Sign up below and leave a "need by" date if you are leaving town/school for the holidays. Default date is Dec. 10, that way we avoid the shipping deluge. If you have a true "need by" date, a return date would also be helpful incase you have to get your gift out late.
Rules:
* Don't tell anyone who you have. If you need gift ideas, PM me and I will contact your SS, or you can post suggestions for yourself in this thread once the matchmaking is done.
* Gifts should be around $30 not including shipping.
* Plan on shipping your gift at least a week before someone's "Need by" date. Different people might have different dates, be courteous to your recipient. This includes being late, try not to be too late.
* Pictures or video of you opening is required. Video preferred.
* There is a minimum "notoriety" requirement. Due to my lack of activity, I will defer decisions of new people to a counsel of trusted users. In all but two cases, the person who fails to give a gift is a newbie. A repeat of six years ago non-participants is unacceptable.
*NEW FOR THIS YEAR* You must provide me with tracking information. I have two suggestions to do this and one for keeping shipping down:
1) Buy from Amazon or other online vendor that provides you a tracking number. HOWEVER, they will ship it fast, so if you want to go that route, send the participant a card with a letter (which some of us do anyway), and send it a week before you order. Address it to the person and their handle so they know it is from DTF. In the letter state their gift will come direct from the vendor(s) and wish have fun with the rest.
2) USPS isn't that bad usually, I have sent things three day for about $10 in the past. Make sure you have a tracking number to give me if I ask for it.

EDIT: Oh. Gift ideas. I'm easy to please. I like when people try to be creative or unique with their gifts, especially if it's clever and funny (jingle.boy's gifts last year, Christmas Vacation/Trump themed, was awesome). Pictures of a hike you took that you think look cool. Whatever! But if you want hard interests, the things I am most interested in are: anything Nintendo (Zelda!), Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, anything related to puzzles (jigsaw, sudoku, crosswords etc. or stuff like Rubik's Cubes are amazingly fun), ANIMALS! especially birds and whales, posters (my living room is literally lined to near capacity with band posters and flags). Sheet music for piano. I also like baking? :lol

For those who don't know me as well, my primary interests are the mighty jackalope, cats, nuns, all things death-related/morbid, craft beer and of course Nicolas Cage.

Took up new hobbies in the last year - outdoor gardening (raised planter) and making ceramics.
Have a new Switch with only a couple games so far - Zelda BOTW, Animal Crossing and old school classics that can be downloaded like tetris, mario, etc)
Training for a marathon and raising money for a local charity to help people dealing with homelessness
Other likes include Colorado Avalanche, reading on my kindle mostly sci-fi and fantasy.

I'm super into anything dance game (ddr/itg/piu/etc) or Tetris related. I do have shelves where I keep all the little tchotchkes I get, some little Pokemon figures, puzzle games, video games, and other miscellaneous nerd/fandom items. To provide ideas for my SS....I like golfing, bird watching, St. Louis Blues Hockey, drinking LOTS of coffee and am a father of three boys. Not against this idea if timing works out for everyone, but then we won't all have that slow trickle of videos over the course of a few weeks. I could also record it and share if that's the way we go with this.

Sorry I've been behind on this, but gift ideas:
As I say every year, I love the opening to be an experience / good video, so funny or thoughtful gifts with good notes are usually the ones I am most fond of. I have so much physical music media I wouldn't try threading the needle on getting something I don't have but would definitely like. When it comes to music related clothing I'm also pretty overstuffed. That said, I am a XXL if someone is looking to go that route.
I am super excited to be picking up my Model Y in a few days, so some ideas for that:

I’m not opposed to the idea, but that might be like herding cats. Also, we wouldn’t get the natural progression of weirdness that is so DTF. I think a short group video chat would be awesome though.

Oh, I would definitely record it. The other alternative is doing the regular individual recordings, then we get the group together just for shits and giggles maybe the week after Christmas. I'm sure many of us would be off work that final week of the year.

So this is my fault but there's a problem with the shipping on my gift and I won't have it sent out until... next Friday. With the snow storm here, I got delayed in getting my package out. I expect to have it out tomorrow and will probably pay for it to ship faster so it arrives soon. I'm planning on doing my video this weekend.

Funny, after my last post I went to check my packages to confirm everything was here since there were multiple shipments. And everything IS here but one of the trackings says it's still out for delivery :facepalm:
I think with the pandemic, weather issues, and the mass amount of online ordering this season, the mail system is really struggling. Amazon hasn't been able to ship things next day for awhile for me.

