Hour and a half premiere is tonight. Anyone else watching?
-
I'm all pumped for this. Not to mention the return of Arrow
-
I just finished watching the third season (Coven), and I loved it. I am so pumped for this.

A lot of people didn't like Coven. It was my favorite so far. I stopped watching the first season because I found it boring, and the second season, while I finished it, was a little too intense for me.
-
I'll be watching. I missed the second half of the season of Coven because we sold our home and moved into the in-laws for a while and they didn't have FX. I hope to revisit the season someday.....but the show in general is very good. They have done a great job at recruiting talent and keeping the talent they have around. This premise seems interesting and I'm sure they will take it places that haven't been expressed before.
-
Out of the three, my favorite definitely is the second season. Coven, at times, felt a little "light" and silly but was extremely entertaining to watch. The second season probably gathers everything I love about American Horror Story in one punch: scary at times, awkward, great acting, great plot twists, etc.

Spoiler for Season 2 ...
I lost my shit when Bloody Face put on Lana's girlfriend's face as a mask and made Lana kiss it. I was screaming and flailing my arms, and couldn't look at the screen.
-
Fucking fuck I know, that's probably the thing I missed the most from Coven: real "WTFIS THIS SHIT FUCK" moments.
Spoiler for Season 3...
I think they could have made the whole Papa Legba story somewhat scarier. I loved the character, but the whole "demon" thing could have gone to another level.
Also, the amazing intro sequence is scarier than any of the episodes :lol
-
Yeah, I liked Asylum a tad more than Coven. Freak Show definitely has the potential for greatness

Yeah....that was messed up!!! I near turned my head.
The 'thing' in the basement from Season one freaked me out as well. Actually, the entire mood of season one was freaky but the way they handled that basement dwelling 'monster' led to every scene it was involved in to feeling very anxious and on edge....
-
I liked everything on Season 1 until the very last episodes. I thought it became ridiculous.

The 'happily ever after' in death aspect? Yeah, it was a bit campy and a let down.
-
Yeah, they made death such a trivial thing to happen. It was like... ok, someone else died. Oh! And they are celebrating Christmas!
That was a thing I didn't particularly enjoy about Coven either, the fact that most characters died or something and they just kept coming back :lol it was like Dragon Ball Z.
-
Will watch in Australia, (we don't get the first episode until about three days after you guys)
I have watched each season and I think it just keeps getting better, I love that a lot of the actors return each season.
I saw Sarah P. last night on David Letterman she will play a two headed girl...she mentioned there was a clown I hate clowns maybe since IT or maybe forever...... looking forward to it..... :corn
-
I've liked each season better than its predecessor. I think that ends with Freak Show, as Coven was just about perfect in every way.

My heart drowned in sadness when Misty got trapped in hell.
-
That was sad, she was a great character.
-
So, any of you good folks have watched the new episode yet?
-
Starts in four minutes!
-
Oh, shi-! Thought it was already aired. I'll have to wait and watch it online in a couple of hours, 'cuz of my location :'(

Off to a good start! That was an awesome season premiere. Missed season 2-3, will have to netflix it. We've been looking forward to FS, and last night didn't disappoint us.

Man did they lay some ground work in the first episode!? That psycho clown is flat scary!!
-
Great premiere. Some random thoughts/predictions.
I think Kathy Bates' character is going to end up doing horrific things. She seems troubled and disturbed, and she acts like the freak show is the only thing keeping her going in life.
I'm assuming that Lang's character had her legs blown off during the war. The only way she can still fulfill her dream of being a stage performer is by having the freak show.
The world's smallest girl... very hard to understand. I rewound it four times and couldn't make out what she was saying.
Bette and Dot each have a pair of lungs and a heart, how does one inhale smoke and the other exhale it?
That clown... fuck that clown.
The spoiled rich kid fucks his mom.
We will see the twins have sex with each other.
-
Yeah...the kid and his mom, biggest freaks in the show... :lol
I'm sure we'll get new "Attractions" as the season progresses. Lobster boy has a good gimmick for making some $$$$.
-

