I noticed that there wasn't a thread in honour of this great show, so here it is.
Everything about this show is great
Let me start with a great quote by Roy:
People, What a bunch of bastards!

I hope the new season is more like the older seasons. But yes, *appreciates*

Hello, IT. have you tried turning it off and then ON?

"An ill wind is blowing. Last night I was stirred from my slumber by a crow calling three times. Caw... caw... well you know what a crow sounds like. Passing to my window, I trod on a piece of lego. Oh, it went right in the heel. Turning on my television set, I noticed the reception wasn't great. Not terrible, just not great. Hear me well, no good can come of your trip to the theatre tonight, no good at all. And if you ask me...

Just announced yesterday, The IT Crowd has been picked up for a fifth series! And the fourth series begins next month. Good time to enjoy the IT Crowd.
I do not know of this show. Tell me more.
Basically, it's set in an IT department in the basement of a large and successful business - featuring a lazy Irishman, an electronics genius who knows nothing about the way the world works, and a head of department who's fairly savvy but knows less than nothing about computers. It's constantly played for laughs, and it's very sharply written. Live studio audience, very silly but, bizarrely, very acute. Half an hour of good belly-laughs.

Cool. My wife is actually in IT, so hopefully she will find this amusing.

Awesome :hat
In celebration, I will watch some of the first season now :yarr
-
I wonder how those of us without British broadcasting will watch the new season. I found out about the show just after the third season ended, and it was on Netflix.
-
Use a proxy to get you a British IP address and watch it on the Channel 4 website.
-
Or just download them.
-
It also includes one of Matt Berry's best roles since Snuff Box. :hat
-
mizzl showed me on his computer and he put it on a usb so i could watch it at home
I suggest that you download it

IT'S A SEASON NOT A SERIES JEEZ
-
Is there a difference?
-
A series is the show itself, a season is the set of episodes that run together. Damn crazy brit words.
-
Oh, I've always used the two terms interchangeably.
-
What a n00b
Is there any exact dates for when the next season starts?
-
It's a series. A programme is called a programme. Or a program. Whichever. A season is a period of time during which bears sometimes sleep, and the approximate duration of a single US series.

For all you Iains without Moss avatars; The first episode of season 4 was aired last week. A second episode will be aired in 2 days.
-
I was a bit sceptical going into Season 4 as I thought Season 3 was easily the weakest thus far, but I was pleasantly surprised as it was one of the best IT Crowd episodes I can remember. My favourite is still the theatre one though.
-
Yes, season 3 wasn't all that great (compared to the other two seasons) but season 4 has start off very well.
-
Season 3, Episode 3, "Tramps Like Us" is the greatest thing I've ever seen in the history of television. When Moss comes out of his concussion and the Windows start up theme plays, I literally cried out of laughter. :rollin
-
That bit is so funny :lol
-
Second episode of the new season aired today. I'm going to watch it as soon as I 'obtain' it.
-
I'll be watching it tomorrow on 4OD.
-
This show is epic.
That is all.
-
I love all the Moss avatars. :lol
-
Favourite moment in the last episode was Gyles Brandreth.
-
I hope it doesn't sound arrogant when I say: I am the greatest man in the world.
-
Alright, first two episodes have been watched. Really funny program.
-
I'm not a window cleaner!

I checked out this show, and while it's quite clever, I can't get past the laugh track.

I just learn to deal with them - blackadder has one too.

So you've never been able to watch any sitcom ever?
-
I checked out this show, and while it's quite clever, I can't get past the laugh track.
So you've never been able to watch any sitcom ever?
No, I say fair play to him. Most sitcoms I watch don't have a laugh track. Even the weirder ones. It's been deeply uncool for the best part of a decade now. The only recent sitcoms I can think of that have laugh tracks are crap family ones which air at about 6pm, and Graham Linehan's stuff.
To wit...
The Office, Extras, Spaced, Scrubs, The Mighty Boosh, Peep Show, The Inbetweeners, The League of Gentlemen (eventually), Malcolm in the Middle, Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc. etc. I can think of more sitcoms without laugh tracks than with. Laughs are more the territory of sketchcoms and panel shows.
-
Laugh tracks aside, this show is amazing. I love it.
-
I have watched the first episode of the 4th season and I'm loving it
-
I Think the 2nd episode of the 4th season is the funniest in the series.
-
I checked out this show, and while it's quite clever, I can't get past the laugh track.
So you've never been able to watch any sitcom ever?
I forgive the older sitcoms of the 70s through the early 2000s (many of my favorite older sitcoms have laugh tracks) because having a laugh track was just what you did back then... there was no perceived alternative. Now that we have hilarious shows that have demonstrated that they are not necessary anymore, such as Arrested Development, The Office (both US and UK versions), Always Sunny in Philadelphia, 30 Rock, Scrubs, etc. etc., a laugh track in a newer show just feels cheap and distracting. I can't for the life of me understand why any newer show would choose to have one.
Now, the humor in certain newer sitcoms such as IT Crowd and Big Bang Theory is actually clever enough that I might be able to look past the laugh track, but I honestly would be enjoying the show in spite of it.
-
MAYBE YOU SHOULD CRY ABOUT IT, SEAWOLF

