oooooooooooo
-
This sounds pretty awesome
-
This might actually be very enjoyable. Drum and Guitar work is fucking incredible, and of course, the bass as well. I'll check out the full thing when it's released.
-
Guthrie Govan is awesome, Marco Minnemann is good from what I know, and Bryan Beller PLAYED FOR FUCKING DETHKLOK. What's not to love?
-
This is actually a really good combination of artists, and they seem to be able to work together quite well.
-
This sounds pretty sweet! Govan is amazing from what I've heard (I like his work on the GPS album Window To The Soul), and Beller's credits include several James LaBrie solo albums, and Marco is just Marco!
I'll have to add this to the (massive) list of albums coming out in September that I want to get...yikes.
Also, they're touring in September/October and will be in Baltimore! I may have to make it out to see these guys if the album is as killer as the samples make it seem!
-Marc.
-
I will check this out when I'm not at work. Guthrie is fucking incredible.
-
I originally thought the title said "Aristocats" and thought it was going to be related to the film. I am disappointed
-
I just Minnemann'd
Guthrie Govan is one of my favorite guitarists ever, I have to get this... preview was EPIC
-
So I pre-ordered the album and got my Digital Download earlier today. Gotta say, this is some tasty rock-trio jazz/fusion/rock!!!
I love proggy instrumental bands, and this is no exception. I've been anxious to hear this once I heard Marco was on board, but with the addition of Guthrie, it topped it, and it totally lives up to my expectations. This album goes EVERYWHERE, and in a good way. It's very frantic but also very smooth at the same time. This is all after one listen, so there will definitely have to be a lot more, but this is pretty good stuff! I would enjoy more albums from them!
This is one of 2 rock-trio releases I've looked forward to this fall, the other being Levin-Torn-White, which promises some interesting pieces (of course with Tony Levin involved, it's gonna be good).
-Marc.

FTFY.
I will listen to this as soon as I can. It seems to be some pretty good shit.
-
Also, did anyone else notice that their initials are all the same first-and-last? Coincidence? G.G., B.B. and M.M.
Weird... :rollin At least they didn't go around calling themselves BMG Music lol
-Marc.
-
:lol
Hadn't noticed.

He used to teach at ACM in Guildford before I started. He's not there now :(
-
Not really a fan of Guthrie's work with Asia and GPS, but I'll likely pick this up at some point due to the other guys and the promise of fusion.
-
Just got the album today. It is very interesting. Some jazz, some blues, some rock.
-
Listening right now on Spotify, really digging it. The riffs in Sweaty Knockers (best title ever as well) are so good!
-
Just found out about this band whilst on a bit of a youtube adventure last night.
Everyone loves Goven's guitar playing right? and that is definitely a kick ass rhythm section no matter how you look at it.
I'll just post a link to their album preview and be done with it, I think they are great. Nice quirky instrumental prog
https://youtu.be/bF1ocQwrYJw
-
Wow. That was very impressive. :metal
-
Just found the whole album on spotify, even though the album isnt actually released until next week (in the UK at least)
It does not disappoint.

We had a thread already...
We have this STICKY thread for a reason: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=27964.0 (https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=27964.0)
Anyway, the album wasn't perfect for me - it was good though.

This. Dammit Tim, pay attention! Threads merged.
Anyway I'm still really enjoying the album, it's so much fun!

Dammit, I always look straight past the stickies because they change so infrequently, serves me right for being a minimal poster for the past year but still not really checking those stickies...
I have listened to the album a couple of times today, really great music. Like the best bits of prog rock and jazz colliding!
Anyway, the album wasn't perfect for me - it was good though.
-
Guthrie did a 2 hour talk/clinic at my college today, it was so good. He's a bit mental, quite funny and a fucking deity on the guitar
-

Sounds really promising! :metal
-
Fucking A :2metal:
-
I ordered their deluxe live dvd/2cd with shirt. Really awesome stuff. Cant wait to preorder their new album. Boing
-
Can't wait for new Aristocrats stuff, I also can't wait to see them live in July.
-
That vid was so awesome, looking forward to the new album!
-
Awesome. :metal
-
I just recently discovered The Aristocrats and it seems like perfect timing. I love the first album. I'm very excited for this new album! sounds awesome!
-
The live dvd is pretty awesome.
-
I wish I was more into this, given how much I love their involvement in SW. But, the lack of hooks just doesn't keep me captured long enough.
-
Can't wait for new Aristocrats stuff, I also can't wait to see them live in July.
August for me, and I'm blowing off Winery Dogs and Yes to do it.
-
I hope their scheduled show at the now shutdown-for-renovations Station 4 in St.Paul, MN is able to be moved to another venue by the date of the show in August.
-
Album preview online!

