-
I'll be there with my son ( its his second DT show)
-
c'mon people :metal
I know you're out there
-
bamp
-
I'm going but I don't think I can do the meetup
-
I am gonna go but no meetup. I would love to meet all of you in between sets.
-
Considering a meetup hasn't even been decided yet... :\
Anyway, Doing it off the premises probably won't work, but who's up for meeting in the parking lot prior? I know Nick is gonna tailgate beforehand (unless that's changed), so we might be able to meet with him?
-
Yeah, it'll be Amanda, myself, and now an additional friend (Jeff from the show).
-
Oh cool Jeff's going. Would you mind if I stopped by your car? :neverusethis:
-
It'll be Amanda's car, but of course all will be welcome.
-
How about in between sets?
-
It's iffy. I wouldn't mind, but if you could find us I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. Although my dad might be all "why is this 15 year old talking to you?" :P
-
Just say, "Hell if I know. He just came up to me and started talking. You raised me better than to yell at him and push him away and walk off."
-
How about in between sets?
The only place I'll be between sets is at the bathrooms or merch booths.
-
the bathroom it is! we'll all meet after DT's set in the men's room
-

Amanda will be there too :neverusethis:
-

Merch booths then? I want to meet you dude. I can't go knocking on your door without Sarah being there as a human fail shield and we haven't seem to be in the same place at the same time since Rookies WHERE YOU FUCKIN NOTICED ME AND DIDNT DO ANYTHING!?!?!? So, IM it is...
-
i'll be there :metal :hefdaddy :corn :tup
-
My girlfriend and i will be going.. can we tailgate and BBQ please?
-
Absolutely. :D
As of now I plan to get to the venue around 3pm.
-
Mike Portnoy has been saying that they usually start playing between 7 and 725, so that should give people plenty of time to get to Amanda/Nick :P
Is there anyone else going?
-
DAMMIT!!! I WANT TO MEET PEOPLE BUT I CANT TAILGATE!!!!!
-
Why not?
-
I'm coming with my step dad who doesn't even want to go, let alone wait for me while I chill with my weird internet friends.
-
My dad doesn't want to hang out with these guys either
So I'm gonna stop by for ten or so minutes, say my hellos, take a picture or two, then head into the stadium. You don't have to stay for hours :P
-
I doubt I will even be there until 6:45. DT gets on at 7:25. They play for 53 minutes and the time is now 8:18. IM gets 2 hours and the show doesn't end until 10 of 11 so that means they get on at 8: 50. So you think 8:20 to 8:45, eh?
-
maybe. I might have to take a trip to the mens room, but we'll see. I'll have definitely got all the merch i wanted by then
-
:)
DAMMIT NICK!!!!!!!
-
i can be there by 3pm :O
-
awesome. you've been added to the rollcall :metal
-
So everyone can spot us, here is Amanda and I, two on the right.

-

-
We'll be there, but not sure about a meetup. It depends on how the hotel goes. We're going to check in and stuff before we go to the show.

