Honestly VERY SURPRISED no NJ dates! :tdwn Will have to do Reading & Long Island shows
Wooo! This time they're in Charlotte so I don't have to travel :lol
two back-to-back shows in Atlanta, maybe for filming?

To make up for cancelling the 40th Anniversary show on the last leg. The first night will be Parasomnia and the second night will be the 40th Anniversary make up show.

That's a VERY "AGGRESSIVE" booking! :omg: Not sure how they expect to fill that place!
Looking forward to checking out the set list on September 6th and figuring out if I'm waiting for the European tour dates in 2026. ;D
Yes! Got a St. Louis date.....at a pretty killer venue!
Yep, yep, that venue in the St Louis area is great! I think the capacity is 3,000, so a bit more than the Pageant, and just a better overall sound and location.
Sep 10, 2025 - The BayCare Sound, Clearwater, FL
This looks like a new venue Ive never been to before and looks fantastic.
Long Beach? All right, well, at least, it's a theater venue that's not Youtube Theater or Peacock Theater that I need to drive far to. Probably need to do some research on the parking there though. This will definitely be under consideration.
I hope when the new theater in Anaheim next to the Honda Center opens, DT will do a show there eventually. That would be really good for me in terms of convenience.

Hometown gig, last date of the tour... I wouldn't be surprised if they make an announcement very soon that there will be something very special about this show. Something along the lines of "last time song X" will be played, or "only time Y will be played", or... maybe a one-time reunion with another founding member who also happens to hail from Long Island?

Wondering the same. If so may have to make another NYC trip 🫠
Yeah, sucks there's no NJ, so I'll have to travel a bit Nassau Caoliseum??!?! That seems like DT really pulling for an arena show in the US. It's a Saturday, last show of the tour. I'm planning on going. But I kind of expect it to not be full.

Yeah, it'll likely be like the London show to start the whole tour. Seating on the floor, curtains in the top, and then see how it sells before opening up more sections. Just my guess.
Happy DT is headlining Nassau Coliseum to end the run. An arena at home, pretty damn cool.
Glad that they announced the tour, but bruh, the photoshop on that poster, so amateur...

Holy shit the Providence tickets are fucking expensive.
The presale doesn't include aisle seats. I'll check back Friday.
Yeah, whoever crafted this poster didn't quite polish it enough.

Must not be for all shows today. I tried for a show and got an error. That happened on a couple different devices
Looking like Providence (definite) and possibly the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum show to close out the leg. The later completely depends on whether I'm up for the commute back, will be a game day decision. Looking forward to fall now!
It really sucks that they're skipping Dallas.
Let's go. I don't have to travel six hours this time just to see my favorite band. I'm very hyped about this, as Chicago's concert was so good. I'm excited to see them for the second time in my home state of Minnesota.
Oooooh I bet I can make Schenectady!

Man, they desperately need some online presence help.
All set for Des Moines and Chicago (Hammond), thanks for the heads up... all seats seemed to be unlocked for those venues
I'm super pumped this is another "Evening with" tour! Maybe not pumped for the guys' general health, but pumped for me! :lol
A bit bummed they're not playing in Raleigh but Charlotte is an easy enough hike. I understand why they're changing things up a bit from the cities for the 40th. I also see the two nights in Atlanta, and I believe one of those nights will be another 40th anniversary show (IIRC). Good luck to the guys busting out those tunes for one night only. :lol

Yeah, the only Northern California appearance is Aftershock, which is absolutely stupid. Yeah, we got the DT40 show, which was cool, but I want to see the Parasomnia tour, and to have no non-festival dates within Northern California or even Northern Nevada is silly. Hoping a second leg will happen.
Got my tickets for both the Reading & Long Island shows. Would have loved to do both nights in Atlanta but timing is bad for me.
Also, I would not be the least bit surprised if they come back in the summer of 2026 for a shed tour (wont be an Evening With tour though imo).

