First new episode of the season airs Wednesday!
Here's a clip:
https://www.southparkstudios.com/
Looks like it'll mostly be about the recent Apple craze. As a moderate Apple fanboy, I can't wait to see what they do with Steve Jobs. :lol
-
:metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal
-
I wasn't big on the last season at all, but I think the show still has a lot of potential. It's hard to tell how this next episode will turn out from the clip.
Basing it on a hybrid satire of Apple and a bad horror movie is certainty an interesting prospect. One that could go very wrong, mind you,
-
I have a feeling they'll make it work. Matt and Trey are great at taking bizarre, abstract concepts and building terrific stories around them. And I loved Season 14. I think the past few seasons have been strong.
-
Some episodes are meh, and some are absolutely hilarious. But overall, I think the past few seasons have been pretty consistent. Definitely enough to keep me looking forward to the next episode each time.
I won't be able to watch it until it's uploaded online though because I don't have cable hooked up at school.
-
Make sure you watch it on Thursday then. Due to some legal issues or whatever, they tend to upload them for one or two days, and then take them down for a few weeks due to "pre-exisitng contractual obligations."
-
Man, tomorrow season 14 is released on DVD, then the day after, season 15 premieres. Now that's what I call awesome.
-
What the hell did I just watch? :lol
Still excited about the new season, I hope that it will be more consistent than the last few ones.

new season is so nice.
-
They haven't had smart writing in years, especially with their satires. It's becoming more Simpsons with swearing than anything.
-
I don't see how you can think that, Orcus. The older seasons were known for being nothing but swearing and offensive humor. By contrast, almost every new episode tries to send some kind of message or get across some kind of point. It's definitely matured over time.
-
But the messages are so forced and blatant. The celebrity satires are pretty much animated TMZ sequences where they go for the most obvious jokes and leave nothing to the imagination.

Wait, what? Even last season had 200 and 201, which were pretty good. And going back the last few seasons have definitely had some smart episodes. Are you serious?
-
Yep. They've been running on cruise control for a few seasons now. They used to yield a half dozen great episodes a season but I couldn't enjoy any from the last one. I think I watched the first four or five and had to stop.
-
It is also a takeoff on the movie The Human Centipede.

I thought last season was hit or miss but the 2 seasons before were very strong.
-
Last season was awesome. They had 200, 201, The Poop That Took A Pee...
I read that 201 on the DVD is as it aired that night and that Matt and Trey aren't really allowed to comment on it very much. I hope Comedy Central takes the stick out of their ass and finally lets it air... I mean seriously. There has been a lot worse that has aired on tv.

I bought the DVD today, all geared up to see 201 as it was meant to be seen. Instead, I get it censored. On something I went out of my way to purchase in order to view privately in my home. Fuck Comedy Central, and fuck Muslim Revolution.

Ok, I'll give you that one. But I don't mind it much.
-
Who cares if its like that? It's not like every television show has to be some groundbreaking thing. South Park just does it better than everyone else imo.

Last season was hit and miss for me, but I'll still be watching!
-
This is already awesome :lol

Cartman's mom finally grew some balls!!!

I 100% agree. Hopefully soon they will release the uncensored version... but I don't see that coming in the near future. Remember, the DVDs are released by Comedy Central. I think there is some big legal thing going on that Matt/Trey and CC are duking out, but they are keeping it totally under the radar.
-
They are bleeping out the word shit
-
The episode was solid. Not exceptional, but I enjoyed it.
7/10
-
I MISSED HALF OF IT
FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
Downloading it now though.
-
... Did anyone else find that almost unwatchable?
-
Not unwatchable, but it was pretty stupid. Let's hope the whole season doesn't end up like this one.
-
The good of the episode outweighed the bad. The Cartman subplot, the joke about how no one reads license agreements, and the geniuses were all funny.
-
It just felt sort of uninspired. They reused the same two jokes for the entire episodes, and Cartman's swearing was the entire punchline of one.
Just saying the word "fuck" isn't funny; I disliked the KFC episode and the Somali pirate episodes for that reason, and it seems like there's more bleeps in every new show.
-
I only started watching South Park a few months ago, starting at Season 1 and working my way up (I'm just starting Season 8 now). That being said, I decided to watch the new episode tonight. It wasn't nearly as funny as the stuff in the seasons I've been watching. But what bothered me the most is that Cartman's voice seems to have changed. I don't know if it was a gradual thing between Season 8 and Season 15 or something, but there were a few times when he sounded exactly like Stan instead of his usual distinct voice.
-
Hmm. Well, Cartman's voice definitely used to be raspier. But as far as sounding like Stan, I have no idea what you're talking about. I've never noticed any similarity. Granted, Trey does both voices, so maybe you're picking up on something I'm not hearing. I've been watching since Season 8 started, so maybe I've never picked up on the kind of gradual change you're describing.
-
Again, I'm still new to South Park, but there's a definite difference in how he sounds in Season 8 compared to how he sounded in the episode I just watched.
-
I believe you. I'll have to do some comparisons later.
Something interesting related to this is Officer Barbrady. He was absent from the show for multiple seasons. Then when he came back for one episode (I believe it was "Erection Day"), his voice was completely different from how it was before. Apparently Trey had forgotten how to do his voice.
-
This episode was decent. Not great, not very good, but alright. The Cartman subplot basically saved it from being bad.
-
The Humancentipad plot was just disturbing. The only good part was how excited Cartman was about poop going into Kyle's mouth.
The Cartman plot was actually pretty funny. Not the stuff of legend, but basically perfect character-wise while getting an unexpected amount of mileage out of a simple joke.
-
The "fuck me" stuff was all gold, but the true greatness of the episode was them making fun of some of Apple's stupid shit. I wish they would have gone further and really ripped Apple apart instead of some passive jokes, but overall a pretty good episode.
-
I agree with you, Nick. I was expecting (and hoping) for there to be a subplot about Apple's fanbase turning into an actual cult. Or something along those lines.
-
Cartman was fucking hysterical in this episode. The rest was kinda meh. However, the asian guy was pretty funny too. Did anyone else notice Cartman's voice seemed way different.
-