HA. I agree with all of your post except even the idea of the opinion that that show is remotely funny in any way.

Oh wow, each season is only 6 episodes long?
That's odd, but at least it's a lot less chance for filler.

Welcome to Great Britain! (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BritishBrevity)
Our comedies are 6-8 episodes long, our dramas 8-13 episodes, and if it lasts for more than 14 episodes a series it's probably witchcraft. Or a reality show. Preferably witchcraft.
-
Weirdos.
Lol at "Memory IS RAM!"
-
Yeah, I've found that British comedy is usually alot more conservative then American Comedy. Fawlty Towers, for example, only ran for 12 episodes and despite a huge following, the writers didn't want to continue with it incase they ran it into the ground.
FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATHEEEEEEEEEEEER
-
Almost done with season 2. Fantastic series. I find the girl kind of attractive, oddly enough.
-
Watched an episode thanks to this thread. It just happened to be the first one I stumbled on, so I can't tell you what season, etc. But it was the one where the head guy (I'm assuming president or CEO) finds his grandfather's service revolver in teh desk and accidentally shoots himself in the leg. Anyhow, after watching one episode, I have a couple of comments:
1. So, in reality, that isn't actually a picture of AcidRainLite in his avatar. Wow. And after all this time, I thought that's who that was. At least now the sudden usage of pictures of that guy as other people's avatars seems slightly less weird.
2. It really seemed lame in the beginning, but won me over by the end of it. I wouldn't consider it amazing, but definitely good. I'll likely be watching the other episodes soon.
-

Aye. I'd agree with that. It's a really smart and horrendously funny show disguised as a tacky one. Took me a few weeks to give it a shot when it was first advertised, I thought it looked fairly corny. But it's actually pretty uproariously funny.

Watch the first two seasons (they're the best, in my opinion). The episode you watched is from the third season.

I the the musical episode was right. She does kind of look like a man. :lol

Okay, saw a second episode last night and I have to say, this is a really funny show. There are a few full episodes on YouTube, but I'm sure they must exist somewhere organized by season, right? I want to start at the beginning and watch them all.
Oh, and the episode I saw last night was the one where Jen broke up with the guy she was dating because he "looked like a magician," and Moss and the Irish guy got hooked up with the bank robber guys when they were masquerading as "real men" with their football talk. Hilarious episode.
-
Netflix has the first 3 seasons.
-
I love the one where they go to the Gay musical. I believe it's called "The Work Outing".
-
"You brought me to a GAY musical called GAY and you laughed at every GAY reference."
"???"
:lol :lol
-
I love the one where they go to the Gay musical. I believe it's called "The Work Outing".
FAVOTITE EPISODE!!!
-
The gay musical and the dinner party episodes are my favourites.
-
I actually think the Countdown episode might be my fave ever IT Crowd episode. I've already watched it a second time
-
The Countdown thing was pretty silly, and I didn't care for it. The subplot with Roy being a window cleaner is fantastic though.
-

WHAT!!!???
It was awesome!
Although the window cleaner thing was great too, especially when he was on the thing going down the building
-
After seeing how much everyone on this board likes this show and watching some short clips on Youtube, I decided to watch the first episode. I loved it. I was laughing my balls off throughout the whole thing, my favorite parts being when the boss was like "You think this is a picture of my family, but it's actually a picture of the A Team," and when Moss offered to plug in Jen's phone and computer when she pretends to be using them. And the pictures of Moss and Roy with the prostitutes at the very end. :rollin
About to watch the 2nd episode now. I just wanted to thank the crazy Europeans here on DTF for introducing me to this show.
-
"I hope it doesn't sound arrogant when I say I AM THE GREATEST MAN IN THE WORLD!
-
I just saw the part where Moss woke up after fixing the boss's pants and the Windows startup theme plays as his eyes open.
I've never laughed so hard at a TV show before. :rollin :rollin :rollin

I have no fucking clue what it even is!