Yeah, I may have to drive down!
Got my tix for the Charleston show on 9/9! Gonna be awesome!
Which Parasomnia song are you most excited to hear them play? (other than Night Terror and Midnight Messiah, already debuted live?). Bend the Clock might be the new Spirit Carries On in concert.
And Shadow Man is gonna be fun. James is gonna take a helluva break though.
I don't think I can ever remember a tour not having a Philly show. I mean the place was sold out last tour. That's very disappointing if that's the case.
sheesh! It's always such a stress game when buying concert tickets. I check my phone about 7:45 before I leave for work. I have until 9am to figure out where will I go, can my friends go. We have to travel, so there is some planning. And then be ready to get in the "waiting room". The Oceanside presale tickets were Way overpriced. Like 300 each more than what I paid for the Tulsa show. I am waiting to get the Oceanside and see if there are better options.
On the last tour, I though they over-saturated the area from Northern CA to Colo. Sacramento, Reno, Salt Lake and Denver. The 2 I went to were not full at all. Now they skipped all those. I understand, and think its great they are hitting the other markets. But they have to drive through Reno anyway...
Very excited to see all of Parasomnia. I really like all of the songs. I am curious to see what they play on the 2nd set. I am sure different from the 40th anniversary. How fortunate to see So Much DT in one year, with such a Variety of music!! :metal
FINALLY I can attend a DT show again! I've had to miss the last three tours due to various trips and appointments, so thankfully I can attend this one. Just got second row for Phoenix (Mesa), so REALLY looking forward to this. :metal :metal :metal

Turns out there was an issue with the DT presale and you had to call to order. I did that and got front row! :metal :yarr
Just got a ticket for Nassau veterans, 7th row center. Could not pass that up! I cannot believe they are playing such a huge venu in NY. I REALLY hope they sell most these tickets!

No NYC either, also sold out last tour. Was at both and a bit shocked, for the first time ever, they aren't coming within a 90 minute drive of me. Granted, Nassau kind of is within that, the reality is it'll take much longer to get there than Philly.
Just got mine for St. Louis....tix selling fast at that Venue. Given the cost and amount of people I'm paying for had to go with Balcony seats...although, this venue the Balcony seats are pretty killer.

I don't disagree that the poster is a little rough looking. :lol But at this stage in their career, do you honestly think it would make much of a difference if they had more help with their online presence? Assuming that this help wouldn't be free, how much would they actually stand to gain from it?

I'd love to meet and hang with you too, Mike. I thought about it for a few minutes, but this year is pretty challenging. We took two weeks to head back East last summer and visit home on Long Island and the city of course. It was a blast showing my daughter where I grew up and why being a Long Islander is a bit different than just a "New Yorker." She appreciated the uniqueness. :heart Doing it again, solo, for a few days sounds fun, but there are some other things this year we have to prioritize, funding-wise. (College trips, etc.) Just bad timing, sadly.
No dates in the Pacific Northwest. I remember JLB saying they'd be back in Seattle for the fall Parasomnia tour. I wonder if there will be a second leg in early 2026?
Anyway, at least now I will get Symphony X tickets and I bet they are less than half the price.
Didn't realize I could purchase tickets today. Bought front row tickets!

While I do understand why you think this, I vehemently disagree with "at this stage of their career" statements. They are Dream Theater. They are one of the most influential progressive metal bands ever to grace this planet of ours. It does not cost much to have a tidy, visually-appealing online branding. Hell, AI generators can do better than this. I have seen bedroom projects that have better visual identities. Even "at this stage of their career", they should give a crap. This is mediocre work. They deserve better, the fans deserve better. When I say they need help, I don't necessarily mean expensive, super corporate level help. A freelancer on Fiverr could do better than this.
I am pretty sure they referred to the Parasomnia tour as 2025-2026. My guess is this is it for 2025 and another leg in 2026. Canada is missing from this tour and Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto are 3 of the cities they never miss.
See you in 2026!

Like I said, I don't disagree. But there's obviously something about this style that they think is good enough (like, if you squint a little and are being
very generous, the poster has a similar feel to the back cover of
Images and Words), and it's not going to sway me one way or the other. And maybe they feel that way too - it's not like a better looking poster is going to mean the difference between playing small theatres vs. selling out arenas.
It's all kind of fascinating, to be honest. :lol

Yes, it probably won't mean that they will player larger venues, but it's not that hard to do something better, or more expensive for that matter. I know that you do not disagree, it's just that the whole "That'll do." attitude gives me the shits. It's an easy way out to just say "Oh, they're riding into the sunset and they're happy." I just think they deserve better, and the fans do too.

