I do during midterms and finals because I need that extra mental boost. I usually get white chocolate mocha. So tasty. I think I'll head over and get one now.
-
I've only been once to get a Mocha Latte.
-
Never had coffee, because I drink soda. I like to pretend like that's something to be proud of.
-
Yeah, it's not.
-
I know, man. I know.
-
Good.
-
I once was at the Starbucks in Stratford-upon-Avon with a few friends, and I took the seat in the comfy chair in the window, while they took a normal table. They had to order something every half an hour or they'd be kicked out, while I fell asleep in the Starbucks window for nearly four hours straight, with nobody bothering me in the slightest.
Yeah, that doesn't really have anything to do with the OP, but I wanted to share that story.
-
I don't like Starbucks.
-
Love Starbucks. In fact, just this morning I had a lovely cinnamon dolce latte. I get really excited for the seasonal flavors like pumpkin spice and gingerbread. The gingerbread in particular is absolute sex.
-
Here in Australia we only have limited Starbucks, and in my state we only have I think 4 Starbucks. We have other major coffee chains, but I've always been fond of Starbucks, consistenly great coffee. I go a mocha, or if I'm not in the mood for any sugar, I'll just grab a regular strong latte.
-
Do you have to request all the drinks to be made upside down in order to have them done correctly?
-
lol
-
I only drink plain, normal coffee, and in very large portions. There's isn't good enough or large enough to warrant the cost.

I passionately hate Star Bucks.
There's a decent place called Costa that has better everything but unfortunately I couldn't find it in the U.S.

Right here? Iced caramel macchiato, n***aaaahhhh!
-
Nice, caramel macchiato is awesome albeit a bit too sweet sometimes. But why iced? I down iced drinks in about two seconds - when it's hot, you are forced to savor it.
-
Cuz my taste buds gotta have it, cuzz.
-
Let me ask, are Starbucks that common in America, are they at every corner like portrayed on tv? Dumbass question I know :loser: but still, answer it.
-
Yes. They are freaking everywhere. I can count about 3 within half a mile of each other where I'm at.
-
In urban areas? Yes.
In suburban areas? Almost.
In rural areas? Not so much.
-
You know, I love craft beer but when it comes to coffee, I'm not a fan of Starbucks and I know it's craft coffee. I like the Budweiser of coffee, Dunkin' Donuts.
-
Yes. They are freaking everywhere. I can count about 3 within half a mile of each other where I'm at.

That's fucking crazy! :lol
Seriously, the girlfriend and I both prefer Starbucks over the main chains here in Aus, but we seriously have to travel at least 40 minutes north of the city, or down past the coast to get to a Starbucks. Makes it more a treat I guess on weekends than being able to get one ten times a day.
-
When I can afford it, it's a lovely way of living.
-
Caramel Machiato. I don't know why, I just like it, a lot. Plus, the coffee I make at home is better than the Starbucks coffee and I can't make a caramel machiato at home, so in the rare instance that I actually go to Starbucks, I'll get one of them. I also always give false names for the hell of it.
-
I also always give false names for the hell of it.
Awesome. I do the same thing at open mic night. Last time I played under the names:
Bacon Taint
(and also)
Dick Fritter and the Crabcake Allstars.
-
It's not a habit, just an occasional treat. :)
Caffeinated: Cinnamon Dolce Latte (no whipped cream)
Non-caffeinated: Passion Tea Lemonade (stuff is SO good on a hot day)
-

Me too! We are brothers! I :heart you H.
-
Hm...with or without whipped cream?
-
Uhhh...I don't know, how do YOU get it?
-
Yes. They are freaking everywhere. I can count about 3 within half a mile of each other where I'm at.
You should see Seattle. I work downtown, and can literally stand in one spot and see multiple Starbucks. In addition to the Tullys, SBC, and any other random coffee house/shop that dares do business in this town.
I think I will count how many I see between my office and my bus stop on the way home today.
And I dislike coffee. Sometimes living here makes me feel like I am in some weird (and boring) Twilight Zone episode.
-
Yes. They are freaking everywhere. I can count about 3 within half a mile of each other where I'm at.
Don't forget they're in every grocery store now. Within a mile of my apartment are probably 12 or so.
-
If the weather is warm I might have a frappuchino or an Iced tea, if it's cold I'll have a Mocha.
-
I also always give false names for the hell of it.
:lol This. if I'm on my own at a coffe shop I do this everytime. I always thought I was weird but I'm glad I'm not the only one.
-

No whipped.
-

Uhhhh...me too!!!
Nah I actually do get whipped cream :sadpanda:
Can we still be friends?
-
I don't hang out with creamies. Sorry brah
-
Did I say I don't get whipped cream but then just joking I do get whipped cream? Well double dog just joking, fuck a mother fucking whipped cream! I just go into the local 'bucks and say: "hey babycakes (even if the barista is a dude), I says "hey babycakes, pout me an H."
And they know what I'm talkin 'bout- right my man?
Right? We hang now? We go to the local pizza parlor and video arcade together? Play Street Fighter 2? Champion edition?
-
Damn, I might just have to take you up on that.