I tracked the package I sent to my SS recipient on 12/7.......all it says is '12/12....in Transit' >:( There are two more steps in the flow chart.....out for delivery....and delivered. I mailed that thing almost two weeks ago.

I don't like giving specifics to mailing and delivery to help keep things more secret for the recipient if they go through the trouble of trying to not see/read addresses and such when the package arrive, but I will say what I sent out also had a delay on it. Same thing happened to me with an amazon package I ordered. Said label made for over a week and nothing else. I was shocked a few days ago when it changed to shipped. Was supposed to be here over a week ago and it should theoretically be here tomorrow.
It's all good though. They're slammed to all hell and I can be patient.

You guys and people I know on Facebook are all saying "Where's my package. What the hell (insert package delivery service)."
Usually, it's The USPS or FedEx. Haven't heard much about UPS and I have ordered so much this past year through the mail that I don't even bother with tracking unless it's more than a week from the said delivery date. Most just say "should be delivered by this time."
I ordered some Bears gear , and they gave the notice that Covid is affecting shipping orders with FedEx. And to expect shipping delays. Which it actually came within a week, surprisingly.

My only issue is with the tracking. I know everything is behind. I get this. But seriously, not scanning the bar code is dumb because that's literally part of the process. If it sits waiting for a carrier, at least there's record of where it's sitting. If it's in transit on a truck and stuck in a snowstorm, at least there's record of it being put on the truck. Or at least, that's the general idea. UPS usually had it down to a science. FedEx is really hit or miss. But the USPS regularly, at least in my area, fails to scan barcodes so it looks as if they never actually picked up what I shipped. If it was picked up and scanned and went to my local depot and sat there, at least I'd know it was sitting there. When I inquired after over a week, all the USPS did was tell me "according to tracking we are still waiting on your package." No shit, Sherlock, THAT'S WHY I INQUIRED.
I've had packages I've ordered run the gamut of next day delivery to taking a week longer than promised. It is what it is, but what is the point of even offering tracking if it is unusable.
EDIT: We are diverging from the point of this thread. Back on the rails we go: I'll video when I get my gift but I will not be the one to pop the 2020 SS Cherry. :D

My sister and her family got it and it seemed to be pretty mild for them, but I also know it hammered my step-sisters family.

I just discovered Yellowbird this year. Not the hottest, but super tasty and not vinegary which is what I look for in good sauce. Vinegary sauces are good for delivery pizza and the like. I got the sample pack for myself to try on Amazon prime day and I was really surprised at how good they are, so I chose those for two of the SS gifts as well as for a non-DTF friend. The third secret gift is taking some work because I couldn’t send Yellowbird across the border, so I’m teaming up with another member to get them some hot sauce from a personal friend and also the maker of some of my favorite sauces. The quality seemed pretty solid, and the joystick and buttons made it feel like I was playing a legit arcade game from the 80s. My elder daughter and I are having a hard time finding activities she and I can do together, so I am happy she has taken an interest in video games. She also has commented (repeatedly) on how everyone has a Wii/Wii U/Switch/XBox/Playstation but us. (we have a Wii but it is on loan to my sister).

RJ.....the cameo’s are pretty cool. I had MP do one for my sons B Day earlier this year and I have ones from Rudess, Mangini and Labrie ready for my kiddos for Christmas gifts. They all knocked them out of the park and it’s relatively affordable when you consider what you get. Awesome idea from you SS!

:lol It actually wasn't as close as it appeared, but it was still surprising. That fucker is incredibly sharp. It was given to me as a birthday present by someone who had no clue what to get me. I never asked for it since I have plenty of actual pocket knives, and then I opened a present to find a deadly weapon.
You couldn't see the blade but you might be able to gauge how fast it went through the tape. I'm sitting there like "oh there's plenty of space," and then it's like the tape wasn't ever there.

Polished off the Yellowbird jalapeno sauce, moving on to the serrano. That was a bigger jump in spiciness than I had anticipated.

EDIT: it didn't....well, to be more accurate, only the bottom half worked. The rest of the water leaked out.

Over my right shoulder is a cane that my grandfather carved out of a root of a tree (you can only see the bottom of it - it's about 3 1/2 feet long), and a 4x6 picture of him. Mrs.jingle put it in that frame after he passed away 15ish years ago. Right behind me is my University degree.
