Title: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Sigz on September 03, 2010, 01:41:52 PM
So I made a thread about them many many moons ago, which got like one response. However, I know now that there are at least several fans out there, and we've pretty much just been spamming every thread with EISLEYEISLEYEISLEY, so I figured we should have a thread.

I only have Room Noises thus far but I absolutely love this record. I really like the harmonized vocals and the songwriting. They really are becoming a favorite of mine! :heart

Reporting in. I've already made it clear on multiple occasions how obsessed with this band I've recently become, so I'll refrain from mindless ranting proclaiming my undying love for them for the sake of not being obnoxious.

Every song on Room Noises except for Just Like We Do is a worthy candidate of the title "the best song ever."

Goon, you'll have to fight me for Sherri. Like, seriously. We're throwing down. Rite nao. *puts on boxing gloves* Let's go motherfucker.

Stacy looks kind of weird without black hair. I think that's why I prefer Sherri, because she looks good no matter what she does with her hair.

What do you mean?
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread

I mean it has its own distinct sound, its not just Room Noises Pt. 2.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gorille85 on September 17, 2010, 11:13:51 AM
Oh OK! :tup I think that's a good thing. Too many bands tries to recreate their albums over and over.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gadough on September 17, 2010, 04:52:36 PM
It's much more mature and serious. It lacks the lighthearted fluffiness of Room Noises. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, that's just the way it is.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Sigz on September 17, 2010, 04:54:05 PM
Yeah, Room Noises is much more 'whimsical', musically and lyrically.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Zantera on September 17, 2010, 04:55:48 PM
Well i didn't really question that it would sound different, but i guess the music doesn't really do as much for me as it does for some others here. :P
I do think Room Noises is a great album, not a single bad track, but overall it didn't made me think: "OMG, i HAVE to buy this like NOW", i smile when i listen to it, and it has a positive feeling overall. :)
Maybe i'll check out the other album in the future, but there's a lot of other artists/bands i've discovered lately that has had a bigger effect on me, so to speak.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread

Yeah, Room Noises is much more 'whimsical', musically and lyrically.

I've heard Ambulance and I like it a lot. I still want there to be some whimsical songs on the next album though.

In other news, One Day I Slowly Floated Away's chorus makes me bounce up and down in my chair. So irresistible.

It's not quite 50/50...Stacy and Sherri do share vocal duties, but Sherri does a bit more than Stacy. Usually.

I have a hard time distinguishing who is who on vocals.

So do I sometimes. A good rule of thumb is to remember that Stacy is slightly lower in pitch than Sherri.

Here's a good way to get used to who's who...listen to the songs "I Wasn't Prepared" and "Trolley Wood." Both songs start with Sherri. In I Wasn't Prepared, Stacy enters at about 0:57. In Trolley Wood, Stacy enters at about 0:40. That should give you a basic idea of the differences in their voices.

I love Sherri so much that I just watched a 5 minute video of her talking about what she uses to draw. And I couldn't give a fuck less about what she's saying because I don't even draw.

I keep trying to listen to this album but I just keep playing Golly Sandra over and over again.

If I were to rank the songs on Room Noises, that would be #11.

........

Actually, I think I'm gonna do that right now!

1. Lost at Sea
2. I Wasn't Prepared
3. Plenty of Paper
4. Memories
5. Brightly Wound
6. One Day I Slowly Floated Away
7. Marvelous Things
8. Telescope Eyes
9. Trolley Wood
10. My Lovely
11. Golly Sandra
12. Just Like We Do

4-10 was nearly impossible to rank.

Quote from: https://blogs.dallasobserver.com/dc9/2010/11/eisley_announces_new_label_pla.php#more
Today, after a two-year battle with Warner Bros. Records, Eisley, the Tyler-based, indie rock family band, is moving forward with plans to release their long-awaited third record. And, for the first time in their career it will come on an indie label, as the band tells DC9 that its new record will see release on the New York-based Equal Vision Records in March 2011.

It's a bit of an odd fit for Eisley, whose fairy tale indie pop will be at odds with the label's mostly emo roster, but, after a disappointing eight-year run with Warner Bros. + Reprise Records, during which the band released two full-length records and seven EPs, the band appears mostly happy just to be out of the major label rigmarole.