Yeah, I mentioned that a few posts ago. Glad I'm not the only one.
-
Just watched it. Meh.
The whole "fuck me" part was hilarious at first, but got old since they kept using the same joke the whole show. The apple stuff was funny, but the human centipede wasn't funny at all, seemed like they were just trying to get another reference in the show.
-
Cartman's sub-plot was fairly amusing. Most of the episode was just stupid though. I say that as someone who hates Apple, and loves when they get ripped on. It just felt stale and lazy for the most part.
Also, Cartman definitely sounded different this episode. There were points where he literally sounded like Stan.
-
i only laughed 3 times...i love south park but recently it has lost some magic..still like it more than family guy though
-
i only laughed 3 times...i love south park but recently it has lost some magic..still like it more than family guy though
It's because they always try to work in something from current events instead of doing random shit such as:
Scott Tenorman must die
Cartman Land
The Sucubus
4th Grade
etc....
-
exactly...i like the more original material...the writing has gotten kinda lazy.the current event stuff kinda bores me.and i am so out of the loop that i dont even get what they are talking about most of the time..seasons 1-10 were genius...just like the simpsons
-
i love south park but recently it has lost some magic..
I feel the same, and I keep trying to place exactly what it is. The closest I can come is that in seasons 1-4, it was a much more insular world, and whatever happened, happened in South Park. Beginning in season 5, there started to be more episodes that happened due to outside influences. They kept a good balance for a while, but I feel that now, most episodes are "Look at this thing in the news, isn't it stupid?" whereas before, it was "Look at this interaction between townsfolk, aren't they stupid?"
-
The fact the Officer Barbrady, Ms. Crabtree, Chef, the real Mr. Garrison, and a few other characters are no longer on the show doesn't help.
-
Very valid points.
-
As valid as they are irrelevant. South Park is still hilarious, and if they were still doing the same things now as they did in season one I have no doubt some of the same people would be complaining that it is getting stale.
-
I don't take issue with how the newer episodes are being made. At the same time, though, I do yearn for the days when the show focused on the fictional town instead of the real world.
-
Cartman's voice has changed from this episode even from a couple of seasons ago. I miss his season 2 and 3 voice. That was the best.
Anyways, I love how Cartman's mom finally put down her foot his ridiculousness. It was awesome. My wife loved the "ahhh" part when the geniuses were "speaking" to each other.
All in all, an ok opener, but not the best. It just seemed a little stagnant. But I don't blame them, most of their energy has been putting towards their musical lately.
-
I enjoyed the episode. Didn't bust a gut too often, but I had a grin the whole time. For someone who felt Human Centipede was an overrated lousy film, this was a fun way to see the idea lampooned.
-
Meh could have been better.
-

of COURSE you hate apple. NOW it all makes sense. ;) LOL. First Von Trier now Apple. Ok you're going TOOO far Man!
-
Tonight's episode is pretty bad.
-
It had a lot of potential, but Funnybot kind of killed it. I love the Tyler Perry joke though.
-
Wow. That was...shockingly bad. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a new South Park episode. :-\
The Tyler Perry gag was ok, but damn...that episode completely sucked.
-
Yeah it was bad.
-
The end joke was great, but otherwise this was the worst South Park episode ever, even worse than A Million Little Fibers, which I've hated since day 1 so that's saying something.
-
Umm, west coast guys, havn't seen it yet.
-
Then I would certainly leave this thread until you have. :p
-
The end joke was great, but otherwise this was the worst South Park episode ever, even worse than A Million Little Fibers, which I've hated since day 1 so that's saying something.
I can safely put this episode in the "South Park Trinity of Shit".
A Million Little Fibers
Stanley's Cup
Funnybot
Three episodes I hope to never see again.
-
Two words. Pan. Demic.
God, I hate that episode.
-
U srs? The pandemic episodes are great! I love how Craig was given a starring role, and as always, Randy was amazing.
-
Pandemic and Stanley's Cup were both hilarious; I'd replace Stanley's Cup with Eat, Pray, Queef.
-

