Hey everyone. I'll be doing a new interview with Jason Slater, the writer/producer of the last few Queensryche albums, in the near future.
I'd like your questions. Fire away! Everything is open for discussion - Queensryche, record production/mixing/engineering, gear, Snake River Conspiracy, Geoff Tate Solo Band experiences, other bands and projects, etc., etc.
And by everything, I mean, EVERYTHING. This one will be very candid. But I expect anything you post to be respectful and polite. I won't guarantee that I'll ask everything, but I do guarantee I'll be using some of what you ask as questions for him.
So, give it up, and post up here what you'd like to know from Jason.

What do you think of the Cabaret? Are you involved with it at all?
(If the answer to that question is common knowledge, nevermind. I don't keep up with Queensryche very much.)

Do you feel kinda strange that you, a non-band member, are writing all of their new material?
Not so serious question: how the fuck do you sleep at night and can't you just let these guys get the picture that they should try writing things by their own selves and getting a real freakin' Chris DeGarmo replacement?

Hmm, I'm curious about Parker Lundgren. What is Jason's opinion on Parker and the band adding a guitarist half their age that was in a relationship with Tate's daughter? Was that a wise move image-wise for a band like QR? Does Parker fit in well with the guys?

I would be very interested to hear the answers to these questions. My impression of the band is that they've grown bored and aimless and the quality and artistry of their music has gone way down because of it. Do they feel they're still writing and performing at their peak, are they trying to recapture the magic that their fans loved twenty years ago, are they trying to forge a new sound for themselves, or do they just not care and keep making whatever music they feel like?

Are you comfortable with the random, sparatic direction the band have been taking for the last few years?
How do Michael, Scott and Eddie feel about you taking over their band and not letting them write material when they have been doing so for 25 years and had full involvement along side Tate and Degarmo? They were a crucial part, seems like now you are pushing them out and just making them the props.
Why is Kelly Gray still involved with this band?

You write material and come home with a paycheck, I very much understand and respect that, but how do you handle Tate running around acting like himself and/or the band are doing more than they actually are?
