Might be taking the kids to this one!
Can't wait for the show!!
-
ONE PROBLEM...Santana is scheduled that night at the Pavilion. :\
https://www.livenation.com/Bank-of-America-Pavilion-tickets-Boston/venue/8310
-
The DT site lists the date as 7/16. (I had the same reaction when I tried to find on sale info from live Nation...)
-
Oh OK. That makes more sense!
-
Wife can't go but I'll get a buddy to go!
-
Anyone hear anything about an on sale date? Can't find this show listed ANYWHERE.
-
Not listed yet.
-
When the hell are they going to post the date!!! >:(
-
I don't know. I've been checking every day. :-\
-
I don't know. I've been checking every day. :-\
Me too. I wonder if somethings going on and they are looking for another venue?
-
On sale Friday, finally. Though best seats are 84 with service charges...yikes.

Sect 3 row M
Same here!
We have seats 2 & 3!
What do you have?
-
14 and 15
Also how do the numbers go from left to right in the isles? I can't remember?
-
Hopefully 2@3 are on the aisle. I sat near there in 2007 . I will have to check that stub when I get home.
-
I can't go online at work to check it. Had to go old school and order tickets on the phone.
-
Just checked online King. Seat 1 is on the aisle closest to the center. I hope that person doesn't show up so we can have the aisle.
-
That would be cool. I wouldn't put a bet on it though. We can still knock a few down on the outskirts of the venue. I love that place.
-
We'll see you there!!
-
Sec 2 Row A Seat 4! Can't wait.....

Sec 2 Row A Seat 4! Can't wait.....
You suck! :P
I had front row for the '09 show!
-
dude, I totally know..sucking on Myung's hair sweat from the front row! Wait, is that a good thing?
I ducked out of work and ran down to the Orpheum at 9:50 to get tickets. I thought there'd be a line or something, but I was the only one there!
-
I for one can't wait for this!
I'm a total Dream Theater newbie and this will be my first time seeing them live, which has me even more psyched.
We're sitting in the last row of the covered section of the pavilion on the left (the exact section and seat number escapes me at the moment - I could go grab my tickets from the other room but am too lazy), but I'm sure in a venue like this there's not a truly "bad" seat in the house. I've heard it's a great place, and not that big of a place, although I've never personally been there.
-
It's a fun venue on a summer day. I like walking in the GA section behind the covered area, checking out the harbor. Nice salty breeze.
-
Yeah I love the venue. It was better when it was at where the new court house is now. (You drive right buy it to get to the new location)
I don't like the bars around there though. Crap beer and jammed because there is only a few around.
-
One week from tomorrow!! :metal
-
I'm driving from Connecticut for this concert. Does anybody know where is the closest parking to the venue?

Every time we've been there, we park in the hotel garage that is basically across the street.
-
They are expensive but there are a few that are cheaper that are a few blocks away.

I avoid parking in Boston whenever possible--you can park at the T stop (Riverside station) in Newton for about 5 bucks and take the train in.
From a fellow CT resident.
-
I'm getting psyched for the show. 4 more days!!
-
That garage is the Seaport Hotel, I think. The last time we were there it was 17 bucks. There are very few places in boston with easier parking than B of A Pavilion.
-
One more day! :metal
-
There too!

A wild Rumborak appears! I recall that you weren't sure whether to go or not. What made you choose for the first option? :)
-
I go to so few concerts, it would be ridiculous for me to not go. Also, all of my band members will be there, and we have not been in one spot for over a year.

-
There's gonna be a GA area for this one?
-
By "GA" they mean the back area behind the seating. Where all the convenience stands are located.

Going with my best bud. He at one time was a touring musician (drummer). Going to Sunset Grill first.
Today is the day bitches!!! :metal

Just go back. Got to get my butt to bed. A few observations.
James sounded great.
Mangini is a beast of a drummer and is so fun to watch.
Lots of energy from the crowd tonight.
Hilghights, Lost Not Forgotten, The Test That Stumped Them All & Breaking All Illusions.
Bumped into Rumbo and TAC. Wish we had more time to talk.
-
Nice, dude! :2metal:
You best git yerself to bed, though. Nighty night! :)
-
Recap in the morning bit suffice to say that:
My 17th time seeing them since'92 and this might have been their best performance i've ever seen.
SeeIng Kingshmegland AGAIN was beyond cool but as soon as we started talking the lights went out for DT.
TDEN kicked total ass. I know it has it's detractors but I maintain that they've never seen it live!
3 Fullers's ESB, 3 Calsberg 's and a shot of Cold Gin (@Guitar Cozmo) since I've been home watching the Sox replay. Time for bed! ;D
Oh yeah, James OWNED the fuc#ing stage like I've NEVER seen before!
-
26th show last night. Pulled Section 2 Row A Seat 1 on Ticketmaster at 2:00PM yesterday! :metal Awesome show. They dedicated the show to Jon Lord which was really cool. I thought for sure they would have played Perfect Strangers last night but they stuck to the set. Highlights, LNF, AFIL, TDEN.
Not sure if this has been discussed in other threads but I was really surprised that they are sampling MP's vocals from some of the older stuff. I could hear it clear as day on War Inside My Head, also JP forgot to sing so that tipped it off.
The security were all over people trying to take pictures. Same as what I read in other threads. Even with my iPhone, they would come running over and tell me to stop. Anyhow, amazing show, so cool to be that close, haven't been that close since the old club shows back on I & W.

