Let's have some fun!
You can post two lists, what you think it's gonna be and what you would like it to be.
Prediction:
False Awakening Suite
Pale Blue Dot
Paralyzed
Three Days
Voices
Barstool Warrior
Wither
As I Am
Untethered Angel
A Wit's End
Bridges in The Sky
Set #2:
SFAM
ENCORE: Metropolis
Wish list: They pull a 70's Pink Floyd move and play the 2 whole albums, D/T and SFAM, also Metropolis as encore.
-
That's a really long 1st set. They played 7 songs in the 1st set during IWB.
-
You're right, I need to trim it down.
-
I really don't think they will do this, but I'd be very happy if they played all of the 'standard' edition of Distance Over Time. Every song on it is great and will work fantastically in a live setting. And then all of Scenes, which they've said they're going to play. Plus an encore. Fantasy setlist looks like this:
Fall Into The Light
Paralyzed
S2N
Misunderstood
Barstool Warrior
Room 137
Out of Reach
Untethered Angel
Speak To Me
Pale Blue Dot
At Wit's End
(about 75 minutes)
Intermission
Scenes From A Memory
(75 minutes)
Encore:
The Glass Prison
Total concert: 2:45 hours (3 hours with intermission), which I believe is the usual 'Evening With' run time.
-
Untethered Angel
Paralyzed
Erotomania
Voices
The Silent Man
Barstool Warrior
S2N
At Wit's End
Peruvian Skies
Pale Blue Dot
---
SFAM
---
Metropolis
-
That's a really long 1st set. They played 7 songs in the 1st set during IWB.
Based solely on the lengths of songs on the albums, it's a little over 85 minutes for the first set + 77 minutes for SFAM + 9 1/2 minutes for Metropolis = about 10 minutes shy of 3 hours. Not completely unrealistic. Edit: Looks like the OP removed "Misunderstood" from the first set right as I was posting this, so the 85 minute figure has changed.
What I think IS unrealistic are the lack of an instrumental in the first set, the omission of "Surrender to Reason" and the inclusion of anything from I&W.
-
pg1067 Yeah I felt like 85 minutes was pushing it but then I read your post and it made sense again heh
I think all 3 points you mentioned as unrealistic are a little presumptuous. Correct me if I am wrong but we've had set lists without an instrumental before, no? And was Surrender to Reason confirmed or just because they said they wanna play all the songs from that album at one point? As far as Metropolis, I think if it as a part of the SFAM package. If there's anything on there I'd make bets over, it's that Pale Blue Dot is the opener and Metropolis will be played either as an encore or as a 1st set list closer instead of Bridges in The Sky.
-

Yeah..."unrealistic" probably wasn't a good choice of words on my part. I guess all I'm really saying is that I think those elements won't happen, but your point about Metropolis being part of a package with SFAM is well-taken. If it does get played, I think it makes more sense as a set 1 closer, though, and maybe Voices as the encore.
-
I'm probably not going to be able to see them live, but I would LOVE to see "The Glass Prison" as the encore, following the static-ending of "Finally Free" through the post-set break before they come back on stage.
As for set one, I'd love to see them play at LEAST 6 of the new songs: the first three on the album seem like a given, since they were the pre-release singles, but also throw in "S2N", "At Wit's End" and "Pale Blue Dot". That's about 42 minutes of new material, plus the highly-anticipated performance of "Surrender To Reason", that leaves about 30-31 minutes of first set left to fill.
I really hope they don't play "Bridges In The Sky" or "Breaking All Illusions", give the ADTOE epics a rest at this point. I wouldn't mind a DT12 song or two, but I think they'll pull out some stuff from 8VM and SC that hasn't been played in awhile, perhaps a ballad like "I Walk Beside You" or even bring back something like "The Ministry Of Lost Souls".
Either way, it would be nice to see them close the first set with "Metropolis Part 1" as a way to tease the second set performance of SFAM!
-Marc.
-
S2N
The Killing Hand
Surrender To Reason
Untethered Angel
Fall Into The Light
The Glass Prison
Pale Blue Dot
At Wit's End
SFAM
Encore:
6:00
Erotomania
Scarred
-
Here we go!!
Untethered Angel
Panic Attack
Just Let Me Breathe (alt. Room 137)
S2N
Surrender to Reason
Moment of Betrayal
Fall Into the Light
Blind Faith
At Wit's End (alt. Barstool Warrior)
Metropolis pt. 1
SFAM
The Glass Prison
Pale Blue Dot
... VIPER KING!!
I think I blew the 2h45min mark by 15 minutes or so, but essentially that's the blend of what I think we can expect and what would make me immensely happy!
The one that feels less realistic to me is Room 137, but I just had to throw it in. I don't know if they'd hook James up to a vocoder (maybe if JR can operate it?), but it could be a highlight!
-
My wishlist is like others just the full D/T album plus some deep tracks maybe Don't look past me or Eve or Speak to me.
I'd also like to ask for those who have done the meet and greet in the past, are you allowed to take pics and videos with your camera?
-
I'd love to see full D/T in set one, but Petrucci already said they're not going to play the whole album. The hard part now is deciding which songs don't make the cut, as every one is excellent. Also hoping for the debut of STR.
-
I'd like something like this:
Fall Into The Light
Paralyzed
The Bigger Picture
Misunderstood
S2N
At Wit's End
Vacant
Stream of Consciousness
Sacrificed Sons
-----------------
Metropolis Pt. 2
-----------------
Out of Reach
Pale Blue Dot
-
Fall Into the Light
Barstool Warrior
Misunderstood
Hollow Years
Pale Blue Dot
The Killing Hand
Wither
At Wits End
SFAM
Encore
Viper King
In the Name of God
-
My dream set list:
Raw Dog
You Not Me
Along For The Ride
Barfbag
Interlude: 15 Minute NOMACS Solo
Just Let Me Breathe
Prophets of War (feat. the DT fan choir)
Slow Motion
Take Away My Pain (with 10 Minute JLB Tambourine Solo)
Far From Heaven (extended version)
ENCORE:
Raw Dog
For real this time, I'd love:
Barstool Warrior (this screams opener!)
S2N
Constant Motion
The X Aspect or Moment Of Betrayal
Fall Into The Light
Breaking All Illusions
At Wit's End
Pale Blue Dot
SFAM
Encore:
In The Presence Of Enemies (Full)
-
My dream set list:
Raw Dog
You Not Me
Along For The Ride
Barfbag
Interlude: 15 Minute NOMACS Solo
Just Let Me Breathe
Prophets of War (feat. the DT fan choir)
Slow Motion
Take Away My Pain (with 10 Minute JLB Tambourine Solo)
Far From Heaven (extended version)
ENCORE:
Raw Dog
:rollin
This set only needs a Mike Portnoy cookie monster guest solo spot.
-
I'd love to see full D/T in set one, but Petrucci already said they're not going to play the whole album. The hard part now is deciding which songs don't make the cut, as every one is excellent.
Mike Mangini finally gets to write a lyric for a DT song and I'll bet it ends up being one of the few that doesn't make the cut this tour (assuming several do not get played at any show). Poor guy.

