And I don't want any of the 'To edit pictures duuuuur' kind of response. What kind of pictures, why do you edit them, what are they going to be used for etcetera. I figure that a lot of responses are going to involve PSing Dream Theater in some way :')
I used to use Photoshop for my Graphics Coursework, where we had to make a board game (I chose Disney Princess :( ), but for the past year I've been using it instead of Paintshop Pro and things for my drawings, and because I'm kind of sad, I also use it to edit pictures for some of my Roleplaying Characters. Please don't shoot me!
Then there's the Photoshopping DT related stuff, such as my crappy album cover :')
-
I chose many of the options, because I use it for work sometimes and for doing artwork (both for personal use, for DTF, for my band) and other DT related stuff.

I can't afford Photoshop. I use GIMP which is a free open source graphics program that can do many of the same things that Photoshop can do. I used Photoshop briefly at one of my jobs about 12 years ago and it was just to build graphics for Web pages. But that's sort of like buying a Lamborghini to drive the grocery store once a week.

I use it for altering my bands gig posters which Alice makes and DT stuff sometimes. :)

Bits and bobs, essentially.
I've done posters for my uni course (and expect to be using it a lot more if I get this job I'm angling for - more on that if I even get an interview), for events within the students' union, and I was asked to do campaign posters at the SU elections, so there's an element of that.
I also use it as my standard editing software, and will typically use it to rustle up an avatar, or just crop a picture for my desktop, etc. Used it to create my twitter background, and to do artwork for bits of music I rustle up on bandcamp. Back when I had a blog, I used it to make a logo for that, and still use that logo for my music.
Oh, and I occasionally use it to make people on the internet laugh - whether that's people I actually know, or people on here.
FAO anyone who can't afford photoshop... there's a pretty decent clone on the internet, free access. www.pixlr.com - almost identical. A little more primitive, but so much more powerful than MS Paint. Use it when I'm in a hurry. Cropping or fiddling with colours or what have you.

Nothing. That is a very expensive program.
Also, I am not an artist.