Does the phone number you gave us last year for the Philly show still work? because i have that, and it'll make finding you in the parking lot WAY easier than just looking around for you :P
-
Yup, that's still good.
-
Dammitnick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DammitPLM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'll be there!
Nick, my husband and I were right next to you in line at the Transatlantic show. :)
-
Philly or NYC?
-
Im going to guess Nyc cuz we were inline with the Philly people all day and We would have know by then if they were inline with us...lol or she would have remember Tushar
-
Yup, that's still good.
Alright that'll make things a lot easier :lol
-
I'll be there with my girlfriend. I likely won't make it to the parking lot, though. I'm not big on the whole tailgating thing.
-
Well I live only a few miles from PNC, but I may be drunk before I even get to the parking lot. I plan on being sober to enjoy the concert experience up close Monday night and just having a great time on the lawn for Sunday.
-
Philly or NYC?
Philly.
-
lol and I am wrong
-
I'm now up to Amanda, myself, and 2 friends for this show. We're still planning to arrive between 3 and 3:30. We'll put some burgers and dogs on around 6 I think.
-
I'll be there with my son...not sure exactly what time we will be arriving...still debating if I'm going to the Portnoy signing in Edison
-
I mean, if you've never met him I'm sure it would be cool, but with any organized meet and greet just realize you're going to probably get about 30 seconds to talk to him.
-
The last time I was at the PNC in Holmdel (for Maiden), we ended up having to park about a mile away. It was like a massive migration of people walking to and from this jabumblefeck parking lot that they had us in. Of course it really sucked after the show.
We live an hour and a half from the PNC and have to work the next day, so we plan to bolt during the encore. Can anyone recommend a reasonable time to get there that will allow us to park close to the venue so we can get out quickly?
I'm thinking we should have sprung for the VIP parking passes.
-
Looks like Live Nation / Ticketbastard released more tickets for the Holmdel show. It really ticks me off how they withhold tickets. We ended up with two sets of tickets because the first ones were crap, and then they released more weeks later. We finally sold the first set but ended up taking $110 loss. If they had just released all of the tickets at once we probably would have gotten good seats to begin with.
Anyway, my husband and I will be in section 102, row P. I'll be wearing a DT shirt and he'll be wearing Maiden. I'll be screaming like a mad woman annoying the hell out any Maiden fans behind me who thought they would get to watch DT sitting down. :metal
-
EDIT: was looking at the wrong page lawl
-
Here's the deal, during the break in sets, I'll be infront of the section 202 sign-ish thing. The one that says 202 in white on the concrete. If anyone wants to talk, cool, if not, you all suck. :)
-
I'll be there with my son...not sure exactly what time we will be arriving...still debating if I'm going to the Portnoy signing in Edison
goddammit I wish I could go to that
-
2 hours until I head out the door. :D
-
So is there a main parking lot right outside the venue and a separate parking lot a mile away?
-
More like a quarter mile, but yes. As long as you get there before 5 I'd say you will probably get in the main lot.
-
yeah were gunna skip the portnoy meeting thing at the sam ash. i thought it was sooner then it is. but I WANT TO HANG OUT WITH YOU GUYS ;_;
-
Hanging out with Nick > 30 seconds with Portnoy. :coolio
-
Hanging out with Nick > 30 seconds with Portnoy. :coolio
lolwut?
Oh are you bringing any recording equipment Nick?
-
Yes, but after that first line you won't be getting a recording. :p
-
Oh that's cold :neverusethis:
I'm brining my camera because I'm fairly certain that nobody is going to give a shit there. Can anyone confirm?
-
I think you'll be fine there, but I find it best to just check with the entry guys before you try and enter to see if you can bring it in freely, or if you have to sneak it in.
-
Ok. You know, I noticed that the larger venues don't really check you coming in.
At the Trocadero, I'm frisked EVERY time. But they don't care about cameras at all, so I don't have to sneak them in. It's iffier at the Tower, because even though they don't pat you down, they still walk around the theater checking for cameras. I think a venue as large as PNC/Susquehanna wouldn't have the manpower to confiscate cameras like that
I'm taking it anyway though. More than anything, I really really want pictures of the Rush show next week
-
EDIT: nevermind.. now i remember getting yelled at and threated the last DT show i was at at PNC lawl
-
General Rules
The PNC Bank Arts Center enforces the law prohibiting underage consumption of alcohol anywhere on site. Violators will be prosecuted.
NO cameras, recording equipment, radios, TVs or unauthorized electronic equipment. NO alcoholic beverages, smoking, bottles, cans, coolers, weapons.
NO Laser Pointers. One factory sealed bottle of water per person.
from the PNC arts center
-
brutal... what ever haha
-
Damn that's over the top
Personally, i think that as long as nobody is doing any video recording they should allow cameras in.
I mean, are you gonna take away everybody's cell phone too? Almost every cell phone these days has a camera in it.
-

The personally will tell you to use your camera phone as they realize its unenforceable to take your phone away
-
Heading out now. See y'all there :metal
-
At vietnam era educational center until lot opens at 4:30.
-
Near box office with scrub.
-
DT kicked all sorts of ass tonight.
-
Did they play Pull Me Under/Metropolis ?
-
just pull me under.
I was NOT expecting home. At all.
Great to see nick/amanda/bill/cole. Ill get you next time, matt :P
-
It was cool meeting all of you. Oh, and Nick...he did tell you I was on my way (I was also on the road again!!!!!!!!!!)
-
Great seeing Scrub, PLM, wkiml, 2timer, and numbers at the show. Amazing show but I'm so freaking knackered and now I have to go to sleep, get up, go to school, leave from there for NYC, and then get home late again and go to school the next day. Going to be brutal.
-
just pull me under.

