No this is not an April fools. I assume there are a bunch of references on this forum that I don't get.
-
Plus one on that.

You've seen Avatar 70 times, but you haven't seen Star Wars once?

Isn't this an arrestable offence?

I know someone else like this too. But he's seen the Family guy episodes. So he still fails.
-
I find this hard to believe, especially with all the references that have found their way into pop culture...
Watch them now.
-
I have never seen them either

:'(

I haven't seen all parts of it either, but I get most of the references, actually (but not those who go far into detail of the movies).

This. I try to watch some of films every now and again but I just can't. I don't understand why people watching them in this day and age still like them. So cornball. A friend and I actually laughed out loud when Darth Vader said "I am your father".

Luke's response is even more pathetic.
But hey, what a classic scene. Completely flawless. Perfect cinema. Beyond criticism.

I don't think anyone has ever called that scene 'perfect cinema'.
-
I've seen them but they aren't that epic.

Don't worry, I'm sure Reapster will turn up soon to tell us about how we're both wrong.

Exaggeration for effect.
To an extent.
-
You know, even I have.
Except from episode six that I mostly slept through - it was a little too boring to watch at 01.00 after five other Star Wars movies. BUT STILL.
-
Me neither Chino, I have all six movies and I try so hard every now and then to start watching them but I get like 15 minutes in maximum and I'm so uninterested I actually start to stare at the ceiling and drift away.
But I keep trying, cause it's an important part of our pop culture, I still haven't seen the Family Guy parodies because I know they wouldn't be funny if I haven't watched Star Wars first.
I'll keep trying though, I trust one day I'll get there heh
-
This thread makes me so sad. Star Wars is amazing. My whole childhood consisted of me and my friend watching the movies, collecting the action figures, reading the books, playing the games.... I didn't know it was even possible that people could live that long without seeing it. :p
-
That was Back To The Future trilogy for me
-
I saw we shall ban them for the rest of the week. After that make them a pop quiz about Star Wars, if they don't pass the minimum score, chao.
Acidiainlte, Tri.iainad, Chiaino, Mettlol :bosk1:
-
I actually haven't seen all the original trilogy either. Well, okay, that's a lie. I have seen them, but it was a long time ago, and I don't remember. I get most of the references, though. I just never really saw what all the hype was about.
-

The original Star Wars trilogy, the Back to the Future trilogy, and the original Indiana Jones trilogy are an essential part of any child's development, if you ask me.
-
I used to skip school to watch all 3 back to back on VHS.
Get with teh times.
-
You must remedy this situation Chino. I don't think you'll be disappointed unless you just totally hate SciFi.
-
My friends and I were playing the nazi game (don't know the official name but we call it that because the nazis were playing it in Inglourious Basterds, where someone writes a name on a card and you put it on your forehead and have to guess who you are) and I made Tony a character from Star Wars. He figured out he was from a movie and asked about the genre and he was like "Is it science fiction" and our friend Matt said he wouldn't quite call it that, and Tony asked if it was "space fantasy" and Matt said yes, which gave Star wars away... still took him a while to figure out that he was Jar Jar though. I guess I don't blame him for exploring every other possible option first :rollin
-
Having only seen the first Star Wars once when I was a kid, and not liking it enough to ever bother watching it again or any of the sequels for that matter, I don't get most of the references here today, but I can appreciate the effort that went into it. :tup :tup
-
This is WRONG.
Just WRONG.
Let me guess; you haven't seen any Indiana Jones either?
-
Before posting in this thread, people should go and rectify the gaping hole in their completeness as a person.

This is one of the funniest things I've seen in ages. :rollin
And yeah, Chino is a disgrace.

What a horrible thing to do to someone. I hope he dumped you. Nay, I hope he banged someone close to you right infront of you and then gave you aids and THEN dumped you.

Hm. I went from being one of the more disliked people on the forum to being one of the most disliked characters in the world.
A step up!

:lol You can change it back now.

Nope, wearing it in pride.

Same here. I just watched the episodes 1, 2, and 3. 4, 5, and 6 are so old that they hurt my eyes.
Not a fan of old movies.

Don't be silly, Jar Jar can't get angry, he's too pathetic.

Huh?
Those films really don't seem that old compared to other films from the same time... the lack of CGI and the clever use of believable looking costumes, sets and models make the films seem far more real and material to me than the prequels, as well as many other modern films.
-

Oh God this is exactly how I feel about the originals. Its a wonder what real sets can do to make a movie look real. Dammit George Lucas...
-
Indeed, I mean look at LOTR... the effort that went into creating those real sets and the costumes etc really pays off. If Peter Jackson had just used blue screen and a CGI Helm's Deep, Minas Tirith etc like GL did with the prequels those films wouldn't be half as magical as they are.
-
Jackson at least used models for large scale shots. Lucas just went the 100% lazy way.

No, he'll be outraged the natives in the beginning of Raiders aren't Na'vi.

Well, I'd suggest watching Star Wars, cos even if you don't love them, they're not bad films overall, and then you can tick them off your list.
However, I wouldn't recommend Indiana Jones to my worst enemy.
