Anybody else going to this one? I'm stoked :metal
-
I wish I could. Be sure to get there in time to see ZO2. EXCELLENT band!
-
First post! :tup I was soooo excited when I saw they were doing a show at the Town Ballroom! No way in hell would I miss this show! :metal First Dream Theater show! Where are you coming from?
-
If it was a little closer to me, I'd definitely go. But it's about a 5-6 hour drive, so no go.

I'll be driving from Orchard Park, so it's only a 30-minute drive for me
EDIT: And this will be my second DT concert
-
Lucky youu! Its only about an hour and a half drive for me so its not too bad! Took off work Monday and Tuesday for it :hat Can't fucking wait to :metal

BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO BAR NONE.
I was in the front row and I did a fist-bump with JP, MP, and I high-fived JLB. :metal
I was about 7 feet away from them and it was incredible! The opening band (ZO2) played "Tom Sawyer" with Portnoy on the drums and it was sick. :tup
Definitely one of the best days ever for me.

What time did DT start and end?

What time did DT start and end?
They began at 9:15 and ended (encore included) around 11:40ish.
-
Does anyone know the music that were playing after the opening act and before DT came on.
-
Can you describe it?
I remember they were playing Marc Papeghin's French Horn Tribute to DT, and also Pipo & Elo acoustic covers of DT songs.
-
I wanted to make a strong mental note. But the acoustic cover might be it. I think the french horn thing was right before they went on. I thought I heard an accordian at some point in that period. I also thought there was some piano, but it was noisy and didn't realize I liked it till it was too late.

There were 2 acoustic songs with a female singer, one was As I Am and the other was Pull Me Under. The other ones with horns and violins (or whatever.. I don't know) sounded like parts of Octavarium and some parts from Metropolis 2. Hope that helps...
The show was indeed fantastic, Jordan (with his synth ax) dueling with JP was pretty hilarious. They did more than just play their music, they put on a hell of a show, the best entertainment! :metal I'm so excited to see them again, fortunately I only need to wait until Sunday.
