For indoor venues actually is quite easy: starting from the capacity and watching how much of the venue is full, or ampty, you can have an idea (ex. Kiev Palace Sport capacity 10k, watching a video from YT, and reading comments from people who were there, for DT i guess there were 2k) For outdoor, as i said, we can't have the exactly amount, but to have an idea it's not that hard (for Villafranca, it was an outdoor venue: Rammstein sold out it last year with 15k. For DT it was more than half full so i guess, and then i read it in the press, the attendence was something aroud 7/8k)
-
There were about 40.000 people in Sonisphere in Madrid, but Iron Maiden, Mastodon, Twisted Sister... were playing there too, so...
-
I was just wondering, the size of the venue seems to vary a lot.

2011-09-27 - Moore Theatre - Seattle, WA
According their website, the Moore holds 1419 people. I'd say from the looks of it last night, it was full.
-
The Warfield in San Francisco is 2,250. It was NOT full, the corners of the balcony were empty. I'm guessing DT had about 1,900 at the show.
-
If memory serves correctly, Nextstage (which they're now calling Verizon somethingoranother) holds 6k+, but they sell it as a half venue. DT usually sell's about a third of it. For these shows they don't sell the balcony or the sections furthest to the side.

Not real sure why they do that here. HOB is the perfect size for them (and has phenomenal sound), but it's SRO only, so I guess they prefer Nextstage. Still, there are other options, so they seem to have an affinity for it.
The Austin show is at a college auditorium, that seats 2900.
Houston's Verizon looks to hold 2400.

I've updated the list in the OP with findings from a quick bit of research. Pretty big difference between the US and Europe.
-
How did you arrive at 2.5k for Verizon Dallas?
-
How did the KB Hallen burn down in Copenhagen and has there been any news on the switch?

El Barto, I must have misunderstood your post. What is the capacity in Dallas?
-
Palasport - Pordenone, ITA 4500
Palaevangelisti - Perugia, ITA 5500

Difficult to say. Official capacity is 6,350. The balcony isn't available for this show, but they don't offer production specs on their website so I have no idea what the floor capacity is. Also, there won't be anybody sitting in the side sections, but I don't know if they're officially available or not. Your 2500 is probably close, but there's really no way to tell without seeing the specs. I was just wondering if you had something more concrete.
-
No, just a guesstimate really. I'll stick with c. 3,000 for now.

Thanks!
I'm suprised that one of the biggest venues they're playing is in norway. Considering the population is almost the same as just in LA.
-
One of the possible functions is the limit of outdoor venues. For the past few tours, they've hit the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, which is 7000 seated, and another 7000-8000 open field seating. They usually fill the seated tickets.
Given it's October, kinda cool (temperature) to do an outdoor evening concert. There aren't too many indoor venues with the appropriate logistics and accoustics other than 3000 seaters, and then the Air Canada Centre at 16,000+.
-
The Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee where they usually play can hold 2,460 people and usually the upper part of the balcony is empty so i would say they average 2000 fans there.
-
In USA cities, they play 2k-3k shows mostly.
When they go to other countries, like Mexico, they play bigger venues because they just play one or two cities per country instead of 20 in the USA. For example, everytime they come down to Mexico they play the National Auditorium, which holds 10,000 people.
-
Nokia Theatre in LA holds 7100. Really cool venue.

-
That's probably one of the biggest venues they'll play in the US.
-
Wow, how full was Nokia?

Hello,
Pavillon de la jeunesse, Quebec City: up to 6 000 (reference: https://www.expocite.com/www/pavillon-jeunesse.php)

Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. is 1800 seats.

2011-09-27 - Moore Theatre - Seattle, WA
According their website, the Moore holds 1419 people. I'd say from the looks of it last night, it was full.
The second balcony was only 1/3rd full. I'd say there were about 1100 people there last night or so.
-
Damn that sucks for the January 27 date in Copenhagen. For Danish DT fans' sake and for DT themselves, I hope they find a replacement venue
-
Columbiahalle Berlin is 3.5k.
-
Wow I wasn't aware that DT plays so small venues in the US.

Honestly, I consider it to be a treat. Small venues are so personal. :)

According to the PDF linked from Kingsbury Hall's website, seating capacity is 1900 or 1992 depending on if they include the orchestra pit.

Not even that :P We are around 5 million people.
However, DT usually play at a somewhat smaller (9,000) venue here, but I believe that was already booked for the date DT wanted it this time. I've been to their last four shows in Norway and usually they draw around 5,000, so they are not going to sell out the 13k arena :sadpanda:

They did.. but it's not as nice as the one that burnt down :(
I was at a concert there six months ago and it was a really nice concert hall, so it kinda sucks they don't get to play there :sadpanda:
-
It's Valby Hallen and I read that it can hold 5000 (on a concert hall Wiki) in case the OP wants to update the list :).
Unfortunately I also read that the sound isn't as good as at KB Hallen so I guess I'll be hanging out around the sound board that night ;).
-
The Palace Theater in albany holds 2,844
The Mayo Performing Arts Center in NJ seats 1,302

According to Wiki there's about 4million people in LA. Anyways, Oslo Spektrum takes around 8000 people, and they usually end up between 5,500 and 7,000 people. I don't see how they would be anywhere near selling out Valhall, they also increased the ticketprice with 150 kroner(30$). I hope they will set up lots of beer and merchandise stands to fill the empty space, so it doesn't look so empty at the concert.
-
According to Wiki there's about 4million people in LA.
You're looking at LA city limits only which is a very small part of the Metropolitan area, which in 2009 had a population of 17.6 million, which makes it the second largest city in the U.S. Take a look at an LA map. They don't call it the endless suburb for nothing. ;)
-
The Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver has a maximum capacity of 2,929. The show was not sold out, but at a guess I'd say it was at around 80% of it's capacity for the DT show.

Yeah, American geography is not my thing. Was just thinking of comparing LA's population to Norway's, and that's what wiki said. My bad!

Kingsbury Hall in SLC should be corrected to 1992
