Title: Album of the Year 1987 - nomination phase
Post by: KevShmev on July 30, 2011, 12:01:44 PM
Rules:
-Post your 5 favorite albums from 1987; the order does not matter.  If you only like less than 5, list those.  Just no more than 5.
-List the band name first and then the album name.  Like this: Band name - Album name
-If you change your mind, edit your original post.  Do not post them again.
-Only studio and live albums will be counted; no best of, compilations, etc.
-Posts that you do not follow these rules will not be counted.

Nomination phase will last two days.

George Michael...........Faith

Good album!  I think many forget how huge it was at the time.  It literally had six hits from it, five of which I think were pretty huge (with Kissing a Fool only being a minor hit, IIRC).

And I still need to get around to hearing all of Prince's Sign O' the Times one day.  The thought of giving him money just sickens me, though.

I'll second that motion.  This was probably the last album I liked from that genre, before fully and completely transitioning to hard and classic rock.

I never could get into GM.  Now that's not saying I didn't think some songs were good but it just wasn't my cup of tea.  I would much rather listen to Level 42.

Whitesnake - 1987 (self titled)
Guns n Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
Dokken - Back for the Attack

Pride was good, but I have to defer to either Crue's Girls, Girls, Girls, or Def Lep's Hysteria for my fifth choice.  I have no idea which one though.

I'm sorry sir, I'm going to have to revoke your rock license. You can hand it in at the counter, along with your hairspray and leather chaps.

Better schedule a trip to the doc to get your ears cleaned out.  ;)

Never had any hairspray OR chaps! :lol

Seriously, Def Leppard lost me at Hysteria. What a let down. I waited 5 years for this piece of crap!
And Girls...well at least it was better than Theater Of Pain.

Actually the Hysteria B Sides kill them both!
