Nice trailer.... they had me at "exceptional concept album"!  :panicattack:

The same guy that got me in to DT got me in to VP about 10 years ago.  Gave me Beyond Daylight.  Was instantly hooked.  Absolutely love everything about this band.  Andy has such a distinct voice, it's the kind that you instantly know who you're listening to.  I'd love to see Tobi or Arjen pick him up for a project.

I know there are a few fans of them around here.  Report in.  Discuss.

That has to be one of the best and most epic albums trailers ever.  Sounds absolutely perfect and seems like it's picked up right where Seraphic Clockwork left off, which was an insanely amazing album.

This band is very underrated, they got chops and the songs, can't wait for this album.

I've followed them since the beginning (mid 90's) but for me they almost always fall short.  The only album I haven't listened to (I do have it) is Seraphic Clockwork.

To me they don't have the songwriting chops to compete in the same space as DT  - each album has one or two tracks I really like but I always find my attention drifting and thinking they're trying to be something they're not.  I feel they're at their best when they focus more on melodic riff based metal and less on trying to be grandiose .

So to this day the only album that gets very high marks from me is the first - Colour Temple - ripping melodic metal , after which I think they tried a bit to hard to move into the realm of DT (and failed).   I remember listening to Rainmaker (off The God Thing) for the first time - wicked track-  and being glad they'd gone in that direction but over the rest of that album and on coming albums they very rarely nailed it like that IMHO.    Colour Temple though barely has a weak track.

For some reason I keep buying their stuff in the hope they'll impress me again for more than one or two tracks.  I'll have to find Seraphic Clockwork

Yeah, I would put them somewhere right on the edge of being a GREAT melodic/metal act, but an above-average progressive/metal band.  I love all their albums, maybe because of that - they don't try to get too flashy/technical, even thought they probably could.  You've got the bands like DT, SX, Ayreon, Haken etc... that show off their technical prowess at every chance.  Then there are bands like VP, Evergrey, Angra, Kamelot that can, but (by and large) restrain themselves.

I love this band.  One of the few remaining bands I buy a physical disc from whenever they release something.  I agree that they're hugely underrated.

In fact, I think their last album was better than anything Dream Theater has released in 10 years.

Yeah, I went there.  :corn

:lol Yeah, the video was a bit iffy - aside from the music.

Really looking forward to this though, I love these guys. Shame they're not more well-known. Haven't listened to them for a while actually, I'll have to give their discography a spin soon  :metal

The release date seems to have changed already though - they posted February 14th on their FB page a week or 2 back, but now it's the 21st

It's funny this thread appeared. The other day when I got to work half asleep, one of my co-workers who's a Dream Theater fan walked by and said "VANDENPLAS".  I didn't know what the fuck he was saying, but then he's like, "have you heard of them?" A few seconds later after some blank staring, it finally dawned on me that he wasn't yelling at me in German, and was like, "oh yeah, Vanden Plas, yeah I listened to Christ 0 years ago, but it was pretty much background music, and I didn't think much of it".

The next day I gave the album a proper listen and while it certainly wasn't bad, it wasn't incredibaly gripping either. It might take a few more listens. We'll see. I remember when Christ 0 and 10,000 Days were the big craze when I first joined DT.net.

Perhaps the last remaining prog metal band that I am actually interested in these days.

I bought Far Off Grace years ago and liked it. Nothing really grabbed me since and I haven't listened to them in years. The newie sounds good. Looks like I'm going to have to relisten. They just slipped me by a bit I guess.
Agree with Kade that Andy has a great voice. Very distinct.

Man these guys suck in front of the camera.

Is it just me, or does Andy look pretty much the same playing that character?  :lol

Not the catchiest tune to put out IMO, but I'm liking it.  Sounds like a good continuation of Clockwork.

Heard it three times already today and majestic, massive, melodic, heavy, progressive are just some of the words that immediately spring to mind. Gonna take some CD to beat this as my Prog metal album of 2014.
The production is HUGE and puts DT's last CD and the muddy LALP to utter shame in that respect (and in others too!!).
HIGHLY recommended and best listened to with quality earphones too.

Post by: krands85 on February 21, 2014, 02:33:02 PM
I had my first listen earlier and nothing really grabbed me right away, but that doesn't surprise me - it's normally the case for me with most albums, I'll need plenty of listens to get to grips with it.