LaBrie fucking owned last night. Pretty amazing to steal the show from the other 4 guys.
Mangini was a BEAST on TTTSTA.
-
Wow..I'm AWAKE!
Morning comes too early...
A few thoughts..
-Yes they dedicated the night to Jon Lord between 6:00 and TDEN.
-Jordan came out with a long coat on. I'd never seen it before.
-The intro to TSCO was stellar. People say that these kinds of moments went out with MP, but this was just incredible. JR had a red droogie hat and JP put on a cowboy hat for this. ( soory if this is known..I haven't watched any youtube of this leg)
-TDEN was incredible. As I said last night, anyone that has seen this song live HAS to appreciate it.
-James was incredible He dropped out once during Surrounded, but otherwise he freaking nailed it. :hefdaddy
-Might've been the best DT show I have ever seen. I was not in love with the setlist, but I was converted. The Lovely Mrs. TAC and I went out for some air and drinks during TROAE and War/Test.
Here's a pic of us on the water during War/Test
(https://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z246/TACPics/027.jpg)
BTW, this is a great venue. Right on the water near the airport with a great view of the skyline.
It was great to see a friendly face like Kingshmegland's at the show. I wish we had more time, man.
Kirksnosehair missed a good one!
The band was tight and into it. James owned the stage. He was spectacular.
Anyway, the best part of the night was this:

It was an awesome night. The guys were just amazing. The highlights for me were TITL, LNF, BIA, TSCO, Metropolis pt.1 and the guitar/keyboard leading up to TSCO were amazing, much longer than the ones I saw in europe.
I had a really bad seat row 16 right next to the aisle, so I easy to spot by security  for a moment I tried to move to back of the pavillion where the plenty of free seats, but not even there could I record without getting noticed by security.
Managed to get the whole Metropolis pt.1. Guess security couldnt care less at the end of the show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huUq2q3d928&lc

TAC, you are seriously wearing the 96 shirt? :omg:
-
Gaaah, I want a DVD of this tour now!
-
TAC, you are seriously wearing the 96 shirt? :omg:
Yes , good eye.
Oh and I forgot, Mangini did that part in AFIL with ONE hand!
-
That was crazy, yeah.
Good to see so many familiar people at the concert!!

-
TAC. So cool you met Mangini. He was a beast and I love watching him play with his unique set up on drums. He brought a new energy to them live. James sounded so good. The best I've heard his voice since the I&W tour.
I wish we had a few more minutes to talk. I figured we saw each other and then the lights went down. :lol I guess I shouldn't complain. they were right on time.
-
Totally enjoyed Crimson Projekct btw. Awesome stuff.

Yup, something so different. So much to watch too.
-
killer show. not sure where i'd rank it among my 10 DT shows but certainly near the top. JlB and JP both sounded as good as i've ever heard them. my highlights...
finally seeing 6:00 (anything from AWAKE is holy grail material for me)
the extended JR nasty keys-led section of DEN
Lost not Forgotten...the middle section...so great....
that slight increase in tempo for Fortune, which really made it urgent
the breathless segue from Angels into War...WHOA!
Test, which seemed to have an extended end section. Mangini...just amazing.
the JR/JP Spirit-inspired duet. WOW. can't believe people haven't raved about it more. jesus!
Spirit itself, so moving.
My first self-contained Metropolis since Worcester Palladium 04.
and our totally centered seats, right in front of the sbd. incredible sound, mellow folks, great sightlines.
Crimson was fun. I've seen quite a few KC shows since the Discipline tour in 82 so it wasn't revelatory, but it was a lot of fun.
DT fans should not miss this tour!
-
what time did DT go on? im going to the NY show and the ticket says 8. just wanna plan. thanks

in Boston Crimson went on early, about 7:20.

Yeah, they started with a drum jam, even before official start time of 7:30.

Listened to the bootleg (it's on dime!). Easily the best show of the US leg I've heard so far.
