Title: Selling a few items (8/19/18 update: Album Flats)
Post by: ZeppelinDT on September 19, 2014, 11:04:33 PM
So I'm cleaning up some space in my closet, and most of these have just been sitting in there for years gathering dust... time to make some room.  Currently got 6 posters up (Signed SC litho, JLB promo poster, 6DoiT, 20th Anniversary tour poster, FII album cover and FII promo)... will probably be adding some other stuff sporadically so I'll just update this thread when I add more.  Figured I'd put this here as some of these are pretty rare.

are you clearing up everything that's collectable or just bits and pieces?

Damn!  I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if your LTE box reaches $400 at the end.

I passed on it the first time and quickly regretted it. Fortunately several years later, a few more copies were found in a garage and put up for sale on the website so I didn't make the same mistake twice.  It's one of my favorite releases by anyone ever.

Probably not everything... at least not yet.

Yeah, I saw how much that was selling for and figured I might as well put mine up.  I never really watch any of the DVDs or listen to the CDs.  I think I basically just watched them once when I first bought it years ago, and then put it on my shelf and forgot about it.

I love how each respective poster is held down by four studio copies of that album -- the 6DOIT poster is held down by four 6DOIT albums, and the same for Systematic Chaos and Falling Into Infinity posters.  Perfection! :D

Would anyone be interested in buying a signed lithograph from the box sets of BC&SL (band with Portnoy) or ADTOE (band with Mangini)?

I would be interested in buying the stems bonus CD from the BCSL boxset if anyone is interested in selling.  (Sorry, Zep, don't mean to highjack your thread).

Out of curiosity, how do you ship the posters without folding them?

Could you roll them and ship in a tube?

This.  They make mailing tubes specifically for this purpose.  Since posters are so lightweight they're usually pretty cheap to ship, despite that fact that the poster tubes are pretty large.

I usually use these -

https://www.staples.com/Staples-White-Mailing-Tubes-1-Pack/product_SS467860#id=%27dropdown_15491%27

Although for the larger posters I have to go to a specialty shipping supplies store because the 36" tubes are too small.

Would love to buy some, but the shipping costs to Australia would kill me!

So are you willing/ready to sell the hourglass!

Lol, I might list it at some point... going through shirts and posters first then I'll see where I'm at.

It's crazy how much shipping to Australia costs... I wish there was a cheaper way.  And now to make things worth eBay very heavily pushes using their own international shipping service, which makes things easier for sellers, but ends up costing buyers even more...

I don't remember The Darkest of Winters being on a regular looking CDR, but I could be wrong.  I thought it was pressed with at least a sticker label or something.

I really have no idea... I was never much of a bootleg collector so I don't know all that much about them.  I got these second hand a long time ago and I was told they were all originals, but I don't really know how to confirm that for sure.  i seem to recall something about some of these being pressed initially with labels, but then some of the later ones didn't have labels?  It's so hard to tell with this stuff though.  I tried to give the best explanation as I could in my listing, so I guess I'll just see what happens.

Been a while since I had all of those boots, but I seem to recall at least some of them didn't have labels, tho I couldn't tell you which ones. I do remember my copy of Precious Things had that same label as Zep's copy. And both Antiquities and Acoustic Dreams are silver CDs. The other 3 were definitely released strictly on CDRs.

snagged that Awake poster, glad to order from a fellow DTF member :tup

Very good deal on that.  Have some myself. The only other time I've ever seen another one was the one you just bought.

Still have all of my Prism releases as well although I recently  moved them from the shelf to a box, because I needed the room.

I have to go check my parent's house out. I used to have this mini clock that was a promo when Awake came out.  Did anyone else ever have this?

What is this???
Quote
Mosaic: https://www.ebay.com/itm/331467428980

Quote
Tracks 1-5 by early DT side-project "Odjeda".  As described by Mike Portnoy, Odjeda was "a goof, pseudo-hardcore, metal, rap sorta-side project, in the vein of S.O.D."  Features Mike Portnoy and Kevin Moore of DT, as well as several other musicians.

How have I never heard of this before? I would love to hear that!!

I had a copy of it when it first came out, but I think I listened to it once (if even that) before putting it on the shelf. It really is nothing great or revolutionary. You're not missing much by not having heard it. Trust me.

I've got one of those.  It's the little white clock/flashlight, right?

Did it have a flashlight with it?  I remember the face of the clock being white.  It was about 3" or so in diameter.

I'll admit I can count on both hands the times I've listened to it, but I thought it was pretty cool.  It's just a fun little thing.
 Maybe it's online somewhere?

My friend actually got it back when he met them when Awake was released but he gave the clock to me because he knows I'm beyond superfan.   ;D

I know I didn't throw it out so it is probably in my parent's attic somewhere.  I'll see if I can find a photo of it somewhere.

As noxon said, I ended up selling them to him for use on the fan club website.  I don't normally like to pull auctions once they've started, but for years I had always wanted to get those mags scanned and put out for broader public consumption, so when he suggested that to me and told me that he had a good platform available for doing it, I decided to kill the auctions and sell them to him directly so that they'd be put to good use.

I've got tons of other stuff that will probably go up eventually.  It's just a matter of finding the time to sort through it, take pictures, write up listings, etc.

Reason why I was asking is that I can't find one of the issues, been looking for some time. If you ever want to message me and give me an idea of what you have, let me know....I'm also a collectaholic!

Did those include the New Voice 'zines? I've been dying get my hands on issues 1&2! Although it's pretty cool that you're planning on putting them to good use. I look forward to seeing them some day soon.

Anybody interested in Dream Theater magazine clippings? The clippings would be from around 99 to 2006 or earlier. I would only ask for shipping costs. Preferably US only.

Hey all -

So for this round I've pulled a bunch of side-project type stuff.  Instead of putting these up on eBay I'm gonna start by just listing them all here for direct sale.  All of these CDs feature at least one current or former member of the band in some capacity (except for the "Tribute to DT" type CDs).

$5.00 for 1 CD, 5 for $20, 10 for $35.  (Shipping costs not included - I will calculate that separate depending on how many CDs and where they're being shipped to).  For more than 10 just contact me and we can work something out.

First come, first served.  Either post here or message me directly.  Pretty much all are in basic "used but still in good shape" condition.

Available CD's -

John Arch: A Twist of Fate
Charlie Dominci: O3 – Part One
Dominici: 03 – Part Two
Dominici: 03 – Part Three [Cardboard Slipcase Promo Version]