THIS. What a terrible episode.
-
wow, guys. I LOVED Eat Pray Queef. You guys suck.
-
wow, guys. I LOVED Eat Pray Queef. You guys suck.
You can stop living up to your sig now, buddy.
-
I'm just sayin'. This is the first I'm hearing of that episode being bad.
You can't tell me you didn't lol when that woman queefed the "road warrior" quote. :lol
-
Sure... it was the only time I did through that entire episode though.
And the ending was just unwatchable.
-
EPQ wasn't a great episode, but it's nowhere near the level of suck that A Million Little Fibers and this week's is.
-
Eat, Pray, Queef is a pretty sweet episode, especially the Martha Stewart scene.
I didn't think this week's episode was as bad as you guys seem to think. It had some funny moments, and I was genuinely freaked out when Funnybot unleashed on the audience and wasn't dead at the end.
-
It was worth it for the Doctor Who reference for me... :blush
-

A Million Little Fibers
Stanley's Cup
Funnybot
Three episodes I hope to never see again.
Excuse my Stanley's cup is one of the greatest episodes of any television show EVER. Might be my all time favorite south park episode. In my top 3 for sure and i've been watching since the pilot episode.
-
....I don't even know how to respond to that. I can think of nothing positive or redeeming about that episode.
-
It's one of my top episodes as well. What exactly was bad about it?
-
It's the only time I've ever actually been offended at South Park's tastelessness. For some reason, little kids with cancer struck a chord with me.
-
Wow, that episode was really bad. Good to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that.
-
Wow, that episode was really bad. Good to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that.
I didn't laugh once, probably the first time that has ever happened.
-
Well, would you look at that. EPQ is on right now. This is God's way of agreeing with me that it's an awesome episode.
-
I'd replace Stanley's Cup with Pip.
-
Pip was good. It was a bizarre concept to use an entire episode to parody a novel, but it worked.
-
I didn't smile once the whole episode.
-
It wasn't so much funny as it was entertaining.
-
It's the only time I've ever actually been offended at South Park's tastelessness. For some reason, little kids with cancer struck a chord with me.
I Hate You Coach.
-
Hey now, Pip was awesome.
-
Hey now, Pip was awesome.
Quoted for truth.
-
Yeah, I loved Pip. Plus, I got to learn about a novel I've never read!
-
Their summary of Great Expectations was actually pretty accurate till the end. I really like that episode. Especially since Malcolm McDowell has such a great sense of humor. :lol
-

"Hello, I'm a British Person."
-
Wow, the newest episode was horrible. Easily my least favorite SP episode ever.
-

"Hello, I'm a British Person."
I love that line.
-
watched the new episode. Wasn't great but their were some really funny parts. Especially the germans telling jokes. The fact that token was the only one laughing at Tyler perry and couldn't help it was funny as well.
-
Im like 8 minutes into the newest episode... It blows pretty hard so far.
*edit*
For the first time I stopped watching an episode of South Park.
-
I considered changing the channel near the end, but for some reason I forced myself to sit through it.
-
I didn't find the newest episode THAT bad, it certainly wasn't a gold episode, but I laughed a few times at fUnnybot.
-
What do you guys think the last "great" episode was?
-
Imagination Land
-
The three episodes that ended last season were all great.
-
The first one that comes to mind for me was "Medicinal Fried Chicken". I laughed my ass off the entire time, especially when everyone in town was bouncing on their balls. :lol
-
Imagination Land
This was the last "great" episode IMO. There have been a few very good ones since as well.
-
The three episodes that ended last season were all great.
Personally, I thought those ones were terrible. Well, they were very uninspired and generally boring, at least.
-
The first one that comes to mind for me was "Medicinal Fried Chicken". I laughed my ass off the entire time, especially when everyone in town was bouncing on their balls. :lol
Definitely a very entertaining episode. Randy was hilarious as he usually is, and Cartman's Scarface subplot was pretty great.
-
Crème Fraiche
-
Crème Fraiche
That episode was hilarious with the shake weight.
-
The shake weight was a bit overused imo. And the obsession with crème fraîche made me go :mehlin towards the end. Then again, I don't watch American cooking shows, so...
I really liked the Mysterion/Coon trilogy of the last season. The episodes weren't flawless, but they were quite enjoyable.
-

I have to agree with Z on this one.
-
The harley episode is one of my fav's of the last couple years. Pure genius. I also loved when Butters became a vampire. Another recent favorite.
-
I don't know about great, single episodes, but I think the last season that had more than a couple decent episodes was the twelfth. I enjoyed watching most of those episodes, but since then, the show seems to have lost a lot of consistency; in the past two seasons, the only episode I remember really liking was "The Ring."
-
Next episode:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Pudding
Based on that short summary, it sounds like it'll be better than Funnybot. It has to be.
-
It has to be.
Yeah, that's the most important bit, it's impossible to do worse.
-
Indeed. I knew Funnybot would suck two days before I saw it. The premise was destined to fail. This, however, looks like it has some promise.
-
They really need to do a non-topical episode.
-
Best part of last weeks SP episode. The German knock nock joke..
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"A cannibal."
"What?"
"You are about to die and be eaten."
"Asshole! I will murder you first!"
-
It has to be.
Yeah, that's the most important bit, it's impossible to do worse.
Don't jinx it.

No it really wasn't.