HA!!! How'd I leave this out??
-
Pretty hard to fit everything in, with two albums to promote.
I'd go with something like...
1. Pale Blue Dot
2. Paralyzed / Untethered Angel
3. Peruvian Skies
4. Misunderstood / Blind Faith
5. Three Days / Wither
6. Room 137 / S2N
7. Barstool Warrior
8. The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun / Light Fuse and Get Away
9. At Wit's End
10. Metropolis pt. 2
11. In the Presence of Enemies pt. 1
12. Pull Me Under
Lots of tracks people won't have seen before or recently, a nod to WDADU for its 30th anniversary, I think the A/B set makes sense with two albums to promote, and it's weird that PBD is at the end of the album rather than the start so I've "corrected" (!) that live.
-
It makes sense to put Metropolis part 1 due to connection of SFAM but I doubt anything from I&W returns to the setlist this tour.
-
I'm gonna say...
Pale Blue Dot
Octavarium
That would be amazing I think. Listening to it now
-
When The Water Breaks as encore :heart
-
The encore or song just before must be PBD! I really hope they play At Wit's End and Barstool Warrior as well. FITL should be a fantastic live song as well. Guess anything from D/T is gonna sound fantastic live.
-
The Glass Prison
Barstool Warrior
Fall into the Light
Paralyzed / Untethered Angel
Surrender to Reason
Room 137 / S2N
A Fortune in Lies
Out of Reach
Pale Blue Dot
SFAM
Metropolis
At Wit's End
Alternate tracks are for setlist rotation between nights
-
I know they mentioned that Awake will be getting a nod, so I'm guessing that A Mind Beside Itself will make an appearance. I don't think this tour will be D/T heavy as SFAM seems to be the main event, so I'm guessing the singles the released prior will be debuted and maybe another random song from the album. This is a prediction, not wishlist, which would exclude TGP and AMBI since I've see them already.
Untethered Angel
Surrender To Reason
Paralyzed
Lost Not Forgotten
Fall Into The Light
Out Of Reach
Erotomania
Voices
The Silent Man
-------------
SFAM

The Glass Prison

They did? Sweet!
Granted, I will not be seeing them this year since they are not coming to my city, but that would be disappointing if the new album wasn't heavily featured. The band has always went really heavy on songs from whatever new album they are touring on, and I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case this time. Even with all of Scenes getting played, they should still be able to play 5-6 new songs a night.
-

I also think R137 is one of the few they’ll leave out of the set, because it’s the weirdest and that Beatles-ish section might be a bit hard to play live only using James’ vocals (unless they use the backing track, of course).
As for the set, DTA is right, I think it was James who said they’re giving a nod to Awake, my bet is the Erotomania/Voices duo, no TSM, please.
Hope they also include a song from WDADU, which is 30 years old this year. TKH would be sweet.
-
Well, Awake is their best album, so a nod to it should always be in the works.

I do feel they're overdoing the anniversary stuff a little bit. They've not done a "normal" tour since A Dramatic Turn of Events!
Might be getting the order wrong, but we've had...
- Awake and Scenes
- 30th Anniversary
- The Astonishing
- Images and Words
- Awake and Scenes... again!
Once in a while is quite nice, but I'm not convinced that "five years later, Awake and Scenes are still a thing" is entirely notable. Might just be me.
AMBI as an encore feels like a pretty solid prediction, though.
-
Set 1:
-S2N
-This Dying Soul
-Surrender To Reason
-Fall Into The Light/Untethered Angel (probably Angel)
-Blind Faith
-Barstool Warrior
-In The Name Of God
Set 2:
-SFAM
Encore:
-6:00
-Erotomania
-Scarred

Will post my predictions when I get a chance, but I was at the listening party on Thursday, and when I got my vinyl autographed by JP, I asked him if we’d be getting any When Dream and Day Unite this tour. He said “Probably not... I actually didn’t realize it had been 30 years until someone mentioned it to me!” Then we had a brief convo about where time goes haha.
So it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting the Killing Hand or anything else from the forst record this go around. I was a bit surprised and disappointed, but I’m gonna love whatever they play, I have no worries about that. I imagine it’ll get a nod soon, when they eventually stop playing full albums on tour :P

Oh, man, I was really expecting at least one song from WDADU, but if this means we get more songs from D/T instead, it's all good :metal
About the Awake nod, I hope it's just 1 or 2 songs max, not more than that. If we see the Awake songs they haven't played with MM yet, we have Erotomania, Voices and Innocence Faded, and I don't see the last one being played again because of the super demanding vocal parts it has.
Also, hope there's no IAW songs this time, not even Metropolis. They just played the whole thing.
-
With their song times somewhat close, any chance they alternate Paralyzed/Room 137 and Barstool Warrior/S2N from show to show?
-
That's very possible IMO.
-

I'm honestly feeling like this is sort of a D/T Tour Part 1 where they're just going to do a few songs from the album and then do the real big D/T Tour Part 2 later this year or early 2020. I doubt they're going to explore a huge portion of the album on this run in order to save it for next time to get the most mileage out of it. SFAM is the main event for this upcoming run.

So you think we’re just gonna get the singles on this run?
-
First set:
Four songs from the new album. I would prefer they be Paralyzed, Barstool Warrior, At Wit's End, and Pale Blue Dot.
I'd also like a few from Awake (25 years old this year) - 6:00, The Mirror, Lie
The Great Debate
Stream of Consciousness, In the Name of God
And one song each from ADTOE and self-titled
That's 13 tunes, which may be too much, given length. But that's what I'd LIKE to hear.
Second set:
I'd like them to START with Metropolis, and then fully end with the performance of Scenes. Just makes the most sense to me that way.

