Whose all going?!
I'll be going with a friend of mine and we'll be traveling from Columbus, OH for the show.
-
I will definately be there. I live in Pittsburgh. Really good venue right in downtown Pittsburgh. They have played there maybe 2 other times. Cant freakin wait!

as far as outdoor venues are concerned, I would say better than most, The awning overhead keeps the sound from traveling and maintains decent acoustics. I saw LIVE, Foo, Gigantour and DT/QR here. Just bring your earplugs. I felt it was loud.
-
My wife and I are driving up from Morgantown WV. My 11 year old wants to come as well. It will be his first real concert.
This will be my second time seeing DT. I saw them last year, opening for Iron Maiden. This time they are headlining, so I am pretty pumped :metal
-
Just saw that this show is timed perfectly with my R&R back from lovely Kabul. I'll be making the trip up from Bridgeport, WV. Last time I was at this venue was the DT/QR tour. Can't wait!

I'm having one heck of a time trying to find a presale code for this show. UGH!
-
I'm going to be at this show with two of my friends! Woo, first DT (headlining) show! :metal
-

Yea me too. Just gonna wait till Saturday I guess.
-
The code is part of the venue name! Caps!
-
Thanks again mikedt! I just got three tickets! WOO I'M SO PUMPED!
I hope DT play at least 2 and a half hours. Could be possible, depending on how long Trivium play.
-

Hey man, how close is Deluca's from the venue? I really wanna eat there. I know its in the strip district but I dont know much about Pittsburgh.
-
Delucas is only about a 5 to 10 minute drive. I have lived in Pittsburgh all my live and unfortunately have yet to try the place out. We frequent this area on th eweekends, but it seems every time we are there there is a line out the door. Maybe during the week you will have better luck.
-
Cool man!!! It would be nice if we get 2 1/2 hours.
Where are your seats? I got 2nd row Section 101. I am hoping we will be within the stage area after looking at the seating chart. I can't remember the seating, since the last time I was there was for Gigantour when DT played with Megadeath.

Thanks man. I saw the place on Man vs Food and have been dying to go there. I remember something on the show about a constant line out the door lol.

Section 101 3rd Row seats 8-10. I'll have to say hi!
EDIT: I'm hoping it will be good seating position as well. Section 100 and 104 look like they would be terrible!
-
Just completed my ticket order Sec 103 row B seats 6-8 :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal
-
I will going to the Chicago show on October 2nd instead of this one.

Thanks! :tup
The decision was based on the Chicago show being Sunday and I'm a student at Ohio State. A Tuesday show in the middle of the week would have been a major pain. haha.
-
Hmm. Just a general question, as I impulse-bought the 3rd row tickets.
Will the sound be terrible (even with earplugs) since I am so close and slightly off center?

I hope not. I am in the 2nd row myself, off to the left (JMX side :metal) Most outdoor shows have good sound, but I have never been that close before.
-
I am 2nd row Petrucci side. I am more concerned with location. It is hard to tell if our seats will be beyond the actual stage area and be right in front of the speakers. That is one thing I wish ticketmasteer allowed you to do is actually pick the best available seats in the section you preferm not just a price range. Everytime I checked for seats it never selected seats in the section in front of the stage. You should be able to select the section you want and then best avalable in that section.
-
Driving up from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. This will be my first DT show. Can't wait.
-
Ticketmaster put 3 bucks BACK into my account. I hope that isnt a sign tickets arent selling well.
-
39 days and counting!
-
I'm so pumped :metal
@Jinova, I'm gonna check and see if Ticketmaster has put any back into mine
-
i'll be there with my 2 friends.i saw them for the first time last year at first niagra pavillion which was the greatest day of my life and they were just the opening act!..so i am so excited to see them headline. :metal...section 106 row F seat 7
-
Cool weddingnails! I am so pumped about the show. I'm excited for the album, but I cannot wait for the concert!
-
i will be traveling from akron to see it.
Hey, me too!
-
My buddy and I both went to UPITT, but I moved to the Baltimore/DC area. I'll be driving up for the show, 3rd row Section 102!! I'm looking forward to seeing them in a different venue.
-
i will be traveling from akron to see it.
Hey, me too!
Gonna be there from Warren, Ohio.
-
Three metal, rockin' folks comin' from Caldwell, OH for this show. It will be our 4th DT show! Excited!
-
Mangini said oh his FB that while he is in pittsburgh he will be enjoying football and eating wings.guess he is a steelers fan..-i sent him a messege telling him to go eat at Primanti Brothers....man i am so anxious..the excitement is growing
-
I love the food at Primanti Bros! One thing about Pittsburgh, so many great places to eat.
Im getting pretty pumped for the show myself :metal
-
My Brother nd I will be rocking it out with our ......... you know. Anyway, I love this venue for metal shows. beutiful city views right by the river. should be an amazing evening!
-
My sister & I will be there. :)
-
DT on the 4th and Primus on the 7th..it will be an awesome overload that week for me :metal
-
Got Section 106, row J. Had a group, but they had a change of plans. Gotta sit by myself, but I don't expect that to make things any less fun.
Never been there before, anyone guess as to whether most people will stand the whole time? The pictures on the website aren't very good at showing the layout of the place / how far seats are from the stage.

