Sorry, but you really can't have that abbreviation here. :lol
Hmm, is the band streaming any complete songs free? I'd rather not buy in completely blindly. As a Dream Theater fan, you should be safe doing so!

aw, screw it, I bought the digital download too, the samples sound killer - I still want the physical CD though :hat
So i've listened to album 3 times and I do like it a lot.
Another Day slips by is very catchy and probably my favorite on the album.
Wow, this is great! 4 songs in and this will easily be in to Top 5 of the year.
The DT and classic Rush influence is so obvious.
johnny, where did you hear of them? Are you connected to them in any way?Wow, this is great! 4 songs in and this will easily be in to Top 5 of the year.

Good stuff, man.
Just listening to the previews on iTunes... this sounds AWESOME.
What is Voyage to the Star?
So I downloaded it from I-Tunes. I freekin' digging it and when it gets to the last tune, the 29 minute song, it's cut off 30 seconds into it! :censored
I sent an email to I-Tunes dammit!
Way too many respected DTFers stroking this album's shaft. Purchased, song unheard. Be back tomorrow with joy, or anger, though I'm pretty sure it will be the former.
The first 3 minutes of Another Day Slips By + everyone here circle jerking about it convinced me to buy it as well. I'll probably end up reviewing it for Nick.
Johnny, let us know when it's up. That should be awesome.
I listened to this album a couple of times last night.
Phenomenal. This band/album was a huge find.
Thanks.

pressure for sure...everyone's about to blow.
I don't see any arm-twisting happening here, just some people who dig some music recommending that other people check it out. (https://www.kirksnosehair.com/Portals/0/images/smilies/confused-smiley-013.gif)

its all my fault, I started this chaos ;D
Will the physical cop by available via amazon at some point, or is CD baby my only option? Either way I'll be buying.

Far as I know CD Baby is the only option. It works good, no worries. I'm trying to find out now if it is available on amazon too. When I get an answer, it will be posted.

Awesome. Can't wait for the video!!
Question... Amazon mp3 has another 4-song EP from Pyramid Theorem. When was that released? For $4, I can't think that it's not worth it.I thought Johnny said it was a 2008 demo. And it is definitely worth it.

It's just what hit me when I first listened to it, I don't knowwhy.
Loved the EP and debut, killer stuff! Anybody know any news on the rescheduled video shoot?

For anyone who ordered the CD from them. Is it a professional pressing or something burned on a disc? Is the liner/artwork worth it? Wondering if I should just get the digital download since a physical copy seems kind of hard to come by.

Science!
Just saw that CD Baby has physical copies back in stock. Mine is on its way :)
Got my copy in the mail last night. Gave it a spin and was very pleased. Better than what I was expecting. The song writing and compositions was far more mature than I expected from a debut album. This is a band to keep an eye on.
That's a coincidence. I came thisclose to listening to this today while cutting the grass. May have to hit it tonight.
Can't wait for the next album.THISSSSSS!!!!
:metal :metal
Be sure to get to the 29 minute The Dream!
This thread is only 5 pages. If you go through it, you'll see this album knock out one DTFer after another. :D
I just got a message from Samuel yesterday, gently busting my balls about how long it's taking to get our next album recorded. Samuel will definitely be adding some of his brilliance to this record. :metal

Now you gotta work on getting Daisa...
Listening again. Not sure why but classic Boston comes to mind.

I got an early Rush feeling about it.

Yes, that too. But that's obvious and why I really like them.
Just having a listen on Apple Music. Sounds great so but I'm not loving the vocals. Do they have a new singer? Doesn't sound like the same guy on Drive.
The opening 80 seconds was a bit of a mess (imo), but the rest was really good. The instrumentation in particular is exactly what I come to expect from you guys.
Great interview. I agree that the song Outlaw for Good is kind of a mess, but still love the playing.
How in the world are these guys not signed? I had wanted the interview guy to ask how do you support yourself? I guess the guys would have to have jobs and do this on the side.
This is a great band in need of a great frontman.

My word!
Boo-fucking-yah! Saw them when they played with S-X couple years back, and was hoping there might be a last minute addition again.
Giggity!
Hell yes!! :metal
Johnny... any chance they'll have some CDs at the show this week? If so....

Just preordered at Amazon. So psyched!

This fogey will be in bed. :lol
It'll be more like 8:01 for me.
So I've listened to it once. But these are my first impressions.
I actually found it less melodic. Yes, it is definitely harder edged.
But it seems to lack the charm of the debut. It's like, yes, we can play our instruments really well.
The track that reminds me of the last album is Lifeline. I love when they channel Hemispheres era Rush, as they do in this track. Reminds me of something Ray Alder would sing.
OK. Second listen..
This album is FUCKING :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal
I preordered on bandcamp but can't seem to access the download ???

M.E.A.T. magazine, haven't heard of that in a while. My band was featured in '93, we thought we were big-time. LOL.

I saw they had a new single on Spotify today. This makes me happy.
The fact that someone else posted it in this thread before you should've punched you in the gut! ;D :lol :) ;D :lol :)

Mixed by Richard Chycki. Isn't that the guy that butchered some recent Dream Theater albums?
Excellent album! Sad that these guys cannot break away and go on a proper tour with a well known headliner like DT if they scaled back and had an opening band again or maybe Tour with Haken.
Johnny Super Fan, what is the current information on the band. Are they with a label and If not why? They should be given the chance to make a decent living with this and see where it goes. Of course they may already have decent jobs and are content with where they are.
After loving the first album, I guess for whatever reason I didn't spend a ton of time with Element Of Surprise. I have it, and I'll have to revisit it.
Listening to Beyond The Exosphere and this is awesome. I'll have to wait until next month and get it with some birthday $$. But I am getting!
Yeah, I'm only halfway through Freedom, and this is fantastic.
I will have to wait until amazon music has this available in cd or digital. I used to buy from iTunes, but the last 3 albums I bought would not completely download to my iTunes library. Actually the titles downloaded, but some were blank for the music.
Wow, Intonate has a glorious ending.
Lots of Dream Theaterisms. And that's not a complaint.
Seems this drummer loves himself some Mike Portnoy.

TAC, since their debut album 8 years ago, what is your take on musically where they are today?

So what I really loved about their debut was their reverence to Hemispheres Era Rush. And while my initial comments about Elements Of Surprise were positive, I never revisited. Seemed like they tried to shorter songs, and honestly, I don't remember a thing about it.
After ONE listen to Beyond The Exosphere, the title track again nodded towards late 70's Rush.
I liked the songwriting on BtE. Especially Closer To the End, and while I did not care for the beginning of Freedom, it really turned into a cool song. And that outro to Intonate...WOW!
I like that there's some great melodic parts on this, but not at the expense of some longer passages, as EoS did.
But they went from straight out channeling Rush on the debut, to straight out channeling Dream Theater on BtE. I definitely look forward to another listen. I see they're on Bandcamp, so I'll order it on the next Bandcamp Friday.
Johnny, is this the same drummer?

I remember being mostly disappointed with it. I may fire it up this afternoon while mowing the lawn (not a euphemism).
Late to this party but glad I made it. Good stuff.