So I finally got around to watching the first two episodes of season 4.
How does this show stay so consistently awesome?
*Roy's still moping about being dumped by his girlfriend, and has photoshopped her out of a bunch of pictures*
Moss: It's like breaking up with Stalin.
:lol

The clips I watched on YouTube were hilarious, though.

It is a word, and the joke does fit!
-
I'm not a window cleaner! I work in IT!
Mac? No, I mostly work with windows.
-
I would have used my robotic arm for good!
-
I assume Cradle of Filth is popular enough in Britain that the average viewer would get the jokes when Richmond talks about them. I find it rather surprising, because if, say, Everybody Loves Raymond made a Slayer reference, I can't imagine the average American viewer would have ever even heard of Slayer.
-
Haha. Well, I've not met anyone who went "who the fuck's Cradle of Filth?" Then again, the first series of the IT Crowd aired when I was in late secondary school so I was surrounded by teenagers, who would probably have known about a wider sample of music than the majority of its audience.
Even if you haven't heard of them, the joke still makes sense. "Band with a manky name, probably metal." The kind of music they make is pretty obvious just from hearing the words "Cradle of Filth." You're immediately on board.
-
That actually makes tons of sense. Once again Rob, you have an answer for everything.
I love how Richmond makes up some BS genre to describe Cradle of Filth. "They're one of the best contemporary dark wave bands of all time." :lol
-
That actually makes tons of sense. Once again Rob, you have an answer for everything.
Yet never when it matters, tragically.
Little life lesson for you. If a police officer asks you what the fuck you are doing with those puppies, NEVER answer "just practicing."
-
It boggles my mind how many different ways that could be interpreted.
-
I love Richmond's crow speech
-
It crowed three times. Caw. Caw. Well, you know what a crow sounds like.
-
An ill wind is blowing. New one on now! Signed on during the break to say that everybody likes cat smell.
-
Can't wait to see it.
-
I was finally able to fix why I couldn't watch it. Squeee.
I spent basically all of today catching up. I watched the new ones first to see if I liked what I was seeing and then worked from the beginning. I'm caught up on everything but Season 3, which'll be cured either tonight or tomorrow.
I can't believe I never knew about this gem of a show 'til I stumbled on it here. So, thank you, DTF. :'D
-
You're welcome.
-
Aha! Lush. I might have to do that next time I've got a quiet day, that's gotta be an ace way to spend an hour or six. Plus I'm a fairly casual fan, so there are probably a few episodes in series 2 and 3 that I've never caught.
Did you catch today's? Really, really good, I thought. One of the funniest.
-
Ah! No I didn't. It must've updated while I was watching another season. I'll definitely be watching it before I go to sleep. :]
-
Missed tonights episode but I recorded it on Sky+ so I'll watch it tomorrow :hat

Damn europeans and being able to watch The IT Crowd on TV. I have to find it online to watch it.

I just finished watching the most recent episode (which was pretty subpar for The IT Crowd). Great, great series, so many good lines, so many funny scenes.
Zere iz nöone else avelaböl.
-
Would anyone be interested in an IT Crowd survivor? Given the show's popularity here on DTF I think it would be fun.
-
I'd definitely participate in it
-
Sure
-
I would have to rewatch the series, but that should be no problem.
I have a pretty good guess for which episode would win though. :lol
-
Which one?
That's why I thought it would be fun, I have no idea which ones are clear fan favorites. Are there any?
Anyway if I can get 6 or 7 dedicated voters besides myself I'll talk to Set and see if I can start one up.
-
I think, the gay musical episode is one that pretty much everyone loves.
-
....Really?
I mean, I like it, but I didn't think it was anywhere near the best episode.
-
I'd have to watch it all over again, but it's something I'd be delighted to do.
Of course I'll participate.