"When Equal Vision Records came and approached us, they came down to Tyler to hang out with us, which is amazing," singer and guitarist Sherri DuPree-Bemis tells DC9 over the phone from Eisley's tour bus. "And that was different. I mean, no one from Warner Bros. ever came down to hang out with us, get to know us, and talk about the record with us."

More details on the upcoming release after the jump.

The change in label homes has been a long time coming for the band, which had been fighting for release from Warner Bros. since the 2007 release of its sophomore full-length, Combinations.

"I definitely feel like they held us back, because when you're on a major label, you count on them to promote your record and get your music out there," DuPree-Bemis says. "When you're counting on a big company to do that for you, and that's their job, and they don't do it, it does end up hurting your career."

But, she says, the label begged them to stay and promised them that they would get more attention on a new deal with Sire Records, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers. So the band agreed to stay on, and began recording their third record. When it was complete, though, the disc's reception at Sire Records was more than disappointing.

"They didn't get it," says DuPree-Bemis. "[Our A&R guy] told us 'I don't think this label's going to work for you like you need. If you guys want to get off the label, I think you should.'"

But the label wouldn't let them have the songs recorded for that effort.

"We lost another year, basically, just waiting, and trying, and fighting to get the record from them," DuPree-Bemis says. "We finally got on good terms. We finally got the record, and we're going to put it out on Equal Vision Records."

As for the new record's name?

"It might be called The Valley after one of the songs," says DuPree-Bemis. "It seems to fit the theme of the record--what we've been through as a band."

Keep an eye out for am upcoming profile on the band and its recent label struggles in an upcoming issue of the Observer, as the band continues its nationwide tour, which wraps up in Dallas on Saturday, November 27, at The Loft.

Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gadough on November 08, 2010, 11:23:30 PM
So, I'm thinking about running an Eisley survivor about a month or so after the 3rd album comes out (to give us all ample time to form ranked opinions). It would include the 3 studio albums as well as all of the studio tracks scattered across the EPs that don't appear anywhere else, grouped together. I think this would be interesting because unlike bands such as Dream Theater and Coheed and Cambria, the results of the survivor wouldn't be clear cut at all. Since every Eisley song is about the same length and there aren't any fan favorite standouts (unlike DT with Octavarium and ACOS, etc.) the results of the survivor could be anyone's guess, and would thus be worth running and would be interesting.

I think there's enough people to warrant it. Right off the top of my head I can think of several people who may participate:

Me
Sigz
Gorille
Antigoon
Glaurung
Sonata
TheCrowing
Zantera
SkyDivingNinja perhaps?

I'm sure there's a few I'm forgetting? Honestly, I'd be satisfied with 5 voters per round. So who's in?

Well in the latest press release they said the album could be titled "The Valley" after one of the songs on the record....so my guess is there will DEFINITELY be a song very very very similar to The Valley on the next album :neverusethis:

Probably...Taking Control. Ten Cent Blues and I Could Be There For You are both close seconds, the latter being so because of Chauntelle's part. :heart

A Sight to Behold is great also, because it's actually hard-rockish. :metal

Ten Cent blues is definitely my favorite, though. I kinda wanna do a top 10 now.

I know I'm in the minority but I think Combinations is just as strong as Room Noises. They're very different records and I appreciate them for different reasons.

It excites me so much that the two songs we've heard from the new album are among the best in their catalogue. The Valley is going to be amazing.

It's a great album, at this stage I would say that it is on par with room noises.

I found a used copy of the Laughing City EP yesterday and just gave it a spin. A random collections of thoughts:

It made me realize how happy I am with their production nowadays. The versions of I Wasn't Prepared and Telescope Eyes sounds like demos compared to what appeared on Room Noises.

Holy fuck distorted guitar. They didn't save it for special occasions back then, it's in every song!

I really like the three B-sides on the album, Tree Tops, Over the Mountain, and Laughing City. I'm glad I picked this up just for them.

What? There are some pretty nice bass parts. Nothing uber technical or in your face, but I think you would notice if the bass was actually taken out.

wot

I only know Room Noises (heard Combinations once), but the bass definitely enhances the music, and fills it out nicely on the bottom end of the scale (their songs seem to tend to higher registers, which the bass complements nicely).