Yeah, that was wrong indeed. Writers should have known that. But it's a freak show after all.
Great start, many secret characters and their lives to be solved and that fucking clown.
-
Loved the episode....the opening credits creepier than ever.
Some interesting characters, and there will be more introduced we haven't seen half of the normal cast.
The small girl, I am clueless to what she is saying as well.
I know they filmed the season in Louisiana when I saw the clown on the carousel by himself....I wondered whether they filmed some scenes at the deserted amusement park (after Katrina....creepy video on you tube)
The scene with the clown in the trailer and the two in cages....I have to wonder what sort of mother would let their child that small (they said he was four...) act in a scene like that? I assume it will only get worse...the poor kid will be scarred for life.
Looking forward to the rest of the season. :corn

I finally got around to watching this.
I LOVED IT.
It was far more scary than anything in Coven, which is an amazing thing in my book.
-
I've watched all seasons but the second. Coven got pretty boring to me, as I did not really have any emotional investment in any characters. I thought the premiere to this season was just okay. Beyond the stereotypical horror movie tricks and gags, there didn't seem to be much substance to it. Was there anything memorable at all beyond the clown? I spent the entire episode trying to decide if I thought the two-headed chick looked believable or not from a CGI perspective.

The second is the best one. You should watch it ASAP.
-
The second was good up until you realize they tried to add as many horror tropes/clichés and "monsters" as possible.
The first one has been the best one so far, each subsequent one has been disappointing (Coven being the most egregious one). Freakshow is off to a refreshingly good start, though.

It's not clicking for me. I've been bored to death so far. Gonna give it one more episode.....

Really? I think it's going just fine.
This season is scarier than anything previously done on AHS so far, and that's excellent in my book.

Yeah I don't know why but it really hasn't engaged me yet. I've liked the other seasons a lot but thus far these two episodes have done nothing to really interest me.
-
Just watched the second episode...not too bad...little slow.
I assume at some point the freaks will turn on Alsa (not sure how you spell it) :corn
-
Elsa
-
^^^Thanks!
-
I liked the two (were there more?) throwbacks to the movie Halloween in this last episode. Overall though I'm not very enthralled by it.
-
Yes, this season is very slow going just watched part 1 of The Halloween episode .. will hang in but it is not up there with previous seasons.
-
I think I'm removing this from the DVR....I'm all caught up on episodes and although this last episode was the best one (to me) I just don't think I'm going to invest any more time in this season.....it's just not 'there' for me this time around.
-
This last episode was awesome. Making the dude sit down on that toilet seat...**shudder** I'm loving it, whoever this writer(s) is, they are truly warped. :lol
-
Just watched Episode 4. Can not believe that they took (in my opinion) the absolute best part of this show (and possibly) the series and completely screw it up. I'm watching the rest of the season, and I'm sure he'll be back at some point..... but wow.....
-
It was weird killing off the character..but maybe that group will still be in it, they made it a little interesting.
That sissy guy who murdered his maid, hopefully he kills of his mother and then kills himself, hopeless character.
Still hoping it improves!
-
Yeah... I was really pissed to see Twisty go.
-
It's interesting - in The Walking Dead Thread, everyone is happy at how quickly the Terminus plotline concluded, but it's quite the opposite with Twisty in American Horror Story. Could it be because TWD isn't dragging out a storyline for once? Maybe because Twisty had a certain charisma to him whereas the Termites weren't likable at all?
Either way, Twisty probably was the best thing about the current season of AHS, even if he seemed like an unnecessary addition to the main plot and I didn't care much for his character until he told his story to Edward Mordrake. I hate that spoiled rich kid.

I'm not really feeling this season either. I find myself bored just trying to get through each episode. My least favorite season by far.
-
I think this season is going to get really intense once all of the little story lines start intertwining, but the build up is relatively boring at this point.

