...but I just can't shake the feeling that somebody else has had the exact same idea already.

I like it. Sounds like something that could be in a Zelda game.

Thinking more about it, the closest thing I could think of was a passage of biaxident, or even the octavarium analog solo, but neither of that is that similar, so... :D

Sounds good, not like a rip-off. I don't remember hearing anything very close to this. Nice song. :D

Well, it's just a simple yamaha PSR E303 keyboard. Did you recognize it from the samples?

Sounds a little like Final Fantasy.  Sounds really good, you should definitely expand it to a full length song.