Once again we disagree.  Maybe I'm a bit biased in this regard, but they'd lose a lot without a bass player.  There's a lot of nice, tasteful, simple stuff in the low end.

I'm not sure how much Garron actually brings to the table that another bassist couldn't, but they certainly need a bass player. Gadough, as usual you fail terribly at life.

Post by: Jamesman42 on January 25, 2011, 06:03:24 PM
Are you a musician? The bass is definitely there. Maybe your speakers are bad, but even then, you would definitely notice a difference (it would feel "airy" and not full).

But I know that sometimes, non-musicians don't know that sort of stuff, which is understandable.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread

Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gadough on January 25, 2011, 06:09:37 PM
No I'm not a musician, but I don't think you have to be to notice a bass presence. I can usually pick out the bass player in any band I listen to, regardless of how buried he is in the mix. But you're right, I'm sure if they took him out I would notice a difference, I just don't like that I can't pick him out. But that's my own fault, I guess.

Listen to Marvelous Things, you can definitely hear him come in after the first "Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah". That's probably a good way to gauge the bass on the album, at least partly.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gadough on January 25, 2011, 06:26:39 PM
OK see I can totally hear it there because you pointed out a specific part for me to focus on. But if I were just listening to the song in passing, I never would have heard him.

And btw, I can't for the life of me pick it out in the chorus. I just can't. I'm trying really hard.

It stays the same, it's just that the chorus gets louder from the other instruments. I can still follow it through the chorus. and the second verse after the chorus the bass is very audible as the other instruments really quiet down.

Some other factors:

1. kps. I have Room Noises at 320 kps, which is great. Really brings out a lot of the crisp and clean sound quality. You may have a lower kps, I don't know.
2. Speakers: If you have crappy speakers, it may be harder to notice it. (although my speakers are run of the mill).
3. Like I said, if the other instruments go from soft to loud (like in Marvelous Things, you may lose where the bass "was going", but it is still there, which leads me to point number 4
4. Sometimes the bass is more felt than heard. I find that I can sometimes feel where it is without actually knowing what's the general bassline being played.

Oh my god I got to meet them (except Weston, he was playing roadie) and got a poster and my copy of Room Noises signed.  They were SUPER nice and so adorable in person. :caffeine:  We have a shitty cell phone picture with them (my friend and I both forgot real cameras  )  They played a bunch of new songs beyond the three that have been officially released, and all of them were very good.  The new album is going to be great! :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine:

Here's the setlist (spoilers)

Better Love (new song)
Golly Sandra
Many Funerals
Brightly Wound
Smarter
The Valley
Invasion
I Wasn't Prepared
Sad (new song)
Ambulance
Mr. Moon (new song)

I think that's right...

Another unfortunate truth about the complimentary legal album download: they don't tell you you only have three chances.  So trying to download twice on accident while chrome felt like crashing, followed by the recent ACTUAL download attempt until I saw it was going to take 16 days and rising means I can't get my free download  :(.  Sent an email to MerchNow.  Hopefully they'll help.

Yeah, I think most of the lyrics are inspired by Sherri's failed marriage with the New Found Glory guy and, according to Spin, a broken engagement on Stacy's end, combined with all the record label troubles, there's a lot more sadness than the last two but the music's still fairly optimistic.

I'm digging this album a lot more now, current favourites are 'Sad', 'Ambulance', 'Better Love' and 'Mr Moon'.

A couple of gripes...

- The valley is an awesome song but they needed to more with that bridge or at least have it come back in over the final chorus or something.
- They recycled a melody in 'Watch it Die' where it goes 'I don't have the time' it is exactly the same as 'Let's give it a try' in Come Clean off combinations. Not sure why this annoys me so much but it really affects my enjoyment of the song which is otherwise great.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread

Really?  I don't think it sounded exactly the same...
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread

It's not the same. And I think The Valley is perfect.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: shadowfex on March 02, 2011, 07:05:00 PM
OK it's not exactly the same but it is enough for me to think the next line coming is 'let's keep it for truth' and it bugs me.

But, overall, this album delivers.

Tour dates announced!

