Title: 30 Rock
Post by: MetalMike06 on January 18, 2011, 01:57:19 PM
Surprised there isn't a thread for this show, as it seems to be pretty popular. (at least, I couldn't find one from searching)

Anyway, a while back I saw an episode and just couldn't get into it at all, but recently I started watching it on Netflix from the beginning of the first season and am actually enjoying it a lot.

Any other fans?

I have been watching since season 1, although I have fallen a few weeks behind on this season. The show has had so many good moments. I like how a few of the characters have ended up getting more screen time as the show has progressed. I love Mr. Jordan and his side kicks Dot Com and Griz.

Here I really like the show is one of my favorites, but the Tracy segments are getting annoying...
But Tina Fey  :heart :hefdaddy

The Jack Donaghey character is genius.

I love the show, but I'm getting worried about where they're taking it. I liked the premise that they're working on a show and dealing with the challenges that come from that, but now it's turning into... Something else. I don't care about Liz's boyfriend Carol or Jack's baby.

The Jack Donaghey character is genius.

Absolutely. I loved it when the writers found that website that uses Jack's voice.

"Obama is very presidential--"

"Alright, enough!"

One of the 5 shows I can't miss.  The dry humor, the delivery of these lines are second to none.

I recently started getting into this too thanks to my girlfriend introducing me to it. And by "started getting into it" I mean in the last month I've caught up to the newest episodes from not seeing it at all :P

"I AM A JEDIIIII! I AM A JEDIIII!"

I honestly don't get the praise for the show. And I don't get the praise for Alec Baldwin. I've seen quite a few episodes, but they never struck me as funny. Especially since it has Tracey Morgan, one of the unfunniest people to ever grace SNL. And I never really like Tina Fey either

And Alec Baldwin stole the Emmy from Jim Parsons, who deserved it WAY more

I like the show but am way behind. Don't watch much tv these days besides Daily Show + Colbert

Parsons lost the Emmy to Baldwin in 2009, won it (beating Baldwin) in 2010, and beat Baldwin in this year's Golden Globes.

Well don't let it happen again. God.

Kidding of course. Parsons edges Baldwin out for me, just barely though.

I can't stand Tiny Fey nor the "super funny" Tracy Morgan.

The only reason why I think Tracy Morgan is funny is because he, to me at least, is a parody of black stereotypes, which to me is really funny. He's so over the top.

It's consistently very good, and a show I watch every week. I just don't usually find it to reach the comedic heights that many of my favorite comedies have.

New episodes start tomorrow. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I've already run out of clean pairs of pants to poop in.

*bump*... Just started getting into this show... I've always watched it on and off and thought it was pretty good, but I just finally really started watching through from Season 1.  Absolutely brilliant.  All the best jokes seem to be the ones that you'll completely miss if you blink.  For example, when I heard this brief exchange I nearly died laughing at both the absurdity of it and the amazingly perfect timing and delivery by Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan

Jack:  Look, Tracy, I can't just give you money. But what I can do is show you how you can earn all the money you need. You must know Arsenio.
Tracy:  Hall or Billingham
Jack: You know someone named Arsenio Billingham?
Tracy: No.

Amazing show. My roomate started watching it from season 1, so I've had a chance to see most of them just recently, and it made me appreciate it that much more.

The writing on the show is second to none.  You almost have to watch it twice to soak up the lines and the actors deliveries.

^^^ Definitely.  I can't count the number of times I've had a rewind and rewatch a scene because of that feeling that there was a joke I missed.

Preppy White Boys: Have you ever drunk a yard of beer?!
Tracy: A yard like a lawn? Why, yes I have!