This would be awesome! If the song from ADTOE was Breaking All Illusions or Bridges In The Sky, and the song from DT12 was Surrender To Reason, this is right up my alley.
-
They're not coming up to the Pacific Northwest again on this tour so I guess it doesn't matter. If they do a second leg which seems unlikely, I would like to see them focus on the new album more than anything. I would be ok with it if they ditched the Scenes in it's entirety set and just played a mix of songs throughout their career.
The encore would be Octavarium followed by Viper King.. Leave on a fun note. :metal

Talk about the ultimate insult to Octavarium :lol
-
Not intended to be an insult on 8vm. :lol
An amazing epic than close the show with something light hearted. Rush did that alot at the and of their concerts. Example, La-Villa Strangiato leading to " in the mood".. :lol
-
Didn't they just do an Awake anniversary on the DT12 tour? I listened to the JP interview again from Eddie Trunk, and he never mentioned playing anything from Awake.
TBH, I almost hope they'd just skip anything catalog on the 1st set - just play the new stuff.

Well, they never said they're celebrating Awake or anything, James said they're giving a nod to it, which I interpret as 1 or 2 songs, no more than that.
-
I hope not more than one song, preferably Voices or Space-Dye Vest.
-
Hopefully they'll do a 2nd leg that has no anniversary ties and has an anything goes setlist. Imagine the possibilities and excitement when we won't know whats gonna be played.
-
Hopefully they throw in some curveballs for the set :tup :tup
1. Pale Blue Dot
2. Barstool Warrior
3. Caught In A Web
4. War Inside My Head/The Test That Stumped Them All
5. Lines In The Sand
6. Short Mirror/Lie Medley
7. Lifting Shadows Off A Dream
8. Honor Thy Father
9. S2N
10. At Wits End
[Intermission]
Set Two:
SFAM in full (as promised)
Encore: Metropolis part 1
------------------------------------
But when it comes to later in the tour when they're done popping the cork for the SFAM anniversary, I'd like them to play some stuff they haven't for a while, like:
The Killing Hand
Under A Glass Moon
Eve
Voices
Speak to me
-
Hopefully they'll do a 2nd leg that has no anniversary ties and has an anything goes setlist. Imagine the possibilities and excitement when we won't know whats gonna be played.
This! :tup
Hopefully they make a stop in Seattle/Vancouver/Portland.

I think we'll get the 3 singles plus another song. With only 10 songs on the album, they have to get 2-3 years of mileage out of this and JP is pretty savvy when it comes to setlist-creation so I'm guessing that we'll get a few on this run and then a few others on a later leg in order to maximize the life of the album. But I could be completely wrong.
-
Fall Into the Light
Just Let Me Breathe
S2N
Erotomania
Voices
Untethered Angel
At Wit’s End
The Ones Who Help to Set The Sun
Pale Blue Dot
——————————-
SFAM
———————————
In The Name of God
-
I've been trying to contribute to this thread for days and just cannot figure out how they could cover such an enormous discography within one set and hardly an encore. Good luck to the guys in pulling it off, honestly.
-
I've decided that for this first upcoming leg, they probably won't hit too much "pre-Mangini" stuff in the first set, since the second will be SFAM. So this is what I've come up with:
Pale Blue Dot
The Enemy Inside
Untethered Angel
Outcry
Fall Into the Light
Chosen
Erotomania
Surrender To Reason
---------------------------
Scenes From a Memory
---------------------------
The Glass Prison (or Octavarium)
-
I'd like them to play some stuff they haven't for a while, like:
Under A Glass Moon
They literally played this last tour :)
-
Not so much a setlist prediction... But what are the chances Dream Theater does an incredible multimedia production for Scenes, like they did for The Astonishing?
-

Wouldn’t go so far as to say multi media, but JP just revealed in the new Trunk interview that they’ll have brand new animated visuals to accompany the story.
-
Awesome. I saw Scenes in its entirety at my very first DT concert years ago. Can't wait to see it again!
-
I've been looping the hell out of D/T since the release so I decided to listen to something else today so I won't burn out. Decided to revisit Luna Park & HH13 since it's been a while. Now ADTOE is my favorite tour of their career, the visuals, the intro, the set lists, etc. were just top notch to my liking, but I've had a few problems with Luna Park that I'm concerned about for the D/T tour as well since I'm seeing them on the last dates.
Here's the thing, JLB is the only frontman I know who's performance of new songs gets worse later in the tour as a opposed to better, not his voice, but the way he performs the lyrics. The tweaks to the vocals melodies of new songs. For example his performance of Bridges was stellar for the first leg of the ADTOE tour when I saw them, now I listen to Luna Park and I don't like the tweaks he made to the vocal melody of the chorus at all. He also talks over one of my favorite instrumental sections of Breaking All Illusions :lol
Small potatoes though.
-
Untethered Angel
Paralyzed (A) / Fall Into the Light (B)
Surrender to Reason
Barstool Warrior (A) / At Wit's End (B)
Wither
6:00
Caught in a New Millennium
Pale Blue Dot
----
Scenes From a Memory
----
Glass Prison
-
After the last couple of tours I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get a first set comprised mainly of MM-era material. Something tells me Out of Reach is a contender for the tour, for similar reasons that Along for the Ride made it to the DT12 setlist. A reasonable guess would be:
The Glass Prison
Untethered Angel
Paralysed
Moment of Betrayal (TA has to be represented)
On The Backs of Angels (Again - yawn!)
Fall Into the Light
Out of Reach
The Killing Hand (I can but hope)
------
SFAM
------
Pale Blue Dot
-
Not to derail, but it's hard not to imagine what a set list could have looked like if they weren't playing all of Scenes...
Set 1:
Untethered Angel
Paralyzed
Peruvian Skies
Through My Words/Fatal Tragedy
Fall into the Light
Voices
Out of Reach
At Wit's End
Our New World
Set 2:
Bridges in the Sky
Bartsool Warrior
Room 137
Goodnight Kiss
Solitary Shell
S2N
Pale Blue Dot
In the Name of God
Encore:
Octavarium
-

I think we'll probably get about 6 songs from the new album. I still stand by what I said earlier in the other thread: I think Fall Into the Light will be the show opener, and that we will get all three promo singles. The other three songs I think we will get are: Pale Blue Dot (either as set closer or, more likely, one of the encore spots), Barstool Warrior, and Room 137.

