Cool interview! Did anyone else think it was a little weird that she was standing under some random bridge in the beginning?

I still love how JP loves the Adam02 videos.  Best part of the interview though was the excerpt of "I keep it around 2000 notes per second" followed by UAGM  :lol

Don't care, she was hot.

Exactly, it was a hot girl who was talking about how JP is one of the best guitarists alive. Who could want more?

Sure, she was probably reading a script and has no clue who JP really is, but whatever, they're all pink on the inside.

Cool little interview bit.

The woman was below the bridge because the background looked a little "rougher" for her more delicate look. The story was about a heavy metal guitarist. She was good looking, but since she doesn't quite have an "edgy" look, whoever booked the location went with an edgy location, instead.

Actually wish that had been longer than three minutes, it was going much better than most interviews!

The girl's location reminded me of the one JP had for the making of SC docu, lol.

I think its pretty funny JP has to look up videos of himself on youtube to remember how to play something  :lol Great interview, seems like such a nice guy!

Actually the clip after the "2000 notes per second" part was from Afterlife's solo.

Great interview!  Hilarious at the end with the dubbed over stuff...also really interesting that he looks up his own stuff on YouTube just to remember how to play it sometimes!  I guess it would get really overwhelming.

Misheard lyric videos are getting so lame. It's no longer "misheard lyrics". It's now, "let's see what random phrases we can akwardly make sound slightly like what is being said".

I thought, he being a Berkley musician and all, he could read Standard Notation which includes in which bar to play it etc.

They only teach you how to read music just before graduation.  JP never made it that far.  Everything before senior year is improv.

It's easier to youtube someone than it is to look up and find musical notation of your songs and sit down and study it.

Yea, they all dropped out before graduating. Dunno how far along they were though.

In the end, it doesn't matter. They are all insanely good musicians, degree or no.

WTF? Really? It's not like it's really easy to read music for the school to start teaching you at the end.

The more relevant fact is:  whether he can read standard notation or not, if he doesn't actually sit down and transcribe his songs (which he doesn't), there is nothing to read.

I thought he did eventually learn how to read standard notation. I remember reading an interview with him when An Evening with JR and JP was released, he stated something like it was easy to work with JR because he could read music.

But whether he knows how to read it or not, if he never transcribed any of his songs to begin with, there is literally nothing for him to read.

I know what you mean. But maybe they have people that transcribe their stuff, right? Metallica has done it, DT has done it. JR does it. Since they have people doing it for them, I thought that maybe they just took a glance at their stuff once in a while.

All I know is, if I had the choice between reading a chart of what someone else says I played, or watching film of me actually playing, I would choose the film.

No, they don't.  Jordan trascribes his own parts, but that's it.

Haven't you seen the video of the guys that transcribed BC&SL? They are with JP and JR discussing the outcome. I'm talking about those tab books, they have a copy, maybe they'll take a look. If they don't, that's cool. I just thought they did.

No, I haven't.  But even if someone on the outside put together a tab book, that is a far cry from the band putting together standard notation for their songs.
