I presume that it will be touring information, but I'm wondering if there's an outside chance that we'll get more recorded material. Maybe going in to write Raw Dog gave them inspiration to put more out. They haven't written and recorded a single song before with the explicit intent to only release that track. It would only be natural for them to continue forth once the creative juices are flowing. Maybe an EP? ;D
(I know this is unlikely, but I can hope...)

They're still an acquired taste to some of us. A lot of metalheads who like Rush like myself still may have trouble w/ the combo of Claudio's helium vocals and their lean toward poppiness. I still respect them and wanna get into them though.

Shouldn't be too hard for a Rush fan to accept helium vocals. :p
I think I tolerate Geddy a little better since it doesn't sound like he intentionally goes for the high voice but rather his natural speaking voice is already in that higher range. With Claudio it sounds like he's projecting a bit much. I'm not holding that against him it's just something I need to consciously look past because if I just relax and listen to them it does annoy me. Good music anyway though.

1. Bruce and Nicko are huge DT fans
2. Portnoy and co. love Maiden, and would likely drop previous plans to tour with them
3. Dream Theater have supported Maiden several times in the past

Funny thing, someone asked me on my Formspring (you can ask anonymous questions to people) last week "If DT and Maiden had a concert on the same night, which one would you go to?"... and now that might actually be happening, except I WILL see both of them!!

and apparently big news is on the horizon.
come on, MP's a workaholic. like he's just going to sit back and go "hey, we're taking a year off, just sit there and twiddle your fingers." sure, we're not going to get any more new material, or a live album, but i'm certain we're going to get something different. plus, this is the solo project year - JLB and JP are both working on new material, and i'd be staggered if Rudess didn't take the opportunity to write some neat new stuff. which, summed up, makes it even less predictable than a new studio album. lately they've been going "ALBUM, TOUR, LIVE ALBUM, PAUSE, ALBUM, TOUR, LIVE ALBUM, PAUSE." this is a bit different. which is interesting. vive la differance.

The person who mentioned it, Tabs, from the MP forum (who does the transcription books for DT) expressed interest and apparently mentioned it to the rest of the band, but there has been no more news about it. So I can hope they are getting their own game.

Perhaps Maiden is signing with Roadrunner for the band's new record, and DT is going out with them as openers and labelmates. Not sure if Maiden's record deal was up.

IRON MAIDEN are pleased to announce that their forthcoming new studio album will be called 'THE FINAL FRONTIER', and is expected be released late summer of this year.
The announcement comes with news of a North American Tour with Very Special Guests Dream Theater to open in Dallas, Texas, on 9th June and finish in Washington D.C. on 20th July, making it Maiden's most extensive North American tour in many years.

One funny part i can see from this is - usually opening bands get a lot smaller space onstage, one thing comes to mind, MP's drumkit taking up half of the space :rollin. But in reality im sure there playing big enough venues to have enough space.

We'll see. Nothing's for certain. I know Space Invader and Global Laziness will be going to Quebec if they stick around in Halifax for the Summer, and my girlfriend wants to go. It's just a matter of logistics.