Has there been a US show without seats recently? The last time I can think of was 2014 in NYC at Hammerstein Ballroom they had a GA floor from my experience.

I think because of the hype, the shows for the 40th anniversary, everyone was standing. It wasn't an issue as it may have been in the past. They hype still may be there for this tour, as it seems they are at many different venues. I, too prefer GA. But those tickets are much cheaper....

This is a dream of mine! One day, before they retire.
I'm just gonna take a chance on the second row, that's the best of what's left. It won't suck. I'll be seeing my favorite band of all time.

Yeah, I hear ya. I just get a seat in the back and stand so no ones behind me. Worked in the last row at RCMH, I was one of only like 4 peole standing in the top balcony. Philly I got away with it too because I bought a side seat with no one directly behind me.
I've stated many times, DT are a front row or last row band because of this. I see little joy in sitting the in the middle for a metal concert.

For RCMH, I sat the entire second half because someone behind me had "Back issues" and couldn't stand, so me trying not to be an ass I was sitting. They asked nicely, but it sucked the entire energy of the show for me :lol
That's my issue, I like being close to the stage, but if it's a seated venue I never know If I'll be standing or sitting since it all depends on what the people behind me (or in front) are doing.

False.
What people don't know is that he's going to dress up as the Shadow Man and creep around the stage.
I'm thinking there is no NJ show and no CT show on the hopes of those crowds all hitting the Long Island show at Nassau coliseum. That's a lot of seats to fill! I'm guessing there will be further announcements that will make people go to that gig too. (Recording the show, special songs played exc)
They would not book a show THAT big in the east coast without thinking they could sell it!
We're so back! Can't wait to snatch it up with the boys in Dream Theater again. Twice in one year! Un-fucking-believable!
at least there can be some discussion about new songs being played. I also like that they started rehearsals 2 weeks in advance. Hopefully the vocalmelodies are sorted this time around before playing live..

I'd rather take the chance on sitting down a great seat and get the energy from being near the action.
Hey all
just FYI, for the back to back Atlanta shows, they will be very different. MP has been trying to post wherever possible that September 13 will be a Parasomnia show, and September 14 will be the make up 40th Anniversary show that was cancelled a few months ago when JL got sick.

This will be the closest I've been for DT! Was bummed the show wasn't closer but so happy to get to see them for the third time this year.
I was WAY OFF in my venue predictions for the Parasomnia N.A. dates. I expected the L.I. shows to be 2 nights at the Paramount. I expected the NJ show to be at the Newark PAC and probably a date in AC, and the PA show to be at Wind Creek in Bethlehem! NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Probably gonna sit this one out. Not hyped about Parasomnia much anymore, not enough to make me wanna go to Baltimore.
Sure, I dropped $$$ for the front row Oceanside tickets. Also got the M&G VIP for this show, why not.
Oh, also nabbed front row for Long Beach.
Looking forward to some killer Parasomnia tracks. Hoping for some rare gems too. Wither needs more U.S. exposure. And would be great for a nice ballad for the Mrs.

This is great news. I was thinking that the Atlanta fall gig would either be a makeup for the 40th Anniversary show or the new album. In no way did I expect them to do both back to back. Kudos to the band for taking care of their Atlanta fans.
Quote from: ReaperKK on May 20, 2025, 05:54:21 PMI'm thinking about doing it, Atlanta is about a 4 hour drive from me and it's on the weekend.
Don't... Tempt... Me...
As much as I complained about not having a date near my city, it's good that the band is hitting other markets.

It's all a matter of taste. I don't consider that Wilson poster to be anything special, certainly not better than the Dream Theater one. I mean... do either of these artists have fans that are going to base a ticket purchase consideration on their perceived quality of tour poster?
Quote from: TheHoveringSojourn808 on May 20, 2025, 02:38:20 PMWe're so back! Can't wait to snatch it up with the boys in Dream Theater again. Twice in one year! Un-fucking-believable!

The DT artwork this cycle has been questionable. So I think that's probably why people are continuing to harp on any new art even if it's pretty meaningless for this case. As someone who's been skeptical, I didn't even look at the art for this because I just care about the dates so I'm in agreement that it's not really going to sell any tickets, nor likely cause someone not to go.

