While I consider Rush and Dream Theater my two favorite bands, there is no single force in either of those bands that is solely responsible for the music I love so much. So when I'm asked who my favorite songwriter is that title falls to Arjen Lucassen (with Steven Wilson close behind you raging fanboys), and it was an absolute honor for me to be able to talk with Arjen a bit about the new Star One album Victims of the Modern Age. This album is musically amazing and deserves your support, and on top of that Arjen has been, and always has been one to reach out and talk to fans and so I hope that you can all appreciate that.
You can find the interview at www.wpapu.com along with a review of the album.
There are two tracks currently streaming online

First Redemption, then Shadow Gallery and Haken, and now Arjen? The people you interview keep getting more and more famous. I'm seriously looking forward to when you interview one of the DT guys for the first time, as I'm sure it'll happen soon.
Listening to the interview and have just read the review. One issue: maybe you could put the newest reviews on the site first? It's just kinda weird having to scroll through the old reviews to get to the new ones.
Also, I have really been thrilled with anything Arjen has done since THE. Though I've barely heard Guilt Machine-- just what you've played on your show. Would you recommend this new star one over 0101011? Basically for my Ayreon fix I've been debating whether to get Guilt Machine finally or this.

Could you, or someone, transcribe it for me. I have dinosaur internet connection and have no way to hear it, but would like to. If so thanks, this sounds interesting.

Awesome Nick! My friend is a huge Arjen fan so I will be sure to show him this interview.

I could *maybe* get LaBrie seeing as how he is promoting the hell out of the solo tour and has worked with ProgRock Records in the past, but it's not something I ever expect to happen.

Yeah, it's a good idea, it's just having things in reverse numerical order would bother me. I might switch it up and see if I like it.

I'd say the new Star One album is by a decent margin the best thing Arjen has done since The Human Equation.

Transcribing wouldn't be all that practical, I'd suggest right clicking on the link and saving target as, that way you can download the interview in the background no matter how long it takes and just listen to it at a later time.

Thanks, it's always nice to have someone spread the word of the show, much appreciated!

Looking forward to listening to it when I get home.

Cool, let me know what you think.
And I KNOW there are a lot more Ayreon fans on this forum, where are you?!?

I shall be having a listen tomorrow. :)

Should have asked him if he at least wore a condom when he raped the ending of THE.

I love the ending.

Haven't listened to the interview yet, but those songs are excellent. Gonna pick this up for sure.
And THE, IMO is really one of the deepest, most diverse rides in the history of prog.

Thanks for the links, gonna check them out.
