Simply put, easily the best sitcom of the last decade and my favorite of all time. Any other fans here?
I was reading an amazing topic on it's IMDB page about coming up with AD related band names. Hours of fun ;D
So let's discuss.

One of the most well written/executed comedic sit comes. If not the best.

I think fans of the Office would like a word with you
-
Hey, I love The Office too. Don't get me wrong. But AD hits more home because of the dysfunctional family element. Although I just started my first Office job, so perhaps that will come more into play.
-
awesome show!
-
Next to Twin Peaks and Freaks and Geeks, I think I've watched this show in its entirety more then any other.
I just re-watched it all with a friend and was struck at how amazing it is that it actually gets funnier every time.
I really hope they can get the movie planned and on track before everyone gets too old.
-
Awesome show.
-
-waits for volk to come in and say how terrible and boring it is-
-
Absolutely brilliant show in every way. *appreciates*
-
One of my favorite shows ever.
-
Absolutely fantastic show. What a shame that it got pulled off.
-
"We don't like begging, but PLEASE tell your friends about this show".

This!
I'm on an Arrested development binge at the moment. It absolutely gets funnier every time you watch it.
-
THE show of the decade, and proof that the people making decisions at Fox are infact headless chickens because they clearly lack brains of any sort.
-
This is funny because it's my second-favourite sitcom of all time and I barely ever watch it anymore! It got pulled off Global some time ago.
-
I love this show, I should revisit it this summer.

This.

George Michael: "Hey, has Aunt Lindsay ever been pregnant besides Maeby?"
Gob, nonchalantly as he passes by: "Oh yeah, plenty of times."
That and the dead bird in the freezer crack me up just thinking about it. :lol :lol

yep.

I need something that screams 'Daddy likes leather'.
-
"You mean something that says... leather daddy?"
-
I've always been a Buster guy.
-
Gob is my favorite.
-
the single greatest TV comedy in my lifetime.

IT AIN'T EASY BEIN' WHIIIIIIIITE

Franklin is my favorite african american recording artist.
:heart Job not missing a beat and giving Franklin a british accent. "You've ruined the act Job" :lol
-
My name is judge.
-
Just to clarify it is G.O.B. (George Oscar Bluth) which is a running gag when people pronounce it phontetically as Gob ;D
My most recent favorite joke is Gob's delivery of the line "Then maybe I should be getting a family discount, too" followed by the most awesome "oh my God" self-disgust face in all of history (this is in reference to a prostitute who he just found out may be his sister) :lol
So I decided my AR band name would be "Lucille 2".
-
"Hey Michael, look who's riding the hog in the rear view mirror!"
"GEORGE MICHAEL!"

I'm a few episodes into the third season (Netflix FTW), and I don't want it to end. :(

The first half of the third season was a mixed bag for me. Tobias with the hair plugs was fantastic, but the subplot with Rita didn't work for me at all. The second half of the third season was world class.
-
Agreed...even though I find myself singing the "Mr. F" jingle quite often :P
-
Annyong.
-
oh I think the Rita bit is absolutely brilliant. Damn do I miss that show.
-
Annyong.
That was absolutely my favorite bit of the entire show. I still do that to people. And when combined with other characters tendencies to state their own name (STEVE HOLT!), even more brilliant.
I'm not sure which is funnier. The look of surprise when he actually told them his name, or the fact that he never seemed to care that they never bothered to ask.
-
I've only just finished the first season. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows (it's already toppled It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as my favorite comedy).
Speaking of which, I'm seeing "Horrible Bosses" just for Charlie Day and Jason Bateman.

Oh, my god, prepare yourself. Season 2 of Arrested Development may be one of my favorite seasons of any TV show, ever.

As far as I'm concerned it's as close to a perfect season any show (or at least any comedy) gets.
-
Wow, I preferred the first season to the second. Pier Pressure. Take your daughter to work day. The Maggy Lizer episodes. "SAY GOODBYE TO THESE, MICHAEL!"

:hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy @ this show.

BEADS!
-
Fuck it, gonna make this my nightly downtime through all the seasons.
-
Watching it for the fourth time now and it's still brilliant.
-
Just finished the series, holy mother of god the ending with Annyong was fucking priceless. :lol
-
What's crazy is how they forecasted that a season and a half in advance. Seriously, watch Afternoon Delight again.

I need to check that one out. I liked the foreshadow from a few episodes earlier about the banana stand.
-
I picked up all three seasons from a JB Hi-Fi (Australia's Best Buy, but better from what I've read) for 20 bucks each and I'm working my way through them now. I'd always been apprehensive to watch them on TV because of ads etc, and I'm not 2/3 the way through the first season. Holy mother of god, I can't count the number of times I've laughed my ass off...everything about the show is brilliant; the characters, the plotlines, the deadpan-ness; brilliant.
"And thats why you don't teach your son a lesson" :rollin

Yeah, like I said earlier, I think the whole Annyong thing was their greatest gag of the gazillions they threw out. The fact that he was aware the whole time that they never even knew his name kills me.
I'm watching the very end now. Will probably finish tomorrow night.
One thing I do like is reading the wikiP entry for the episodes afterward to catch some of the gags I missed. I just wrapped up Family Ties, and the irony of GOB, while working as a pimp, referring to Nellie's turning illusions went right by me both times.

It's one of their more hidden gags, but when you see it... Bricks. You will shit them.

Anyone watch Modern Family? It has an Arrested Development vibe big time (similar humor, quasi-documentary), and, imo, is the most funny sitcom since then.

No, not really.

No, you don't really watch it, huh. That's too bad.
-
Oh, my god, prepare yourself. Season 2 of Arrested Development may be one of my favorite seasons of any TV show, ever.
"You know, first of all, we are doing this for her, okay? Because neither one of us wants to get divorced. And secondably, I know you're the big marriage expert - oh, I'm sorry, I forgot - your wife is dead!"
Tell me a funnier thing has ever happened. I dare you.
-
As awesome as Will Arnett is, I feel bad for him because GOB is both the defining character and the pinnacle of his career. Easily my favorite character on the show.

See, ReaP, there you go again, speaking absolute undeniable truths. Does it ever get old?
-
So I just noticed that some of the episodes have commentary tracks that appear to be the entire cast. Anybody ever checked those out?
-
Yeah, the commentaries are fun stuff. Nothing earth-shattering as far as insight, but are a good listen.
-
I just watched season 2 episode 4 and it was absolutely hilarious. The Charlie Brown bits with the music were hysterical.
-
when bad things happen I sometimes slouch my shoulders and walk away with my head down while humming the Charlie Brown music :lol
-

I've been doing this before every episode. It's truly amazing how many hidden nuggets and huge foreshadowing this show does.
-
Such a good show.
The only problem with it is that, whenever I pop in a DVD to watch one episode, it leads to 'just one more', and then 'well, just one more', and before I know it, I've re-watched the entire series again.
-
Absolutely love this show :heart Tobias and Gob are amazing
-
I just blue myself.
-
"What is this feeling I'm having?"
"It's called love, Gob."
"Please Michael, I know what an erection feels like. This is like my heart is hard."
