Title: A little guitar comedy
Post by: HOF on December 22, 2023, 06:34:53 PM
Not even sure what show this is (it was something British), but there's quite a lineup of guitar heroes making an appearance in this sketch:

Wow, don't think I've ever seen that one before.  Impressive casting call there.  It's a variation on the old chestnut.

Q:  How do you get a guitar player to play more quietly?

A:  Put sheet music in front of him.

Q:  How do you get a guitarist to stop playing?

A:  Put notes on it.

Gilmour's frown while interrupted right before the big bend is one of the most guitar things you'll ever see.

I've seen this before, silly but brlliant with a strong Monty Python vibe. And how did they get all those great musicians?

Do non-guitar players understand the sketch?  ;)

I showed it to my wife, and she got the gist of it. But she’s at least familiar with guitar tabs.

I like it that exhibit A is the Amajor chord.  :D

That was great. Not seen it before, despite being a Brit and it being my era!

Not sure what the show was but the pair at the start were a "resident club band" comedy act that were on lots of shows, as i recall, called "Raw Sex".  ;D

I think the show was called French and Saunders and ran in the late 80s-early 90s.

That sounds right! They also did the music at the start of The Comic Strip iirc, which featured the fantastic metal band spoof Bad News.

Never seen that before, that was awesome.  Always love seeing some appreciation for Gary.

Easy to think of the Pythons when watching.
