I used to be a butterfingers guy, but I think I'm undergoing a paradigm shift...right now it's about equal for me, leaning toward Reeses. But they both have their strong points (and weak points).
Butterfingers are more filling, have better texture, plus they take longer to eat if you're a candy pig like me. On the downside, they are really messy and stick in your teeth.
Reeses are more flavorful and delicate. They are much richer than Butterfingers. Unfortunately, you only get two per pack (four if king size) and they get downed in two bites apiece.
...I can't decide! >_<

Butterfingers are horrible.
-
Reeses are superior. I don't mind Butterfinger though.

My thoughts exactly.

I slightly prefer Reeses, but also love Butterfingers.

I don't eat candy much, but I fucking love Reeses. Every now and again I buy a butterfingers and always end up thinking to myself, "why did I get this?".
And lets not forget.

I used to like Butterfinger too, but for some reason I don't get the same satisfaction I used to out of the crunching. I much prefer the smoothness of Reese's. Also, the crunchy stuff seems to coagulate into some kind of sticky substance that I can't get off my teeth, and that's really the dealbreaker.
Also, I want a big piece of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Premium Ice Cream Cake. That looks fantastic!
-
Reese's cups are the perfect candy.
-
Reese's cups are the perfect candy.
False.
Reese's Christmas trees are the perfect candy.
-
I'd actually say Snicker's Eggs are the best candy.
-
Tough choice. When I was a little kid Reeses used to be the most valued candy because it was the one everyone wanted but now I think i prefer Butterfingers slightly.
-
I like both of them, but I slightly prefer Reese's.
Though, Snicker's is the best them.
-
Reeses Fastbreaks were my favorite Reeses product for a long time. Then they put in more peanut butter and less nugget which kinda ruined it. Lets all get serious though. Kit Kat bars are easily the best them.
-
I prefer Butterfinger because of the texture.
My favorite candy bar, though, is either Snickers or Skor/Heath.
-
I like Butterfingers. I love Reeses.

absolutely butterfingers...I will eat reeses if laying out, but wouldn't pay money for them
-
Butterfinger is the world's most amazing candy bar. If I ever get a craving for candy, it's this.
-
Reeses definately. Butterfingers are gross.
-
Butterfingers are good, but Reeses are the king candy bar.
-
absolutely reeses...I will eat the souls of banned DTF members if laying out, but wouldn't pay money for them
Me too, with the above corrections.
-
Well, there you go.
Borlag awaits!
-
Reeses by a mile.
-
On the downside, they are really messy and stick in your teeth.
This is why I don't like Butterfingers. I spend half the time scraping them off my teeth.
-
reeses times a billion

They ruined the Fastbreak?!
-
We don't have those in Finland.. :yeahright So i'll say Snickers even though it's not an option! :hat
-
I rarely eat candy, but when I do, I prefer Reese's.

I tend to give this honor to Pay-Days. They are without a doubt the one I get the most cravings for.

This.
-
Reeses by a landslide.
-
I don't eat candy anymore (unless it is like 90% dark chocolate or above, though 100% is just nasty). But when I did, Reese's was my favorite.
Now, the flavor of Butterfingers is amazing (as seen in the BF Crunch bar). But on its own, the teeth stickiness kills it.
-
No candy.
-
I don't eat candy very often, but I think i slightly prefer Butterfingers. But both are delicious.

I don't eat candy anymore (unless it is like 90% dark chocolate or above, though 100% is just nasty).
I don't consider dark chocolate candy, particularly at the level you're eating. I have similar tastes, but I don't mind going down to 80% if the sweet isn't that noticeable. I'd bet you're wrong, on your own tastes, about 100% if you like 90%. You have to explore more to find 100% that's palatable. In my mind the higher the percentage on darks the more skill it takes to perfect.
At 70% almost any bar is too sweet so most places have no trouble getting it ok.
At 80% most are at least ok, but some places make the sweet too strong(as a cover imo) and others start to have bad taste.
At 90% it is hard to find a good bar, sweet can't be used well as a cover any more so badly done products can't hide anymore.
At 100% almost everything is bad. There's just no room to hide if you can't make a good bar.
See if you can find a Cuorenero 100% bar. I was amazed when I first had it. Distinctly 100% chocolate without all the negatives you expect. No need at all to nibble at it to negate bitterness or vileness, it's great stuff.

Dark Chocolate blows.
-
Unless it's good dark chocolate it's a complete waste.
-
Your avatar makes that post seem funnier.

Reeses is milk chocolate, is it not?
Kit Kat bars are easily the best them.
Those go down even faster than Reeses! (I will concede that white chocolate Kit Kats are the best them)
-
NOOOOOOOOOO! I voted Reeses, but I meant to vote Butterfinger. I like Reeses but not as much.
-
I like Butterfingers. I love Reeses.
This.
-
I voted Reeses. Both are delicious, but only one created a debacle in my mouth afterwards. Reese's Pieces are the real winner though :metal
-

Definitely Reeses. If I'm going to have a candy bar, I'm going to take a Three Musketeers over a Butterfinger any day.
-

Though I love Reese's Cups, I've never really been a fan of Reese's Pieces. Dunno why.

Big Kats own Kit Kats (when you can find them, anyway).
-
Never heard of Big Kats but if they exist like you say I might have to abandon Reeses.
This inspires a new question in my mind...
Reeses King Size...or Reeses Big Cup?
:yarr
-
What you need are the giant Resse's cups. The whole package is bigger than my head, and totals 12 servings.
So yeah, Reese's. Butterfingers are good as well, but Clark bars are better than Butterfingers, so I don't eat them as much anymore.
-
I'll take a Reese anytime if offered. Butterfingers are something I need to be in the mood for.