I don't think they'd leave AWE out of the set, literally everyone who's heard the album loves the song, but you might have inside knowledge we don't, so... :justjen
-
I'm just going off of public things the band has said about each of the songs during the release cycle, and how they seem to feel about them. I wouldn't post a "prediction" if I had inside knowledge about what they will play. I have purposely avoided knowledge of the upcoming set list, and I plan to keep it that way. :) (other than the fact that JP told me about the SFAM set long before that was made public)

(False Awakening Suite)
Untethered Angel

I'll bet on this setlist:
Set One:
1. Unthered Angel
2. Paralyzed
3. Fall Into the Light
4. Surrender to Reason
5. Caught in a Web
6. Erotomania
7. Voices
8. S2N
9. At Wit's End
10. Pale Blue Dot
Set Two: Scenes (Finally Free as encore)
-
I could never leave a DT show disappointed.
But, I will really be missing AWE if they don't play it this time. :'(
-
I hope not more than one song, preferably Voices or Space-Dye Vest.
I'm hoping for Space-Dye Vest since I could use a nap during such a long show
-
I think we'll probably get about 6 songs from the new album.
Jordan better set that vocoder up! (Room 137 being a possibility makes me so happy)
-
I'd be a pretty happy camper if they do play 6 songs from the new album, any 6 songs, this album is fuckin amazing.
-
At Wit’s End MUST be played!
-
I'm starting to get into AWE, and that and/or PBD would be amazing. Those are the 2 off D/T that I would really love to hear live. Granted, I love the whole album and will love whatever they play
-
I know they said that they aren't doing this, but after hearing D/T, I wish they would just play the whole record front to back for the first set. Take a break, and then play SFAM with something cool as the encore.

Agreed, my initial reaction from the SFAM anniversary announcement was that this would be better served in a second leg - but at the same time I don't want to dampen the anniversary concept, as there are plenty of albums that I hope get this treatment. FII, I'm looking at you!

Please, no.

Please, no.
I'm looking forward to a tour withOUT an anniversary/full album treatment. The last five tours have had some sort of anniversary portion of the setlist.
2014 - 2nd half of Awake + Scenes encore
2015 - 30th Anniversary setlist (1 song from each album played chronologically)
2016 - The Astonishing full concert
2017 - Images & Words set
2019 - Scenes From a Memory set
I'm done with it. Just play songs from every album in random order from now on please.
-
I agree Kev.
-
And that's not really to complain. Without those sets, I probably would never had heard Space Dye Vest, Lifting Shadows, or many of the Astonishing songs. I also am looking forward to finally seeing Regression and Through Her Eyes on the upcoming tour. And they did throw some gems into the "non-anniversary" parts of the sets, like To Live Forever and The Shattered Fortress. So, I still enjoyed those concerts immensely. I just remember what it was like to go into a show completely blind and be surprised with every song they played. The last time that happened was 2012, which is quite long ago at this point. Hopefully I'll get that feeling again before the band retires :P
-
I used to be 100% certain that Untethered Angel would be the opening song on the setlist. But the more I think of it, the more I think it could work as the opener to the encore...
... with Pale Blue Dot opening the concert proper!
It's pure guesswork, but just trying to imagine it is amazing.
Whatever the order, I'm pretty sure PBD is making the cut...
Less than a month to find out! (I promise I'll adhere to spoiler rules so as to avoid spoiling the fun for US and European concertgoers, though)
-
OK, here goes!
Set 1:
Untethered Angel
Paralyzed
Surrender to Reason
Erotomania
Voices
The Silent Man
Fall Into The Light
The Killing Hand
A New Beginning
Pale Blue Dot
Set 2:
Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory
Encore:
The Glass Prison
-
For those who are following Jordan’s Facebook, he made 2 videos playing parts of 2 songs off the new album, while practicing for the new tour. One is totally a safe bet here and the second, predictable, but not so sure.
FITL and PBD
-
Giving it another shot. I Removed At Wit’s End based on what Bosk said...
Fall Into the Light
Surrender to Reason
Untethered Angel
S2N
Take Away My Pain
Barstool Warrior
Erotomania
Voices
Pale Blue Dot

I don’t know how they can make a song like Wit’s End and not play it!
:'( ???
-
Somebody said that PBD would be a good concert opener. No freakin way, I would think the band would want to warm up with many songs before tackling that technical beast! I would think PBD would make a great final encore after the Scenes set.
-
Well,my personal tracklist wishlist ..
SET 1
Paralyzed
The Great Debate
Barstool Warrior
Never Enough
Panic Attack
S2N
Surrender to Reason
Dystopian Overture

Stream of Consciousness
Pale Blue Dot

That'd be very coooool!

I'm starting to think that could be quite likely.
SFAM is, by album, 77 minutes long. Add the pauses (even though there won't be many), some different endings like Through Her Eyes and Finally Free, and you reach at the very least 85 minutes, 90 if they add a solo spot somewhere like it happened before Through Her Eyes back then. After such a long album performing as encore a bigass epic like Octavarium or a complex, relentless piece like The Glass Prison would be tiring for the band. Pale Blue Dot could work well as a single song encore.
-
Or just plain Pull me under. ;D
-
Or just plain Pull me under. ;D
Well, in the economy of the set, it works well on paper to follow up one of their most acclaimed albums with their defining classic song as encore. But, given how many times we heard the song and the recent Images and Words tour, how about no ;D

Despite the popularity and importance of Pull Me Under, I will always believe Dream Theater's "defining classic song" is Metropolis Part 1.
-
Metropolis, Pt. 1 would make the most sense, considering they’re playing all of Meteopolis, Pt. 2.
-
Metropolis, Pt. 1 would make the most sense, considering they’re playing all of Meteopolis, Pt. 2.
As someone suggested earlier, they should start the (second) set with Metropolis pt. 1 and then going straight into Overture 1928, like it happened some times in tour and since anyway they wrote Overture 1928's beginning with the end of Metropolis in mind, obviously on purpouse. Ok, you'd skip Regression but I bet hardly anyone would complain.
-
I would say Pull Me Under is the defining song of their career (let's face it, most of us probably wouldn't be on this forum talking about them right now if that song wasn't a hit for a quick second), but Metropolis Part 1 is their defining song to their fans.
I wouldn't mind them playing Metropolis Part 1 as the closer of the first set leading into SFAM, but that's honestly probably the only context I'd like to see them play anything off of I&W after giving it the anniversary tour treatment last round.
I don't think Pale Blue Dot will be in the encore because both the ambient intro makes it work as the first song for an encore set and the rest of the song works as a proper last song, but I don't think they'll do that short of an encore and I think it doesn't work as well as part of a pair of songs for an encore.
-
If Untethered Angel Paralyzed Fall into The Light Barstool Warrior Room 137 S2N At Wits End Out of Reach Pale Blue Dot and Viper King aren’t played I will be bummed... :metal..Seriously tho...PBD BSW AWE S2N must be played and my wish would be Illumination Theory as Encore after SFAM

There isn’t a lot of extra room for “other” songs after SFaM and however many D/T songs they play. So I would like songs they haven’t played recently. No PMU, Met1, AIA.
-
I hope there’s no IAW songs or AIA. They’ve been played A LOT in the last few years. TSCO too, but they’re playing SFAM in full, so...
-
I agree. No I&W songs and no As I Am or Breaking All Illusions. Need rest for those

Yup. Next time Pull Me Under is played, it should be the original demo version featuring the Erotomania instrumental section in the middle. Mix it up a little.
-
S2N is a lock in my opinion, it's just built to be a live song. The pauses scream 'drum solo goes here' and the keyboard solo near the end screams Zen Riffer. I think they'll play it and they'll rock the hell out of it.