I was pleased they toned down the track lengths a bit (not something I usually say about prog-metal), as I felt a few of the songs on the previous album went on for too long. It does sound great sonically too, on first listen. VP and Haken, among others, have shown what you can do with a limited budget and resources. Wish DT would take a page out of their books.

An album from a band that has supported DT, is Prog Metal like DT and is getting rave reviews and "album of the month" accolades on NUMEROUS websites all over the World, yet no-one has any opinions or wants to discuss it in here. Meanwhile we have 80 odd pages of people having orgasms over that pretentious, full of himself, and self proclaimed DT "disliker",  Steven Wilson!!!.........
Still, I guess everyone is different, but I just don't understand it.

Because Steven Wilson makes good music. It's okay if you don't like him, but spewing that kind of garbage won't get you very far.

And besides, what does it even matter if SW doesn't like DT? Do you give all artists you listen to the "DT test", and if they don't like DT, you just have to stop listening to them?

metrojam, the album has only just come out, many people myself included still don't have the album.
Nor have we downloaded an illegal copy.
I'm sure once we have it, there will be discussion.
You also have to remember that Vanden Plas are a very well unknown to the masses band.
While Mr. Pretentious has a far bigger following through Porcupine Tree and his various other bands/projects.

Just had my first listen to the new Vanden Plas and I'm liking it.  As I've noted before I don't think they've matched their debut (which was more straight out metal and less grandiose/proggy) - to me they were always too short of good ideas to be doing full prog albums.   The first proper song on their 2nd album (Rainmaker) was/is amazing but from that album on I've always made liberal use of the Skip button............with the qualification that I haven't as yet sat down and listened properly to Seraphic Clockwork.

Anyway - I listened to this new album from start to finish no worries ..............rare for me with a new release these days.  I feel that they have spread themselves less thin (there's plenty of nice interludes where normally there might be a filler song).  I think they've been much smarter with pacing in that respect and the quality across the album is higher as a result.

They'll never be in DT's league in my eyes (in prog metal) but this album is a ripper .   It's an album that needs to be listened to as a whole (due to the frequent interludes/segues) and I'm looking forward to a second listen...I wasn't expecting to like it this much tbh as I'd become a bit disillusioned after loving the debut so much and being consistently underwhelmed aside from a few tracks on each album. Well done to the band - the music lives up to the cover art :)

My tentative rating :  92% which must be the first new release >75% in a while (aside from DT12)

Yes I love Colour Temple, was always my fave VP album and I bought the Japanese version
many years ago with the 2 killer bonus tracks, Fire and Days Of Thunder.
It has just enough prog bit, mixed with some killer melodic rock melodies and outstanding production and sound for a debut album from 1997.

I think this album will take multiple listens, but in a good way. I had it on yesterday doing stuff around the house, but I did get a nice head phone listen in last night. It reminded me of my first listen to Beyond The Bridge.

The thought I had while listening was this: To me, they are like a modern day Savatage. Now, you guys know that I am NOT a Savatage fan by any stretch. But one thing that I have always commended them for was their vision and their song writing. IMO, They just seemed to never fully execute, like they just didn't have the chops to pull it off.

Vanden Plas HAS the chops and they do a great job. I would like Gutter Ballet and Streets a LOT more if Vanden Plas rerecorded them.

Anyway, that was what I was thinking. In the coming year, I will definitely be getting the VP discog, though I probably have to wait until Easter to get started.

Has the lineup remained stable throughout their career? Have they always had this singer? He is excellent.

Not sure about the entire band, but I do believe that Andy Kuntz has been the lead singer from the get go.  He has a very distinctive voice... one of the things I really love about VP.

Edit... quick check of wiki confirms it's been a 100% stable lineup.

It was the first night of Dio's Dream Evil tour in Providence, and for Megadeth, it was a month before SFSGSW came out, so Megadeth had the Beehler/Young lineup and previewed In My Darkest Hour, Liar, Hook In Mouth, and Anarchy.

Megadeth was freaking awesome. It was the night I truly became a Megadeth fan. I had seen them on the Peace Sells tour previous to that as well.

I'm on 25-30 listens (not that it matters, tastes are different of course), and I think the album starts strong, then loses steam a bit, and then picks up and ends on a very strong note. The only tracks I'm not crazy about are 5 and 7, and since everyone on FB seem to like the latter, I hope it grows on me with time.

