I love that debut album, it reminds me of being in 4th grade and listening to Anarchy in the UK on the Tony Hawk 4 soundtrack. Johnny Rotten has always been an interesting figure to me as well, he says a lot I agree with and then he says a lot I don't. I just really like that album

The Sex Pistols' "value" is entirely historical, and I don't really care about that. Off the top of my head, I can only think of three Ramones songs ("Rock & Roll High School," "I Wanna Be Sedated" and that "hey ho let's go" song). R&RHS was kind of amusing back in the day, but they're all pretty crappy. Again, more of a historically significant band than one worth listening to.

I guess I'd pick the Ramones if I absolutely had to make a choice, but my real choice is neither.

This. I respect the fact that they influenced a TON of bands in a lot of different genres, but their music (and mostly punk in general) just isn't my interest and doesn't do much for me.

Though that first Sex Pistols record is better than it should be. There's some good riffing on that. The Ramones are a cute joke (though I love that song "We Want The Airwaves".)