I guess I lump candy and chocolate together, since it's usually all chocolate based anyway.
I guess Baker's chocolate is not the way to go? I am trying to kill off all the sugar. I bought a Ghierdella (whatever that name is, too lazy to Google it) 100% bar and it is still kinda nasty, but not as bad as baker's chocolate.
I'm also trying to avoid the soy lecithin that is found in the chocolates. I'm not worried though as I haven't had any craving for chocolate nowadays.
-
Tomorrow I am going to enter a new realm of deliciousness. I am going to eat a butter finger, a kit cat, and a resees... all at the same time.
-
Baker's chocolate isn't even an attempt to make it edible plain. Kind of like how low end brandy isn't meant to be drank in a sniffer but works well for mixed drinks. Good Baker's chocolate should work well in baking, not tasting it straight.
The Ghirabaldi 100% is not a good chocolate bar. Lots of places make 100% and 99% chocolate bars, and most of them are as bad as Ghirabaldi, overpowering bitterness and/or the sensation that you're eating bark. I think these places do it for novelty, not because they actually know how to do it well. You know when you've found someone that really understands how to work chocolate when you find a good 100% bar.
If you want to really try 100%, track down the one I mentioned above.

You'll find a Big Kat in literally every gas station in CT. I always wanted a Big Kat king size.... Basically a regular Kit Kat but quadrupole the size.
-
Not a big fan of Butterfingers but Reese's is my 2nd favorite candy to Hershey's Cookies and Cream :)

After doing some research, I found out that Japan has a wide assortment of Kit Kat flavors...some look appetizing but some are like those nasty Harry Potter every flavor jellybeans...the grossest I found is an Earl Grey Tea Kit Kat.

Big Kat .... Basically a regular Kit Kat but quadrupole the size.
That. It's like one segment of a Kit Kat blown up to the size of a baby's forearm. The chocolate is much thicker on it, which makes the chocolate-to-wafer ratio perfect.

I think I would break my not eating candy thing for a Big Kat. For real. I used to love eating the chocolate off of the bar (like you said, it is thick), and then eating the huge wafer.

Totally. I do that with most candy bars that are made out of multiple pieces of goodness.

Reeses :metal
-
The thing I don't like about Butterfingers is that it sticks to your teeth.
-
I love the miniature Resse's PB Cups. They have a higher ratio of chocolate to PB, which I like. My wife loves the Christmas trees which have a ton more PB to chocolate. I'm pretty much an equal opportunity eater when it comes to candy. I love pretty much all of it.
-
Usually I'll pick up the reeses big cups, I love a higher peanut butter to chocolate ratio and these things are....well.... big.

I'll agree with you on that. But the big cups are all year round!

I had one once, and it was awesome. But I couldn't figure out if the ratio was slightly different, improving it a bit, or it was just amazing because it was huge and I could take huge bites at a time.
Same with the Reese's eggs. Is the ratio different, or it is just amazing because you can chomp down mass quantities at a time?
-
Americans only get two Reese's cups per package? What the fuck is this shit?
Reese's is the best chocolate.
-
We have a 2 pack and a 4 pack. I could have sworn at one time there were 3 packs....
-
I've seen 3-packs, usually as a special promotion for the same price as a 2-pack.
-
I think when I was a cub scout we would see candy to raise money. I think we had 3 packs of resees, and kit kats that were 6 pieces.
-
I had the Reeses mini's last night.... Holy shit.
-
Yesterday I had TWO (I KNOW) Godiva chocolate bars, 31% Cocoa, with salted caramel. Oh. My God.

Break me off a piece of that next level Big Kat bar. Smart.

I can't eat Butterfinger, for a reason that might sound silly to some.
My grandmother's favorite candybar was Butterfinger, and the only time I can remember eating them is when she bought one for her and one for me. As she got older, it got harder for her to eat them, so one time I bought her the Butterfinger Crisp. She could sort of let it dissolve in her mouth and still enjoy it. It meant a lot to me to see her enjoy something she thought she could no longer enjoy.
After she passed, I bought a Butterfinger. I couldn't bring myself to finish it because I felt it was a "Grandma and me" thing I was doing without her. My eyes are about to tear up as I write this... But yeah. I haven't eaten a Butterfinger since she died.
-
That's... kinda sad. :( Maybe you can turn it around. Enjoy one in her memory, instead of being sad that you can't enjoy them together anymore.
There's these Chinese candies called Haw Flakes that my grandfather used to get for me every time we went to visit him in Toronto. I love them, and I still think of my grandfather every time I eat them.

Reese's fast break. Problem solved.
-
Fast Break is no better when it comes to the complaints about Reese's. The problem is that since Butterfinger is crunchy, it takes longer to eat. Anything Reese's makes can be downed in like 20 seconds.

Im almost certain Reeses makes something with nuts and crunch in it.

Reeses are in 3-packs in the Great White North. Must be painful to be confined to a two-pack.

In Canada, we have packs of 2, 3 or 4. Oddly enough, if you go to a dollar store, you can normally find the 3 and 4 packs for the same price :-\

Yeah but our regular is 3. Whatever, it's a futile argument anyway, I could just buy 2 packs of 2 in the states for the same price we pay for 1 pack of 3 up here. :yeahright