Quote

Eisley will launch a six-week U.S. headlining tour in late April, supporting their third album, The Valley (Equal Vision Records). The Turning Tides Tour kicks off April 26 in Atlanta, and the run of club dates will also include a set at The Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on May 1 and a headlining slot at Bled Fest in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on May 28. See reverse for a complete list of dates.

The Valley debut...s this week at #75 on the Billboard 200 Current Albums chart and also hit #5 on Amazon MP3's Top 10 Album Chart for the week and #3 on Amazon's New Albums chart.

Reviews of the album have been universally positive. The Big Takeover has already declared it "one of the best albums of 2011," while Creative Loafing Tampa said, "Eisley comes off as more orchestrated, more mature, and more inspiring than ever." Under The Radar said that "the tunes are imminently enjoyable and the interplay among the DuPrees' voices is always thrilling." The Boston Globe wrote, "In almost every Eisley song, there's something -- a turn of phrase or a curl of the melody or a shift of the chords -- that doesn't go quite where you'd expect it to. [There's a] sense of shining a light into corners to which most acts don't bother paying attention." And AbsolutePunk.net said, "Even when I write that The Valley is the band's best album yet, it still feels like a huge understatement - like I'm not giving the album enough credit. Just believe this: The Valley is an album that will stick with you."

What sucks about most of the American-bands/artists, is that touring outside of USA is not on the map.
Sucks for me, I'll never get to see Eisley or Thrice for example.  :sadpanda:

I wouldn't say never. They are starting to get bigger.

I'm pretty sure Thrice has played in Europe, at least I know they've played festivals before.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Zantera on March 10, 2011, 03:59:21 PM
Well probably, but it's probably like 200 gigs in USA, 3-4 in Europe. :P
It's kinda obvious if you compare American bands/artists to others, a band from Europe (for example) would most likely play several gigs in USA, but most likely the biggest cities mainly.
American bands has to play every little town with 50 citizens, just because.  ;)
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Sigz on March 10, 2011, 04:37:00 PM
I'm honestly not sure where you're getting this idea from, as there's plenty of American bands that have an easier time touring Europe than America (Spock's Beard and Rosetta just off the top of my head).
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: skydivingninja on March 10, 2011, 08:22:15 PM
Yeah Thrice have definitely played Europe before.  Target markets man.  You don't often see small indie rock/pop bands touring outside of America.  It just doesn't look like there's a huge demand for it in Europe the way there's a demand for it here.

Holy shit the valley is addictive. Basically, this is how it's gone:

1st listen (at the gym): this is nice.
2nd listen (on the way back): man, some of these songs are really good.
3rd listen (laying on my bed super tired): best album I've heard from this year so far maybe?
4th listen (right now): every single one of these songs is my new favorite song!!!

This all happened today, btw.

My school was putting on a bunch of student-directed one-act plays for a theater class' final.  Being friends with lots of theater people, I attended.  After the last one, "Just Like We Do" came on the PA (they play songs before and after each play).  I was freaking out and singing along and grinning ear to ear.  Love how Eisley has that effect on me considering I've been listening to depressing Bright Eyes shit all week.

Eisley has also announced that they are currently recording a new EP, with an anticipated release of late 2011. Andy Freeman, who mixed the band’s latest release, The Valley, has joined the band in Tyler, TX to produce the album. Recording on location at the house of vocalist/guitarist Sherri DuPree-Bemis, Freeman has transformed the house into a high-tech recording studio.

The EP will feature more of Eisley’s signature sound of airy dreaminess delicately intertwined with breathtaking vocals, intricate, rich guitar work and whimsical lyrics.

Well that was pretty much the most beautiful thing ever. I didn't get to meet them though, I had to leave :sadpanda:

Set from what I can remember:

Ambulance
Smarter
Sad
Invasion
Golly Sandra
Better Love
I Wish
Mr. Moon
Please
One Last Song (new)
I Wasn't Prepared
Many Funerals
I Could Be There for You
Lights Out (new)
Oxygen Mask
Kind
192 Days (just the girls)

All of the new songs were great, I'm psyched for the EP now. Also met up with H, eh's a pretty cool guy.

Also, Stacey is absolutely gorgeous. Like, holy shit. Chauntelle is also a great singer, I hope she does more stuff on their next record.

Ambulance was a great opener.  I think you said you thought it would be the closer?  Oh well, either way it's a great song that I underrated before.

