just anything you find signifigant like getting a good grade on a test or getting a promotion.
For me it would be being asked to be cantidate for the national honor society
-
My band just got the OK to play our first "gig". We're getting paid in pitchers of beer.
-
I just dug up "Amazon Trail 3" and made it to Vilcabamba in less than 3 hours.
-
I have yet to accomplish anything noteworthy in my life. I'm always too stressed out and scatterbrained to get anything done that I can be proud of.
-
Amazon Trail? Oh the nostalgia! :lolpalm:
I earned my Certificate for the Music course I did. Starting the next one in a few days.
Last night, I made music to tape.
-
I was a good friend to someone today.
I made a B on a test that I barely studied for.
I bought a new iPod and am quite satisfied with the purchase.
-

You've made many great comics. People here really like them, that seems like a significant accomplishment to me.

well that can be a sign that you will accomplish something in the future if your stressed out right now.

just finished building and preliminary testing a machine that will revolutionize implant testing.

Seriously. You've found something you're good at and something you clearly enjoy (otherwise, would you really continue making them?). Whether or not it becomes your career isn't the point. You've accomplished a hell of a lot more than I have, Chris, simply because you've found a calling. I have yet to do that and I envy you for it.

Don't listen to them Chris. Give up on your dreams, you are set to never do anything for the rest of your life.

I wrote an APUSH essay in one night (that's all the time we had) and did an eight-page APUSH outline in one night, but actually put a lot of effort into both as opposed to rushing through them and skipping parts of the outline. I'm trying a lot harder for the third quarter 'cause I wanna bring my GPA up to a 90.0 from an 89.09.

Yeah. What I actually meant by that was "go fuck yourself man I hate you". I just try to be civil in how I present my viewpoints.
-
Hmm, have to think. Can't really call my big trip an "achievement", right? Hmm, maybe that I pulled through with telling my boss. I'll take that.
rumborak
-
Hmmmm.
I entered a composing contest in 2010, and it ended up winning state and regional. (for my age group) I did not win national, but it was pretty cool, and I got 500$ for it.

A great weight has been lifted from me, Mike.

Realizing that I've been putting 10's instead of 11's for the past month on all my assignments.
-

It was amazing.

Now that I don't have to worry about you having standards and actually achieving what you are capable of, do you want to chill on Saturday? I'll bring doritos and playstation.
-
I downloaded an app on my phone that shows sex offenders in the area. After fifteen minutes of clicking around my neighborhood, I realized that I'd seen these people before and thought "Gotta be on a registry somewhere," and thus confirmed that though I lack a gaydar, I make up for it in a pedodar.

Dude, you don't smoke weed.
You.... become... the weed.

And on that note, me and Carl Sagan are going to bed.