-
Just discovered this band myself! Listened to the self-titled today. I'm very impressed -- this is a true supergroup, and the music is very good and expertly performed. (I'm not a huge fan of Beller's reliance on effects myself, but that's a matter of personal preference more than anything.)
-
My body is ready.
-
Can't wait to see them in 7 days!
-
In their Facebook page, there´s a link for streaming the complete title track.
Really interesting song IMO.
-
Just heard it, I like it more than most songs on the first album. I really like the first album but from the snippets I've heard so far I'll love this album.
-
Just heard the new album. Miles better than the first, can't wait to see them Friday!
-
The new record is streaming for the next 24 hours here: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/the_aristocrats_stream_new_album_culture_clash_in_full.html
It's AWESOME! :hat
-
Just heard the new album. Miles better than the first, can't wait to see them Friday!
Right. It has more "metal" and Dance of the Aristocrats is a great opener, they nailed that song when I saw them live. Hope they'll do another European tour and come close to my town, they're great artists!
-
I like the new album, it's clear that they have a better understanding of each other. Everything sounds more cohesive and in place than in the first album.
-

I completely agree with this. I liked the debut but this one is a step up.
-
This album is easily one of the best of this year, so good, so concise. I hope there are many more albums to come.
-
Just saw them last night, one of the best shows I've ever been to. Small venue, about 100 people. They are all machines, Guthrie is just unbelievable as a guitarist.
-
The new album is amazing.
-
Listening to it right now. Not too bad, I dig some tunes, especially the opener.
-
Counting the days until Saturday.....
-
You're in for one hell of a show ytse. I walked away saying to myself that is probably the most talented rock trio I'll ever see.
-

Well, I wasn't blown away. But they were very enjoyable. Apparently they had some vehicle trouble before the gig, so that may have affected the performance. They seemed a little rough around the edges
Marco didn't disappoint. He was the primary reason I went. Definately richer for having had the experience.
Picked up the live album at the show. Place was nearly packed too in spite of Yestival and Winery Dogs playing the same night.
-
Wow they were literally perfect at my show, but it was the first show of the tour (I think).
-
I'm sure that no matter what I see Guthrie play - he just ends up shredding all over it as fast as he can. That's the main reason I don't like players like that...
I cannot even listen to Vai or Satch because you don't hear a finely crafted *song* with a nice melody. They can't not show off their chops.
-
I was also at the New Jersey show and they blew me away. Incredible show, with a phenomenal drum solo from Minnemann. If this was a bad night for them then I can't imagine how great they must be on a good night.
-

It WAS a great show. First time I've ever seen them. They has a lot of fun too it seemed like.
Heard great things about Govan (Although i've not been impressed with him in other contexts, He certainly has his own style. I certainly understand now why people fuss over him. And he did play a few very cool melodic solos. (I like Satch and Vai, and in this limited setting I don't think I'd compare him with that kind of style. He really forges his own path. The guy is a great talent and if I'd definately prefer him in this context rather than say....John Payne's Asia or GPS.
Of course I could be spoiled (Actually, I'm sure I am when it comes to music like that), I expected a bit more craziness than was delivered. I also expected the drum solo to be something like that so I'm probably major league spoiled. Seeing bands, like King Crimson or Zappa Plays Zappa or The Mahavishnu Project (not Orchestra) will do that to you I guess.
I'd certainly see them again.
-
I cannot even listen to Vai or Satch because you don't hear a finely crafted *song* with a nice melody. They can't not show off their chops.
gotta disagree with you there. Vai, and Satch in particular, both have great melody in their playing. obviously they show off their chops because they're very technical, but compared to most shredders out there (Jeff Loomis, MAB, Yngwie, etc..) they have far more melody in their music. for Satch I would recommend listening to one of his slower ballads, or "If I Could Fly", lots of melody there :tup
-
I'm not just talking about speed though :) It's like every Vai solo has to have a whammy bit - a tappy bit etc etc you know ?
Same with Satch. It's almost like they're going " well i'm known for being this super amazing guitarist - I need to prove that in every song. "
All i hear is the technique gone into it - not the actual emotion.
Same with Ken Brannagh & his acting :lol - All I hear is the training and not the acting.
-

I actually find Guthrie to be a little different, I do agree with you but he can show restraint, something that I've never seen Vai do live.
-
This just started showing up in my amazon "stuff you might like". How the hell did Amazon know I was reading DTF?