I don't think they are going to play anything off of Images and Words given that they just spent a year playing it in entirety.

Is it true that JP said in an interview that the setlist might vary slightly from night to night? If so is there a link to that interview?
-
JLB said that this could be a possibility for this tour on a recent brazilian interview (Roadiecrew magazine), but they were still thinking about it at the time. My bet is that it will have some rotation, like aDToE tour, to let them play almost all of D/T.
-
I hope they release a Blu Ray or album. It's been too long!
-
It’s gonna go down something like this:
Untethered Angel (obvious opener)
Panic Attack
Our New World
Surrender to Reason
Fall into the Light
Barstool Warrior
6:00
Breaking All Illusions
At Wits End (with extended Petrucci solo) - will definitely close out the first set
Scenes From a Memory
Heavy on D/T with one Astonishing song thrown in, one from D12, a couple classic fan favorites, and then Scenes.
Not sure what “classics” they’ll do but we can probably eliminate anything relatively long, anything penned by Portnoy, or anything from IAW or the last half of Awake. I would bet money that Panic Attack is going to show up, it’s relatively short, a fan favorite, they haven’t played it in awhile to my knowledge and it’s a Petrucci song if memory serves. Peruvian Skies night show up. They seem to like going back to FII lately.
-
The only time I saw a "mosh pit" during a DT show was during the Along for the Ride tour, while they were playing "Strange Deja-Vu" 3 teenagers started a mosh-pit that lasted about 15 seconds.
-
The one I was referring to lasted pretty much the entire duration of Pull Me Under. :metal
-
SFAM
Metropolis Pt 1
The Mirror
Just Let Me Breathe
Acid Rain
Caught in a New Millennium
Another Day
A Mind Beside Itself
LTL
ACOS

Tried to mosh a few times when I saw DT open for Maiden. I believe Constant Motion and Home. Tiny pit... BUT IT HAPPENED.
-
There are plenty of mosh pits at DT concerts . . . in our heads :metal
-
We have to figure out a way to mesh without a GA. :justjen
-
we can probably eliminate . . . anything penned by Portnoy
Why? With the obvious exception of the tour for TA, they have regularly played songs for which MP wrote lyrics.
I would bet money that Panic Attack is going to show up, it’s relatively short, a fan favorite, they haven’t played it in awhile to my knowledge and it’s a Petrucci song if memory serves.
Gotta love a band for whom 8:13 is a 'relatively short" song.
FWIW, PA is DT's 45th longest song (including SDOIT and ITPOE as single songs and not including non-album tracks other than ACOS), so it's actually a bit above average (although that's partly because all but three songs on TA are shorter than 6:00).
-
I can't believe some setlists posted in this thread don't have Pale Blue Dot included. This as an ABOMINATION I tell ya!
PBD = :metal
-
I think PBD is very likely. My opinions on which songs will be played have not changed.
-
I would bet money that Panic Attack is going to show up
I might take that bet. How much we talking?
-
PBD has become my personal favourite on the album, so I'd be very happy if they were to play that one live.
-
I think PBD is very likely. My opinions on which songs will be played have not changed.
Considering Jordan has posted videos of himself practicing parts of PBD on Facebook, I think it's a given that they will play it. I also think it's a given that they'll play the three singles they've released, with at least "Untethered Angel" getting played every show. If they do an A/B rotation like they did on the ADTOE tour, where they play certain new songs on A-nights, and others on B-nights, then I can see them swapping "Barstool Warrior", "S2N" and/or "Fall Into The Light" as they are all about the same length. Same goes for "Room 137" and "Paralyzed".
If they go about trying to play EVERY song live this tour, I can see them playing UA, AWE, and PBD at every show - it's their lead single, the centerpiece epic, and the closing epic/technically challenging song, all types of songs that they typically play live when touring a new album. I do have to wonder if they'll pull out "Viper King", though... I can see them swapping it with "Room 137" as alternates, they both have a swing-rock feel and are 4-4.5 minutes each.
-Marc.
-
Bosk, can I ask why you don’t think At Wit’s End will get played?

As far as Portnoy songs, it’s a numbers game. I’m going to go out on a limb and say they prooobably won’t play any of the 12-Step suite. They did Shattered Fortress on the 2014 tour and I think they’ll let all that rest for awhile. They probably won’t do anything too personal to Portnoy like Honor Thy Father or Best of Times. Statistically, it’s just way less likely to happen. Not impossible, just less likely.
In regards to PA technically being longer than average; yes, that’s true statistically. But if you take out TA, and take in account that most of their “short” songs really aren’t particularly well regarded (You Not Me, anyone?), I would guess PA starts moving closer to the average.
As you can see, I’ve given this waaaay too much thought. And I may be completely way off in my guesses.
-

Depends on what odds you’re giving me :lol

I strongly disagree with your reasoning. They have played quite a few songs with Portnoy lyrics since his departure, including ACOS and, as you mention, one of the 12SS songs (actually, TWO of them--they also rotated TROAE on the ADTOE tour). Other than probably TBOT, I think pretty much any MP-lyric song is just as likely as any other to be played on tour. Personally, I would be shocked if The Glass Prison didn't show up in the next few years.
-
Bosk, can I ask why you don’t think At Wit’s End will get played?
Yeah, here is what I posted in another thread:
Well, here's my thinking: Assuming they don't play the entire album (other than Viper King), I think there are obvious reasons why other songs get played ahead of At Wit's End. The three promo singles are likely to get played because they are the three promo singles. Barstool Warrior probably makes the cut because the band seems fond of that one, and it is the one sort of "classic prog rock" track on the album. I think Room 137 makes the cut because Mangini and James are REALLY fond of that one. I think Out of Reach is likely as the one "ballad." JP and MM love Pale Blue Dot (and I suspect Jordan does too), and I think it is likely to get good audience reaction. So that leaves S2N and At Wit's End as the two that are perhaps most likely to be omitted this time around unless they play more than 7 songs from the new one. This is by no means conclusive (I haven't seen the set list, and I do not intend to before the show). But just my best guesses based on the info we have from interviews and such.
It's my favorite song on the new album. But I just don't see it being played this time around.
-
Heads will explode all over this forum if At Wit's End is not played at the first show next week. :lol :lol

