It is fairly cool though.
Thing is, the internet does offer all voices equal volume. Only thing is, with so many voices shouting in unison, only the user can decide which ones they want to listen to. And kudos don't sort of spring out of nowhere - there's not this magical fountain of respect, it's built over time. And, eventually, people will gravitate more to the people with proven track records for being interesting, or thought-provoking, or funny, than those without.