Not a matter of taste though, not what I mean. The DT one is sloppy and amateur. It's an execution issue, not a matter of aesthetics. I reject this "That'll do." attitude. It does not matter to you, but I think everyone deserves better and it isn't hard to do. Times have changed, these things matter now. It'd be great for DT to attract new fans and these things matter. Maybe not in your world, but it'd be great if DT could attract younger fans and even one matters.
Quote from: cramx3 on May 20, 2025, 01:00:43 PMYeah, I hear ya.
My whole section at RCMH stood the entire show. I'm thinking most the old farts sat in your section lol (no offence to the forums old farts ❤️)

None of the locations are really convenient for me. I suppose Reading PA is closest, but not an ideal week. Baltimore is a little further, but I think it's a Saturday, so that works better. And it would be cool to see DT play in arena if it sells well, so Nassau is furthest but probably the best for the experience and potential meetups. If it sells.
I'll keep an eye on tickets. If they wind up selling the bottom ring it would be cool to go.
Quote from: cramx3 on Today at 08:42:17 AMIt was the top balcony thats why
Yeah I'm just busting chops lol, usually when I get seats in the balcony I plan to sit. A lot of people probably do the same. Usually a more chill experience in the balcony.
I wish a very good concert, to persons of this forum who will be there.
Quote from: Anguyen92 on May 20, 2025, 08:02:37 AMLong Beach? All right, well, at least, it's a theater venue that's not Youtube Theater or Peacock Theater that I need to drive far to. Probably need to do some research on the parking there though. This will definitely be under consideration.
I hope when the new theater in Anaheim next to the Honda Center opens, DT will do a show there eventually. That would be really good for me in terms of convenience.
The Terrace Theater is next to the Long Beach Arena. I haven't been to a councert at LB Arena since 1991, but I've been to several theater shows. Parking is quite simple.
I got the notification about the shows while I was on a plane from Stockholm to NYC yesterday. I tried to buy while in the air, but I couldn't get it to go through. After all the money I spent on the 40th anniversary shows, I got a second row mezz seat on the aisle for about $95. I'll probably take 10/6 off work since the 5th is a Sunday.

This honestly astounds me, because to my untrained eye the DT poster is clearly lazily cropped in Photoshop or whatever program was used (the band sitting on these steps looks somewhat ridiculous) and the SW poster looks tasteful and measured and professional and at least somewhat well thought out.
I guess it
is a matter of taste among us non-designers (I imagine some graphic designers would argue taste doesn't come close to it, but I'm not one of them), but if someone prefers the DT poster over the SW one, I'm not going to hire them to design something for me. Sorry Stads. :P

Precisely this. It is badly done. You can have similar aesthetics and have something better to announce the tour with. This is just bad. They had a bad photoshop incident for the Portnoy reunion announcement too.

Seriously...I can't even imaging caring. I saw the poster on social media yesterday. I barely even looked at the picture. My eyes immediately went to the dates, and then to a link for the presale. I looked at the Wilson poster. It's obviously a different style, but I see nothing that makes me think it's any better in some perceived quality.
For those of you who didn't notice or don't care, that's fine. But I have no idea why you would think that your point of view is the normal one, or that these things simply don't matter.
The Steven Wilson one is clearly professionally done, and the DT one is clearly more haphazard. And if it didn't matter, neither party would have a PR team hire a graphic designer to do them in the first place (well, maybe DT didn't, at that lol).
Two things.
1- DT (or one of the member friend) has a friend who understands this kind of image things. (photoshops, drawing, ai..ect) Not professional but acceptional in some way. So they get on no matter what because of this friendship. This is like Hugh Syme treatment.
2- DT simply doesn't care.
Both options damage DT's reputation. DT can be a music band but they are also kind of company that has a DREAM THEATER brand. This must be managed professionaly in every possible way. DT is not kind of avarage band. They are named progressive titan. So you have to run it much more carefully. I don't think they are financially bad that can't hire professional social media team, including photo artists.
Some of you say they don't need this kind of things at the state of their current career. I think exact opposite. They definitely need professional social team more than ever to make their last period of career much more prestigious.

That one was better than this, though. This is as bad as I've seen.