PBD will be played for sure. Jordan posted a couple of vids of him rehearsing various sections of that song and he said, it will be ,,killer to play live on the tour"
-
Yeah, that too. Pretty much everything points to that one being played. And other than fan reaction, everything else from the band's perspective seems to point to At Wit's End not making the cut for the tour. That isn't to say they don't think highly of the song. I know for a fact that they do. It just makes less sense from a set list construction perspective than at least probably 5, 6, or 7 of the other songs on the album.
-

I get that. I’ve had that feeling about S2N since this discussion started.
-
It would be a shame if At Wit’s End doesn’t show up. It’s becoming my favorite song on the album, and I’m not the only one. It’s trending HARD on Spotify.
-

Well...sure, as a pure matter of numbers/statistics, during the time MP was in the band, JP wrote more than twice as many lyrics than MP (and he obviously has written zero lyrics since leaving the band), so when you also factor in the handful of lyrics written by JLB, JM, KM and CD, the likelhood of getting an MP lyric among the 5-8 non-DOT and non-SFAM songs that will be in the set are not high. However, I don't agree that we "can probably eliminate" the possibility altogether (anymore than we "can probably eliminate" getting a song with a JLB, KM or JM lyric).
I think we can, however, eliminate a few songs from consideration. I don't think DT will ever play TBOT, and I think we can also assume they won't play ACOS or any part of it on this tour, simply because of the length and the fact that it was played on the I&W&B tour. I also think Repentance is unlikely (for this tour or any other), but that might just be wishful thinking on my part. Other than that, I think just about anything is a possibility, and I've seen a bunch of posts here talking about The Glass Prison being a strong possibility (although that's nothing but fan speculation).
Beyond that, all I can say is that I'm glad I only have to restrain myself from looking at the set list for two days. The problem is that I'm going to the show with a guy who isn't a big DT fan and who has said he will be looking at the set list ahead of time.
-
PG...im in the same boat as you. Only, I have to wait 6 days. My friend is likely gonna look at the set, and give me little hints or say "you're going to love the set."
I really don't mind hearing TSCO, even though I heard it for the recent 2 tours. What makes it special is hearing it in album context. Hearing the lovely One Last Time transition into the opening piano chords and the last chord transition into The Therapist speaking in Finally Free will make me want to cry.
-
I'm fine with the band skipping "At Wits End" for this leg. Totally, absolutely fine. Song is okay, but far from a highlight on the album for me. I'm hoping the forum explodes because a surprise catalog song sneaks into the set. Still in recovery from Don't Look Past Me.
-
You guys are crazy if you think they're playing any more than 3-4 from D/T on this run. They didn't play 3 songs from DT12 on that entire tour but played them on later tours (except S2R obviously) so it shows that they're willing to leave songs out to play them on a later tour. Which is smart, because it extends the lifetime of the album in the fan's minds and setlists. Plus, they're already playing an entire album and played an entire album last tour so they're going to want to stick in a more varied back catalog selection. Surrender to Reason and The Glass Prison are almost guarantees if the fanbase's setlist wishes are taken into account. And there was a mention of an Awake nod, which based on their previous Awake selections on the last few tours, basically leaves A Mind Beside Itself as the obvious choice (doubt it will be Innocence Faded or Caught In A Web). Add in an FII song (they seem to always put that album into the setlists so I'm guessing they actually like it quite a bit), and probably a few token songs from the rest of the albums that haven't been mentioned, and that's that.
-

I don't overly disagree with the directly you are suggesting as far as Awake's representation. But although I could end up being mistaken, I'll go on record right now as saying that I think it is VERY unlikely that they would play the whole AMBI suite. One of the songs from it? I think that is pretty likely. But I doubt we'll see all three.
But I do think you are wrong about only 3-4 songs from the new album. I don't think they have EVER limited themselves to 3-4 songs from an album on the initial support tour for that album (save maybe Six Degrees and BCSL, which both had only six songs, and very LONG songs at that). Disregarding the unique nature of The Astonishing, on the tours supporting the last 2 albums before that, which also each had 9 songs, they averaged 6 per show on the opening N.A. tour legs, and those songs were, on average, longer.
-
You guys are crazy if you think they're playing any more than 3-4 from D/T on this run.
Quoting this so we can revisit it in a week. ;)
Oh, and they played five songs from DT12 on that tour (Enemy Inside, Looking Glass, Enigma Machine, Along for the Ride and Illumination Theory).

:hifive:
Week-and-a-half for me, since I'm going to try to stay away from set list spoilers until after my show. I specifically asked JP to avoid any spoilers (although he did tell me one song anyway).

Beg pardon?
Just looking at the show I attended (4/19/14 in L.A.), they played False Awakening Suite (recorded as the intro, and I don't think this has ever been played live, so maybe it doesn't count), The Enemy Inside, The Looking Glass, Enigma Machine, Along for the Ride and Illumination Theory. Even if you don't count FAS, that's 5/9 songs representing 68+% of the album's running time.

I'm prepared (and would be thrilled) to be proven wrong since I want to see as much of D/T as possible in Philly, but they also didn't play an entire 80 minute SFAM on their DT12 tour so setlist space is at a premium. I maintain the idea that this is NOT the main D/T tour and that they will do another US leg in the fall which will be the official tour with a normal setlist containing a large portion of the new album. They're not going to play a majority of it now when they can spread the songs out to get fans to attend multiple legs. This current tour is all about SFAM.

I don't overly disagree with the directly you are suggesting as far as Awake's representation. I don't think the whole AMBI is a stretch, but perhaps just Voices or Erotomania then.
My prediction is something like this:
Untethered Angel
Surrender To Reason
Paralyzed
Lost Not Forgotten (or Outcry)
Barstool Warrior
Lines In The Sand (probably not this one but who knows, they just seem to love FII songs)
Fall Into The Light
Erotomania
Voices
The Silent Man

Folks, it's been a blast but it's time for me to avoid the forum for a little while. Just on the off beat chance I spoil something for myself before I see the show :)
Be back April 10th!

Im waiting till next week. And at that mainly the Dream Theater side. And the MP/Sons Of Apollo/Neal Morse threads.

Yeah, I’ve had multiple spoilers when reading threads on the other side the past few tours. So I’ll be gone for about two and a half weeks myself. Wicked pumped for the tour to start though!