-
What season are you on now?
-
I'm finished. I've been spoiled by American TV, where there are 20 episodes to a season more or less
-
Oh nice.
-
Gay, a gay musical about gays.
-
In confusion about the avatars, I decided to watch one of the episodes freely available on youtube. Think it was first episode of series 3.
Was not impressed.
-
That's probably my least favourite episode :lol
-
I agree
The best episodes are The Work Outing and The Dinner Party
-
I also just watched "Are We Not Men?" which was a bit better. I don't know, just from the level of support it seems to have at DTF I expected something... more than average. I guess it's slightly better than a typical sitcom, but it still seems to me that the characters and plots are too one-note to get invested in, and the laugh track is grating.
-
Watch some stuff from the first and second seasons.
-
"I'm just enjoying this cup of tea! HAHAHAHA! Brilliant!"
-
Also, it's not a laugh track. It's a live studio audience.
-
There's no difference, ultimately.

I don't know, just from the level of support it seems to have at DTF I expected something... more than average. I guess it's slightly better than a typical sitcom, but it still seems to me that the characters and plots are too one-note to get invested in, and the laugh track is grating.
Do agree a bit... I really enjoy the IT Crowd, but at its core it's just a pretty good sitcom.
But - as said, I really enjoy it. So I don't really question it. Glad people dig it, it's a very cool show.
-
Interestingly enough, Richard Ayoade is going to direct an upcoming episode of Community, probably the best network comedy right now. My opinion of him might henceforth improve.
-
Interestingly enough, Richard Ayoade is going to direct an upcoming episode of Community.
Awesome. I'm really loving community, everything after the first half of season 1 is great.
-
Richard Ayoade is directing (has directed?) next week's episode of Community.
I guess the connection is that Joel McHale was cast as the lead for the American pilot of The IT Crowd.
-
I heard it's Pulp Fiction themed, so it has to be awesome.

