Has anyone ever listened to the soundtrack? I might sound like a total FF fanboy right now, but to be honest, I'm not a huge FF fan. I've only ever played this game, and the music is some of my favourite. it's obviously mostly classical music, but there's some rock/prog/other influences thrown in there. It even feels like a concept album throughout some parts as it has various recurring motifs.
My favourite song is probably Dancing Mad, the final battle theme(s). It is basically a giant classical/prog epic, containing 4 parts. Words cannot express how awesome it is. You have to hear it for yourself.

VII's soundtrack has more memorable pieces, but the good tracks in VI are REALLY good.

One of the best game soundtracks ever...possibly the best. FFVII may or may not be better. FFIX is pretty underrated.
Some of the best FFVI tracks: Terra, Wild West, Devil's Lab, Shadow, Kids Run Through the City Corner, Celes, and Battle Theme.
Nobuo Uematsu is one of my musical heroes.

AMAZING
Seriously, one of the best soundtracks ever. Have you heard the piano version?
-
Have any of you seen Distant Worlds? It's well worth the price, especially since I went to a show Uematsu attended.

Dancing Mad is one of the best video game tracks ever.

I remember I borrowed the soundtrack of FFVI from a guy I knew in High School back when I was BIG into FF. I had my mom copy it onto cassette for me. :lol
That was probably one of the first 'complete' albums that I ever acquired. Amazing music to an amazing game.

Indeed.

Badass soundtrack to a badass game.It really is amazing what Uematsu was able to pull out of the SNES (granted the SNES did have a sweet sound chip). Not quite my favorite FF soundtrack though, VIII tops it imo.