Best post I've read in a while. SFIICE was the ultimate kicker in that, yes, it's a step up from SFII but marginal in Turbo Hyper Fighting's shadow.

Top 3 arcade games, how 'bout all time:
1. Street Fighter II Champion Edition
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
3. The Simpsons
Mortal Kombat's aight, I played that more on SNES though.

Yeah, that's all I'll drink from the stores too. That, or Wawa.
Starbucks isn't really coffee to me... they're more like dessert drinks.

Was Super Mario Bros. released as an arcade cabinet?
-
During the summer I get an iced coffee with coconut and cream, during the fall/winter it's a peppermint mocha, and the spring, well, I don't go to Starbucks in the spring that often.
-

I think so... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFqofRv7P5U)
-
i usually get redeye. sometimes i get dry triple cappucino.
-
There is one across from my work that I go to sometimes, only because there is no Tim Hortons within walking distance. I only get Frappaccinos because I don't really drink coffee, but I love me some Iced Capp/Frappaccino.
-
I've had Starbucks once. Some kind of Whipped Frappe Mocha Vanilla Latte Espresso... thing. Had whipped cream on top. I got a cavity holding the cup.
I drink coffee every morning, but I just bring it from home. MUCH cheaper than buying Starbucks every morning and much less fattening.

I don't like coffee, so I've only ever been like 4 times. They had this salted caramel hot chocolate that was amazing. Haven't seen it in a while though.

ONLY at DTF can a thread about coffee morph into a vidya gaem discussion. :lol

If I end up going there, I just get plain black coffee, as I do at any coffee place. Though I don't really care for Starbucks.

How did I miss this before...

Since I only go to Starbucks less than once a month, I splurge (well, it's about $4, so not really expensive for Starbucks) on a Galapagos San Cristobal drip coffee made with the Clover machine (participating stores only).
-
Coffee, despite the fact that theirs tastes terrible.
-
Can't stand coffee, but I still go to Starbucks. Usually get a vanilla bean frappuccino, or if it's really cold out I'll get a hot chocolate. :3

Triple Venti (whole milk) Latte.

I've been to Starbucks once. I'll never pay that much for coffee again. It's not worth it.

A caramel macchiato. I really like them during the winter.

How much is it over there?

Never had coffee
Well aren't you in luck, because 90% of whatever people order at starbucks isn't fucking coffee anyway. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQxgv4QtKM8)

I remember it being like 4 something for a regular sized cup. It was nothing special either.

What the fuck? A regular coffee, at least here, is <2 bucks. People always bitch about how overpriced starbucks is, but I really don't see it. I used to get a breakfast sandwich and coffee there all the time, and it was within 10 cents of an egg mcmuffin and coffee from the local mcdonalds (and way better).
-
Ah, Starbucks breakfast sandwiches. This summer, probably about one morning each week, I've been getting Starbucks. Two sausage and cheese sandwiches, regular coffee (just black). Mmm.
-
Once in a great while I go to Starbucks. I'm not a huge fan of their coffee, though.
-
I've visited Starbucks once, and I drank a Caramel Macchiato which tasted pretty good. It's a shame there's only one Starbucks here in my country. It happens to be at the airport, so I'm not going to visit it very often. :D
-
usually I'll get a cafe americano. yum yum
-
Iced green tea sweetened with lemonade and a piece of chocolate chip banana bread = heaven.
-
Yeah, their iced tea lemonades are the best them.
-
Peppermint Mocha with an extra shot of espresso
-
Low calorie coffee frappucino...
That way I can justify having a buttload of cream on top.
-
I go to Starbucks maybe twice a month. I usually get a Chocolate Mocha frappucino w/ banana, or like a vanilla latte, hot or cold depending on my mood.
Actually I was at starbucks yesterday and got a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappucino. It was delicious. But so fucking expensive.

Clover machines don't make drip coffee, they make French Press.