Thought this was just a thread for speculation, that’s all. I need to stay clear of this thread from 3/20-3/30

Same here. Going with 3 other friends as well. Finalizing everything pretty much then its just the waiting game.

My new theory on which D/T songs will be played. If you watch the Track by Track videos on YouTube, Petrucci only appears in six of them. Untethered Angel, Paralyzed, Fall Into the Light, Barstool Warrior, Room 137 and Pale Blue Dot. Those are what they’re playing.

Let's save this post and see if it comes true when the tour starts, at least after 3 shows, just in case they have a rotating A/B(/C) set list, cuz ya know, WWRD and all...

I'm just hoping the SFAM anniversary thing is only for this year (or the first few tour legs for this year) and that they do a full D/T tour later, hopefully playing the rest of the album.
-
I'm considering they'll play 5-6 tracks from d/t, varying some of them every night. Maybe that way they end up playing the whole album. Just don't know which songs could be alternated, but it's possible, isn't it?
Specially given the fact that some of the songs are really short, like Paralyzed, Room 137 and Viper King.

I postulated this exact thing on the previous page. If you look at my post (https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=53455.msg2531799#msg2531799), you can see how I think they might do alternating set lists, swapping songs of similar length each night, that way the first set could stay a near-consistent length and they wouldn't have to worry about going over curfew at venues.

I'm enjoying the new album so much. I'm fine with them playing them both back to back. One thing I think that would be awesome: playing Metropolis pt1. as an introduction to SFAM. Oh, and a surprise at the end, one of the 20 min epics would be nice (altough some of them would not be so much of a surprise).
-
Are we going to openly discuss the setlist(s) here after the tour starts?
??? Why wouldn't we?
Well historically we haven't been discussing set lists for on-going tours here, they'd be in the Concerts section. For the people who want to avoid spoilers.

If by "here", you mean on these forums, sure, but if you mean "in this thread", it seems like the title denotes that this thread is only for speculations and wishes, rather than discussing actual set lists. The Concerts section has definitely spot lighted specific set lists from specifics shows, as well as tracking on-going lists and changes throughout the tour, so I think that subforum should continue that historic trend, rather than have it bleed into here where people might not want to be spoiled.
Heck, we already know what half of the show will be, so I'm sure most fans will want to avoid being spoiled by the other half of their concert!
-Marc.
-
I am lucky that I only have to survive through 3 days of avoiding spoilers before I see them. I hope we don't get anything spoiled outside of the DT side between the first show and Friday lol

I'm seeing them in 6 days, so I guess only 4 days of avoiding spoilers for me.

Holy crap, I haven't had the opportunity to fully digest the new album and I'm the first date of the tour :(. The setlist would be of course, heavily based on Scenes without a fact. Also, as already pointed out, some of the songs on the new album are extremely short so therefore I would not be surprised to see 5 to 6 songs from the new album in the first set. For what songs would be played from the back catalog, that's is just a massive guess game IMO (that's the whole point though!!), we won't know until we hear it. Dammit, how I wish that SD was the first night of every band I see live, seeing bands completely blindfolded is so exciting and makes the experience even better. Since speculations are fun I'll share my take! My apologies, I'm not too familiar yet with the new album, college has been weighing a little on me, and I can't really study with music anymore, I get really distracted.
1. Unearthed Angel
2. The Glass Prison
3. New Song
4. New Song
6. New Song
7. Blind Faith
8. New Song
9. Metropolis Pt. I

I've gone on record as saying which songs from d/t I think we'll get, and the fact that Fall Into the Light will likely be the opener. Beyond that, let's see... I think it'll be a 2-song encore, with one song from the new album (probably PBD). I think we'll get Voices and Lie from Awake. Beyond that, I don't know.

I wouldn't say "better" because I prefer a complete song rather than an instrumental. And if we were going to get a second instrumental in the set list (we know we are getting TDOE), I would prefer a better one. But that said, even though I would prefer something else, I wouldn't mind Erotomania at all. And it might make sense to have a second instrumental in the set to give James a bit more rest.

We just got Lie two tours ago! Why two songs from Awake?

I can see PBD being a good encore opener, they can use the intro snippets as a tape. No idea on the final song though.

Pale Blue Dot into Octavarium. It sounds so good back to back and would be an amazing encore.

They'd need to resurrect most of the fans after an encore like that :lol

If they play a second instrumental, I would hope for SoC, and then Erotomania would be my second hope. With that being said, I really also hope to see Erotomania into Voices. Fuck it... 3 instrumentals.

Scenes has two instrumentals - Overture 1928 and The Dance of Eternity. Technically. ;)

Yeah, very true. I wasn't thinking about that one, but you're right.
-
So, the tour starts tomorrow. Are we safe to post all the setlist spoilers here or should we create a new thread for that?
-
I have to wait a month, but the spoilers don’t bother me that much. I like knowing the set list before hand. I’m thinking we’ll get Voices and maybe Erotomania.
-
Since this thread is specifically about the set list, I think people should assume that there will be spoilers. Unless you all prefer that this thread be kept spoiler free, in which case I can change the title to reflect that. In fact, I think I'll just do that because I'm sure people will prefer that.
EDIT: Okay, I created a new thread, changed the title of this one, and added this to the initial post:
EDIT by bosk1: **PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD SPOILER FREE!** This thread is for predictions, speculation, and other spoiler-free discussion. If you want to discuss actual set list or tour spoilers, go here: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=53619.0

I want me some Count of Tuscany of In the Name of God as the encore

Does the NO SPOILERS include the special set they are playing? :lol
Also, Bosk, in all seriousness is it possible to request a Temp Ban from the DT side until after Friday? :rollin

So if there is NO encore after SFAM... that would make it 2 tours I've seen them where they finished with Finally Free :lol
-
I think it would be cool if the last song of the first set was Metropolis Part 1, and after James sings "love is the dance of eternity" and the normal instrumental ending that John strums the ending of Cygnus X-1 and they put up on the video screen "TO BE CONTINUED ...."!
Yeah, I know.

Add in Room 137 to the first set, and put PBD at the end of the encore, and I think that is a VERY realistic guess.
-
Damn! Money and traffic concerns are making it doubtful for Friday's show but I am very excited to see. If they play the entire D/T that would be amazing!! Would love to hear Voices come back.
-
I think that would be an awesome set. It would be better if they played Awake tunes that haven’t been played during this era. Innocence Faded, Erotomania, Voices.
-

I wouldn't want to hear Erotomania. It's my least favorite of all their instrumentals. And to be honest, I don't know if James would want to do Innocence Faded, those high notes in the second verse are a killer, and I have a feeling he'd sing them lower, so it wouldn't be as cool as the performance on Score.
Voices, though, I'd love to see, even if he does sing some parts lower, like he did on Live Scenes From New York.