Misery Affection -> Soul Alliance -> Inside is a mindblowing sequence for the ending, can't get enough of these three.

I haven't had it long enough to be familiar with the track names yet.  I pre-ordered the CD on Amazon and on release day they emailed me a link to download the digital version.  I've only had it for two days.  My opinion of it will likely change over time.  That's what happened with Christ0 and TSC.

I've always used WOWHD https://www.wowhd.com.au/ but their delivery times are usually pretty shit.  I should look into Amazon more.  Are their delivery times acceptable?

Depends on your definition of acceptable.
I've had stuff on less than 4 days, but the normal would be around 5-7 working days.
The big bonus for us in OZ, is that we do not pay UK sales tax, so the prices are less 20% or in other words free shipping :)

5-7 days is fine with me.  WOWHD are like 10 business days, sometimes longer.

You have me interested with Amazon UK, definitely gonna check it out.

I listened to it again last weekend and I felt that the second half was noticeably stronger than the first this time around.  I rated it 87% so I suppose that says enough.

Man, for some reason I'm really loving VP at the moment.  I think they just clicked with me that little bit more.  I never really realized how incredible Christ 0 is.  I pulled it out after not really listening to it for years, but have been spinning it repeatedly in my car and it's amazing.  Killer production, amazing guitar tones and the songs are top notch.  It could be on its way to being my fav VP disc.

Gonna revisit the new one next.

Do it!  Do it!  Do it!.  Still my AOTY at this point.  Though I haven't listened to it recently... these damned discog threads, and Brent's top 50 are dominating my listening habits!  :getoffmylawn:   :lol

VP has done no wrong in my ears.  Everything is 4 and 5 star material.

I'm listening to it right now, already a lot better and clicking with me a lot more than at teh time of the release.  Funny how sometimes bands and albums just open up to you more with no reason.  This bad boy is going in the car tomorrow morning.

WTF, I could have sworn I quoted this post the other day saying it was also my album of 2014 so far, along with Kaleidoscope by Transatlantic  :lol

It didn't immediately click with me (like most albums TBH), but after a few listens I really started to love it. Godmaker and New Vampyre are probably my favourites too.

Pity they're so underrated

Yeah, it's on repeat in the car at the moment, just loving this band and album at the moment.  The recurring piano themes throughout the entire record is just brilliant and my fav would be still Dark Vampyre.  Godmaker probably would be second, but really the whole thing is on another level.

Gotta mention the guitar solo section of Godmaker and how fucking simple but brilliant it is.  The melodies and just the whole way it's constructed it unreal and the way it climaxes back into the chorus is incredible.

Oh, and how about the main riff of Lost World?!  :metal

Chronicles of the Immortals: Netherworld Part 2 will be released at 6th of November this year.

Tracklist:

VISION 11even * In My Universe
VISION 12elve * Godmaker's Temptation
VISION 13teen * Stone Roses Edge
VISION 14teen * Blood Of Eden (* All love must die) (* The rite)(* This is the night)
VISION 15teen * Monster
VISION 16teen * Diabolica Comedia
VISION 17teen * Where Have The Children Gone
VISION 18teen * The Last Fight
VISION 19teen * Circle Of The Devil

This one is a blind buy for me and if it's as brilliant as the first one, it might be a serious contender for Album of the Year for me too.

Was my first VP CD many many years ago.
I first heard them in the early 1990's, I was trading tapes with a French pen-pal.
He sent me a tape with Soul Survives on it and I was hooked.

Still one of the most consistent bands around, always delivering quality releases.

You know, I never heard of any lineup changes, and I've been a longtime fan, and this is still shocking. For bands that are more than a trio to go this long, and put out as many albums as they have, and stay stable is not something you see everyday.

Listened to BD, C1 and CO yesterday, incredible.

Never really gave my full focus to BD before but what an album.  Can't believe I've missed Phoenix and that solo section, holy shit.  That might be one of the greatest solos I've ever heard, seriously.

Alright, after two listens I can say it's very good, maybe Chronicles Part 1 good. Time will tell.

I won't go into spoilers much, I guess we'll discuss it when you all are able to listen to it. I can say there are some great reprises of Part 1, some outstanding new material too. I'm not sold on two songs out of ten nine now, but I think they have a potential to grow on me. Also, I suppose I can reveal that one song is longer than 13 minutes.