Bin Laden and The IT Crowd: Anatomy of a Twitter hoax:
Rumours circulating on Twitter that Osama Bin Laden was a fan of The IT Crowd sitcom were an elaborate new media hoax. Here comedian Graham Linehan explains how he organised the ruse.
I spread a story on Twitter that in some of the videos seized from his compound during the Navy Seals raid, Osama Bin Laden was watching my sitcom The IT Crowd. I did it to illustrate the lightning speed at which a rumour can circulate and mutate on Twitter.
Only joking! I did it because I thought it would be funny, but it did circulate and mutate really quickly so maybe there's a good lesson for us here. I mean really, it's scary what Twitter can do. You can't get more offline than my mother, and even she said to my brother, the day after the story "broke", "Did you hear about your brother and Osama?"
So! It appears that one good way of starting a rumour is to pretend that the story is already circulating.
Tweet:"Does anyone have confirmation that Osama was watching The IT Crowd in these home movies? Amazing if true. Don't know how to feel" Glinner May 7, 2011 at 18:40
I certainly didn't have any plans to spin this one out, so I followed it up almost immediately with this punch line.
Tweet:"Obviously, a monster, but still. Was he all bad?" Glinner May 7, 2011 at 18:41
That was something I thought might be funny. If I started reconsidering my feelings towards a mass-murderer because he liked my show.
But no-one realised it was a joke. It didn't "land", or in layman's terms, it wasn't "funny". So I was still getting very concerned/curious responses. So I decided to ride around on my ridiculous imaginary pony a bit longer.
Tweet: "...seen in several videos watching and mouthing dialogue from the cult Channel 4 sitcom. Unbelievable." #itcrowd #OBL Glinner May 7, 2011 at 18:48
The magic of quote marks meant that this was met with nothing but genuine interest and a definite, hushed sense of "this is really big news".
Hashtags help to both spread the word and apply another level of spurious authority. Although again, I wasn't thinking in tactical terms.
I had a search running throughout all this, of course, and was quickly able to retweet a few quotes that made it feel as though the news was coming via several different sources, and not just me.
[Here follows a selection of tweets by people reacting to Linehan's ruse]
Tweet: "So, apparently OBL was a fan of The IT Crowd? @dalehernando + I were in an episode of The IT Crowd. OBL saw my face. Mixed emotions" tomadolph May 7, 2011 at 18:58
Tweet: "So Osama Bin Laden used to watch The IT Crowd, nice to know I have something in common with the guy who was the worlds most wanted man :L" bussey99 May 7, 2011 at 18:59
Tweet: "If you've never seen The IT Crowd, please don't let the fact that a mass-murdering terrorist leader watched it put you off. It's still great " Lennon_Scented May 7, 2011 at 19:26
Thanks, and apologies, to all the people I've quoted above. Know this, at least, you were not alone, not by a long chalk.
People were beginning to ask for evidence, so I decided to link to my source, something [science writer] Ben Goldacre always insists on.
Tweet: "Weirdly, reference has been removed. Security reasons? https://tpm.ly/kqmhdq RT @YC19916: can you send a link to this article?" Glinner May 7, 2011 at 19:29
Damn it! They removed the reference!
Tweet:"Completely bizarre TV fact of the day: Osama Bin Laden used to watch the IT Crowd" freesat_TV May 7, 2011 at 19:29
Ding! A brilliant tweet to receive and be able to retweet. Apologies to @free_sat, but the delicious word "fact" was more than I could have dreamed.
Tweet: "Osama Bin Laden was watching The IT Crowd when they got him apparently" GavRov May 7, 2011 at 19:29
Out of nowhere, the story had changed to his watching the show as the Seals stormed the compound.
I decided to try and get some sleep (different time zone...I was on holiday), hoping that the story might catch fire overnight. To help it along, I tried to make it sound like I was harried and upset.
Tweet: "Still totally shocked/confused about #OBL #itcrowd news. Phone ringing every 5 mins w another journo asking for quote. Signing off for now " Glinner May 7, 2011 at 20:03
The next morning, I started to get a little nervous... the thing could go on for at least another day, and I wanted to end it so I could stop thinking about it.
Tweet: "Was Osama an IT Crowd fan?: Rumours that sitcom was found in hideout" https://bit.ly/msthcS chortle May 8, 2011 at 9:33
Yeah, yeah, definitely time to end it. (By the way, Chortle seem to have removed the story, which is a shame. Why, guys? You were part of a fun experiment! Nothing to be ashamed of!)
I had to go out on a strong joke, because I didn't want to be accused of merely trolling my followers. So I thought about it for a while and decided to go out on the following scenario.
Tweet: "Have been sent a video file by Irish embassy in Washington of Bin Laden watching #itcrowd. Not allowed to upload. #OBL" Glinner May 8, 2011 at 9:55
Tweet:"Guy who worked for embassy very nice. Said 'You have no reason to feel upset. His liking show is no comment on your work'." #OBL Glinner May 8, 2011 at 9:59
The last few tweets don't really need commentary. Or at least they shouldn't.
Tweet:"Bin Laden sitting in front of TV with remote. My heart is in my mouth. Can't really see screen, which is frustrating." #OBL #itcrowd Glinner May 8, 2011 at 9:57
Tweet: "Music coming from the television very distorted (pirate copy?). Unrecognisable, almost" #OBL #itcrowd Glinner May 8, 2011 at 10:02
Tweet: "So weird. This isn't the #itcrowd theme. Do pirates put diff music on shows in middle east?" #OBL Glinner May 8, 2011 at 10:04
Tweet:"Good idea. RT: @terktz why don't you use Shazam to find out what music it is?" #OBL #itcrowd Glinner May 8, 2011 at 10:08
No such person as @terktz, by the way.
Tweet:"Shazam didn't work at first. Now has result as Theme From Big Bang Theory That's weird." #OBL #itcrowd Glinner May 8, 2011 at 10:10
I thought that was a strong enough gag to go out on.
Tweet:"Truth about Osama and The IT Crowd: ...it was actually Big Bang Theory he preferred" https://bit.ly/jvzVPv chortle May 8, 2011 at 19:22
No, no...
Tweet: @Glinner "the story was picked up and reported by the Dallas Evening News" veryjonesy May 8, 2011 at 11:10
This was like turning a cruise liner around.
Tweet:"Finally found a still of bin Laden watching the IT Crowd" https://cl.ly/6Zhr cc: @Glinner Mike_FTW May 8, 2011 at 18:15
I realised uneasily that the story might go on yet, and mutate even further.
But then again, maybe I wouldn't have to.
Tweet: "Still wrong, I'm afraid."https://yfrog.com/h8y8ypqj Glinner May 18, 2011 at 21:02
So there you go. Big Bang Theory. Ask them about it. Nothing to do with me.

Another wonderful creation of Graham Linehan :heart
Pretty sure there's not a thread on this brilliant show yet so let's start with some quotes/gifs!

