Oh, I'll definitely be trying to figure out a way to do so.  Just can't mention it on FB at all. Since my boss and I are friends there.

Does the Warfield normally sell out?  There's no way I can plan a business trip this early... March would be the earliest I could commit to anything.

If you want good seats in the balcony, you need to strike quickly.  If you don't mind floor G/A, you should be fine.

Yeah, reserved seats do disappear quickly, but their GA section is killer. Multi layered with great view and sound from pretty much everywhere.

Do they still stop for In n Out first thing in CA? Just a thought. I don't suppose it's much help for me since they have a show up hear on the northern side before my two shows, but I was considering camping out at a nearby In n Out the day of the show

Whose going balcony or GA? I'd like to be near others but the last two shows on the previous tour I stood in the same spot and I had an amazing view of the stage and great sound.

I'll be going GA. For the last few shows I've seen there I hung out right behind the mixing booth, killer view, perfect sound. Pretty sure that's where bosky and Yeshua(if he makes it) will be as well.

Something can be a legend and still suck man. Worst. Fries. Ever. There, I said it.  :-*

You want a good burger, hit up True Burger in Oakland, best in the bay, hands down.

As to the meet and greet, I have no clue.

Oh my. I'll agree to disagree while wolfing down these animal fries. I'm down for a good burger, but man, Oakland...no thanks, I'll stick to the In-N-Out around the corner where I won't get stabbed for just breathing :lol

But on topic (:neverusethis:), if you are in the Bay Area anyway, I don't see why anyone would even bother not going to Nation's or Val's.

Val's is of course, awesome, as is Nation's. True Burger is relatively new, I've eaten there about four or five times, an it leaves both in the dirt, unbelievable burger man. Trust me, I'm a chef. :RJ:

Something that occurred to me watching the Portugal videos. That stage is fucking HUGE. I think our show is going to be a lot tighter with how much smaller the Warfeild stage is, and that screen is going to cover the whole background area.

Thoughts?

I just want to go on record as saying that I think the balcony seats will provide a breathtaking view of the whole thing.  Anyone who has not bought tickets already should definitely buy a balcony ticket and NOT a floor ticket.  The floor is crowded, stinky, and you can't see ANYTHING.  Balcony all the way.

Agreed, balcony is totally the way to go. Whoever designed the floor area needs a solid ass whooping.

Probably why balcony is a bit more pricey then floor.
I took floor cause it's cheaper, and cause I'm 6'4. Height advantage. :D

I haven't been to the Warfield in over a year, it's such a beautiful venue. Perfect for DT.

Haha, can't guarantee that.
But most likely that's where I'll be, or somewhere on the edge. Not too fond of crowds.

Also wondering how they are gonna do the big screen, they'll have to get a smaller screen.

I would say sound is more specific to being in the center that anything else. Once you get to the sides, it gets really muddy. I haven't been to the front sections of the floor in a long time, but I was pretty close for Nightwish, and it was still pretty solid. Unless you're over 5'10", then get in the balcony so you don't block my view. :p

Haven't posted in a while. Where is everyone watching the show? I have GA tickets and remember a great spot from the last tour. I'd like to meet you guys before the show and possibly hang during too. Couldn't convince any of my friends to go. I know JP is doing a workshop at Guitar Center during the day. Whose going to that and would it interrupt the meet up at Lefty's? What time is the meetup at Lefty's?

EH, I'm cool. With ten DT shows under my belt, I am patient. Plus we got the first show last time.

my son and I officially left this morning for our road trip to SFO.
lesson learned:  120 to yosemite from eastside of sierras doesn't open very often.  fortunately, we found out before we did the 350 mile trek, but not before I booked a non-refundable hotel in mammoth.

tomorrow we spend the day in yosemite, then thurs at Winchester Mystery house.

then, a night of  :metal

My first show is on the 18th in Riverside. I was out of my mind the first night of the tour. And now these last few days are just TORTURE

fortunately, I found out the roads from Mammoth to Yosemite were closed before we drove all the way up there.
Yosemite was as awesome as usual!

LESS THAN 24 HOURS. WOW. Anyone else going to the meet and greet?

If not, you'll likely find me before the set at the bar, wherever that ends up being.

Just got back from my first SF Giants game of the year. Double nights in the city will be awesome. I'll be taking the train early and walking to the Guitar Center event to see JP. No idea how long that will run but I'm sure I'll have lots of time to roam around before getting in line for the show. If you see a short Asian dude with glasses wearing a DT animation Tee from last tour, holla!

Well, the boys did it again. Unbelievable show. Highlights for me were Shattered Fortress, BAI, the whole Awake section (I fucking lost my shit hard during Mirror/Lie, the guys will attest to it), and...well shit..the whole show was a highlight.

The Guitar Center event was amazing, having Sterling Ball there just made it, so much history and respect for the craft and the music. Such a memorable experience (plus watching JP bust out Dance of Eternity and Enigma Machine from ten feet away was pretty cool too)

Awesome to see all you guys, we'll surely gather again for the next go round. Chad, I fully expect you to fly to SF for every DT show from now on man. :metal

I have to agree. BAI and the Awake section were absolutely nuts and there's nothing like an Evening With show. Wonderful to meet everyone, you guys know how to rock, keep it going!

I managed to get in with my little camera and took some decent pictures and video. I'll post them later. They pulled me aside and wouldn't let me in for a while but it all worked out.

I'll see what I can do about that.

The band was spot on again, even a month into the tour. Great venue, great concert, great company!

Outstanding show.  It was cool meeting jingle.boy and jcmistat and seeing others that I have met before.  Cool meeting Matt Guillory and Frank and Michelle Aresti as well.  More later...

I'm still pumped up from the show last night, hoping they do second NA tour and come back. I also thought the light show was much better than the last tour.

First video is uploaded. I'll be updating this post with a few more. Of course go 1080p!

Illumination Theory: Part IV The Pursuit of Truth

My camera had a lens error and shut off during Petrucci's solo. JP probably played a note that took it out.

Illumination Theory: Jordan Rudess Zen Riffer Solo

Got tapped by security during this one. They were really cracking down tonight.