If any recent season of south park had been its first, it would have been cancelled immediately. buuuut it gets viewers so why not
-
South Park may be worse than ever, but it hasn't suffered as severe a quality drop as The Simpsons.
-
or Family Guy
-
Haters gonna hate.
South Park today wouldn't fully appeal to the same people that made South Park take off on day 1, but it's still a great show and would work out just fine if it came out today.
-
or Family Guy
I see how it's possible for them to suffer a quality drop as there was never any quality in the first place. ???
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doihYFkeWsQ
That clip would like to refute people saying family guy isn't funny. This reference cut was the best thing I've seen them do and it was from this season. So funny.

I've been a defender of South Park despite the decline in recent seasons but last season the hit to miss ratio took a big nose dive for me. The only episode I loved was the facebook one and Al Qaeada taking out Jersey shore. Only seen Funnybot so far this season and yeah that's a clunker.
-
Family Guy is ok. Some of the jokes make me laugh but it's usually just a struggle to sit through a whole episode... although I do think the first season or two were pretty good. The format of the show really bugs me because it's ALWAYS "hey this reminds me of something that has nothing to do with anything but we thought of this joke so let's stick it in right now" every 10 seconds.
South Park is definitely declining but I still enjoy the show... atleast for now. If they continue making crappy episodes like Funnybot, then I'll probably just give up on them.
-
This is not in keeping with tradition at all...
-
HOLY FUCK I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF
-
Already 10x better than last week.
-
Think they're going for a Mario Bros. Route?
-
I'm not sure where they are going, but this episode continues to deliver.
-
That episode was GREAT. I loved it. At first I was scared that it would be mediocre, but it picked up steam quickly and got really good. Mr. Mackey was easily the highlight of the episode.
RIP Alex Lifeson
-
Well, I love love loved that episode.
-
"I once paid an eskimo girl for a blowjob, but all she did was rub her nose against my penis for 45 minutes" :lol
-
Sounds good. I'll be ready to watch it Friday when it comes to Canada.
-
Tooth decay being the one who took the princess and that bit was a little lame, but otherwise this was a GREAT episode. The first time Mackey really lost it I was almost on the floor laughing.
GETTING RID OF TOOTH DECAY IS WHAT I'M FUCKING TRYING TO DO.
-
I especially liked the return of Scott the Dick.
-
Nugget alert!!
Coincidentally Royal Pudding happens to be the 212th episode of South Park. :lol
-
Kind of nugget?
Anyway I only caught half of the episode. Downloading asap.
-
Kind of nugget?
Anyway I only caught half of the episode. Downloading asap.
Close enough. i don't think we'll ever see 2112 episodes of SP. Not even The Simpsons can do that.
-
But I thought The Simpons have done everything...
-
Great episode, aside from Tooth Decay being the one who took the princess.
-
Just watched it. That was fucking awesome.
-
I thought Tooth Decay taking the Princess was funny. If anything, it was an interesting way to tie the main plot and the subplot together.
-
I thought Tooth Decay taking the Princess was funny. If anything, it was an interesting way to tie the main plot and the subplot together.
Yeah, this.
-
I have no idea what I just watched.
-
Great episode, and a nice return to form after the first two episodes. Rush cameo FTW. :lol
-
I thought Tooth Decay taking the Princess was funny. If anything, it was an interesting way to tie the main plot and the subplot together.
Yeah, this.
To me it just seemed lazy. "Hey, we need to figure out who took the princess. Well, we do have this other story going on about tooth decay..." Hell, they could have made it someone like the crab people and I would have been happier.
-
The first time I saw Tooth Decay, I thought it was some kind of Canadian Bowser, to be honest. Would have been fitting for the Princess arc imo.
-
I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be like Zelda, since they are standing in the Temple and ganandorf takes princess zelda in a pinkish glass container
-
Can't be. The "Excuuuuse me, princess" phrase was missing.
-
I loved the episode up until tooth decay.
-
I thought they redeemed themselves nicely after last weeks shitfest.
-
Now that episode was gold. Mr. Mackey losing it was EPIC as was the Rush cameo
-
Two thirds of the way through and this episode is more than making up for the last two episodes. And most of last season, I think.
Okay the whole episode was great. :rollin
-
Hm, I honestly didn't like this one too much. Is there something about it I'm not seeing?
-
I want to know what Nick thought of Rush being featured in the episode, including the inclusion of Geddy's nose on the Canadian head.
PLEASE someone get a screenshot of them!
-
Geddy's nose was the funniest thing of the entire episode :lol
-
Uhm I don't have a screenshot of it, but here's the clip.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7HElLt6LsQ
-
Hm, I honestly didn't like this one too much. Is there something about it I'm not seeing?
Me too. Maybe my least favorite episode. I laughed maybe once or twice.
-
If it wasn't for your love of Apple products, you and I would be total opposites.
-

What else besides this makes you say that? lol
-
I hate every South Park episode you love and vice versa. :lol
-
I hate every South Park episode you love and vice versa. :lol
Ahh i see. well what other shows do you like? past or present.
-
That was an excellent episode! I laughed quite a few times with the play plot, bits of the wedding were great too.
-
I listened to the commentary for 200 and 201.
Maybe it's ironic that the commentary for 201 is bleeped too? I dunno.
-
Oh. My. God. The synopsis for this week's episode is a recipe for AWESOME. I'll be very surprised if they manage to fuck this one up.