They didn't come out until like 12, at which point I was waiting in my car.  When they finally came out, I realized how awkward it would be if I just walked out of my car like a creepo, so I chickened out. :lol

Also, some dancing clapping dude from the back maneuvered his way to the front of the stage and got up with them.  It was pretty hilarious.

That's what I thought, but I honestly had no idea what I was talking about, I was just guessing.

How were the new songs?

Fan-fucking-tastic. One Last Song had this sexy as fuck instrumental bit with a solo from Chauntelle. Pants were smileed.

Also, Many Funerals absolutely slayed. I was never a huge fan of the studio version, but it kicked ass live.

Amazing show. Highlights for me were Many Funerals and Mr Moon, but every song was incredible. Stacy and Sherri sing so well live, and Chauntelle's part in ICBTFY was perfect. I wish I had recorded it.

I met the band after the show and got my ticket signed. I was so fucking nervous talking to them...I hope they didn't notice. I told Sherri that I spent two months listening to Room Noises on repeat. Then Stacy and Chauntelle both told me that they loved my shirt, and I high fived Stacy. :D

I have a pic with them, but I'm having trouble uploading it from my phone. I'll post it later.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gadough on October 01, 2011, 02:24:21 AM
Ok...unfortunately, two pictures were being taken at the same time here. Someone else was posing with them on Weston's side (who isn't in the shot for some reason). That's why Chauntelle is looking off in a different direction, and probably explains why Sherri looks so confused. I think she was the only one who knew what was going on, and she didn't know where to look. :lol

Oh well. At least Stacy knows what's up.

The Valley blows doors down....the urgency and fragility of performances is very tangible.  It is amazing to me how potent the lyrics are.  I have read reviews where people lament the loss of the whimsical vibe but I feel that, considering the issues the girls have faced, this was a logical progression for them.

https://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=2542662&

Quote
Eisley is currently preparing for the early 2012 release of their new 5-track EP. Andy Freeman, who also mixed The Valley, flew in from San Francisco, CA to record the EP at the homes of Sherri DuPree-Bemis and Chauntelle DuPree-D’Agostino, bringing with him his full studio set up to transform their homes into a high-tech recording studio. The ambitious project, fueled by passion and creativity, has resulted in a truly exquisite Eisley album that showcases their spirited songwriting, musicianship, and personalities.

Eisley’s eerie, imaginative storytelling is revealed through their extraordinarily haunting lyrics, ethereal and breathtaking harmonies, and the delicately interlaced richness of warm guitars and graceful piano lines. DuPree-Bemis describes the new EP as the band’s “dreamiest and most whimsical album” since Room Noises.

Too bad I will never get to see them live. :(

Why?

Cause they only tour in the states, and I wouldn't really do a trip to USA just for them. :P They could obviously become bigger in Europe, but to me they seem like one of the bands that are "comfortable" with just touring in the states.

Yeah, when I saw them Sherri mentioned a few times that they're always broke. I don't think they can afford to tour Europe.

Marksmen were really good too. It was an awesome show, there were only like 20 people there in total. It was basically just a room in the town hall. Setlist was perfect, I was so happy when they played Mr. Moon and Ambulance.  :D They seemed to have some sound issues though, Garron walked off the stage during the last song because his bass stopped working, he was pretty pissed
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Gadough on March 17, 2012, 04:32:49 PM
I can't imagine Garron getting pissed at anything. Hell, I can't imagine him having any sort of emotion. I don't think I've ever heard either brother talk, even when I met them.

But only 20 people? That sucks. They deserve so much more than that.

Any fan of Eisley might really like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9wmSXSID_4&fb_source=message

It's "indie-as-shit" according to the tags. Lofty female vocals. And there the similarities end. Still lovely.

I know I'm late to the party and everything, but Room Noises is amazing. The first 6 songs are just perfect - I feel there's somewhat of a dip after that and it becomes a bit repetitive but overall a very strong record.

I will continue with Combinations, I guess I'll go in chronological order.

Just got back from seeing them for the 2nd time. Fantastic show. I was up near the front next to Sherri. The band was really enjoying themselves. It was so much fun, and I can't wait to see them again in the future.

Sherri said that they've already recorded "8 or 9 songs" for the new album and that it should be out early next year.