I had forgot to delete this so this past weeks episode was in my que....I watched it last night and this......

.....seems like a fair assesment. The last (2) episodes (IMO) have been the best, and I think the storyline of the 'evil' DR who is trying to kill and sell a 'freak' is going to get more sinister.
I think why I haven't enjoyed it as much this season is the fact that in all the previous seasons Jessica Lange's character has been awesome and this season I can't stand to listen to her speak....that accent/acting is way below par considering her past performances and her character in general hasn't captured my imagination. Ehh....anyway.....
-
I just really pissed Twisty is gone already... especially after hearing his back story. I wanted at least a few episode where he and Dandy worked as a team.

no doubt.

I'm sad to say that I'm done with this show. It's been utter shit (with spurts of mediocrity) since mid-season 2 in my opinion. I absolutely loved and still love everything about Season 1, I really think it's some of the best old-school horror that oozes mystery, creepiness, unnerving terror and intrigue. Since then it's been so basic and predictable, boring, cheesy in the worst way possible and downright shallow. I was hoping this season would change things up but...nope, still so god damn stupid. I predicted this would happen and really hoped I'd be wrong but...you just need to have a better plan than these fools do if you're going to do an anthology series, it's pretty fuckin' obvious they did not have a plan and if they did it went to shit.
Boring... R.I.P. American Horror Story. Maybe subsequent seasons will change my mind but I'll have to find out through here and the grapevine cause I sure as shit am not gonna waste my time any more. Three chances is enough, I think. :-\
-
Has anyone stuck with this season? Wednesday night's episode was probably the best episode they've ever done (IMO).
-
I'm two episodes behind.
-
I almost stopped watching two episodes ago. I'm glad I didn't.
-

I have even after I said I wouldn't. I haven't had the chance to watch the last episode yet but I'm glad I didn't stop watching. It took a bit for them to build the show/characters but it seems to be paying off. Dandy is pretty interesting now.....what a nut job!!

Episode 9 made me realize what I think is the overall message of this season. Here we have all the freaks. They are a family-like unit. Many have made mistakes in life, but all in all, they are good people who just want to be respected and wish they could live their lives like the normal folk. Then there is Dandy. He's smart, very good looking, charming, rich, and is free to do whatever he wants in society. He also just so happens to be really good at manipulating and murdering people, and he's also sick, twisted, and deranged. It makes you ask what the real definition of a 'freak' is.
-
Just watched this weeks episode. Holy Cow....that was some pretty emotional stuff with Pepper.....I felt so bad for her when they were telling the backstory of how she got to the Asylum. What a trip....and the 'neat' little nugget at the end with the Time Cover.....makes me curious as to whats to come.
-
Did you see season 2?
-
Did you see season 2?
I did see Season 2....but for the life of me I can't remember happened to Pepper in it?? Also, I meant 'what's to come' in this season that apparently leads to Elsa still being the queen of Friday nights all those years later (according to that cover of TIME)
-
The fact no one has posted here is weeks confirms for I already knew...this season blew!
I didn't even watch the last two episodes nor do I plan to, because it seems pointless.
Anyone want to tell me I should watch the last two to find out how this shit fest ended?
-
Anyone want to tell me I should watch the last two to find out how this shit fest ended?
I only did just holding out hope that by some slim chance they'd save the season somehow......it didn't happen IMO. Again, I think it's by far the weakest season yet. And, I don't think any season they can offer will ever touch Season 1.
-
Think I just read the final confirmation that I'm done with the series. Lady Gaga is slated to join the cast for next season..........
-
Have you guys seen the teaser? I think she can be good in it.
-
I have one episode left of this season and I don't have any desire to watch it. Talk about a snooze fest.
-

Personally.....I think the 'magic' is gone from the show. What made it special and unique in the first season IMO has never been recaptured.

I finally watched it on Wednesday. It sucked. What a bad season