Oh.
My.
God.
I can't even remmeber the last time I laughed that hard, let alone at South Park.
-
The episode was solid. Not exceptionally great, but it was entertaining and funny.

The funniest part was the picture of the guy Randy showed right before the first commercial. My wife and I laughed until the show started up again.
-
FINALLY!
-
Finally what?
-
Finally what?
The Rock has come back... To Miami.
Seriously though, I believe he may be referring to Cartman doing something to rival his deeds in Scott Tenorman Must Die, or possibly the first Randy episode of the season. Either of which I'm big fans of, and thus the only two true things to get excited about.
-
Finally a great episode.
-
You must have missed last week's. ;)
-
Yeah.....lol
-
Decent episode. Last week's was funnier
-
That was seriously good.
-
Great episode again. That song at the end wasn't necessary, though.
-
Maybe it was the beer and Jager, but I laughed my fucking ass off. Great episode.
-
Yeah, that was a great episode. :lol
-
The miami heat fan was the best part. I was dying every time he spoke.
-

Totally agree. :lol
-
Latest episode? Meh. It wasn't horrible but I don't think I laughed once. The Slash bit at the end was a little funny though.
-
HOW THE FUCK DID I FORGET A NEW EPISODE WAS AIRING THIS WEEK?
I'm highly disappointed in myself. About to watch it.
-
It's pretty funny. Not as good as the last one though.
-
I thought last night's episode was good, by new South Park standards.
-
Oh. My. God.
Home run. An absolute home run.
This was easily the best episode they've done in the past SEVERAL seasons. I would put it in my Top 10 episodes list, without a doubt. I loved everything about it. It was crude, offensive, stupid, clever, hilarious, and fun. I can't count the number of times I actually laughed out loud during this episode. I can't remember the last time a South Park episode has been that funny.
The whole Slash bit was pure genius, and executed perfectly. I was in tears when Cartman asked "so who was the guitarist in Guns n Roses for all those years?" And Clyde answers "one of our parents!" :rollin And the way Butters fell out of his chair when Kyle startled him near the beginning, the EA sports guy, the hot tub of KFC gravy...there were just too many amazing parts of this episode that I can't list them all. Hell, even the painfully obvious Denny's endorsement was hilarious.
If there's an episode that can breathe new life into South Park, and give its viewers hope that the show will continue to be quality, this is it. They're gonna have a hell of a time topping this one next week.
11/10
-
Don't forget about when Cartman said Kyle could help in accounting because he's a jew, then later restated it on the phone with the head of EA :lol
-
All the 'Dutch' in the episode didn't even sound close to Dutch. But apart from that it was a great episode :).
-

This. But they probably did that to screw with the Dutch viewers
-
Last night was fantastic, probably my favorite so far this season. Loved Butters singing karaoke :lol
-

It wouldn't surprise me. :lol

Oh yeah, forgot about that part. I thought it was hilarious how that had nothing to do with the episode. So random and nonsensical, but I loved it.
-
last couple have been very good.
-
Best of the season by far. This was awesome and so much win!
-
Yeah I really liked that episode. Pretty funny stuff.
-
That was a pretty cool episode. Some of the stuff was hilarious.
-
An episode focusing on Butters and the City Wok guy = win.
I nearly shit my pants when they revealed the twist at the end.
But, like any Butters episode, the complete lack of Stan, Kyle, and Cartman dragged the episode down a bit. Still, it was a good episode and I enjoyed it.
-
Not a bad episode tonight, but Crack Baby Athletic Association is a tough act to follow.
-
I MISSED IT AGAIN WTF I SUCK
brb downloading it
-
one of the best twist endings South Park has ever done
-
Please, nobody give it away or talk about it without distinct spoilers tabs.
-
Let's just say your mind will be blown and leave it at that.
-
Awesome twist. It saved the episode, because most of it wasn't as good as it could have been.
-
New episode right now!
-
OMG WTF JUST HAPPENED
-
WTF? That was such a good episode, classic South Park humor, and they end it like THAT???
-
Um. Wow. I have a feeling after the last seven they're contractually obligated to do the show's done.
-
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
-
Wow, definitely didn't see that coming.
-
multi-parter I guess. That seriously left me in shock
-
"When Stan and Kyle have a major blow up, the very fabric of South Park begins to unravel."
That was part of the press junket, and from that I don't think that the show is ending at all, but they could very well go awhile without Stan and Randy.
-
multi-parter I guess. That seriously left me in shock
I don't think this storyline will be continued. It had a definite note of finality to it. Which of course raises even more questions.
-
Honestly, this sounds weird, but from their interviews and commentaries Parker and Stone were really starting to sound like Portnoy did right before he left Dream Theater. And that argument between Randy and Sharon took a huge meta turn.
I mean, look, I could be wrong, but I think they want to stop doing the show. And basically every part of the show was basically saying "look, things are about to get really crazy."
"When Stan and Kyle have a major blow up, the very fabric of South Park begins to unravel."
From that statement, it seems pretty clear that the show's about to end. From their perspective the fabric of the show is unravelling, so, I mean... I dunno. They're going to keep making it?
-
If the show does end, I'm going to kill that whore, The Book of Mormon.
-
If the show does end, I'm going to kill that whore, The Book of Mormon.
Why? Just like Portnoy wanted to do stuff other than DT, Trey and Matt apparently want to do stuff other than South Park. Maybe we'll ever get another movie out of it.
And I mean honestly, I haven't liked a lot of South Park this season anyway. If they think it's time to go, then I have to say to some extent they have a good sense of timing, even if it's still really sad.
-
It really was just a joke comparing The Book of Mormon to Avenged Sevenfold.
-
But I'm assuming The Book of Mormon was at least good right?
-
It. Was. AMAZING.
-
Ryan, you were in Skype with us when Nick was talking about it, you big silly.
-
What? I can't see it yet. What happened?
-
What? I can't see it yet. What happened?
Stan's parents divorced, Randy moved away and it's strongly implied that Stan will never be friends with the other guys again.
-