I enjoyed some songs on it, but I haven't listened in a while. It kinda felt like "songs that didn't make it onto The Valley" (I don't know if that was the case), but sort of a B-sides feel.

I really like it, but it's not something I find myself listening to all that much.

It kinda felt like "songs that didn't make it onto The Valley" (I don't know if that was the case), but sort of a B-sides feel.

Not sure about the rest, but 192 Days is a b-side from The Valley. A demo of it was released on the Fire Kite EP back when they were sorting out all their record label shit prior to releasing The Valley.

I like Deep Space. To my mind, it is like a hybrid of The Valley and Room Noises. Any of those songs could have been on either of those two albums and fit perfectly.

I don't know about that, Hayden, but I see where you're coming from and I kind of agree. Kind of.

I like it about equal to The Valley. Which means it's at least better than Combinations.

Deep Space is a little too heavy to be on Room Noises, I guess, but the whimsical cutesyness is the common thread between them.

Combinations is a great album, I'd rank them all pretty consistent with each other.

Show was awesome, there was about 100 people I'd guess at the venue. They sounded phenomenal, the sound was perfectly clear and they were spot on the whole night, stronger than the albums most of the time.

We were the only ones that waited for them to come out after the show, as it was hot as fuck and back in an alley. They also only had a truck compared to the tour bus. For some reason I thought they owned that one I've seen in videos before, but I guess Weston said they rent a lot. (Which makes sense to what Gadough said earlier)

They were super nice also, they came right over as they were between moving gear out. There was a super shitty ramp out the back though and their gear ( only guitar and small cases) fell all over when they came out with the biggest load though haha.

Didn't get any photos with them as it was super hot and late, and in a dark alleyway behind the venue, but I got my copy of The Valley and the poster signed, with Merriment as well. It was a great show overall!

Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: glaurung on March 25, 2013, 02:14:32 PM
I think The Valley is their best too. There's still some of the whimsicality they had before but it also has a much better production/sound too it and they're bettwe songwirters now than they were when they were so young. Room Noises is still a really close second.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Zantera on March 25, 2013, 02:18:59 PM
Yeah I still really like Room Noises too. Like you said, they matured a lot with The Valley and I really like that. For some reason it seems like every other release the band puts out gets really positive response. Room Noises is an album most people seem to like, Combinations generally is a so-so album (some really like it, some think it's the weakest by far), The Valley got mostly positive when it came, and The latest EP also got so-so reception from what I noticed.

While I don't necessarily agree (I still like both Combinations and the EP), maybe the new album will be as good as The Valley or Room Noises.

So the new album is really nice. I wasn't blown away on the first listen, but with each listen since, another song or so has clicked.

Millstone, Drink the Water and Currents are my favorites so far.  :heart
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Aefenwelg on June 16, 2013, 11:57:04 PM
How come nobody ever talked about the new album?

Out of all their albums, it took the longest to click by far.
But I'm pretty comfortable saying it's my favorite now.

The only song that's not as good as the other's (I can't say it's not good, because it is still very good; it's just not as very good)
is Millstone.
Title: Re: The Eisley Thread
Post by: Zantera on June 17, 2013, 02:33:36 AM
The album took a while longer to click for me as well, but it is pure beauty. If I had to rank the songs from best to worst, I would say:

Millstone
Drink the Water
Wicked Child
Find Me Here
Blue Fish
Currents
The Night Comes
Save My Soul
Lost Enemies
Shelter
Wonder English
Real World

Millstone might just be my alltime favorite Eisley-song.  :hat

I listened to Room Noises, The Valley, Currents, and Combinations in that order... just because. There were a few gems throughout these albums, but ultimately they bored me. Thought I'd give this band a shot though. I do love the singers.

Also, pretty sure Paramore drew inspiration from this band when writing their latest.

You know what song is really great? "Save my Soul" from Currents. Those backing harmonies are so delicious.

It is!

Man, I was pretty much there from the beginning with Eisley–Room Noises was in constant rotation during my mid twenties.

That said, Currents is my personal favorite. That album has such a strong, cohesive sense of atmosphere. I love the instrumentation and, of course, the vocals are sublime.

Fun fact: Eisley was the name my wife and I had picked out if our youngest son had been a daughter.
