As we can see now, Janet is currently doing all that she can to insure her ban at DTF is permanent and noticed by everyone.
Which spurs the discussion: in your history of posting and forums, what have been some of the best AND worst "blazes of glory" you've seen people go out in? What ways, in other words, have you seen people use ban themselves?
At this one forum I modded for a brief time, there was literally like a mutiny of sorts. Half of the mod staff and a bunch of members all sort of "united," posting these long, epic manifestos about everything that was wrong with the community and especially the admin and then all migrated to a new forum. There were screencaps of stuff that some mods and admins were posting about the membership in the special, hidden staff-only forum.
The admin had everything taken down and everyone banned pretty quickly, but it was still epic to watch going down in real-time. I was friends with people on both sides, but ultimately wound up staying with the original forum.
I'm interested to hear what everyone else has got.

My boss toldd me about one on the VH forum where a guy posted naked pictures of himself and links to bestiality sites, thought that was pretty funny.

I'm not sure if this counts, but on my other forum, our admin went crazy and started banning random members for no particular reason. Then one member got into contact with the original admin who designed the site (and does a lot of stuff for Division 13), and he immediately banned the old admin and cleaned up the forum, since it needed a lot of upgrading. I was made moderator a few months later.

You think he would be, but he was actually some unemployed 40-something :lol Well, it was during the year that he got laid off, so it's almost like he took all his frustration out on the forum :P
Most of our mods are teens (I'm 18, almost 19), and they do a pretty good job. Our admin is the creative director (I don't know if he's THE creator director, but certainly one of them) of Division 13, so that's pretty cool. It's a funny situation of retaliation. I always thought the old admin was an odd choice, since he was usually very bitter and unpleasant to be around, and very resistant to any forum suggestions.

At this old forum I went to, every time someone wanted to ban themselves, there was only one way to go: The porn post. They'd max out the length of a post with links to porn sites, images, videos, whatever. They'd also include forum memes that had gotten annoying to the point of an insta-ban (ASCII of Mario riding Yoshi, long story), and they'd get around the language filter (FLICK in the thread title and the like). They were legendary, if a little stupid. But, hey, porn, that's always nice.

Really the only one I've seen was on another forum; it was one you weren't even allowed to swear on and this kid goes right to crazy porn. He didn't just link it, with high quality pics of "multiple animal species involved" in your face.
The mods must've been sleeping because he got like eight threads going before he stopped.

I remember back on another GameFAQs board, someone tried to account suicide. Posted a single link to a picture containing nudity. Not even exactly porn. The topic reached the post limit of 500. Someone else in the topic was banned for one of their posts in the thread. But the OP got maybe a suspension at most.

I could never figure that guy out. Spammed the place with his bad photography and ugly models. Got banned. Came back with a different account and spammed the place with his bad photography and ugly models. Rinse and repeat. IIRC, every time he did it, people had no problem telling him how ugly the models were, because they so bad, but he defended his work relentlessly and insisted that they were great because they were professional models.
Everyone has different taste, and none of that would have been so bad if he hadn't also gotten seriously offended and defensive every time. Started talking shit, calling people out, and damn, anyone with half a brain would've just stopped doing it. But he kept doing it. I guess somewhere in there we were also supposed to be impressed by his photography, which was mediocre at best, and seemed to specialize in ugly models.

Part of it depends on the presentation, too. If 211269 had showed us his photos with the models and just said something like "Hey, guys, I'm a photographer just starting out. What do you think of this? Feedback is welcome." He would have gotten a lot more comments like, "Not bad, keep at it! The girls aren't bad looking either!"
Instead, he put up the pictures like "Look at the fucking awesome photograph with the hottest chick in the world on it!" People are a lot more harsh and less receptive to you when you have that attitude.

Nope, House of Jigsaw. It's the largest Saw forum on the web. Or it was. The forum's dying out now that the series is over, but we all pretty much expected that.

I was friends with one of the mods (won't say who) so I had him advise me when there were none online. I started posting all the celebrity nudes I could find, then upgraded to stuff like midget porn, tentacle porn (an actual photo of a girl and an octopus...) and a French girl inserting a banana into her... yeah. Among other things. Since there were no mods, the thread was open for probably a few hours.
To be honest, I've changed a lot since then, so I kind of facepalm when I think about the immaturity of it all. But oh well, at least it provided good memories.

They "should" implement the one post per 30 seconds rule. I've seen it on other forums before and even if it doesn't do much, it helps at least a bit.

PotD one took like, a few hours at least. Which made it more spectacular, really. It was up for awhile and the mods didn't do shit to the attempted account suicide post and instead took out other posters. Such a glorious failure.

On another forum for a christian band there was one guy who provided lulz periodically and became one of the main people who answered for the athiests in the political/religious board. Some stuff happend and the mods gave him some slack about some of the stuff he did for lulz. He ended up getting mad and made a thread and put porn in it and changed his sig to a gif of a dog getting beaten with a shovel. It was similar to what happend at PC's forum where the forum was divided and half left to join his new forum and the other half decided to stick around. But ever since that there's been very little action going on there because it was a relatively small forum before everyone left.

Yep, that was him. We figured it was almost certainly him by the posting style, photographic style, and taste in ugly models. I know I keep saying that, and it's mean to the girls, but seriously, everyone thought it and many said it.

I have gotten a permaban and a one week ban. The first time (the permaban), my buddy got on my computer at school. Knowing how much I love these boards, he got on and started saying all kinds of this about the band and the boards. He never used a message board before, and wasn't even aware there were mods. The second time is a little less believable, but it's true. The same guy that got me banned last time, made an account of his own. His username was Beeno or Beano, I don't remember. Anyway, he created this over a year ago and never posted on it I guess. He waited patiently for months, waiting for me to forget to log off his computer. He then decided to post from both accounts, in the same thread. I got a one week for duplicate accounts.

The thread is probably out there somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it. The gist was DMOS created another thread about I think it was some girl or something, who knows, and was treating this place like LiveJournal. Nearly everyone was getting fed up and told him they didn't really care and he snapped back pretty viciously. I don't even really remember what I said but I'm fairly sure I was just speaking in line with the crowd and he went off on this beautifully profanity laden outburst directly at me for I'm guessing some hidden personal grudge. I'm pretty sure the words "fucking opinionated asshole" came into play once or twice. It was quite hilarious actually.

Ha ha, I do remember that one now. I read the whole damned thing and I guess expected some kind of payoff, but instead it was just a blog. So I figured what the fuck, might as well push for some pictures, since he mentioned a chick. I know I should feel kinda bad because it probably helped him feel like people didn't give a shit about his little story, and maybe why he snapped. But somehow I don't.

Actually, people should post summaries anyway, as not everyone knows all the details or was around at the time, and it's always good for a laugh.
The thread is probably out there somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it. The gist was DMOS created another thread about I think it was some girl or something, who knows, and was treating this place like LiveJournal. Nearly everyone was getting fed up and told him they didn't really care and he snapped back pretty viciously.
