I'm hoping they announce a show in Spain so I can see them live—seems like a safer bet than waiting for them to come to Colombia!
Is this part of the album tour or still a continuation of the 40th Anniversary?
I believe it's still the 40th anniversary. Selfishly, I kind of wish it wasn't, 'cos that show on the 4th July is gonna be my fourth rodeo. Didn't realise that when I booked it.

Jun 12 – Z! Live, Zamora, Spain ;)
The Bulgaria shows will be recorded for release, I think.
The Plovdiv State Opera Orchestra and Choir frequently collaborate with heavier bands and these shows usually get recorded for release. It'd be odd for Dream Theater to schedule two back to back dates, if it isn't for a release.
MP has a Plovdiv live album with Sons of Apollo.

That's a scoop!

More of an educated guess, let's say. Not insider information.
I have provided further clarification.

Oh, OK.
So let's say that you're correct. We'll have that, the Paris 40th Anniversary show, and I would expect a Parasomnia show too, no?

I doubt that. Mike stated that they are planing some special things for Bulgaria show. Maybe they'll record it for bootleg release. But maybe they'll add some videos from Bulgaria show for offical DVD, who knows.
We have Paris show and NY show will be recorded for the next DVD. Can DT afford to record multiple show professionally? :lol

They're different tours, no? I think they'll have a slightly different setlist for the next set of European shows. Also, some of the European shows are headlining shows, while others are festivals. So there's that too.

Depends on what they'll do with the recordings. All Dream Theater shows get recorded these days, just not filmed professionally.
The "something special" that MP mentioned is the orchestra. That particular orchestra has a set menu of classic tracks that you can choose to perform with them. It doesn't require long periods of rehearsals to execute. Given that they do not have much time between shows, taking travel and such into account, I think they'll go that route. So, I'm thinking that we might get a Dream Theater cover album after all these years in the form of a Lost Not Forgotten bootleg release. Or the return of Ytse Jam Records now that MP is in the band?

Oh fuck, really? Snooze.
Quote from: TAC on March 21, 2025, 04:55:30 PMIt is? Did I miss that?
Not to the best of my knowledge, no. MP is usually vocal about things about to be recorded for release.
Quote from: TAC on March 21, 2025, 05:01:14 PMOh fuck, really? Snooze.
Well, it's either the orchestra, or they decided to release a Dream Theater cigarette with Plovdiv tobacco and decided to launch it there.
Nebula Cigarettes by John Petrucci

For f+cks sake, I didn't see that one when I posted the dates. I need to start my plans like right now.
Quote from: TAC on March 21, 2025, 05:01:14 PMOh fuck, really? Snooze.
Seriously! The last thing I'd want to see is a covers album live with an orchestra.

Ironically, that's probably the most compelled I'd be to buy a John Petrucci branded product.

You mean, you don't have the Nebula beard balm?
I'll be at the Turku show on June 3rd. :tup
First show of the European summer tour as well!
Hope they come back to the UK at some point this year. One date (although a special one) so far is a bit of a bummer

They'll be back. Bet it's Wembley Arena, though. Which would be a real shame because it's a terrible place to see any band.

I have never been a pundit there, but I have been crew - unfortunately, multiple times. I have a list of worst live venues to work at, Wembley Arena is pretty high up.

Couple of nights at the Apollo would be decent

I do. It's good stuff. I also have the beard oil.

Ah, a friend of mine, who has a massive beard - goes down to his belly, has the beard oil - he uses it regularly, but apparently, he didn't like the balm.

I like both, lovely scent, sadly doesn't stick around for long though

Hopefully back in theatre venues. Always enjoy seeing them in Manchester Apollo.
In Greece they'll be playing with Mastodon and Haken on the same day. Quite the special package.

Proof that all shows should be Evening With..! ;D

Now that's a lineup I would be good with!.. if they aren't doing An Evening With
Haha - everyone's different...
Will see them in Istanbul in July, and although I'd love to see the full set, seeing Haken with them would be really cool!