I wonder if I'm allowed send my favourite song from this to Chad in his roulette and get the first place. :lol

Poor quality in general and your doing free promo for the band/label and you're don't even get a CD for your efforts.

Lucky bastards.

Poor quality in general and your doing free promo for the band/label and you're don't even get a CD for your efforts.

Dunno, this promo is 256 kbps mp3, and so are most of my music files on PC. CD quality is better, but nothing I couldn't live without. *shrug*

And I think our attitudes towards reviewing stuff are really the opposites. I'm not reviewing the albums for the band, and I certainly don't want anything for my efforts — if I like the album, I'm going to buy it regardless of having the promo files — I'm mostly doing it because I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts about music in general. If the band reads my review, great, if not, I know other people will read it and maybe end up checking out the album; and even if they won't, I know I had fun writing it.

And I'm not even going to do a review of this Vanden Plas album... another colleague of mine already snatched this one for her review list. So an early listen for free? I'd count myself lucky indeed. And I'm going to get this album on CD anyway, it's great, I'd say it's another contender for AOTY. :tup

Actually our attitudes are pretty similar, I did enjoy sharing my thoughts with others.
I am a little bitter though, when in 2009 I was threatened with legal action, after being falsely accused of illegally spreading watermarked promo files.
The label in question has their lawyer send me a letter, with multi million euro court case threat.
Thankfully it never got to that stage, but be very careful what and who you share official label files with.

I'm looking forward to see what Part II brings. I listened to the first one when it came out, and wasn't too moved by it. I recently gave it another listen, and I liked it better, but still didn't find it too exciting. I'm hoping for more uptempo rockers.

Another new song...

Freaking awesome.  This is gonna be great.

This is a really good tune!

For the record, and sake of this thread - I got into Vanden Plas at Beyond Daylight. (Granted, I heard "Rainmaker" on a prog sampler I got  for free many years prior, and thought that was pretty boss.) Christ 0 I thought was fantastic. After these two, I was psyched for the next thing they'd do. Seraphic Clockwork was pretty much a letdown IMO. I was hoping for more downtuned guitar.

I'm so torn on Vanden Plas. I love them when they blast out uptempo prog metal, but too often to my liking they get stuck in slow, mid-tempo atmospheric stuff. The two latest songs have been promising though..

Yeah, great trailer and finally they're revealing some more delicious parts indeed. I also love the dramatic narration voice. :lol

Anyway, for those who are probably curious, mild spoilers which song is which below:

Riff from the very beginning (the one that repeats at 0:18) is from In My Universe, and obviously the chorus from 0:26 too, though it's the first chorus — and the choruses in the song grow progressively more exciting, and it's only a first half of the chorus too. Starting from 0:53 is an amazing driving riff from the second part of Blood of Eden (I love that one); 1:10 is an insight in Godmaker's Temptation chorus, 1:36 onwards (from right before "Netherworld II" is Diabolica Comedia intro, and I can't recall which track comes up at 1:51 (after "now").

This album is seriously awesome. It's in my Top 3 releases this year, and with how many great releases there was... well, you get it.

Yeah, I got a laugh from your original post thinking of Vision One. :lol

I really like how Andy sings, but I must say I have a lot of trouble understanding some lyrics with his kinda slurry nasal pronunciation, which along with his low voice makes him unique I guess. His vocals are certainly fun to sing along with, but damn, I was surprised when I finally bought Netherworld Part I and checked some lyrical sequences. It wasn't what I heard at all.

I feel it'll be the same on Part II. Since I have no booklet, I'm pretty convinced he sings in English, French, Japanese and maybe some language from Slavic group in the epic... but when my actual CD copy arrives, I won't be astonished to find out it's all in English. :lol

Wow, wow, I'm almost lost for words how good this album is.
Stunning in every way possible.
The only thing I can nit-pick is some slight/brief clipping in a  couple of places.
Song wise and the musicianship is spot on.
The perfect mix of quality songwriting and progressive metal.

So, folks, out of curiosity, what are your three early favourites from the album?

Mine - though not so early as I had a month to digest the album - are:

1. In My Universe
2. Where Have the Children Gone
3. Blood of Eden
Title: Re: The Official Vanden Plas Thread
Post by: jingle.boy on November 07, 2015, 12:42:08 PM
Since it contains the reprise of my favorite riff from the first album, Vision 13 - Stone Roses Edge, is my fave at the moment.  Followed by Vision 14 - Blood of Eden, and Vision 15 - Monster.  That's a helluva three song run.  Vision 11 is a fantastic opener too.  Grabs ya by the short and curlies right away, and doesn't let go.