Though not really an accomplishment, I got laid off from my job today which is sweet because I'll get unemployment benefits for awhile and free money kicks ass. And with the money I saved while working I'm going to do some traveling and visit some out of state friends which I haven't been able to do in years because I couldn't get enough time off of work. :tup
-
At the comunity gardens where Ive been volunteering, I mapped out one future nature trail, and partialy cleared the trail I marked out.
I got some school kids to help me plant some plants sunday. some bellpepper plants , jalapeno plants, serrano plants, tomato plants, some onions, and some coriander/cilantro plants.
we also got some families to plant a bunch of seeds in raised beds.
I hope they survive this freeze thats hitting deep south Texas.
my freinds and I covered the plants the other night, with some tarps, and made a framework of sugarcane, to hold the tarps off the plants.
other than that Ive done zip, zilch, nada, nothin'.
-
Ive done more homework in the first two weeks of this semester than the entire last semester.
-
I had my last cigarette on November 4th. Granted I'd only been smoking for 2-3 years, but still. Felt no ill effects from stopping, no withdrawals, nothing. Every once in a while, when we're doing a lot of drinking, I feel the urge to smoke, only out of the smoke/drink connection habit, but I always resist and am certain I will continue to be able to resist.
-
I finished my taxes last night.
And I made a baby a few months ago. That was pretty sweet. :)
-
I did pretty well on my Fluid Mechanics progress test, which made me happy because it's 2nd year fluids and I haven't taken the 1st year course.
-
I worked my ass off to scrape together a B in chem.
So far, I haven't got anything besides A's on my AP History tests/overall grades; I just really, really want to show my parents that I can handle an AP course.
(Sorry if this is too "graphic" or something:) I haven't cut myself in quite a few months and have fought off the urge every time.
I've been having a sea of happy days with a few craptastic days recently instead of the other way around.
And the most important:
I DEFEATED QUEEN GOHMA in the Legend of Zelda and the Ocarina of Time (which I haven't played in YEARS)!!!!!!! :metal :metal :metal
-
Good improvement TDOL. :tup
-
Thank you my good sir.
-
I became a dad three months ago. Compared to that, and my wife giving birth and becoming a mom, there isn't much else I can do in my life that even comes close.
-
I got a raise and some praise from my boss, who is normally a cheap ass.
My band also did a gig at a festival where you vote for your favorite band and we managed to come out on the very top, gaining a lot of fans that still follows us. :tup
-
I woke up at 7am and hit the gym..., doesn't sound like much, but being up before noon is an accomplishment... and then work out? omg i feel like a million bucks
-
Id like to accomplish healing my broker wrist.. :tdwn
-
I fixed a problem that I had in a Sharepoint Workflow and don't get an error anymore.
Still the workflow is not doing what it is supposed to but....
-
Nothing.
-
Here's another. I've been waking up at quarter past 7 every weekday. My body now is trained to wake up on its own on most days. Getting more time to work on stuff and get anything you want done, what more could I want? Waking up late = a bummer for me.
-

I fixed it again!!!! Technically I deleted and redid everything but... :metal

Me too! That accomplishment's been alluding me for a good 12 weeks now :-\
-
I platinumed Sly Cooper and Sly 2.
...There's really not much going on in my life right now...
-
I crystallized one isomer from a mixture of four isomers.
-
I just ate a bunch of candies!
:'(
-
I just ate a bunch of candies!
:'(
That sounds yummy, what kind were they?
-
We got a favorable response from the FDA on something where I was one of the lead authors/strategizers...and will make a difference of about $300m/yr for this drug.
-
:hat?
-
I gave a talk at a workshop at the Royal Astronomical Society, which I thought was a pretty big deal as I am trying to scare myself into being a better public speaker!
-
Public speaking gets easier as you realise that you don't have to have the smooth delivery of an actor to be effective. Unless you are truely afraid of social situations, its fairly easy to overcome.
-
Recently I've been able to really shave away some losing trades that I've foolishly been making, doesn't sound like much but it's saving me a decent amount of $$$ every week.
-
This past Friday I took a state test to become a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant), and I just found out I passed! So I'm getting out of retail to wipe ass! YAY!
-
I finished making The Isle of Snow, so that's pretty cool. I feel accomplished about that.
-
Just bowled a 290 last night, with the last 11 strikes in a row. I get a trophy (which apparently I can donate to the Bowling Hall of Fame - I declined).
And yes, I threw a strike in the first frame of my next game, giving me 12 in a row total, which would have been a perfect game if it was all in one game.
-
I enjoyed and learned a lot from my class which took place in a classroom. A lot of my course takes place in the auditorium.
-
So my site just doubled its previous record in visits, to a pretty awesome number. That doesn't necessarily mean I have new readers because of it, but the more exposure the better.
Also, I just watched a teaser trailer from the student production team that is using a script I wrote for their final film for their majors. It's pretty awesome that I wrote something good enough for people to stake something so big on.
-
:tup
Just found out one of the law schools I applied to is offering me a scholarship worth over half of the tuition costs.
-
That's awesome Joe!
-
I don't know what timeframe would be considered recent, but mid 2010 I quit a job where I was very unhappy and unsatisfied and had wanted to leave for a while. I began a new job in November that I like very much, and finally moved out of my parent's house. My next step is to get a graduate degree, most likely in material science.
-
I'm finally developing the growling technique on the sax. What took me so long?
-
I've gotten into all of the school's I've applied to so far, with decent scholarships to the expensive ones.
I actually started practicing guitar again.
-
Asking a girl to be my valentine, and getting a yes (tomorrow will rock, just gotta be confident and real, yo).
-
^But I thought you have to be a "lover" for that occasion. Unless you've known her for a while now.