i'll be in section 106 as well, row F though....and i am pretty sure everyone will be standing.
-
I'll be heading up with 3 of my buddies from Morgantown, WV. I can't freakin' wait. Last time I saw DT was back in '04 so I'm long overdue for this!
-
I'm getting pumped for the show! I'd suggest a meet up, but I'm gonna have some people with me that probably wouldn't go for that :(
-

i have the same problem, might eat at the Hard Rock close by.
-
Hmm... I forgot about that Hard Rock literally a stones throw away. Maybe a possible meet up after all? I'll check with the people I'm going with.
-
Driving from Indianapolis IN to see this show with two of my friends who have never seen them!
-
My brother and i were thinking of eating at the Hard Rock. Maybe we can meet up with some of you guys. Let me know. cya at the show
-
Bring a coat. Down to 40 degrees tomorrow night, hopefully a rain free evening though. *knocks on wood*
-
I'll see if I can coax my friends into eating at the Hard Rock too... Definitely bringing a jacket though. I can't wait though.
Out of the three of us going, two of us saw DT back in '04 so and my other friend is seeing them for his first time. We're all fanboying hard right now. :lol
-
Does anyone know what the camera policy is for this venue? I have an Olympus Pen E-PL2 I was planning on bringing as well as a Zoom digital recorder.
-
I believe the website suggests to bring a disposable camera :lol because they do not allow any kind of recording equipment.
Can't wait for this show!!!!!
-
A buddy of mine and his wife were there for another show and he said that point and shoot digitals seemed ok. He saw alot of them being used. Just click and put it down was his advice, dont record though. I dunno how reliable that is though lol
Im gonna have a small point and shoot, just to get a few shots.
TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal
-
What about Cell Phones? Just like most phones now days, my iphone takes pics and movies. Does this mean that everyone that has a cell phone that can record video has to leave it in their car?
-

I think it has to do with having the device up for long periods of time. If they notice that then they might say something. Thats the way it was explained to me. Im taking my cell and my point and shoot.

