Fuck's Sake Cancer... ::)
-
NOOOO!!! Man that is a same. RIP.
-
Only two weeks in and I have to say that 2016 sucks pretty hard so far.
-
Wow... another shocker.
Robin Hood, Die Hard, Dogma, Rasputin, and of course Harry Potter. Not to mention, the voice of Absolem. I'm sure there are plenty of others I forgot.

Not off to a great start.
Didn't know the name, but then I saw it was Hans Gruber. :( RIP.
-
He was amazing in Galaxy Quest.
" By Grabthar's Hammer....." ::)

And a career defining Sheriff of Nottingham in Prince of Thieves.

DAMN. How did I not make the connection? (well maybe the prosthetics). :(
-
Ironically - his character in Galaxy Quest was called Lazarus.

Because it's dull you twit, it'll hurt more!
:lol

*Paces around room - grabs knife and stabs the board several times. *
Witch : " something vexes thee ? "
-
:lol So many great lines in that movie.
Even as the bad guy you root for him because he's awesome.
-
Wow.
Lemmy, Bowie and then Rickman. Damn. Both bowie and Rickman were 69 and Lemmy died 4 days after he turned 70.
Rickman was awesome.
-
Very sad. He was one of my favorite actors. RIP.

Professor Albus Dumbledore: "Lily... after all this time?"
Professor Severus Snape: "Always."
I can't say I knew a lot of his acting background, but goddamn, Snape was by far the most moving character in any movie I've ever seen, what a heartbreaking performance in the last movie, and you can't help but agree with his every move and feeling in the whole series after seeing it.
R.I.P.
-
Damn, he was an incredible actor. Snape was my favorite but he was also great in all of the other movies listed so far. I also loved him Sweeny Todd.
RIP
-
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
-
He was great in Dogma
-
Fuck you cancer, that's all I want to say.
-
That sucks, he was a wonderful actor.
RIP
-
Well, 2016 is really biting the big one so far
-
What the hell? RIP Alan.
-
What the hell? RIP Alan.
^ That.
Shoot the glass.
-
:omg: really shocking news... thanks for all your great interpretations, there could be no better Snape. RIP Alan Rickman
-
Fuck. :'(
-
He's done a lot of great roles.
Kind of shame that many people will remember him only as Snape (although admittedly he was fantastic in that role - I don't think anyone else could have played it as well).
-

Don't forget Marvin; strangely a rather similar character to Metatron.
I've actually watched Die Hard and THGttG in the last two weeks. One great move and one piece of shit, but both great roles for him.

This and this. Awful news indeed.

:lol
It's not so much the line itself as the way he delivered it; his diction and enunciation.
Cancer touches all of us in some way.
-
Well damn. Thank you Alan for all the hard work and memorable roles over the years. I just finished reading the Harry Potter series, and ordered the BluRay collection. Will enjoy watching that once it comes in.

And John Hurt has pancreatic cancer as well.
-
Well said, Zydar.

That's the first quote that came to mind.

I never saw Marvin but now I'm curious.

Damn. Natalie Cole. Lemmy. Bowie. Brian Bedford. and now Alan Rickman?!?
2016 sucks already :-\
-
He was amazing in Galaxy Quest.
" By Grabthar's Hammer....." ::)
He was also very funny as the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland.

Absolem
-
Horrible. :(
-
Great actor and he also had an amazing voice.
I may be partial to those with low voices being a bass myself but damn Alan Rickman had a wonderful deep voice, no wonder he was a great fit for the Voice of God in Dogma. Only Christopher Lee was better in that sense. Charles Dance remains now in that field of low deep imposing voices.
-
Yes he did have an amazing voice, I loved him in Dogma, Die Hard and as Snape. A great loss. Yes a very shitty 2016 so far!
-
I have to admit, I had no idea who this was when I saw the story that he had died. I don't think I've seen a single film he was in (no, I never saw Die Hard).
-
Never seen Die Hard either. I would suggest starting out with Dogma, since the whole movie is absolutely funny and clever and he costars with a lot of great actors. Only Tarantino movies have a better quotable ratio than Dogma, it's golden from beginning to the end.
-
And is Kevin Smith's one and only half-decent movie.
-
I don't know how to process that.

I
okay
but
okay
-
If it makes you guys feel any better, I liked The Pick of Destiny.

wut
-
Yeah, we can't figure him out either. :lol