Nothing

What? You can have a valentine for whatever reason.
I asked her, she said yes. But we have dated once before, and there seems to be resurgence there. Something is clicking unlike before.

So far (three weeks into the quarter) I have 100 in my AP United States History class un-curved (so 108 with it) and an 82 in AP Physics (88 with the curve), which is a big accomplishment for me. Now I just need to maintain these grades for two months...

That's the most difficult part of the year. Especially if you have friends that are seniors...

Well I'm quitting mary jane for a month and a half and also I just got my own room again so I'm confident that I can maintain good grades. I'd love to keep my perfect grade in APUSH but that's not all too realistic. It's 1:04 AM and I have an in-class essay on imperialism tomorrow and I don't know what to write at all.
-
I just got my own room again
HALO?!?!?!?!?
-
I just got my own room again
HALO?!?!?!?!?
Actually;
yes.
-
I'm holding you to that. Tomorrow night.
-
I just need to pick my warthog up from the shop. It should be ready in time.
-
:lol :lol Alright then. It's too bad Alex can't play with us... his Halo disc broke the other day.

:xbones

Not sure if I have it yet, but there's a gallery called Studio Within that is interested in displaying my art. First one in Chicago that has said yes to anything I've tried contacting.
Edit: I Got in! I will showing throughout March and I have a reception on the 23rd. I am so cash right now.

I didn't slip in the shower.

Here's a few good things that happened in the past 12 months:
1. Got promoted last year
2. Got a bonus this year equivalent to 12 days of pay
3. Got an annual merit increase .4% higher than the dept avg allocation
4. Last but not least, this year is my 25th service anniversary with the company
Now, all I need is a nice piece O' ass to go with it. :-\ Oh well, can't have everything I guess.

Oh, yeah, and Ryo Okumoto joined my band, The ANABASIS, full time - pretty cool to have the keyboard player from one of my favorite bands of all time (Spock's Beard) in my own band.

Our debut album is almost complete. Drums will be recorded at Karl Groom's Thin Ice Studios in April. We're just finishing up backing vocals.
Sorry for the shameless plug, but it is a HUGE accomplishment for me, three years of work, actually.

I remember you posted that on mike portnoys forums. I didnt even realize you were a member here. lol. But still great job.
-
I succeeded in breaking the high E string on all my guitars.
:sadpanda:
-
I posted earlier in the thread and somehow neglected to mention that I earned my private pilot certificate on May 4 of last year.
-
I successfully made chili and bacon cheeseburgers without burning anything.
-
I'm about to finish a recording studio I'm putting up with a friend. It's all going well, and it should be operating in 3 months. :metal
-
u better be putting out some dope rap brah.
-
100 facebook fanpage likes. I'm proud of every one :)
-
Got a 91 on my bio test. Had an extremely stressful week with a test in every class, and I thought I bombed my bio one, so I'm pretty happy with that grade.
-

How could I overlook this. I seriously tip my hat to you sir. May your success be long and fruitful.

1) Was design engineer and now am project manager for two of my companies largest projects; totaling $2.3 mil and $5.1 mil each.
2) Reached an "intermediate" level in French; I can hold a decent conversation and read quite well
3) Got accepted into a 1-year study abroad program in France in Mechanical Engineering (leaving this May) with EUR800 per month stipend for the program
4) Broke $60K USD income (which I will loose this may, sigh)
5) I have now slept with a girl of every major race (white, Asian, black, Indian, middle eastern, Hispanic)
6) Fell in love with the girl I am currently seeing (haven't told her)
7) Got ilvl-352 on my protection Warrior
8) Won my first sparring match against an advanced student at my martial arts school
9) Was told the other day by a model that I have "beautiful skin." In high school I was plagued with acne and the last thing I would ever think to hear was that. I was in total shock.
-
I didn't slip in the shower.
Still hasn't happened, i think it's quite the accomplishment.
