Hi Everyone,
I need a favor, what other sites do you enjoy that are sorta like DTF with a fun community?
Im kinda like ummmm "older" and I dont know "puters" that well .. what is that Im looking to google to come up with sites like this place is it that this is an "org"? or a "forum".. what is this format called here?
I like Bacon, Music and Current Events, News...

the .org in this site's url is just a matter of the fact that domain name was available. dreamtheaterforums.com was still owned by the other forum at the time, that's the only reason we're not .com as far as I'm aware.
You'd be looking for forums. Just Google "....... forum" with whatever topic of forum you want to find, I suppose. Not sure you'll find a topical bacon music forum though!

Probably because a lot of people prefer to post stuff on twitter and facebook now, as opposed to trying to find a good forum for their favorite band, interest or whatever. And just about any band or interest now has something on twitter and/or facebook, and I would imagine that most people would rather dabble on those sites rather than take the time to sign up for a forum they aren't likely to spend a lot of time at anyway.

GameFAQS has some pretty cool forums. Used to chill on PotD, back in my day. I still stop in a few times a year. I started frequenting one of the (very NSFW) off shoots for a while. It was kind of like the site-that-shall-not-be-named. Except a very small close knit group. And an actual forum, rather than an imageboard. I never posted a lot on the offshoot, but it's pretty great to lurk and all that. I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to link it. I mean, you have to sign up to see things, and most NSFW is warned. But things can be a little strict here. I'll err on the side of caution for now.

This. On top of that, a lot of new "specialized" forums simply allow members to post via logging in with their facebook/twitter info. The Game of Thrones forum is that way.

I am apart of what I'd consider a tighter community only for the reason that the people there (who has stayed) are all smart minded and creative though the community was based on a very niche subject. It's been going strong for over 12 years and only recently has a timeline of past events made present showcased the radical history of the forum. DTF and 5/8 has had a few but I'll be damned if I don't remember the ones on this other forum as much.
That being said I'm still most active in DTF and at times 5/8. I've dabbled in others but those just can't compare.

Incorrect, I like to speak with a mixed eclectic group, just like my friends in reality.. there is no fun in just being with a group who nods their head in agreement.. I like debate when Im in the mood for politics...and I am not "far right " LOL...
again Im looking for a fun group to discuss all sorts of subjects, if I was looking for just one subject to discuss that would be an easier find..