Two listens in, and I'm going to have to restrain myself.  Quite certain this will be my AOTY.
Title: Re: The Official Vanden Plas Thread
Post by: Evermind on November 07, 2015, 01:01:56 PM
Monster has the most awesome reprise, but I think the rest of the song isn't that amazing. I like how it starts though, with this heavy riff and amazing delivery by Andy.

And yeah, Vision 11 rocks and still my favourite from the album. I wasn't sure what to expect - to be honest, I was afraid this album will be nowhere near as good as Part I - then I've heard the first track and I was just blown away and convinced this is awesome.

David Gilmour is still my AOTY, but this one may well be #2 instead of The Gentle Storm.

Nah, it was The Gentle Storm one for a long time. DIJAF got close to topping it, but then David Gilmour released his new album, then this new Vanden Plas got in... DIJAF is only #4 now. It's just an incredible year of music, so many brilliant releases.

I agree on the first point and on In My Universe, this one is the best song from both albums for me. The Last Fight, well, I wish this tune had better chorus. It seriously drags the song down for me. Blood of Eden is indeed awesome, but I think I like Misery Affection, Soul Alliance, Inside (now that's a flawless three-song run) from the Part I, and Where Have the Children Gone from Pt II better.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but damn I love this band.  Just discovered them 2 weeks ago.  I bought the debut, Christ 0 , The God Thing and Seraphic Clockwork.  I have listened to both Netherworld parts 1 and 2, but have not yet purchased.  I am having a hard time getting into these two and do not know why.

Songs I love are:

Judas, Fireroses Dance, January Sun, When the Wind Blows, Rainmaker, You Fly , Frequency, On my way to Jerusalem, Phoenix and Nightwalker

I would love for DT's next release to be as heavy as Christ 0 :metal

Sounds good  :tup I tend to only listen to songs that are released ahead of the album only once, but I also usually need lots of listens to digest something, so I don't have much to say about the tracks so far  ;D
With only 6 tracks, I was expecting maybe a big long epic, but if the track list I saw is accurate, that's not the case and the album is less than 47 minutes long.

Yeah it got mentioned in the hard rock thread Ski.  The first song released was amazing.  The second song here is pretty standard but will wait for the album.  I'm happy with more typical VP.  Very strong band.

Holy crap. Been playing this album non-stop since Friday. Nice mix of Beyond Daylight and their current heavier style. All the songs in this album are well constructed and very catchy. Has anyone else listened to this album?

Will take a while to digest, as always with me, but it sounds pretty good so far. Not sure I'll like it more than either Netherworld album though.

Frontiers posted that Part II will be released in 2020.

I thought Netherworld was a tad too long. It does have some great gems though.

Just got through a first listen.  I thought the first track was weak and each track improved a bit from there with the best tracks being four and (esp) five and then we have the lead single last which I don't mind.

Overall..........I might return to a couple of tracks but not something I am raving over at all.

If I had to rate it at this point maybe high 70's-80 , which is quite a bit below both Netherworld albums which I thought were their best in a while , especially the second.

I saw Vanden Plas opening for DT back then and listened to some songs here and there over time and they never grabbed me.

Today I listened to the Seraphic Clockwork and that wasn't bad at all, maybe they aren't as bland as I thought. Is this record representative of their style? Is it one of their better ones? Where to go next?

I would go to the Netherworld albums first and then - having some idea of your taste - the debut Color Temple (which made my DTF Top 50)    I have always been a fan but found them quite inconsistent for much of the time.

I started with their debut way back then and it remains my favourite -  Andy's vocals were rough (some would say still are :)  ) but it's a very consistent album and I thought that slightly progressive melodic metal style suited their abilities best.   Since they turned proggier I have felt in most cases that it stretched their songwriting to the point of them struggling to fill out an album with quality songs in the way that DT can  , although the two Netherworld albums softened my view on that.

I recall getting the first of the proggier albums on release (The God Thing) and hearing Rainmaker for the first time ........ :hefdaddy .........but the rest of the album couldn't get close and since then I have been very patiently waiting for something that good.  It's taken a long time but I think they have become a lot more consistently good in recent years.