He did a sweet solo in Flatlands, so he's very capable of doing that, but I don't really think that is is style based only on my two hour experience. I'm really hoping I get a chance to see them again.
Satriani is very good at melody. There always seems to be at least a few of those on his albums.
I've got about 10 Vai albums (but nothing in the last 10 years or so) and Vai can be melodic too, but less so in my experience based on what I have. (I've never seen Vai live to know what he does there.)
I was going to listen to the live Aristocrats album that I bought Saturday on the way up to last night's Winery Dogs show, but I didn't burn it yet so I opted for the improv Liquid Tension bonus disc instead. Worked well with the torrential downpours for some strange reason.
-
I got both Aristocrats CD's in the mail today. They shall be played in the car tomorrow.
-
Just finished listening to the live Aristocrats double album that I bought at the gig last week.
Wow! I think I like it even more than the gig I was at. Guthrie's performance was a little more on the mellow side as well.
Is the new disc heavier or more metal than their previous work? If so, it might make sense for me to look into the earlier stuff first.
I really love the live album... a lot.
-
Yea the new stuff is heavier, the first album seemed a bit more out there.
-
Yea the new stuff is heavier, the first album seemed a bit more out there.
I've seen this term pop up a lot recently and I have not the slightest idea what it means. Can somebody explain?
-
Out there is kind of slang for meaning a bit trippy, wacky or crazy or unique.
Not generic or standard.
A bit experimental basically.

Wow, I can't begin to explain how wrong I find your statement(s). I'm no fan of Satriani so I won't comment on him, but damn, Steve Vai creates some of the most delicate and musical pieces that you ever hear on the guitar. I have everything he has ever done and his 7th songs especially just pour with emotion.
Even when he uses a specific technique like sweeping, he does it musically - he never just "shreds".
-
I should really check this out, MM is amazing (well, both of them).
-
Yea the new stuff is heavier, the first album seemed a bit more out there.
Seems like I'd prefer the first album even more, but for now I think i'm going to stick with "Boing, We'll Do It Live" for a while.
-
Personally I like the second album more, "Bad Asteroid" is such a monster song though.
-
I still haven't filed this live album away yet.
I guess the problem is finding out where to file it. Rock? Jazz? Avant Garde? I keep trying to sort out a fusion section, but that always ends up being more trouble than its worth and I put everything back the way it was due to questioning if its really fusion or does it just have elements of fusion.
I kind of have to pull out King Crimson at that point because it's really its own entity and then I get myself into trouble with the Levin, Bruford, Belew, Fripp and Wetton solo albums.
It never ends well.
-
I try to keep things simple when I tag up my albums so I put the first album as simply rock, I don't like getting into too many sub-genre's
-
Shit these guys are playing in 3 days here in town.
-
You better go see them! I don't know how much the tickets are (mine were $20 a piece) but they are well worth the time and money to see them.
-

$15 each. Problem is it's on a Sunday, doors at 10PM, show at 11PM. I'm too old for shows like that with work the next day. :censored
-
In case anyone was interested, here is an interview I did with Marco Minnemann last Friday in St. Paul
Lots of Aristocrats and LMR talk:

I try to keep things simple when I tag up my albums so I put the first album as simply rock, I don't like getting into too many sub-genre's
My sub-genres are Rock, Jazz, Advant-Garde, Classical, Soundtracks, Blues, Country, Various Artists and 60's,70's 80's 90's.
Eighty percent of what I have goes in the first three catagories so in one way it's pretty simple and in another it really isn't.
-
Oh....My....God.
They're coming to Albuquerque, and to a local pub.
-
You must see them!!!! Seriously, do it!
-
You must see them!!!! Seriously, do it!
I definately will. I saw 2/3s with Satriani and now can actually see Govan.
-
As much as I like Satch (seeing him a few times) Guthrie is just a different animal all together, his tone is unbelievable.
-
Yup, I got Boing...We'll Do It Live first and these guys have an amazing chemistry.
-
Yup, I got Boing...We'll Do It Live first and these guys have an amazing chemistry.
Still not a huge fan of Govan, but I appreciate him a lot more in this context.
-
I heard one song by them and I hated it. It was like listening to 3 kids at a jam night each showing off on their own and completely not listening to what anyone else is playing.
-
What song did you listen to?
Usually the easiest songs to get into are either "Bad Asteroid" or "Flatlands"
-

