Ok, so I'll be driving up to see the Shadow Gallery concert this weekend, so I thought I'd have a little fun and see if who can design the best playlist for the trip (and possibly the return trip) The rules are simple:
- Playlist must be between 7.5 and 8.5 hours. That's a pretty big window.
- No Shadow Gallery. I don't listen to a band I'm about to see.
- No more than two (2) songs from a single band
- A song will be defined as one track on the disc it was released (for example, 6DoIT is 8 separate songs on the studio album, but would count as 1 song if the Score version is used.
- Specify if the tracks must be played in order, or if random is ok.
- Unless you specifically say so, I will assume the studio version is intended
- If you suggest a song I don't have, I will post whether I don't own just that album or anything by that band.
- Ratings will be based on enjoyability of songs (particularly while driving on interstates), originality of playlists, and playing to my tastes.
- Judging will take place Friday night...sometime around 9 or 10 EDT
Winner gets mad respect and props for having excellent taste in music.

I'm compiling a list now. I should probably pm it to you, because it's LONG.
EDIT: This is really fucking difficult.
-
PM's are good, but any corrections will be made public so I don't have to tell everyone individually I don't own Signify or whatever album/band gets listed a lot.
It's not supposed to be easy ;)

Yeah I looked at your top 150 albums list and I haven't heard of a lot of those albums. I picked 2 songs from all the artists I know on that list then added some of my personal favorite artists and songs.
Sent PM.
I just realized there was a few typos in that :lol
holy = only in the last few sentences.

Where's the Top 150 albums?

It's out of date, quite a few bands are missing (I should make a bands thread...that would stay more static).
Also, the following bands I don't have:
Aerosmith (not on CD at least)
Alter Bridge
A7X
Buckethead
Cradle of Filth
Coheed & Cambria
Deftones
The Human Abstract
Karnivool
Katatonia
Led Zepplin (grew up with them, never had the urge to buy)
Thrice
Of those, Karnivool and Katatonia have been on my "I need to check these guys out" list for a while.

Who the fuck recommended Cradle of Filth?

:lol It was just one song, Nyphetamine (Overdose). It's not in a similar style to most of their other stuff. It's fantastic though.
