I already talked to him about this. We do share Metallica as a favorite band, but, with them being pretty diverse, we have entirely different tastes when it comes to them alone. I'm still learning his music tastes...he's constantly suprising me and he hates plenty of mine.
As for him possibly being biased, I really can't judge. But like I said, we talked. (And tbh, knowing Cole? I swear, we're always competing with each other. I most likely have a disadvantage.) However, I know you guys may think I'm exaggerating or bsing you or you still think that this is unfair, so...if a lot of you really think I should leave this, I won't be offended. DTVT-Circle II Circle-Heal You: There really is not much to say about the song. The singer is great. The chorus is pretty good. The instrumentation is simple but it works. (save for the solo, that shit is insane, but very good) It is generally a very decent song. Nothing really stands out. I do have to admit it could be because this is the last song I’ve listened to and I’m just writing this and I want to get the results out quickly. I can assure you though, it would not change the placement of the song. It is very middle of the road and maybe below it. I see you doing well in the future.

It reminded me of the few Trivium songs that I’ve heard that were good, gone horribly bad. Shit vocal production over shitty and whiney screams. To be honest, the chorus stopped me from giving it a personal rating of 1, and even with that, it just got a 3. The way I look at it is...
Classic was in the ear of the sender. If he thought it was classic, then he had every right to send it. If I was judging songs based on what I called a "classic" then the score would look different. But I didn't. I judged based on the songs I dug from what the senders felt were classic.

I've been messeging antigoon, and he's cool with me running a roulette simultanious with his. I would stagger mine by two days so that the action is even and wait times for spectators are less. Dismissing music without vocals is so close-minded. You are missing out on so much amazing music. Hearing an instrumental song and saying you "just drift off" is a big what to me. It sounds like the only thing you actively listen to in music are the vocals, because they are words, things you can connect with. Like a song goes through your head and vocals are focused on, and the "music" is just sound in the background. I simply don't understand. :| I bet if you were a musician (are you?) you would hear instruments a different way and actually be able to just sit and listen to instruments making sounds without a person saying words over them.
I'm still trying to decide what to send. I think I have one that will win the game, but I'd really like to send something from a relatively obscure band I really love and seems like it gets overlooked here, just not sure which song of theirs to send that I know numbers would definately like.