Oh, wow. :sadpanda:
-
Holy shit. That was incredible.
-
Even though I haven't seen much of this season (I've been working my way from Season One; almost there at the midway point of Season Thirteen), the early comments about tonight's episode in this thread encouraged me to watch it online.
And, like everyone else...wow...
A major universal unravelling would be a fitting end to South Park though...
-
Holy fuck, was not expecting that.
Yeah, I'd say we have seven more episodes, and then it's done.
-

As far as I know, Matt and Trey have been mentally done with South Park for a while now, and have been waiting on finishing up their current contract. With that said, having that much time to plan, the series finale is either going to be an epic on the scale of Imaginationland X 200/201 + Bigger, Longer & Uncut2, or it's going to be the most anticlimactic, meta, shaggy dog ending ever devised for a series. I honestly can't wait.
-
Ugh. I hate having to wait till October
-
Has South Park always run like this (ie. with a mid-season finale and a substantial gap until October)?
-
Yep.
-
It's done the split season, half in spring half in fall, thing since around season 4 or 5.
-
Well that, uh, that was an episode.
-
Well that, uh, that was an episode.
Indeed it was :lol
-
As far as I know, Matt and Trey have been mentally done with South Park for a while now, and have been waiting on finishing up their current contract.
I think 200/201 was the turn. Before then they still seemed engaged with the show and excited about what they could do with it. I think after those two they probably started feeling like they couldn't do anything they really thought was adventurous with the show anymore.

Given what they've done on the past, I'm thinking/hoping the former. Generally, when things have really counted (South Park Movie/Imaginationland/Team America) they went all out with the ending and made it satisfying. I think this finale was more of the shaggy dog ending to get that out there, and now they're going to use the last seven to end South Park the right way. Or at least I hope that.
-
Hey guys, what do you think about turning this into a Top 20 episodes thread? Would anyone besides me be interested in doing one?
-
Hey guys, what do you think about turning this into a Top 20 episodes thread? Would anyone besides me be interested in doing one?
Yes yes yes yes
-
I'm just so, so sad that the show's very possibly going to end. The episode clearly said they were unhappy with it. I don't know if the show can go on if they don't enjoy it, and I don't know what my life will be like without South Park.
-
They've been spinning their wheels for awhile but delivering fairly well. Is it really all that bad?
-
They've been spinning their wheels for awhile but delivering fairly well. Is it really all that bad?
Man. Trey and Matt probably have major F you money and lives I at least hope they can live with. If they keep making South Park for the money then that's maybe the dumbest thing they've ever done. And I've definitely seen how in season 15 so far they just haven't had it any more in some ways. But it's South Park man. The idea of it going away is just sad.
-
Yeah, but a 15 season run...not too shabby. If it ends, they'll leave behind a legacy of over 200 great episodes. I think it would be sadder if they were to continue doing something while their hearts weren't in it.
-
WHAT A SHOCKER!!
-
That was quite the ending. The possibility of no more South Park is indeed a sad one, but they picked a good time to end it. The last few seasons haven't quite been up to par, and I have a feeling Matt and Trey realize that. I am more excited for new South Park than I have been in years though, so that's a good thing.
-
Hey guys, what do you think about turning this into a Top 20 episodes thread? Would anyone besides me be interested in doing one?
Proper Condom Use, full stop.
And 19 other episodes too, I guess.
-
It's definitely sad to think of South Park coming to a close; When I was a kid, staying up with a few friends and catching an episode of South Park was the greatest thing.
Still, it's understandable that Matt and Trey would want to move on after 15 years, and it's actually commendable that they're willing to walk away from a pretty considerable paycheck, even if they're already quite well off.
-
I hope they end it, honestly. I love South Park, and I do enjoy watching new episodes, but honestly with each season I think they are just bringing the show down a bit more each time.
Would be good to end it now while they can still end on a relatively good note.
That said, I liked this episode, and the concept of it. I'm not entirely sure that what happened in the episode is actually gonna be "real" though, and I think that it is quite likely everything will be "reset".
-
What a shitty episode.
-
Trey and Matt were just on the new episode of The Daily Show. Jon Stewart asked them about South Park's future. Their answer was vague, but they said that they still enjoy making South Park and that they'll "see what happens when August comes around." It was nice to see how positively they reacted to the question. They could have just been *grumble grumble* about it, but they reiterated that South Park is their baby and they implied that they would like to keep it going.
Trey also implied that people are overanalyzing all that's been said about them and the future of the show. I think they're both trying to do "damage control" after so many people seem to have gotten the idea that South Park is nothing but a burden to them now. At any rate, seeing that interview was kind of comforting.
-
Was just about to post about that, was great to hear.
-
Still sticking to my theory that everything is gonna "reset" once the season picks up again.
-