I think it was Boing ?
-
That's a pretty good track. I can see how the aristocrats are for everyone. Check those two songs out if you have time, if you like it, you like it.
-
I can see how theyre for everyone too...kotow must be on drugs, and not the right ones.
-
I've only heard a song or two by these guys, but I just found out they're coming to town soon... and playing at an awesome little bar just a few blocks away from me. I loved seeing Minnemann and Govan play with SW, and I'm really excited to see them play such a small venue.
-
Go check them out. I promise you won't be disappointed. They are phenomenal live.
-
I can see how theyre for everyone too...kotow must be on drugs, and not the right ones.
" You don't like exactly what I like - there must be something wrong with you. "
::)
-
That's perfectly valid internet reasoning.
-
Its cool. They're doing a chance to have donuts with them at an undisclosed location. You get one entry by signing up and it doubles if you find 4 posters that are posted all around town, I found two so far.
-
Go check them out. I promise you won't be disappointed. They are phenomenal live.
I believe it! And for $20 at an awesome little Grateful Dead bar? Fuck yeah.
-
the clever part was agreeing with Reaper that they are for everyone. well, 'cept for one, i guess.
anyway, just wanted to point out that even though there's obviously more improvisation than your average collection of songs, there's a crazy amount of composition going on (also far more than your average tuneage) and a TON of interplay (particularly evident live).
-
I found poster number 2...I'm guaranteed to have some donuts with them. I think hardly anyone else is doing this. But I'd love for albq to surprise me
-
Are they back on tour in the eastern US or is this just the western swing?
-
I might go check then out when they play in Bristol. I've been a fan of gg ever since I first picked up the guitar and was given a copy of "guitar techniques" which he used to contribute loads of stuff in.
-
Even though I'm not a huge fan of their music,I will try to see them live for the jams etc.
-
Are they back on tour in the eastern US or is this just the western swing?
Answered my own question. No east this time.
-
They'll be in Denver Monday :caffeine:
-
I just looked at the dates and sadly they are only playing south England on Monday and Tuesday night! Massive bummer, you would have thought they would do a London show on the weekend...
-
They'll be in Denver Monday :caffeine:
i road trip'd 16 hours south to denver once for dream theater. fuck i wish i could pull off that sort of thing now (like i'll ever have a chance to see these guys).
-
16 hours?! Where do you live?
-
16 hours?! Where do you live?
about 600 miles from there?
-
Haha holy shit. I won the donuts with Aristocrats contest. I had a feeling no one really did that.
-
16 hours?! Where do you live?
just about 16 hours north of there.
-
So... Canada?
Haha holy shit. I won the donuts with Aristocrats contest. I had a feeling no one really did that.
Awesome!! Take pics :D
-
:tup
when we decided to check out Six Degrees Of Inner Tourbulence, Denver was actually the closest place they were playing (we considered travelling further to Chicago to take in two shows but pussied out).
oh right, this is a The Aristocrats thread. um...Louisville Stomp slays. vintnage tone and fun as fuck (as i just mentioned in another thread).
-
Wow, and I complain that some folks don't come to Denver, but at least I'm not in the boonies :p
HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS! I'm pretty sure I'm wet after that show. Unbelievable. Their first ever show in Colorado, but I'm sure they'll come back after that crowd.
And I got to touch/talk to Marco.
::sigh::
-

Sounds like they didn't disappoint. Not that I expected them to.
Hopefully I'll have the chance to see them again myself.
-
Yeah, it was amazing! The friends I invited were very happy that I did so :)
-
It was cool hanging out with the guys and munching on some pig, chicken, and astronaut donuts. It was nice, the guys were very pleasent although Guthrie still had jet lag, but the other two were lively, telling jokes, and MM shared some interesting stories about Paul Gilbert and other guys they met at NAMM. I asked how they all got together and first met/jammed. Really good story.
-
So cool!! Pics??
-
Sadly, no pics.
I do recommend seeing them at their next stop though.
-
You can see pics here:

I like this one https://www.liverockin.com/dwta/images/IMG_0212.jpg :lol

Haha that is pretty funny. Guthries all "oooh really"
-
Not The Aristocrats but Marco and Bryan with Satch and Mike performing Satch Boogie pretty much as good as it gets:

Wow. That was excellent.
-
That was friggin' incredible!
-
Yeah I think i'll keep quiet about that... :lol
-
Yeah I think i'll keep quiet about that... :lol
???
-
I don't mind shredding when it's part of the song and works.
I can't stand it when it looks like every member is just shredding on their own and trying to get all the attention.
I've been to many jam nights like that :P
-

I didn't see that happening here, until the very end, the trashcan ending.
-
Fair enough but I'm not a big fan of songs where the whole song is one long shred fest.
-
What? It's Satch were talking about so of course his guitar lead is in focus but other than that nobody else is shredding. All they're doing is playing and grooving with eachother which leads to instrumental outburts here and there but that's what's playing together is all about.
-
Ehh. All I hear is Satch off in his own world. And what happened to the guy with thee green guitar half way through ? :P
He just left.
-

Probably went back to the keyboard, he does both

Yea that's Mike Keneally he plays both keys and rythm guitar.

I just effin love music.
That was so sweet.
-
Man, I'd love to see The Aristocrats again. I just checked their website for shits and giggles and they have four dates in a row scheduled in January at some place in San Pedro, CA. But that's it.
-
Oh hey, just did a search because I remembered there being a thread, and I'm the last person who posted in here. Last year. Just saw them last night at the same tiny venue and :hefdaddy
Anybody else catch this tour yet?
I was especially impressed to know that both Marco and Guthrie had some kind of flu and still were playing like total badasses. But I also washed the shit out of my hands after hugging Marco and shaking his hand :lol

-
Really like the quirckyness of this band, would love to see them live once.
-
Anyone off to see these guys in London? I'm going alone. The new album seems alright but hasn't really grabbed me at all yet, whereas Culture Clash is just brilliant the whole way through.
-
It hasn't really clicked with me either, the standouts for me are Jack's Back and Smugglers Corridor, those are great.
-
i just bought my ticket to see them in philly, it'll be my first time. Really looking forward to it since i was so bummed MM & GG weren't on the SW tour. Also just got the new album, need more time to digest it though
-
I've been debating this for a little while. It would only be a couple hour drive for me and I think I would enjoy them live quite a bit, but I've never actually looked into their music that seriously before (just a couple listens to each album). It's got more to do with instrumental music in general- very rarely grabbing me on a studio album. When I can engage with it in a live setting though, that's a different story. And I do really enjoy both Guthrie and Marco (don't know much about the other to be honest), so...
-
They're great no matter how familiar you are with the material. I saw them in 2013 not knowing ANY of their stuff and had a total blast. I still only have one album and only knew one song they played on Friday. It's all about the energy and dynamic they have- amazing.
I didn't know Bryan Beller either before seeing them but he's awesome. He's played with The Zappas, Vai, on JLB's solo work, and much more.
It hasn't really clicked with me either, the standouts for me are Jack's Back and Smugglers Corridor, those are great.
They played both of those in Denver- so good! I don't have the new album yet but have been meaning to buy it.
-
Well that's encouraging. I can definitely sense the energy you're talking about, after watching just a couple videos from their live shows on youtube.
I think I'll go ahead and get my ticket
-
I'm taking a shot in the dark and guess that this interview got missed by a lot of people in my interviews thread....
I interviewed Bryan Beller on Saturday to help plug their show tomorrow night in St. Paul. Lots of great info on the new album, Joe Satriani album and a new album from LMR (LEvin, Minnemann, Rudess) coming SOON!
https://youtu.be/efFOZ7sqlKQ (https://youtu.be/efFOZ7sqlKQ)

I've been waiting for someone/anyone to resurrect this thread since the new album came out.
'Twas one of my two most highly anticipated albums of the year (along with new BTBAM). and while it ain't quite the monster of an album that Culture Clash was, this fanboy's plenty satisfied.
anyway, if anyone's got a decent chance to see em, I'm not sure how you can pass it up...we spent a few weeks contemplating the feasibility of journey'ing 34 hours round trip to see em in Vancouver but ultimately couldn't pull it off :-(
-
Oh hey, just did a search because I remembered there being a thread, and I'm the last person who posted in here.

