Anyone else a fan of this band? I love all of their stuff. I became a fun when I heard "Nothing" from their Ungod album in the early 1990s. This was just posted online yesterday. Apparently, the members have reunited in Christopher Hall's post-SW band The Dreaming.
New single "Alone": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR_jgmrWSmw&feature=youtu.be&list=UUdTPVDN2zXqd6udDJpv5wZQ
The Dreaming – is a reunion of Stabbing Westward's founding members. The songwriting team is back with singer, Christopher Hall and keyboardist Walter Flakus, along with the one-time Stabbing Westward drummer Johnny Haro. The band is rounded out with Deadsy / Orgy guitarist Carlton Bost and bassist Brent Ashley from Static X.

Not a big fan, but I have a best of which was pretty good. They are mostly known over here for their hit Save Yourself. Wonderful song.
-
I love Wither, Blister, Burn and Peel. This song ain't bad.
-
There was a song my mom loved by them, can't remember the name...
-
I mainly know them from this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjRfv_9hO3M (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjRfv_9hO3M)

I remember hot girl from the video Shame. She's probably in her 40s now... :'(
-
And maybe still hot!
Yeah, Shame was the song that got me into them.

Stabbing Westward puts out some great music. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely! These guys had quite a few good songs. I remember listening to them quite often when I went through my industrial phase.
-
I have mixed feelings about the album but there is some good stuff on there.

New Stabbing Westward music and video! Hell yes!

I once met a woman at a concert who compared Ours to this band.
I kind of rolled my eyes, but she said enjoyed Ours as well, so that's not a bad thing.
-
I liked SW like 20 years ago they had a few killer tunes

Anyone else get the new album? Any thoughts? I've only listened once, but I like it so far!

I think it's pretty great and possibly their most consistent album. I'm not a huge fan so don't quote me

I had no idea there was a new album!

That’s an interesting album cover. :coolio
I enjoyed listening to Stabbing Westward back in the day, but when I listen to them now, I can't really connect with the music.

Finally got to it. This is a pretty good comeback. There's definitely a return to that late 90s, electro-tinged industrial sound, which makes the whole thing sound a little "dated", almost like time didn't pass. But I enjoyed it.
Also glad that they didn't completely lose the pop sensibilities that clearly influenced the self-titled...I liked that one a lot when it came out. Case in point, "Push" is probably my favorite - fantastic performance by Cristopher Hall on that one. "Crawl" has a very cool, almost goth-y atmosphere. Of the "bouncier" tunes, Wasteland stood out as being particularly catchy. "Cold" too, although its beat and synths are dangerously close to Blue Monday ;)
"The End" is a pretty cool way to end (ha!) the album.

After 1 listen, I mostly agree with this. It sounds very similar to Darkest Days. I'll say that sounding like a different era is fine by me. "Dated" is rarely a criticism I use.

I was going to make a gentle joke about "is this the band with that AOR song about saving my life and better than a white line?" Which of course is "Head East" and the song is "Never Been Any Reason".
Well, I looked both up, and, interestingly, Stabbing Westward was formed at Western Illinois University. The name was about the '50s threat of communism, but the name sort of stuck because of the university and where it was located. Head East contained members that went to Eastern Illinois University. The name was about a vision of the sun during an acid trip, but still. I thought that was a cool coincidence.

Call me crazy, but on further listen it seems that maybe this guy has had a few bad relationships, and should probably seek counseling.
;)
