I'm considering going to this one rather than Pittsburgh (I'm coming from Ohio) since the Periphery/DT bill is just too good to pass up! One of my roommates lives in Albany now so I'm not going to have to brave the ~8-hour drive post concert.
Anybody else going?
-
I'm planning on going but I don't have anyone else to go with so worst case is I take the bus there and wait until there's a bus that goes back.
-
I'll be in the seventh row. This'll be my first concert ever!
-
I will be there with my oldest daughter. Orchestra Row R Seats 101 & 102 I believe.
-
Just bought my ticket! EE 27.
-
Looks like TGD has been dropped from the setlist. I knew I'd get screwed. On the other hand, can't complain if I get both Outcry and BAI.
-
Hey, I'm thinking of going to this show. But I'd like a seat very close to the stage (first 5-6 rows). If anyone has an extra ticket they are looking to sell, please let me know and let me know what're looking cost wise.
EDIT: Oops, I forgot about the buy/sell thread. My bad.

No, no you can't!
-
Imma be there.

You picked a helluva first concert. This could spoil you for many other bands. But you are going to love it. Don't miss the beginning. It's fun!
Tip: Watch Inception before going to the concert.

I think I am going. How's this for sick?: I have a nephew in Periphery and a brother-in-law in Dream Theater. I'm pretty sure that makes it a mandatory attend.
-
FYI, I ended up getting "ticket happy" and buying two tickets in a quest to get the best seat possible. Now I need to dump one that's a Row 9 orchestra aisle seat. It's the closest seat available that's not way off to the right or left. If anyone here is interested let me know.
See you at the show! :metal

They released some great tickets this morning. I went Tuesday (in NJ) and was on the fence about this one... but when I saw 2nd row seats in the right center section, I just couldn't pass them up.

Lol, you're gonna be sitting right next to me. I got the same row this morning.
-
I will be at this show. I hope they keep the C setlist they've been running with. BAI > Outcry > TGD.
-
If anyone is a big fan of Periphery that is going to the show tonight, please post their setlist as well. I'm really interested to see what they play during their opening slot.

What about Racecar? I hope they squeeze that one in to show the DT fanbase what's up with Periphery.
-
hah how could i miss icarus lives? so sick of that song by now. racecar would be a little too much to give people that arent fans.
last guess:
new groove
letter exp
jetpacks
buttersnips
totla mad
frak
icarus
might be room for all new materials in there

Why do they do that? One would think that in order to get the best seats you should be online or on the phone at 10am the day tickets go on sale.
-
They need to reserve a bunch of priority seats for the Tour Package. If the tour packages don't sell at $150+, then they cut their losses and try to at least dump them at regular price shortly before the show.

Periphery and DT setlists? Anyone?
-
Damn, that was great. Like I said, it was my first concert, so I have nothing to compare to, but really that was something. There was just so much *power* there in the sound, even in songs that I normally don't even like very much like Caught in a Web. I think my favorite performance was Fatal Tragedy.
My complaints were that JM was only sorta kinda audible, and JLB could have been a bit clearer sometimes. I noticed nothing at all wrong with his pitch, which had been a slight concern for me; on the contrary he sounded excellent. Also, the animation they played at the beginning, during the Inception music, was awesome.

bump.

Here was DT's:
1. Bridges in the Sky
2. These Walls
3. Build Me Up, Break Me Down
4. Endless Sacrifice
Drum Solo
5. Ytse Jam
6. Wait For Sleep
7. Far From Heaven
8. Outcry
9. On The Backs Of Angels
10. Caught In A Web
11. Through My Words
12. Fatal Tragedy
13. Breaking All Illusions
-------------------------------
14. Pull Me Under
-
Cool set. Someone on Periphery's page said that it was nice to see Racecar live. So we know they played Racecar. I would really like to know what else they played.
-
Back. DT awesome as usual. Good LORD are Periphery AWFUL. I was considering looking into them what with the praise they get around here, consider that never happening. My ears are still bleeding.
-
So I guess we can assume that they will play both Outcry and BAI for the rest of the tour? I certainly hope so.
-
I'm not 100% sure on the order, but this was Periphery's setlist:
New Groove
Letter Experiment
Jetpacks Was Yes!
Light
Buttersnips
Icarus Lives!
Racecar
They killed it, it was a great show! Racecar was especially awesome, such a great closing song. So awesome to see two of my favorite bands on the same stage! DT looked like they were having the time of their lives, too!

Periphery is fucking awesome. Way better than Trivium. I saw them a few weeks ago before I saw DT and they were solid live.
-
very surprised they played racecar. such a good live song

Can't wait to see both bands tonight!

I second that JLB was absolutely tip-top, but the guitar and drums were SO FRIGGIN loud you could scarcely hear him at times. Great show, but I was really bummed that I missed out on TGD. Also, sad to say the place was far from sold out.
-
I also want to say that seeing MM live with DT for the first time removed any doubt in my mind that they made the absolutely correct choice.
-
It sounds like the same sound issues at the Moore theater in Seattle. The Band was great and on fire, but I wanted to choke the sound guy the first three songs. They sounded absolutely perfect at the Progressive nation tour in Seattle, I wonder if they have a different guy running sound that favors loudness over clarity. On this tour, James and John myung were too low in the mix. I think the main issue was the EQ on the kick drums. Whenever MM did double bass parts, it sounded like a deep annoying humm or feedback rather than a nice tight bass drum sound.
