Choose a team that you think will win their Week 1 game.
If your team wins, you move on to the next Week. If your team does not win, you're eliminated.
You must choose a different team each week. Once you choose a team, you may no longer use them for the rest of the Survivor.
You must submit your pick before the kickoff of the game that you're choosing. So the latest that you can pick is just before kickoff for the Monday Night Game (or the late MNF game in Week 1).
Here is the list of games for Week 1 Choose wisely.
(All times EST)
Thursday, September 10
Pittsburgh at New England
Sunday, September 13
Indianapolis at Buffalo
Green Bay at Chicago
Kansas City at Houston
Cleveland at N.Y. Jets
Miami at Washington
Carolina at Jacksonville
Seattle at St. Louis
New Orleans at Arizona
Detroit at San Diego
Tennessee at Tampa Bay
Cincinnati at Oakland
Baltimore at Denver
N.Y. Giants at Dallas
Monday, September 14
Philadelphia at Atlanta
Minnesota at San Francisco

First glance at the schedule, I see a lot of favorites on the road. Should be interesting.
-
LaVonte David can go eat a bag of dicks.
I'll pick a team later.
-
Miami
-
Count me in. Will make pick later.
-
KC.
-
Miami
Yeah, I'm going with this as well. Let's aim to make it until week 3 this year. At that rate, I'll be champ of this league in 15 more years.
After this pick, I might take the ABC strategy - Anyone But Chicago.
-
Dallas
-
Cincinnati
-
Gonna go with Miami
-
I'll take Seattle
-
I'll take Seattle
-
Being a Rams fan I should be ashamed....but.... Seattle.
Rams under Fisher have been habitual slow starters
-
going w/ miami. (to the tune of 'miami' by will smith)
-
Minnesota
-
I'm shocked that anyone is picking Seattle. To me, that's a dangerous pick.
New England.
-

New England
I'm not really shocked, but I'm not touching that one. St. Louis is greatly improved. I think NE is a risky pick too. Neither of them should be, but both their opponents are prime to be much improved.
For me, Tampa is the most dangerous pick. :lol

If I had any interest in winning a survivor, the absolute last thing that I would do is pick the road team of a tough division game, especially in this case, a team who knows Seattle well and has defeated them recently.
I take it a step further and avoid picking road teams in survivors, even though Miami over Washington looks like a slam dunk. New England over Pittsburgh looks to be one too. Brady's going to be a man on a mission, and he will absolutely destroy that Pittsburgh "Defense". Add the fact that Roethlisburger is missing 2 of his top weapons, and this is a no-brainer.
-
Cincinnati

I wouldn't count on Brady coming out hot. He certainly didn't last year, and this year he'll have more to contend with. He's also dealing with fewer receivers he has good timing with.

Not when you play the Rams. I'd pick several of the area high school teams over them. They are a mess and it's not gonna get any better.....
-
There aren't a lot of absolute no-brainers in week one. It's like the league tried to match up good teams with good teams and bad teams with bad teams.
I would probably go NE except that would cause a cheering conflict. Washington is such a dumpster fire that I'm going to go with Miami. LaVonte David isn't on the Dolphins, so he can't possible fuck me over again.
Mammal fish it is.
-
Miami as well.
-
In future yeas, everyone should just pick against me in week one. I'm sorry for calling you a dumpster fire Washington.

It's unreal. I mean, if anyone ever wants to make money gambling.....it's a safe bet to do the opposite of what I say. :lol I can't believe they beat Seattle....

They beat Seattle 11 months ago. Was this result really so unbelievable?

I suppose it's because the Rams have been a bipolar mess and just not very good for quite some time and the Seahawks are a much better team than them.
-
Seattle seems to have the yips with StL. I wasn't touching this game at all. Got real worried about Miami too, but thankfully they pulled it out.
-
I'm actually a bit surprised that Seattle doesn't go for the FG to tie there. Haushka (however you spell it) has the leg. Ball was on the 41...he had just kicked a 60 in preseason.

Well, when you've got the best RB in the league, and you only need 1 yard, you hand him the ball, right? ::)
-
Seattle ahead by 7 with less than a minute. Blown coverage on the Rams TD pass. Game tied at 31. Overtime. Pete Carroll makes bonehead call for onside kick. Doesn't get it. Rams kick FG. Lynch gets stuff on 4th down. Game over. Priceless.

This seems like about as safe a week as any to take New Orleans.

