Steven Wilson already has his next solo album, Blackfield III, and Storm Corrosion to work on.

Is this confirmed? Did they get the work visa problem resolved?

no, they posted some stuff about it and linked petition on facebook earlier actually
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-Ne-Obliviscaris-aka-Give-a-Frog-A-Home/111071028961318

but, it's rather notable as a potential album if he doesn't end up having to leave. If he leaves, I suppose the odds aren't good in 2011, if ever.

I'm really hoping for a new Theocracy album; I know they're working on it.  Also, it would be nice if Road Salt Two would finally come out.

I remember hearing somewhere that Gojira were recording an EP. It's been many months since I last heard any news on the matter.

I'm really hoping for a new Theocracy album; I know they're working on it.
I'm on the same boat. I love Mirror of Souls to death, and while I don't have it just yet, the stuff from their self titled album is really awesome as well. I can't wait to see what Matt Smith has in store for us.

If all of the bands listed so far release albums next year, and half of them are good, next year should be decent.

Plus, add to those Mars Volta, Battles, Fleet Foxes, Silverchair, and Bic Runga.

Alright, so I asked them on Facebook myself and they actually wrote back:

Me: "Hey! Huge Wolverine fan in Canada here wondering about the new album. When is it due to be released? It feels like forever since the last update."
Wolverine: "Hello Jacob, we're having some issues with the mastering but hopefully real soon we'll be satisfied! :) We'll hopefully get a sample up very early in the new year!"

I do not understand why the new Mr. Big was released in Japan this month, while Europe gets in it January and we get it in February.  Just throwing money away when they could be hyping up this reunion album as much as possible (at least for the rest of the world.  Apparently its already Gold in Japan).

SYMPHONY X  Goddamn, only 2 albums last decade?  C'mon guys.  I know they have a lot of stuff going on in their lives, but they really need to release albums on a more regular basis.

also:

Dream Theater:  Gonna be interesting, one way or the other......

and while it's not a studio album, Jon Oliva is compiling a new Savatage/ Jon Oliva's Pain live album/dvd.  Considering the last Savatage live album was back in '95, it has been too long since I've heard that man belt it out live (on an official live album/video, anyways)

There has been hardly any other out there that even mentions the BTBAM EP, let alone any plans to release it. I'm starting to believe they are planning their exit from Victory Records and getting ready to sign to another label. This EP might be fulfilling their contract, in terms of releases. I'm just speculating, of course.

On the subject of the EP, I haven't heard any information regarding the release date or how it will be released.

Yes.  I think the current lineup is:
-Mark Slaughter
-Any guitar player who played in Dokken or Whitesnake (let's face it, the list is endless, but they're pretty interchangeable)
-Jeff Pilson (Marco Mendoza is already splitting time between Ratt, Dokken, and some third band that doesn't require him to wear a shirt either, so...)
-Mike Portnoy (hey, a guy's gotta work)

Given the time between BH&R and The Resistance, I'd be VERY surprised if Muse came out with a new album.  I'd buy it on release date, but I'm not sure I'd be looking too forward to it...

I would, however, be looking forward to a new Mew album.

someone on mp.com listed Mew and Muse. Muse, I'd be surprised, but Mew, who knows.
I'm 99% certain there won't be a new studio album from Muse, but they'll probably release a live album/DVD from the Wembley shows again.

I'm waiting for lots of stuff that's already been listed.

But am I the only one who's psyched about the Cars reunion?  I can't wait to see what they come up with in the studio.

Add Circus Maximus and ARK (I hope). Jorn isn't coming back, but given how much I enjoyed "Burn the Sun", I'm definitely looking forward to the new CD.

Hopefully it comes out this year

The last Bright Eyes album  :'(

Really?

Yeah. Conor said a while back that it would be the last album released under the Bright Eyes name. He'll probably just keep doing his solo albums from then on.

That is a shame, although I assume a solo album from Oberst would be about the same quality?

H already has a few solo albums, and they're pretty good. Though I have not listened to them much.

Mr. Big is still a band?

:lol  I had not seen this.  Too damned funny.  No busting on Mark Slaughter though.  Ace singer.  I saw him play guitar and do backing vocals for Nelson last summer.  Killer.  :metal

I'm super excited for IN FLAMES! Because they were my favorite band at one point and every album after Reroute to Remain has been hit or miss. I always hope for a return to the glory of the 90s.  :metal

Probably too early, but I'd like to see a new Converge album next year too.

Also, for the whole one other person here who cares, Circle Takes the Square started recording their next album :caffeine:

Jesper left, so the next album isn't really looking too good. :(

On December 2010, the band announced bassist Robin Zielhorst and guitarist Tymon Kruidenier have left the band, citing "challenges of maintaining a band that is half based in The Netherlands" as their reasoning. In the same announcement, remaining members Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinart set the approximate release schedule for Cynic's next album, stating that "The new Cynic release is coming in summer 2011 on the Season of Mist label," and just as well, "[t]hey are also working towards a remixed re-release of their classic recording 'Focus.'"

oh lawd