Now that I actually looked, yeah the SW one is much better looking. The thing is, at least with AI (and this looks more like bad photoshop than AI) there's a large group of people who are against it being used for art. DT, IMO, has a legit chance of losing fans from it. It's likely small, but it's not 0. Some people care more than others. I don't have an issue, personally, with people upset about any art released from the band at this point. It's become a bit controversial, beyond just DTF or even DT.
It wouldn't be a DT announcement if the graphics are not discussed :lol
My 2 cents (And I guess a response to Bill), a bad poster might not deter fans from buying tickets, but it can certainly deter possible new fans from even checking out the band.
There have been several bands that the album cover is what got me to check them out, or an intriguing tour poster. These things are beyond announcing dates (if that was the case, it would just be a list of dates with no graphics), they're supposed to grab your attention.

Agreed.
It's puzzling how bad DT has gotten at this kind of stuff (remember the reunion picture when the Portnoy return was announced? That looked so lazy and half-assed), and while it may not impact their bottom line too much, I am surprised that any fans of this band would take "who cares if doesn't impact their pocketbook?" stance, considering a big appeal of DT to the more hardcore fan has always been their attention to detail with regards to the little things.

Personally, I wouldn't care if they were to use AI, what gives me the shits is the overall quality control issue here, something very simple to do in the grand scheme of things. As I said, I am not talking about the aesthetics of the poster, that's a choice. It's the execution that's bad. They should care, it does matter. I used the SW poster because of the age factor and it is well executed.
Also, this isn't an isolated incident. They have always had issues with quality control when it comes to their visual identity: Album cover issues (self titled album), Hugh Syme reusing a "design" that he used for another album, the reunion announcement "band photo" etc.

Precisely. It's a hit or nothing. As members here, we're well acquainted with the band, but those that are casual fans or unfamiliar with the music would be the target here.
I've had to find graphic designers for projects on short notice before, and it really is easy to get quality deliverables from freelancers. There are cheap, third party services dedicated to connecting clients and designers. All DT needs is one 30-something on their team. They don't even have to be good at socials or design, they just need to find the people or services who are.

I'd prefer this. I don't need some cheesy stupid photo - I know what the band looks like. Just give me the dates!

How is the sound here? Any recommendations for best seats/sightlines? Haven't been to a show here so debating on what section/view might give the best experience for the price.
I know ticket prices are going up for everyone these days, but I'm still absolutely floored that the first 5 row are all $300 for a standard seat (not VIP or Platinum), and then drops to $185 starting in row 6. that is a huge jump between price tiers!
Debating between front of Loge for $98, or middle of Orchestra at either the $160 or $184 tier

Oh, also nabbed front row for Long Beach.
Looking forward to some killer Parasomnia tracks. Hoping for some rare gems too. Wither needs more U.S. exposure. And would be great for a nice ballad for the Mrs.
Also added front row for the Iowa show for good measure. The wife likes to travel to new states and I like Dream Theater, so it all works out!

Quote from: Samsara on May 20, 2025, 09:38:55 AMYeah, the only Northern California appearance is Aftershock, which is absolutely stupid. Yeah, we got the DT40 show, which was cool, but I want to see the Parasomnia tour, and to have no non-festival dates within Northern California or even Northern Nevada is silly. Hoping a second leg will happen.
I saw that too. Keep in mind that they often release tour dates with the list not being complete, and add in dates afterward as the bookings get finalized. And there are 4 days off between the date in Colorado and the date in Sacramento, so there may be something that gets added. I haven't asked management, so I don't know for sure. But I would not be surprised if we get a date added. They seemed to like the venue they played in Sac last time, and they sold it pretty well, so I would not be surprised if they booked it again if it was available and the cost worked.

Nice! this will be the first time I'm seeing DT in the front row. Only other time I've been front row is during general admissions for Steven Wilson in a small club and the Neal Morse Band a while back.

My seats for October 7th. I could have gotten way closer, but everytime without fail I'm behind gigantic sasquatch motherfuckers, and can't see shit, so now I have a perfect view with no one in front of me. My wife will be going again and this time she can enjoy the show.
I for the life of me have no idea what show I should go to. Providence, Schenectady, or Long Island are on the table.