Nice!
I missed them the last time they came around. I've seen them once and would definitely see them again but I didn't have anything in the budget when they came through. Love the live album I have that I picked up at the show.
A lot of the concerts I've been going to lately have been "day of" decisions (Except for Rush of course.)
Last month we saw Ginger Baker's last gig on his US tour and last week it was The Stu Hamm Band with Alex Skolnick and Joel Taylor (Fusion bliss...you'd probably like them. Really great guys too. They patiently signed all my CD booklets.)
I'm really hoping Marco finds time for a solo tour.....
-
What's the merch for those who have seen this current tour?
Does the band hang around after playing?
-
Yes, the band hangs around (see above photo :P)... as for merch, I didn't get a chance to look!
-
They're gonna be here the day after Weird Al (taking my 6 year old daughter to see him). I didn't go to the last time they were around and was bummed about it. I might have to miss this one too due to closeness to another show (I don't like going back to back, jacks my hearing up for days).
-
I'm taking a shot in the dark and guess that this interview got missed by a lot of people in my interviews thread....
Awesome interview. New LMR will be great. Wish they could make it LMRG(ovan) - that would be a "DT Killer"!
-

LOL
Thanks. I just want to get a pic with the guys and maybe get my cds signed. Love this band!
-
Yeah, you shouldn't have a problem with that. They are super nice/friendly. I wish I could see them again in another city!
-
Been on a binge listening session lately of these guys. So good, especially the fact they pull this off live. Rubber chicken solo!

Funny, I've been listening to Erotic Cakes (Guthrie's solo album). Awesome album!
-
Erotic Cakes is phenomenal. There is some seriously good songwriting there.

There we go. Cool, can't wait for this one.
-
Awesome, hopefully they come around my neck of the woods again.
-
Sounds awesome but I still don't see a photo. :P
-
Not interested in the album, but I'd see them live again.
-
Their last album was their best yet in my opinion, definitely looking forward to hearing what they come up with this time!
-
So this is more Guthrie related then Aristocrats related but I came across a band that Guthrie played regularly with and still play occasionally with and jesus christ it's good. It's more fusion jazz with Guthrie going to shred city on occasion
The Fellowship - "Live at the Bassment Club"

Can't get enough jazz-fusion even if it's Govan.

The Aristocrats have a new album coming out next week on the 28th, titled You Know What...?. You can pre-order it HERE (https://www.hellomerch.com/collections/the-aristocrats) from their website.
I pre-ordered mine a couple weeks ago. I honestly had all but forgotten about this band and only ever picked up their first two albums, so I recently bought their third and enjoyed it a lot! I also ordered the Culture Clash Live set when I pre-ordered the new album, so I look forward to watching/listening to that as well!
-Marc.
-
Im glad they love New Mexico.
-
Looking forward to seeing them again, they were great last time.
-
Glad someone bumped this thread.
Need a favor. I'm not going to be catching this tour, but I'd like to get a copy of the vinyl single Marco did with Alex Lifeson.
If someone could pick that up for me I'd really appreciate it. I'd swap a few Rush 45s of something else for it. Thanks in advance.
-
Damn not coming around my area, I'd go to a Florida show if I wasn't getting married around that time

MORE DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED!

I imagine this is a band that is much more enjoyable in the live setting. I’m debating going to the Atlanta show.

Thanks for posting this, bought a ticket.

-
New album just dropped and it's pretty much in line with the previous efforts. I really like this band but I feel like I need another couple of listens to this one before passing judgement. Some songs are way more riff based than any of their previous efforts which is pretty cool and of course there are still the bits of humorous moments etc. Got tickets to see them twice on the upcoming European tour so I'm excited about that :)

Boing, We'll Do It Live! introduced me to these guys. And live is where it's at with these guys. It's more like making an album is an excuse to tour and play music. It's great seeing 3 guys whom enjoy playing their instruments jam together and make musical sounds. :lol I say musical sounds due to them having fun with music. Like this... I like them well enough and enjoy their music when I'm in the mood, but I don't listen to them very often, only when new albums come out.

Live is where this group shines. You sense and feel that connection between those three, and it makes for a very enjoyable show filled with great Music. It's just 3 guys having fun playing music and sharing it with everyone else who decides to attend a show.
I find myself listening to their live albums more as well.
-
Cool. I'll add this to the list.

I really loved seeing them live, just 3 dudes having a great time playing music. The energy was fantastic and seeing that kind of virtuosity in person left my jaw on the floor.