This.
Starbucks is just awful.
We have Costa in the UK ( I work at one ) and their coffee is delicious.
Should point out that i've been to Starbucks on more than one occasion and never been happy with the drinks, the decor or the seating or the music on the PA. It ranks bottom of my coffee chains.
-
In this world there is great coffee, average coffee, and awful coffee, as well as numerous other subjective subdivisions you could sort them into. It's funny how coffee snobs call Starbucks "awful" or other similar things when they really mean "I like my preferred brand better and Starbucks is really just average imo."
Honestly, I'm sure there are lots of brands out there that are in fact better but if you think Starbucks is truly awful, then you probably would consider 90% of the coffee out there to be caffeinated sewage.
-
Well i've tried really cheap instant coffee that I think tastes better than Starbucks.
My ranking would go thus :
1.Costa
2.Caffe Nero
3.Good Instant Coffee
4.Bad Instant Coffee
5.Starbucks

Well, Starbucks does not make good coffee, they make consistent coffee. :p Their espresso over the years has gone more automatic instead of personally done. The goal is to make it the same everywhere, instead of training people to do a difficult art well. Of course, a bad espresso maker is worse than an automatic process so it has upsides.
I won't buy drip coffee there, most chains make too many cardinal sins (typical issues with drip coffee not hand poured) in making it so it doesn't turn out well compared to what you can do for cheaper at home. Again, you'll find the same tasting product everywhere, but you lose the chance for a truly great cup. Places with the Clover are worthwhile, though, I doubt I'll even have a piece of art ($10,000 machine) like that in my home. :lol Just wish I could supply my own coffee beans for it instead of using their weeks since roasted beans.

Had one of those today. Sooo good.
-
I had another one this morning as well. They're rather addictive.
-
What other drinks are similar to it?
-
Any of the flavored lattes, I guess. Flavors vary by store, but mine has toffee nut, which is damn good. Absolutely nothing compares to the gingerbread lattes though. I will probably buy one every day when they come back.
-
I think the one I go to has toffee nut. I'm going to have to get that after I stay up all night for this o-chem midterm.
-
The other ones I really love are Hazelnut and Caramel. I went somewhere that had raspberry before, and that was just...odd.
-
That sounds disgusting, wtf.
-
It wasn't horrible, it was just weird. It was a neat change of pace for the time, since I had just gotten a little bit bored with the flavor rotations at my place. I always make it a point to ask about the flavors whenever I go to a new Starbucks just in case they have something interesting.
-
Not specifically Starbucks, but I like mochas with hazlenut.
-
I only have it when I'm at a local ski resort, and when I do, I have Hot Chocolate. (sounds like it should be on one of those "the most interesting man in the world" pictures :lol )
-
It's holiday season!
Has anyone tried the Eggnog Latte? Eggnog is one of the few thing that I loathe but I just got this drink for the sake of being a starbucks completionist and it was really tasty! Would recommend. :tup
-
Eggnog is awesome!
Congratulation on reaching post number 'Murica!
-
Not anymore. I mean, I never really went there a lot anyway--maybe once a month or so. But I would almost always get a mocha. And I can't really have those anymore, because I can't really have much sugar anymore or else I'll die.
-
I always get a triple grande one-pump mocha, extra hot with whip. On days where I'm feeling particularly decadent...I'll make it a mocha breve...
-

Wait are you serious? :(
-
Unfortunately, yeah.
-
:-\ So sorry to hear that...
-
My default lately has been Pumpkin Spice Latte. So good.
-
After trying all the holiday flavors, that's the best one IMO.
-
Nope. I literally hate their products.
I define myself as a coffee addict and believe me starbucks does no good for me. Maybe just because there are many alternative tastes and brands over starbucks at Turkey. When I compare them starbucks fails so bad.
-
Chai latte with soy. Judge me.
-
The time of year when Gingerbread Lattes are around is better than the second coming of Christ.
-
I boycott Starbucks because they only sell horrible tasting and overpriced bottles of water. I shit you not.
-
I usually get Cafe Mochas when I go to starbucks. I used to get their coffee of the day and those weren't too bad.
-
So, for you Starbucks fans, looks like they're now selling their own coffee makers (https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?sku=40838441&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=CO_0lIfXkrQCFedxOgodSnEAig)

They are, yeah, they've been bugging us for weeks now to demo the thing to us. Totally not interested though, at home I have a regular percolator, and at work the very point of walking to Starbucks is half the reason we go.

Looks like they were sold out of 'em once you got there :(

Went to Starbucks today, got Hot Chocolate. :tup

I don't care if its -20 degrees celsius here in my Northern Canadian town, I'm still getting my Iced Caramel Macchiato :)
-
Luckily, my University has one on campus. I always get a Chai Latte - venti/large. We all know the Chai Latte takes precedence over drum solos.
Sadly, my Chai Latte today (and last of the semester) was quite frankly awful. Worst I have had there. Lukewarm and all syrupy at the bottom. Me no likey.
-

I seriously don't get why people do that. I was out on the coldest day of the entire year in my shitty-ass state, and some crazy bitch was sitting outside drinking an iced frappucino. It was one of the more peculiar things I've witnessed in my life.
-
I don't see the appeal of buying iced coffee at all. You chug it down in like a minute. Whereas with hot coffee, you're forced to take your time. I guess I'm just not disciplined enough in the art of drinking coffee.
-
It's not interesting. I always drink iced coffee or milkshake in winter.
-
I love iced coffee in the summer when it actually makes sense.