Great to see nick/amanda/bill/cole. Ill get you next time, matt :P
xD when did you meet up with everyone? we were there till a few songs into iron maiden
-
pretty good show I just got home like 3 hours ago. The ride home sucked serious ass and balls. Stuck in traffic at the George Washington bridge for literally 4 hours, got home at 6:30 but all is well!
-

Well I met up with Amanda, Nick and Bill out front before the doors opened, but you had already gotten in line
-
I actually looked for Nick and you guys, but gave up when I saw how long the line was getting.
Great show. Dream Theater sounded amazing. Iron Maiden sounded pretty good, but still put on a hell of a show.
-
Can someone post an accurate setlist for Maiden?
Setlist.fm is REALLY wrong, I think...
-

Setlist.fm is REALLY wrong, I think...
It looks right to me.
-
oh ok now it does
I checked yesterday and it was like, really wrong. It must have been amended while I was sleeping
-
James was in God mode.
-
James was in God mode.
Indeed! They all were! :hefdaddy
And is it me or was that theee heaviest version of Pull Me Under ever??? The main riff after the last chorus was so freaking heavy and crunchy. :metal
-
I have no idea, since it was my first time seeing the song live. However, James destroyed Home. In a good way.
Too bad the sound was so terrible for both bands. Mud, mud mud.
-

My husband and I said the same thing. That venue has terrible acoustics for metal... then again I think most outdoor venues do. But Holmdel does seem to be much worse than Camden. I also think they had it cranked up a bit too much. You couldn't hear any separation or intricacies at all and that's really a shame because the uninitiated didn't get the full DT experience.
-
Maiden are always a little bit on the muddy side, but there was definitely a serious drop in quality in sound at Holmdell, compared to when I saw Somewhere Back in Time in Camden. As far as DT goes, I'm guessing most initiated couldn't really hear what was going on, but the crowd's reaction was pretty good.
If anything, DT seemed to go on a little bit too long for the uninitiated. Things were great during As I Am, ARoP, and Home, but you could tell they were wearing on a lot of the crowd by the time Constant Motion hit (hell, they were wearing on me at that point, too ;D).
Thankfully, Pull Me Under seemed to really get everyone hyped up.
And, I was wearing a Maiden shirt. I didn't think much of it at the time, but apparently Mike isn't big on that!
-
As far as the sound goes, I was a little agitated that Bruce wasn't loud enough. There were times that he was completely drowned by the guitars. I don't know whether that's a soundboard issue or an acoustics issue, but it was annoying in some places
-
Bruce always seems to be a little buried, or at least he has been the 3 times or so I've seen them. Honestly, as much as I love Bruce, it's kinda better that way. I can see how it'd be annoying, but Bruce doesn't really sing the verses of a lot of songs so greatly anymore. At least he hits all the important notes, and they're completely audible. Also, where were you sitting?
-
Section 304, far left.
Visually, the seats were fantastic. If you're in the amphitheater I don't think there's a bad seat.
-
Yeah, I was around the same area, on the right. I was wondering if maybe things sounded better closer up.
-
yeah that was my first time seeing home and PMU live.. absolutly :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal
tho i was kinda waiting for the WHO WANTS TO CUM part from portnoy :rollin
-
Yeah, I was around the same area, on the right. I was wondering if maybe things sounded better closer up.
I was 8th row dead center and DT sounded fine...during Maiden Bruce's vocals dropped out quite a bit
-
i was fairly close and the sound was terrible for both bands, especially IM, Bruce didnt sound right at all. I had wayyy to much ringing in my ears when i got home.
-
I thought they did an okay job on DT's sound except for JR could have been a little louder, but, but yeah, the whole thing probably could have come down a bit. The soundguys seemed like they just wanted to crank the guitars up for both bands.
If they would have knocked them down a little, Bruce would have sounded much, much better, because I thought he did a hell of a good job. I did think he would mention DT at some point, but I didn't hear it if he did. To me he's a bit hard to understand sometimes. Overall I was pretty happy with it. Maiden had an awesome looking stage, too.
-
I haven't heard or read much in other threads, but how did the Maiden fans react to DT?
The one concert I heard about, a few found them boring and that they made too long of songs
-
At the two concerts I went to DT got *really* strong response from the crowd throughout the set.
-
I thought so too. MP didn't. Birch pointed out his twitter to me after the show:
I dunno...the NJ crowd did NOT feel like DT "hometurf" 2nite...we need you guys to give DT a special, memorable homecoming 2morrow at MSG!!!
-

I think he was pumping the fans for Madison Square Garden. However, I have found MP to be a little annoying throughtout this opening act leg of the tour. Just my opinion
-
He did nothing and said nothing at the NJ show. ???
-
i guess he was still recovering from how hard he rocked worcester the night before! :metal
