Namely his latest Youtube channel subscription. If you know what I'm talking about, then, I mean, dang. Um, dig in I guess for those who benefit. An actual band member put it up.
Jordan is probably a fan of the Metroid video. I'm so lost.
I wonder why...doesn't seem to make much sense!
How utterly bizarre. :| Is he trying to prove a point or something, that he's cool with it and the fans shouldn't feel guilty about it?
OMG! I think kyledawg is JMX!
What did he put for those that don't follow twitter?
QuoteI subscribed to kyledawg92's channel on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/user/kyledawg92?feature=autoshare

Random youtube channel, with lot's of DTs music.
I just don't understand...
Seriously, I have no idea what the fuck is going on. :censored
Same here. NFI.

Somehow I don't think that's it.
What if he just happens to know the guy?
rumborak
Hmm, all the guy has uploaded are random Dream Theater songs and Wii games running on a computer emulator.
Something smells fishy
I don't get it. Why is everyone alarmed by this?
I don't see how any of this could possibly mean anything.
Everything means something.

I'm not alarmed. But I do find it extremely interesting that a member of the band would endorse a Youtube channel that has their music uploaded for free. And not just the singles you can get anywhere. He has the epics uploaded that you could argue are the main reason to actually buy the album.
I don't know if Rudess was necessarily trying to "say" anything. But even if, in his mind, linking to a channel with their music uploaded is something he would just do, that says a lot on a subtextual level.
One other detail that's important. It's not like he linked to a video hosted by a guy with their songs uploaded. That's just the nature of the internet. It's that Rudess subscribed to his channel and had it publicly put out there.
Or maybe the message automatically showed up in his Twitter. And if Rudess realizes what happened, he'll take it down because he doesn't want his fans to think what I'm thinking right now.
1. What the fuck are you all talking about?
2. Link to Rudess' twitter?
3. What the fuck are you all talking about?
its probably just an experiment to see how crazy we, the DT fans are

We're progressive rock fans. We overanalyse everything.
QuoteOr maybe the message automatically showed up in his Twitter.
I think this is very likely. You can sync your social networks so anything you do on Youtube (uploading videos, subscribing) is 'advertised' on Twitter. The 'I uploaded a new video (link here)' tweets are too robotic to have been 'written' by a human being.

QFT.
The message is definably automatically generated because he has his Tweeter account linked to the youtube account, so everytime he LIKES a video or subscribed, the message goes automatically. Why he liked the channel...not clear.

Because his iPod, containing his entire DT collection, died on him and this will tide him over til he gets a new one?
Whats the big deal?

1) Rudess clearly has the option on YouTube enabled that automatically tweets when he likes/comments/subscribes.
2) An automated tweet was sent out earlier stating he has subscribed to a YouTube channel (namely "kyledawg92" 's channel)
3) This channel contains some of DT's music being shared for free (i.e. illegal file sharing).
4) It doesn't take a genius to work out why people find this odd
Rudess subscribing to this person is not a big deal. Case closed. ;D

aside from your condescending tone, i thank you for clearing this up. no one posted anything clear enough as to what was going on, and i dont tweet, or know how to tweet. i think it's all silly.
Yeah, Ruddess is really against that sort of thing, kinda weird
Well it's clear that by subscribing to a channel which uploads Dream Theater songs without the bands permission he is sending a big "screw you" to MP who always wanted to make sure people were paying for DT's music and.....
yeah it's nothing. you guys are weird :lol
I'm with Volk. Who cares?
I don't understand the hype with this. I think some of you may be reading too much into it.

You didn't come across like that at all. Some people are just too damn lazy to take the two seconds that everyone else did to see what's going on, or even read the thread, where there's more than enough context clues to put things together.
I think what JR has done doesn't deserve half of the fuss it's made about here.

This. Seriously, who cares if Rudess subbed him? Obviously he's okay with the file-sharing, so he subbed. No reason to make a big deal about it.
I think it's important to analyze every move that every band member makes at this point. If one of them posts what they had for breakfast, or even lunch, it's entirely possible that there's a hidden meaning in it, otherwise they would not have posted it. I think we the fans owe it to DT and to ourselves to overreact and stir up rumors, even controversy, over the smallest, most insignificant thing. What kind of fans would we be otherwise?
Remember, "fan" comes from "fanatic" -- one who is obsessed with the band or artist, and who seeks to add meaning to their own lives by living vicariously through their idols. Jordan obviously did this to send us, the fans, a secret message regarding who the next drummer will be. His last message was too overt as was set to Private very shortly thereafter. We will never know what really happened there, but I think we should suspect the worst. Given the circumstances, it just makes sense to me.
But Jordan is far too smart to make the same mistake twice. He clearly has done this in order to get his message out under the radar. So far, I've only spent about 22 hours altogether analyzing the videos and comments in this guy's YouTube vids, the order of them, the context, the choice of words, etc., but I'm confident that with a little perseverence, a pattern will emerge and the message will be revealed.
Jordan is pretty open about his absolute disdain with file-sharing.

This. I remember him talking about this in an interview not too long ago, even specifically mentioning people who upload studio versions of other people's songs to youtube. At least at that time, he was not in favor of it.
This thread is the worst.

I do to, I don't tweet as I think it's pointless. JR tweeted something, fanboys took it out of context and now we have this worthless thread. All I care about is their music, not their personal lives.