THE ARISTOCRATS WITH PRIMUZ CHAMBER ORCHESTRA - COMING ON JUNE 3RD!
Check out the visualizer video and preview the album track 'The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde'. Pre-orders are available now at various outlets here: https://linktr.ee/AristocratsBand
This new album reveals a lush and lavish musical reimagination and sonic reinvention of compositions from throughout the band’s catalog.
“This project began when we randomly stumbled upon a YouTube video of Poland’s Primuz Chamber Orchestra performing one of our songs, as reimagined by composer/arranger Wojtek Lemański,” the band says in a unified statement. “Their flawless execution of a highly challenging arrangement (which was startlingly inventive and yet remained entirely faithful to the spirit of the original composition!) inspired us to reach out and propose a collaboration.”
The Aristocrats conclude thusly: “We’re truly proud of the way this project turned out… and we’re profoundly grateful that serendipity somehow brought us all together for this collaboration. Enjoy!”
Sounds good, might have to get this one even though it's just orchestral arrangements of their previously released material.

That’s the name of our fifth studio album, coming out on February 16. There’s the big news. And there’s a story to it and everything. Plus some fancy new artwork.
Pre-orders will start in early January. There will be a standard CD, a “DUCK Deluxe”, and DUCK vinyl. We’ll be playing lots of tunes from DUCK on the USA West Coast mini-tour to celebrate the release. It’s all very exciting. :-)
You can read more about it in the press release below.
Thank you again for your support on the DEFROST tour while we worked hard to finish this new music for you!
Cheers to all,
The Aristocrats
*********
Renowned rock-fusion trio The Aristocrats are excited to reveal the album title and concept of their first studio album in five years: DUCK will be available in both standard and deluxe edition formats as well as vinyl on February 16th, 2024. The new concept album will be released via BOING Music, distributed via Hostile City Distro/MVD in North America. The trademark Aristocratic musical mayhem is rowdier than ever, but the band’s fifth studio album is truly like nothing else in their catalogue. DUCK is mixed by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect) and contains original character artwork by film animator Lance Myers (Space Jam, Anastasia, Quest For Camelot).
Of the inspiration for DUCK, The Aristocrats collectively explained, “It is the story of a web-footed Antarctic Island native fleeing a penguin policeman all the way to New York City… where considerable misadventure and danger await.” Of its genesis, they elaborated, “We’ve always been writing with a storytelling aspect in mind, and our live shows always include our stories behind the songs… But the stories had mainly been about us. Then Marco came into the studio with a song about a duck, and we all looked at each other and said, ‘What if all of stories for the songs on this album… happened to a duck? What’s that story about?’ And suddenly we had a concept album on our hands.”
DUCK will be available in both standard and deluxe editions. The standard edition features the original CD, whilst the deluxe edition contains the original CD along with a USB DUCK drive with behind-the-scenes footage, demos and more, a DUCK pass laminate with QR code for bonus features and a custom Aristocrats-branded lanyard. DUCK will also be available in 180-gram double vinyl.
Coinciding with the release of DUCK, The Aristocrats will headline select dates on the West Coast of the United States. Please see below for the itinerary (click the link in the comments to purchase tickets.)

So apparently the album has been out a few days but I can't find any reviews?
When we reached out to them for a promotional copy, their public relations team informed us that they were not distributing promotional copies to any media outlets for review. It appeared to be an unusual decision on their part, but that was the response we received.
-
And Bryan Beller said it won't be available for streaming until two-three months from the release date.
-
So, they don't actually want anyone to listen to it?
-
The album is selling on iTunes for a better price than Bandcamp.
-
So, they don't actually want anyone to listen to it?
You can buy it on the digital stores like Bandcamp and iTunes/Amazon but you can't stream it like with Apple Music or Spotify, Etc.
You can listen to it on Bandcamp up to 3 times while the rest of the stores only have 30 secs previews. I'll be using Bandcamp to listen to the album and see if I'll buy the album (which I think I will, I have all the CDs).
-
I don't know why, but this time they made avaible for free listen on Bandcamp only the first (excellent) 3 songs from the album.
https://the-aristocrats-band.bandcamp.com/album/duck?search_item_id=4227583864&search_item_type=a&search_match_part=%3F&search_page_id=3205328372&search_page_no=0&search_rank=2&logged_out_mobile_menubar=true
Anyway, I have all their CDs, I'm sure this one will be worth it.
-
I jumped the gun an bought it blindly. Not disappointed. A lot easier to get into than "You know what".