I'm going with New Orleans. I was torn between them and Pittsburgh, but SF played much better than I expected them to last night. Still expect Pittsburgh to win, but yeah..... not risking it.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Saints
-
New Orleans at home against Tampa Bay seems pretty safe because TB looked awful against a pretty weak opponent. I also like Pittsburgh at home off of an extended break versus a SF team that played Monday night and has to make the cross country flight to play an early game. Baltimore is also tempting just because of Oakland...and their backup QB.
Last week was mostly tough calls...this week has three solid choices.
-
St Louis
-
the only game i'm even close to 100% on is st. louis, so i guess i'll go w/ st. louis.
-
Tennessee
Gonna go with this, because the Browns are just that bad.
-
:justjen I'm just kicking myself right now for not taking that into consideration. Picking whoever plays the Browns every week is almost a lock.
-

ABC... Anyone But Cleveland.
-
Poor Cleveland...last year it looked like they were starting to get their shit together, then they bench Hoyer and it all collapses into a pile of shit again. Then the off season...I honestly feel bad for Browns fans. As a Pirates fan, I can empathize with an ownership that can't get its act together.
-
I keep wondering every year if this is the year that the Browns shock the world. It just never happens. Even last year when they hyped up Johnny Football in the off season, he turned out to be a flop. He just got his 1st TD pass of his career last week. :lol

Come on.. let's keep in mind he only had 35 passing attempts last year. It's not like he was the starter all year long and didn't throw for a TD.
I actually have Cleveland beating Tennessee in a close game. Could go either way... but just like the Seattle game last week.... TOO risky to consider taking in a Survivor pool.
-
Hey take it easy there big guy...I realize that DoC, but there was also a very good reason why he wasn't the starter for the entire season. Just having a little fun. Not a big deal.
-
New Orleans
-
I'm going with the Fighting black_floyds this week. New Orleans for the DTF challenged.
-
LOL Titans. Good call DoC, so far. Still another half to go...
-
What the hell is going on with the Saints?
-
Jesus Christ Saints .... You had one job to do.
-
So… everyone's eliminated in week 2? :rollin
-
So… everyone's eliminated in week 2? :rollin
I want to thank everyone who took so much of their free time to make this the most exciting, fulfilling game in DTF history. This Survivor has put all of the roulettes and even DT the League to shame. It's been an incredible run, but sadly, all things must come to an end. But alas, the 2016 season is JUST around the corner.
....or we can start a 2nd round in Week 3.

I'm reposting this because there were two turds in there. If only I would have went with my homeboys and rolled with Pittsburgh, I would have won this thing.
-
I can take solace in the fact that I tied for 1st place. YEAH!!!
-
:lol
-
Definitely some kind of record in futility.
I'm all for a re-boot.
-
I was in the ESPN Eliminator and I think 70% of the people playing in it were eliminated today. Amazing.
-
This was a surprisingly tough week to pick games. I'm definitely up for starting over. :lol
-
Funny, I scoffed at everybody picking NO simply because division games are not predictable enough for survivors such as this. Then Miami went out and blew theirs. Yeah, definitely a tough week for picking games.
-
Wow, I figured it would end early but not this early. :lol
I vote for a do-over.
-
Good grief.
-
They are also mentioning on TV about how a lot of NFL survivor leagues took a huge hit in the 1st couple of weeks. Only handfuls of people still alive in some of those pretty good sized leagues.

Arizona.

Handicap those people by allowing the week 1 eliminations to pick our week 2 turds?? They can have them! No way in hell I'm picking NO again if they can't even get past TB.

Patriots at home against the Jaguars seems as much of a lock as anything.
Actually, I'd be quite happy to jinx that game.

I'm going with Vegas....I'll take Seattle at home. Having played in that city I know that 12th man is louder than you can imagine, and they're pissed from getting stomped in the comeback by my beloved Bengals last week. Who Dey!
I'd take my awesome 'Nati team, but I don't want to jinx them. Besides, if I win this week, I'm taking the Bengals to stomp a new asshole in the Stillers of Shittsburg in 2 weeks. Hopefully Rapelisberger will be back for them to kick around then too.
Taking Seattle in this one.
-
Minnesota
-
I'd take Arizona, but I can't pick against my team.
I'll take Cinci versus a backup QB, although I won't be too upset if I get knocked out this week.

LOL Eagles. They actually won when I needed them to. Although, that game last night was like watching football follies. The way both teams played, the game should've ended in a tie at 0 - 0. :lol