Still sticking to my theory that everything is gonna "reset" once the season picks up again.
That's what I was thinking. it'd be so great if the next episode has everything exactly the way it was before :lol
-
Yeah, it would be funny if one of the characters mentions offhand what happened in the last episode, in a "so...we're just not even going to address this?" kind of way, and all the other characters act like they have no idea what he's talking about. It would be a fuck you to the audience, but a funny one.
-
They've already been giving a fuck you to the audience with the lazy writing over the last few years.
-
The writing has gone downhill a bit over the last few seasons. I mean, there's still occasionally a good episode, but it's just not the show it used to be. The thing that really bothers me is how they seem to have an idea of what a 'South Park episode' is, and almost refuse to stray outside of that, when unpredictability was part of what made the early shows great. Maybe if they took a little more time to write episodes, instead of just rushing into the studio whenever it was time to make a new season, and just making the episodes as fast as possible. Most of all though, things really went downhill when Kevin Moore left, and...
Wait...
-
I'm very cautiously excited about this.
-
If an episode from last season can crack my top 10 episodes list (Crack Baby Athletic Association), then I have no doubt Matt and Trey have the talent and ability to continue writing good episodes. I'm not cautious, I'm just straight-up excited.
-
From Facebook:
"Hey fans, there's a new "South Park" Documentary coming October 2nd!
Camera crews were here filming non-stop for almost all of Season 15A (the first 7 episodes) to capture the most in-depth look possible. You'll get an all-access pass inside our world and see first-hand how Matt Stone and Trey Parker take the show from script to finished product.
The documentary is set to air October 2nd at 10PM EST on Comedy Central. Stay tuned!"
Sounds cool!

Awesome!

Aww I won't be able to see it unless I find it online
-
YESSSSSSSSSS
do want.
-
They did the audio mix for that documentary at my work. It was pretty cool. They sent us like 30 dvds with all the stems from a ton of episodes.
-
That's awesome. Where do you work; what is your job title?
-
I work at Postworks NYC. I'm a colorist and online editor.
-
That's cool. :tup
New episode was ok. The Cartman subplot was better than the Stan main plot. The ending was confusing. The speech Stan gave at the end was clearly directed at the show's detractors who want the show to go back to the way it was. But then his parents get back together, everything goes back to normal, but Stan is obviously still unhappy.
I'm going to assume the swig of alcohol he took right before the credits implies that he's just gonna be accepting of his reality from now on, and the next episode will feature him being his old self again. But in the back of our minds, we know that Stan (Trey) is still mildly unhappy with everything, but is just going along for the ride.
-
I've really grown to love the show more in the last few years, so I guess I'm the oddball. But I do think Stan drinking at the end was a metaphor that the beat rolls on and the guys are less than thrilled about it. I thought the episode was pretty decent but I found myself reasoning with them (Stan) that it was a good time to change up some stuff on the show and make it more exciting. It was kind of making me more interested in the upcoming B season. Then Randy fucked it all up. :(
-
Drew, I don't think Trey is unhappy. If he was things would change I think. I really think this was all just a slap at some of the more pissy fans.
-
I thought it was pretty good. One thing wrong with the "Oh it's all going to be the same again" deal is that it still doesn't have to be just because his parents got back together. Other than that I really liked this episode.
-
I dont understand why Trey would be unhappy. Didnt they just agree to do a few more seasons?
-
6 Days to Air is on now. This is really awesome so far.
-
Watching it now.
Bill Hader writes for South Park.....I was not aware of this.
-
I'm really looking forward to checking that out, but it'll have to wait until I finish all my regular Sunday shows
-
DVR'd it. Will watch it when I get back from my business trip. I liked the Ass Burgers episode.
-
I dvred that, I was always wondering what going into making a SP episode considering they oftem sneak in current event jokes, including things that happen shortly before the show airs.
-
I may be biased, having worked with both legal and illegal Mexicans for twenty years, but that was one of the funniest episodes ever. I want a "mantequilla" shirt so bad.
-
That episode was pretty damn funny
-
Great episode. Wasn't very impressed with last week's show, but this one had me rolling at a couple of different occasions.
-
I lost it when that lady handed Butters the towel and windex :lol
-
I lost it when that lady handed Butters the towel and windex :lol
Yeah, and when they gave him the leaf blower. :lol
-
Good episode. Not great, but definitely passable. Butters episodes are always good.
Favorite line: "Butters is one of those people who you can never remember if he was there or not." I don't know why, but that line had me rolling. And it's just because Craig said it. If any other character had said that line, it wouldn't have been funny.
-
I fucking loved it. Great episode.
-
definitely much better show this week. Loved the Life of Brian parody
-
I liked the Vader NOOOOO.
-
I Was not the biggest fan of the episode, but 6 days to air was pretty cool. I could not stop laughing when they were recording the cuddlefish or asparagus scene. Apparently Trey couldn't either.
-
they oftem sneak in current event jokes, including things that happen shortly before the show airs.
I kinda hate when they do that. I'd rather them not base the episode on anything and start from the ground up
-
I know, I definitely prefer their weird, mainly absurdist stuff from the early years.
Though I still enjoy most new SP I see.
-
I liked this new episode. I was laughing the whole way through.
-
I liked the Vader NOOOOO.
I have to admit, that was fucking amazing.
-
What the fuck a I watching right now? This is one of the worst episodes I have seen in a while. Too many things are being combined into one episode. It's stupid to have Lemmiwinks and no Mr. slave
-
I think the Lemmiwinks thing was a little too much, but other than that I really enjoyed it. The laxative thing was hysterical.
-
It was an ok episode until the last scene with Mr Mackey crappin himself into the ceiling. :rollin
-
That was without a doubt in my mind the best South Park episode in a long time. This season has been very good so far.
-
What a great episode. I loved everything about it. Definitely in my Top 15. Episodes where the plot is focused entirely on the town without much social commentary always turn out great.
When they threw Cartman under the bus....oh my God you guys, I laughed so fucking hard. The timing was perfect. Also, the ending where Mr. Mackey was violently shitting himself was classic South Park.
Overall, a solid 9/10. They need to make more episodes like this.
-