It's going to be in the mid-50's tonight. I don't believe that there's heating inside of Trib is there?
-
No, there is no 'inside.'
So, what do you wear to see god live in concert?
-
No, there is no 'inside.'
So, what do you wear to see god live in concert?
dream theater clothes of course.
-
It was so great to be back in Detroit last night. Thanks for an awesome Show! Let's keep our fingers crossed for the weather tonight Pittsburg!
I guess even though we're the one Burgh with and H, if that's how JP spells it we have to change it.
Also: THREE HOURS.
-
Trivium nearly finished. Super excited for Dream Theater!
-
Trivium was great. DT was great.
If the Trivium singer wasn't making up the part about us being the crowd most into it so far then that's awesome.
My first DT concert and my biggest surprise was that I enjoyed the old songs more than the new ones.
I got chills when JLB pointed to the bridge during Bridges in the Sky.
Loved JR's tilted stand and the keytar (wish he would use it more). A few mic problems. JP seemed to start the intro of Breaking All Illusions really quickly.
After they finished the peaceful piano and vocal duet that was 'Wait for Sleep' the guy beside me yelled, 'Oh fuck yeah!' which was the first time I've heard that reaction to that song. :lol
Got video of the instrumental section of Endless Sacrifice and the drum solo. No clue what the sound quality will be like. Didn't want to waste too much time messing with the camera.
-
No, there is no 'inside.'
So, what do you wear to see god live in concert?
I'm a fan of dressing very unorthodoxly. I try to dress as un-metal as possible and try acting as metal as can be. :lol
Setlist B I assume?
-
Bridges in the Sky
These Walls
Build Me Up, Break Me Down
Endless Sacrifice
Drum Solo
The Ytse Jam
Wait for Sleep
Far From Heaven
The Great Debate
On the Backs of Angels
Caught In A Web
Through My Words
Fatal Tragedy
Breaking All Illusions
Encore:
Pull Me Under
-
It was a great show. Loved James's pirate coat.
-
just got home,it was honestly the greatest night of my life. :metal.....james said he didnt mind the cold weather because he is canadian,he said he wouldnt care if there was snow,he would ski on stage. :lol....trivium was actually pretty good, didn't think i would enjoy them...and mike mangini is without a doubt the right choice, his solo was insane!!..cant wait to see them again....loved the view of the city btw.
-
WOW We had such a great time yesterday!
First off, Trivium won me over, they really rocked. They worked the crowd and played their asses off!. I could do without the growling vocals, but they played tight and I totally enjoyed the music. KUDOS to them!
DT, what can be said? The greatest band in the world. Everything was perfect. My wife and son loved it and that makes my day. My son talked about it all the way home.
The band looked so happy and seemed to be really enjoying what they were doing. They sounded fantastic! James sounded great! Mangini is a beast, he looked confident and seemed to be totally enjoying himself. From the band member's reactions, they really seem to understand how much their fans love them.
DT ROCKS :metal :metal :metal
-
It was quite the show. My only sadness is that it is over now :'(
-
Yep It was a blast. Good Crowd! JLB was spectacular. The reception to MM was really amazing. People were chanting his name at the end of show during the bow. Great venue.! I thought the sound was perfect and crisp. One of the best DT shows I have seen in a while, production wise. Trivium...meh. I did like some of the chorus' and some guitar parts, but it got old. Just not my cup of tea.
All in all, Dt still impresses and I was also sad it was over.
-
Awesome show! Probably the best DT concert I've been to (it was my third). :)

Great, great show. The band sounded amazing.
To me, it didn't look like there was enough people there. Maybe a 1000? A little more?
-
Yeah it wasn't particularly packed.
-
I was in the last row of the front section, I couldn't really tell how many people were behind me. Seemed to me like every seat in the front sections were full.
Tough to tell how loud people were too, but maybe that's because it was so loud that I couldn't really hear anything. Still have a headache... probably the only good headache I've had, ha.
-
A friend of mine shot the intro tape and a few seconds of Bridges in the Sky and I uploaded it to youtube. I hope more of the show was recorded by someone else.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp49pUIIfPA
-
I got a couple video clips but then an usher came by to warn me not to record any video. I did grab my point & shoot and recorded Pull Me Under, though. I also got an audio recording of the show but I haven't got around to editing it yet.
-
I was hoping someone would record it. :lol
One of the other guys I was with got all of the Intro/Bridges... I just have to get the file off of him.
-
Endless Sacrifice instrumental section: https://youtu.be/FG-jno5co04
End of Endless Sacrifice and Drum Solo: https://youtu.be/Dg61YbbJ_eo
Turned out better than I thought, wish I would've gotten more.
-
i actually was able to get alot of video(not so great quality though)..the ushers never said anything to me...anyone else notice the train going past during Wait for sleep..lol..great song to have a fucking train go by...still can't get over how amazing the show was.
-
I was pretty close to the aisle so it was easy for the usher to see me. He also warned off a bunch of other people in front of me...Not like that stopped them from recording. lol
-
Yeah the train was pretty random. Fantastic pictures btw egxf!
Been listening to some Trivium, but it's kind of disappointing because it sounded better live.
-

Great photos! And welcome! I was sitting like 4 rows behind you, lol.
-
Great shots! I was in the same row, one seat off the aisle on JP's side.
-
Great shots!
Is that a mic stand in front of JM or do my eyes deceive me?
-
Great photos, man, thanks for sharing them. :tup
That thing in front of JM looks like a microphone stand, but it can't be. ;D
-
Thanks everyone! I wondered about that device too. It was there the whole time. It is not a microphone. I really have no idea what it is. My guess it that it is a lamp so he can see his pedals in the dark?
-
It's a camera on the stand. There is also one in front of JP.These are the ones that show them on the screens behind them.I also remember seeing them rotate so they catch the action when the members aren't directly in front of them.
-
thanks for sharing....
I'm already too much in love with LaBrie.... and it will kill me

I see what you mean. I agree!