-Christ 0
-The God Thing
-Netherworld
-Ghost Experiment

I would start with those.

I'll echo Brent's comment on Rainmaker.  Top 10 song from the 2000s in my books.  I'd rate as follows:

Chronicles I
Chronicles II
Beyond Daylight
Far Off Grace
Christ 0
The God Thing
Seraphic Clockwork
Colour Temple (sorry Brent... I feel it has the weakest songs - though, I got in to VP all at once around Christ 0)

I'm guessing Ghost Experiment will land before or after Beyond Daylight, but I've only listened to it twice.

I picked up the Epic Works box set this weekend. What a great value. 11 CDs (complete with full jewel cases and liner notes), a nice booklet, and cool box for 65 bucks. I had stupidly sold off the majority of my VP collection when I did my stupid CD purge 12 years ago. So to get them all again, plus four albums I didn't have...just a great set.

I love the new album. I have had a media download of it for awhile, and really been spinning it a ton. That's what set me off in getting the box set. I have a bit to catch up on. I stopped after The Seraphic Clockwork (which I bought but don't recall ever listening to it), so Christ 0 and the two Chronicles of the Immortals records are new to me. Such a great band. And to think they have been together for like 25 years, without a lineup change. That's something, given that it is a full band, and not just a power trio.

Looking forward to catching up on the VP story and getting re-acquianted with the albums I already liked.

I bought Far Off Grace back in the early 00's I bet, but never kept up with the band.  Sometime within the last year, I've been working on getting the majority of them.

I feel rather dumb for not following the band for the last 15-20 years.  It's hard to find a bad record in the bunch.

Very consistent band. One of my closest friends returned to the U.S. after serving in Germany (Air Force) and when he came home in 1999, he got me into Vanden Plas. Totally killer band.

Haven't checked out the new album yet but gave the live CD they released last year a spin in the car.  I haven't even watched the DVD or listened to the CD but the CD was very enjoyable.  I don't think it's the strongest set, but a great performance all round.

EDIT: Shit, just thought since it's for the SC album I just checked and it was released in 2017.  Holy moly times flies.

High quality video production
Musically - nothing I haven't heard from VP before.
Still an excellent listen.

Invariably a release-day purchase for this guy.

I will say I'm enjoying the new album much more than The Ghost Experiment - Awakening. The new one is on par with the Netherworld pair of albums. I'm not really familiar with anything pre-Netherworld, I should dive deeper into these guys discography.

The first album I heard from the band was Far Off Grace - the opening track (I Can See) is very Dream Theater-like.  That is still my favorite album of theirs, probably because it was the first one I'd heard.

Most of their albums seem to be similar in sound/style.

Well, sounds like the perfect opportunity to rank their discography!

Beyond Daylight
Netherworld I and II
Far Off Grace
Ghost Xperiment - Awakening
Christ 0
The Seraphic Clockwork
The God Thing (though, it does have my absolute fave song by them - Rainmaker)
Colour Temple

Not ranking the new release yet, I've only listened to it twice.

I like the new album a little bit better than its companion.   I would love to have these guys go back to what they were doing back around The God Thing, not necessarily making concept albums.  This seems to be a trend in prog metal lately, every album is a concept album.  Sometimes just a collection of songs can be great too.

Seraphic Clockwork last.

I bought Chronicles 1 many years ago. I had a hard time getting into it at the time, but went back to it again recently and have really enjoyed it. I wish more of this band's CDs were in print—I just bought Ghost Xperiment 1 and will soon buy the second one, but tracking down the others will take a bit of work. I wish I hadn't missed that box set that they did some years ago. (Why is it that these convenient box sets that package a bunch of out-of-print albums always seem themselves to be very limited run?)

I know I could always stream the stuff, but I'm still quite attached to the CD format and have a hard time giving my full attention to something I'm exploring through streaming.

I've got both Chronicles and the first Ghost Experiment when I could still buy stuff abroad. I didn't like the first Ghost Experiment much so I didn't buy the second one, then I listened to it and it's miles ahead of the first, but now I've got nowhere to buy it from. :lol

Also (at least on my copies) Chronicles I is titled "Netherworld [path one]", and Chronicles II is titled "Netherworld II" and that irritates me to no end. The albums were released a year apart, just pick one and stick to it.
