So yea, started one a week or so ago. Since then I've writtne/recorded 10 songs. I don't really listen to industrial, so I dunno how this compares, but it's the best title I could come up with. As of now all the songs are instrumental till I find a vocalist.
I created a myspace for it just today and uploaded the first song I wrote. It's a 2 minute instrumental, basically 1 drum beat and 1 riff used in different ways. Take a listen, maybe tell me what you think. The other songs are a bit more fleshed out, this was my first experiment with the genre. Oh yea, the project is called Of Two Minds.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I really liked it! Don't really have any suggestions or any thing, it sounded great.

That was really good. I'm really looking forward to hearing more from you. ;D

Thanks guys. As I said I don't listen to industrial at all. So....is this industrial music? How does it compare to the general genre?
-
I'd certainly call it industrial. Upon another listen, something I'd recommend is either turning up the gain/distortion on the guitar or doing something to make it a little 'noisier' - I think it would contrast really well with the piano. A lot of industrial music (at least it sounds like it to me) layers distorted synth voices over the guitars, to give a more noisy electronic feel, and I think that would work really well for this song.
-
Well I don't want to play completely into the genre. I'm just kind of taking the aspects of whatever it is that sound good to me and using them. I know NiN have that overly distorted sound, but then I'd just be a NiN rip off. But other songs have some more "sound" to them, some are rockish and some are more melodic and pretty, maybe even new age. I dunno. Once I find a singer I'll do more.
Also, if you like it, feel free to add it on myspace. Would make me feel loved. :-*

I would, but I don't have a myspace. :-X

I know no one is reading this, but bump anyway cause I put up a new song.
It's called "The Slow Brood". It's not so much a song, but a musical expression of anger. It's simple, lacking melody or anything else. I dunno, it's just supposed to be very angry. Listen to it, let me know what you think.

Really? Nothing?

I like it a lot dude. o/

Hey there Adami,
What sort of recording equipment and samples do you use? It sounds great, and it's something that I want to go for as well.
Actually, I don't know if it's really industrial I'm going for. These are the inspirations:

Okay, so that last one is not industrial, I think.
Keep going at it.

I use Pro Tools HD3. I use no samples. Everything is either my Yamaha Motiff 6 keyboard, my guitars plugged directly into my Line 6 Pod, or my Roland electronic drum kit. Everything is audio, no midi or anything.
Thanks for the kind words people, it would even MORE helpful if some of you would add the myspace. Thaaanks.

I really like what you've done with The Slow Brood, although I'd say your work is a tad more electronic than most industrial. Not a bad thing, of course. It sort of reminded me of this band called Celldweller, although they're much more on the electronic side.

Either way, I'm a fan. :tup

Sounds amazing, Adami. I'll add you to myspace whenever I get the chance to do so :heart