There's a cult following for this show here on DTF. And for good reason; it's an amazing sitcom. So many quotable moments, so many funny bits. I can't wait for Series 5! It's a shame it'll be the last one, though.

Coffin Fodder is actually Track 9....heh.

I think the actual joke was that no one should notice that since no one should listen to CoF

So it's not ACTUALLY a cradle of filth?
Oh no that'd be horrible

Why do the good shows never go on as long as they need to?

God fucking dammit.
Why do the good shows never go on as long as they need to?
I assume the show needs to get a fifth series in order to answer the fans' questions about the show's deep mythology?
-
No. I just need more of what makes the show awesome. Geek humor and Moss.
-
I just found out.
FUCK THIS NOISE >:(

We're nothing but drudgeons to them
Yes. If there WERE such a thing as a drudgeon, that's what we'd be

Some shows end before they get old and boring. [ IT Crowd ]
Some shows use the same jokes from the first episode for five series [ Little Britain ]
-
This news makes me incredibly sad.
-
Just found this show on Netflix. It's awesome. Almost like a British Big Bang Theory.
-
How insulting. Please don't compare The IT Crowd to that thing. :lol
It's been a while since I rewatched it, but I was thinking about it. The internet episode is a classic, and the disabled one is a favourite.
-
I seriously don't get the hate for BBT. I love that show.

Loved this. Huge King geek, so this was what was needed after The Dark Tower letdown (and The Mist series).

Well I fucked that up!
I knew there was a Stephen King IT thread somewhere, just saw the 'IT' and typed. Oh well guess I should go the King thread and say I'm a huge Ayoade geek!
Oh and good to see you back mate.
-
Cheers ! I f---ing love The IT Crowd. It's one of the funniest shows ever. The Work Outing episode is absolute comedy gold.
I showed it to my brother and he was in absolute stitches.
-
I seriously don't get the hate for BBT. I love that show.
Because it's literally a laugh track over people talking ? People's main defence for it seems to be " it makes science jokes " when any time i've happened to see it -
it's just been bog standard sitcom dialogue. For actual jokes about science in a show that's actually funny - watch Futurama.
Anyway - I was just thinking about The IT Crowd and how the final episode didn't end satisfyingly at all.
Everyone thought Jen hated women so they made them pepper sprays - which all the women then sprayed in their own eyes ?
And then that plot thread just stopped dead ? No repercussions ?
Then Matt Berry needs to lay low so he says The IT team can "take care of upstairs" - ostensibly take over the company ? What ?
-
Katherine Parkinson was delightfully awesome in the latest series of taskmaster.
-
I gave it a shot... I didn't like it.
It's not that I don't like it at all, it's more that it doesn't win me over... you know when they suggest you a band and there's some things you like and you're "yeah, this is good, I can't deny the good musicianship and I understand why people are fans of this, but it doesn't grab me"...? same with me with The IT Crowd.
I did have some legit laughs here and there, but all in all I just use it as filler when I have 20 minutes spare and there's nothing else to watch. From such a cult I expected way more but I guess we can't all like the same things in the same way.
-
It's one of those shows which exactly matches my sense of humour. NOT a traditional sitcom.
Too bad Graham Linehan isn't the nicest person IRL.
I mentioned on twitter that I have a faith and he said that teaching kids that there's a God is the same level of child abuse as paedophilia.
It's like woah. And he hates LGBT people so much that twitter had to delete his account. Sigh.
Father Ted and The IT Crowd will always be gold though.
-
I absolutely love both IT Crowd and BBT.
One of the criticisms of BBT I’ve heard is that “just mentioning a cultural reference is not a joke”
I disagree with that statement completely. Timing is everything. I love MST3K too, and MUCH of their humor revolves around dropping a cultural reference at a humorously timed moment.
I will give you that it might end up *dated*...but dropping cultural references can absolutely be a very valid form of humor.
-
As much a I love the IT Crowd. Spaced is still the best Geek Comedy.
-
As much a I love the IT Crowd. Spaced is still the best Geek Comedy.
100% I rewatched it all again recently and was still dying laughing. A third series could have ruined it I think.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is another good one.
-
I eventually finished it all. Funny just enough to keep watching it as a "filler" show, when I have nothing else to watch and time is short, but never really conquering me. Especially the last couple of seasons were less IT-oriented and more general comedy.
