Title: Post-Ironic Beardcore
Post by: Arcaeus on April 28, 2010, 04:18:07 AM: Any fans of this genre on the board? I would assume so, since many of you pride yourselves over your expansive music tastes (pretentious imo). I haven't dug deep into the discographies of pioneers of the genre, such as ZZ Top, but I love more modern beardcore bands such as Protest The Hero and Mastodon; they're intense.

Silverstein is pretty terrible though. I don't know how anyone could take them seriously.

I'd say yes. Maybe not as beardy as ZZ Top and not as corey as Protest The Hero, but I think they could fit into the genre and no one would complain.

And they actually have "beard" in their name. That's pretty damn beardcore.

Because I added them. 4 of the 5 members have bitchin' beards. That's 80%, compared even with founders ZZ Top, who's drummer could only grow a mustache, that's 66% beard. Therefore, Dream Theater is beardcore. Whether they are true beardcore, progressive beardcore, beard prog, or beargressivecore, is up for someone else to figure out.

If Christopher Lee's in it, I want Rabindranath Tagore and Osho to join (Even if they're both dead). They're the intellectual factor that made Beardcore what it is today.