You summed it up pretty perfectly.
-
I also thought it was a great episode, especially Cartman's part in the story :lol
-
I approved!
-
I watched the episode a second time last night, that time while not texting my girlfriend... I enjoyed it way more.
-
I really enjoyed the episode.
Especially the ending. :lol
-
Just watched last night's episode. :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin
-
Shit I totally forgot about it last night. Will watch when I get home.
-
Ok, last night's episode was pretty brilliant. Probably going to rank up in my favorites of the series. Of course, that might be because I'm a total musical theater dork - but I thought it was awesome.
-
I can attest to this episode being true. :lol Plays are good for men too. :hat
-
That episode was indeed brilliant.
-
I found it very boring in the beginning, but it gained momentum quick. The parking lot scene was one of the best scenes in southpark history. Randy explaining the spiderman thing wasnfucking gold. I love Randy.
-
I didn't like the episode very much, to be honest. They took one joke and ran with it for 22 minutes. Randy episodes are usually better than that.
-
I thought that was a great episode. In the car when Randy kept saying, sorry Sharon, was one of the best scenes ever haha. Really subtle but hilarious. Then the parking lot scene, oh god that was hysterical.
-
Fantastic episode, and the song Randy wrote for his musical was amazing :lol
-
I very much enjoyed that episode, but my girlfriend only thinks I did because I love BJs.
-
Not a single bump for last night's episode?
I think it was meh.
-
1% was fantastic.
-
The cart man stuff was very good. The other stuff was ok. The last few episodes have been gold though.
-
Not as good as the rest of the episodes this leg, but very good. I LOVED the musical theater one though.
-
Cartman and his stuffed animals never fails to make me piss my pants laughing.

I can't believe I haven't seen this thread until now.
Anyway, I thought last night's episode was very strong and one of this season's best. I love how Matt and Trey are doing some hardcore character development this season.
-
Anyone notice that Stan's voice was really different in this episode?
I liked that episode. Not as funny as it was just entertaining. The Cartman stuff was pretty good, but I actually kinda felt bad for him when he started losing his stuffed toys lol.
-
I was loving the History Channel episode.
Its funny how South Parks ends up making an episode about what's usually on my mind. The History Channel has gone way off the rails in the past couple of years.
-
I definitely enjoyed the History Channel episode. There were so many points where it was just like "Huh, this is happening". It was gloriously stupid, and I mean that in a good way.
-
I really enjoyed last nights episode, it was classic Cartman.
Like when he framed his mom for having a Meth lab just so he could go into foster care. Too funny. And the Dr. Pepper drinking super agnostic foster family with the doctor pepper torture chamber had me dying laughing.
-
I really enjoyed The Poor Kid, for the simple reason that it brought a new level of humanity to Kenny and his siblings which the show's never really looked at before. Penn State Guy got old really quickly but the agnostic Dr. Pepper family made up for it.
-

These, and then at the end when Cartman was walking back and forth crying out My Mom's So Poor jokes, I fucking lost it, I could not stop laughing.
-
....What the fuck, why did I miss last night's episode? About to watch now.
-
OH MY GOD!
THEY KILLED KENNY!
-
Yeah, that was a fantastic Kenny death.
-
When that cop answered the phone. "POLICEMAN"
i loled

Here's something really cool I just discovered. Well....sort of. There's a children's show called Arthur that I used to watch every morning before school. I'd seen this episode numerous times, but since I didn't watch South Park back then I had no idea they were paying homage to it. It's trippy to see a kid's show parody South Park.
