Title: Your Personality Type
Post by: Metal on December 10, 2011, 05:02:42 PM
Anyone ever done one of these?  This is a well known test that goes off of all sorts of different criteria.  It will be curious to see if there is a higher percentage of a specific type on DTF.

I got ENTJ.

Test:  https://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

If anyone wants more info:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers-Briggs_Type_Indicator

I think I took this once already, for shits. I can't quite remember the results, but it may have been ISTJ

will retake and post my results, the test's interpretation of my personality, and my level of agreement.

EDIT: Re-took the test and I am ISTJ

Introverted     Sensing   Thinking   Judging

Strength of the preferences %
22   38   12   44

Short summary of this personality type:

"In general, the ISTJ has a tremendous amount of potential. Capable, logical, reasonable, and effective individuals with a deeply driven desire to promote security and peaceful living, the ISTJ has what it takes to be highly effective at achieving their chosen goals - whatever they may be."

(full description here: https://www.personalitypage.com/ISTJ.html
and here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISTJ:   )

I agree with parts of this, but not all. I don't think I'm quite as driven in my desires as it seems to suggest, nor am I as effective a worker, although I do try to promote security and a calm, quiet living. I also try to look at everything with as much logic and reason as I can (although I am sometimes biased; I ain't perfect)

Got INTP although I vaguely remember doing that kind of tests before and getting INTJ or ISTJ. I've become much more open and socialising in the recent years. Some of those questions I wasn't a hundred percent sure and I feel I could have answered better if instead of jobs it had asked me about university life.

I wouldn't go that far.

Dude, the reason is because some traits are stronger than others (look at the numbers corresponding to each). I flip-flop between introvert and extravert a lot because I'm sort of in-between (it really depends on the day/my mood/etc., I have been called both by people), whereas I always get intuitive and feeling because those are just much clearer in my personality. I have found it to be pretty accurate with me.

I got ISFJ with pretty low numbers for all of them. The description doesn't fit me at all, though.

"ISFJs are often unappreciated, at work, home, and play. Ironically, because they prove over and over that they can be relied on for their loyalty and unstinting, high-quality work, those around them often take them for granted--even take advantage of them. Admittedly, the problem is sometimes aggravated by the ISFJs themselves; for instance, they are notoriously bad at delegating ("If you want it done right, do it yourself"). And although they're hurt by being treated like doormats, they are often unwilling to toot their own horns about their accomplishments because they feel that although they deserve more credit than they're getting, it's somehow wrong to want any sort of reward for doing work (which is supposed to be a virtue in itself). (And as low-profile Is, their actions don't call attention to themselves as with charismatic Es.) Because of all of this, ISFJs are often overworked, and as a result may suffer from psychosomatic illnesses."

I am a doormat plan and simple I get walked all over and just don't see the signifance in fighting about it

The trick I think is, while I enjoy being around others, I always need a good amount of time by myself, because that's when I recharge my batteries.

ok fair enough.   :)

You always gave off more of the "inventor" vibe to me, which is more of an ENTP than an INTP thing...of course, it's also sometimes tough to gauge these things online...and it's a continuum, rather than binary.  Though I do sit very far to the "I" side of things, so I tend to lose sight of that.

I haven’t taken the test in a long time, but I firmly identify as EXFP. (X means that my N and S are balanced…which I’ve been told is impossible, but meh)

I was probably more naturally an ESFP growing up, but some of the most influential people in my life (my father, my best friend and others) were all hard core N’s. They were constantly challenging me (or rather, encouraging me to challenge myself) to view things outside of my own spectrum. So I adopted a lot of N type of outlook and thinking.
