New album titled "Leveler" out June 21st, just in-time for Warped Tour, which they headline. Album artwork, track names, etc. coming soon (hopefully).
Who else here is ready for this album?!

Cool beans.
-
Just wanna note that I couldn't get into the guy's vocals. It was like Shai Hulud's That With Blood Ill-Tempered, good music and all but the vocals I failed getting passed.
I hope he's changed/improved.
-
Awesome! :metal

It sounds like they have continued the sound they were going with on Constellations and I think that's a good thing. :metal

Another new song, this one's even better than Empire imo. Some BTBAM-esque parts in there, loving this song.

Constellations was fantastic. :metal
-
New song is win...love the middle section that goes in a different direction, and the ending is heavy :metal

Fuck yeah bro!
-
Marianas Trench is my 2nd most played song ever, true story.
-
Dude... Meddler all the way
-
LEVELER is fucking awesome. :hefdaddy
So much better than anything they've ever written.
-
I refuse to listen to anything else until Tuesday. I cannot wait.

My pre-order came today, unexpectedly. I feel like ABR sent me an early birthday present since my birthday is Sunday!
I'll let you in on a bit about the new album, it's fucking amazing. :metal

Aaah, you're incredibly lucky, and that's an awesome birthday present!
More experimentation, I'm hoping? :D

Yes. But, there is still that classic ABR sound that I know I love. If you love all their albums, you'll definitely enjoy this one!
-
Hearing various clips and tracks as they post them on facebook, sounds fantastic, will buy when I get some money!
-
I've listened to it, and it does indeed fucking rock!

This, exactly. :metal
-
I'm so pumped!
I had my money on Carpe Diem being an amazing track, is that the truth?
-
Yeah, it was the truth.
This album is completely fantastic and I urge everyone to pick up a copy. Such diversity in the tracks and the bonus tracks rule! One of my albums of the year, for sure.

This is the truth!
Unfortunately, there is a bunch of people bitching on youtube about some clean sections being "gay shit" and how the album "blows" so much. I think its because these people were expecting 6 breakdowns per song.
I, for one, fucking LOVE the direction ABR has gone in since Messengers. It's almost pure genius! :metal
-
I agree, the direction they took on Constellations and here furthered on Leveler really makes them stand out among the metalcore crowd. They thank BTBAM in the credits of the album, and it shows, they've definitely been influenced by them on certain songs.
I don't mind the haters on Youtube, really, as if you check review sites and whatnot, the album has garnered mostly 4 and 5 star ratings from professional reviewers... that, and most everyone on iTunes/Amazon are saying great things about the album, too.
The extra tracks are pretty cool, too. The piano version of Boys of Fall is oddly haunting.
Btw-- awesome taste in music, RMV! :metal
-
I'm spinning now.
Will comment after.

-
It's good.
It really is.
I think it's borderline too heavy for too long for me.
There's no time in the music to catch your breath.
This album is intense.
And I do enjoy some clean vocals, and there aren't many spots if any on this disc.
-
Have you never listened to August Burns Red before? Compared to their other stuff, this album has a lot more places to "breath," and I love that aspect of it.
Salt & Light is probably my favorite song, I absolutely love the "we sing for you!" part, and then the anthem-chorus that follows behind it. It's fantastic.

If you think this album is intense, check out Messengers. I think you will change your mind quickly. Messengers is aggressive! :metal

So far I'm liking the intro to Pangaea. A lot.

Oh yes. And the ending, too. "Oh Pangea, what have you done?!"
I have to say I'm in love with every song on this album. Such diversity for a band that people used to say "sounded the same." I knew after Constellations (and the fact that they featured Tommy Rogers) that they'd be moving in a bit more progressive/experimental direction, and this is exactly what I hoped for.

Exactly this. And they did it very well. I love everything about this album!

I know the album is still new, and I've yet to hear it...are guys liking it more than Constellations?

I like it more than Constellations. And I think the musical side of the album is more evolved and mature than Constellations. :metal
-
I don't think I've listened to the new album enough, because I'm having a hard distinguishing the songs from each other.
So far, I like Constellations better (it is, after all, a godly album)
-
Leveler is better than Constellations for sure. Constellations is amazing amazing amazing, though, so that's not saying a whole lot, except that Leveler is even better.
And yeah I can name every song when I hear it, still can't do that well with Constellations save for Marianas Trench, Meddler, Meridian, Crusades, Indonesia, and Ocean of Apathy. There's actually a lot more diversity in Leveler so yeah... you definitely need more listens.

The thing with Constellations is that it is ridiculously diverse as well! Both Constellations and Leveler are very diverse albums and I can name every song when hearing it from both albums. I don't feel that any two songs sound identical of either albums.

FINALLY listening to Leveler
HOLY SHIT this is awesome. I see it being a top 10 album for 2011 for me.
-
YEAH MAN
it's a really awesome album, full of experimentation and diversity, I love it.

Cool! All their releases are pretty awesome. Their Christmas songs are amazing, so I'm looking forward to this release. Kinda weird that it isn't being released sometime near Christmas, but eh.

New album "Rescue & Restore" out June 25th
(https://25.media.tumblr.com/ba2b584fa027ff7513f2119ac5ec0674/tumblr_mmi66j087y1s2hxkoo1_400.jpg)

4. Count It All As Lost
5. Sincerity
6. Creative Captivity
7. Fault Line
8. Beauty In Tragedy
9. Animals
10. Echoes
11. The First Step
The first single sounds pretty good, very Constellations-esque. Apparently this album is going to have even more deviations from the typical metalcore sound, which is awesome because despite loving their sound I think furthering their experimental side will produce some good results.
-
I'm looking forward to it. I will pre-order it at some point before the release date. Too bad it couldn't be surprised before I head to Utah in the middle of June. I really would have liked to listen to a few new albums on the drive there.
-
Can't wait. The month of June is going to be awesome for new albums.
-
Holy crap, I haven't listened to these guys since they were a Myspace band. They any good as a major label band?

Just listen to them. Personally, they have done well with albums like "Constellations" and "Leveler," and hopefully this new album will fall in that same vein of great songwriting, etc.

New song "Spirit Breaker."
One of the best songs I've heard from these guys, easily. This gives me so much hope for this album.
-
This album is absolutely outstanding. Spirit Breaker, Creative Captivity, and Echoes are amongst the best stuff these guys have put out.
-
This album's the first thing I've heard from this band and I really like it. :metal

August Burns Red's Christmas song this year, "Joy to the World".
Unlike the other songs they have released for Christmas... this one has vocals! Check it out.

DTF's biggest ABR fan back with information about their new album, Found in Far Away Places, which comes out next Monday! It's already out there, and I've heard it-- it's easily their best album. The experimentation is so fresh, the heaviness is just so good, and everything seems cohesive and powerful.
1. "The Wake" 3:26
2. "Martyr" 4:35
3. "Identity" 4:19
4. "Separating the Seas" 4:19
5. "Ghosts" (featuring Jeremy McKinnon) 4:49
6. "Majoring in the Minors" 4:18
7. "Everlasting Ending" 5:09
8. "Broken Promises" 6:12
9. "Blackwood" 4:42
10. "Twenty-One Grams" 4:53
11. "Vanguard" 5:39
Definitely check it out or give it a listen when it comes out. These guys just keep getting better.
-
Album is up for streaming on iTunes. "Ghosts" has the best ending of any ABR song yet. What a phenomenal album.