Oh man, if they played 6:00 as one of the Awake tracks in the first set I would be so happy.
-
I would love that setlist, mariner :tup
Can't wait to see them next month...
-
No At Wit's End????!!!!! That would be extremely sad to me.
Easily my favorite on D/T... I hope that setlist is not accurate for that reason.
Why would they play Surrender to Reason and not AWE?
At least we get all of SFAM no matter what happens.
-
Why would they play Surrender to Reason and not AWE?
For the sake of variety. They don’t wanna see play TOO much of the new album, gotta save some for later. Pale Blue Dot seems likely based off of hints by the band, and I don’t think they’d spoil us by playing both of the epics from D/T. Plus, StR has been wanted by the fan base for a while now.
-

Easily my favorite on D/T... I hope that setlist is not accurate for that reason.
Why would they play Surrender to Reason and not AWE?
Have you not been reading? I have explained in detail a few times why it is pretty much the least likely on the album to be played.
-
I must have missed it Bosk... can you explain again? Is it the lyrical content?
-
No. But just process of elimination. Without looking at the spoilers thread (my show is in 3 days, so I'm trying to keep spoiler free, other than knowing SFAM and one other song that is NOT in the set), I think we can pretty safely say that they will play the three promo singles. That's as safe a bet as any. Then we just take a look at which ones the band have talked about and hyped up the most. Not coincidentally, I think the next three would be the next three track-by-track videos in order.
Pale Blue Dot--They've all really gushed about that AND Jordan said he was rehearsing it. This one is DEFINITELY in.
JP, James, and Mike have ALL gushed about Room 137. They love it. And if you think about it, a song like that is pretty likely to go over well in a live setting as just a fun, straightforward sounding rocker.
Barstool Warrior--they are really proud of that one, and other than the ballad, it is the one non-metal song that showcases more of the prog side of their sound. Pretty sure that's in.
If they only go six songs, I think the only way one of the last two I mentioned does NOT get played is if they continue their trend of featuring a ballad from their latest album, which would get Out of Reach in as the token ballad (also possible if they go 7 songs deep rather than 6 from the new album).
So that just leaves S2N and AWE by process of elimination. I know they are proud of both of those songs, and I am very confident we will see them eventually. But I am pretty confident we will not see them this time around.
EDIT: Of course, since they've now played a show, anyone can double check and see whether I am right or wrong by seeing what they actually played. So I guess I'm going to have to stay away from these kinds of threads altogether.
-
Thanks Bosk, appreciate the response.
-
:tup
It happens to be my runaway favorite song from the album, so I wish it were more likely. But it is what it is. When a band has this many amazing songs, they can't play them all.
-
Right there with you... my favorite DT song since 6DOIT.
-
I am in the camp where I would have been perfectly fine with them playing D/T set one, and SFAM Set 2 and maybe a single song Encore. So them possibly not playing AWE hurts just as much as any other song getting left off from the album (Not including Viper King, which is a really fun song but I don't expect to see it live).
Gahh the temptation to check the setlist is really strong right now.
-
It's my favorite too, but there is no way ever I could be disappointed in one of their shows.. Makes me super hopeful about a 2nd leg and perhaps that and S2N come up then (Ocatavarium???) I have a lot of catching up to do in seeing them live since I have only been in for 3 years. My 4th concert in ONE Day!! I cannot contain my hype!!! :metal :metal :metal I am a great sleeper and usually retire about 10ish. Awake until 3am last night...tonight flying to LA......got my outfit ready...
Bosk, how are you so sure about FItL being the opener?? If I may ask :)
-

Just because it really fits the M.O. for how JP likes to open concerts.

Well, we just had our first temp ban for someone not observing the "no spoilers" tag on the thread. The post has been removed, but sorry to those that may have seen it. It's frustrating that so simple a request cannot be honored by some.
-
Glad I missed it.
Anyways. It's also a bit hard on Facebook being a part of the DTF Facebook group. Not really, but almost got spoiled. Although I did ask my friend one song. He didnt tell me the song, but said what album its from.
Going to be great hearing the first song not knowing what it'll be.

For sure...especially with folks asking about the set list and what not.
Eight hours to show time. The urge to check on the set list is strong. I'll be leaving the office and meeting friends for dinner. Once I'm out of the office, the temptation will be removed.

I saw that article and stayed clear of even opening the link. I knew they were going to have spoilers in it, because they're Blabbermouth.
I have to say, very happy that I avoided spoilers before going to see this. Those of you still holding out... HANG IN THERE!
Glad to hear this.

Ugh I'm trying. April 29 & 30 for me.

I would not be able to wait that long lol

I envy your guys patience. Every Rush tour I'd say I'll be surprised but nope I'd be online getting the set list as it happens.
-
I dunno why but I don't feel like knowing the setlist spoils much for me, it's weird. I avoid looking at the stage set up and won't watch any videos whatsoever before my show but I don't mind knowing the setlist.

Completely agree... I try to avoid videos and Stage setup but like knowing the setlist. The last thing I want to deal with is slight disappointment for a song being played. Especially when it’s likely going to be amazing live anyways. I like to be prepared for what’s coming.

Yeah, I'm definitely okay with knowing. But it was nice going into this one and getting to have a few surprises.
So...anyone interested in hearing my updated predictions now?

Show is today. So fucking excited. My friend is asleep and I'm here in the restaurant of the hotel enjoying a few and getting food.

Hi, I don't want spoiler but I would like to know if they are rotating the setlist in the first set.. can anyone answer?
Thanks
-
There’s only one part of the set list that’s been getting rotated it seems

So it was just announced that Vola will be supporting DT in the shows in Berlin and Dresden. Will this mean we don't get an Evening With show with the whole Metropolis?
-
Those are pretty much all festival dates and I doubt any of them will feature all of the stuff that's being performed in North America at the moment. Maybe bosk or someone could confirm or deny this.
-
They're doing mostly festivals in Europe this year (I guess they'll do a full headliner tour there next year), so it'll most likely be a shorter setlist for you guys.
-
Petrucci has confirmed they are NOT doing SFAM during the European tour. They might come back for the second leg and play it, but I am not sure.
-
How many songs in the first set?

How many songs in the first set?
**NO SPOILERS ALLOWED**
If you want to know that, ask in the appropriate thread.

Between 1 and 50.
I think answering that is a spoiler :JayOctavarium:
-
How many scenes in set two? ;)
