Yeah, they're not heavy metal, prog, or any what related to Dream Theater. But they were one of the world's most influential indie bands, and I want to see if there are any more Pixies fans among us Dream Theater fans.
So what's your favorite album, and why? In my opinion, I love Doolittle. Lovering's vocals on "La La Love You" are some of my favorites, "Debaser", "Wave of Mutilation", and "Monkey Gone to Heaven" are some favorites too. Just wish I was around when all of this was new, being born 10 years after one of indie's greatest albums was recorded kind of sucks.

Bump.
Been getting into this band over the last couple of weeks and it's really some amazing stuff. Doolittle is a perfect album, and Surfer Rosa is excellent as well. :tup

I really hope it's better than their last, because that was a huge disappointment.

The single sounds promising. It just didn't seem like the songs on Indie Cindy had much reason to exist, whereas this does (if that makes sense).

Wow, thanks for the heads up! Didn't know anything about new Pixies music!

Really? I loved Indie Cindy - it was my favourite album of 2014. I never skip any songs - to me, it's one of those solid, all-killer-no-filler albums... like System Of A Down's Mezmerize.

I don't think I liked a single song from it. But I can kinda give it a pass because it was essentially 3 EPs shoved into an album and with the general reception those EPs got, I didn't expect much from the album. I hope this is more like a "traditional" album.
-
Yeah, I mean What Goes Boom and Bagboy were fine, but overall the album is a slog. But considering the situation my faith in a decent Pixies album isn't all gone.
-
Doolittle was musically a very innovative album.

New song, "On Graveyard Hill" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5fWtn3qF9w
I'm encouraged! Got a bit of a Bossanova vibe to it.
New album coming in September
